The Diocese of Guildford has an exciting part-time opportunity for a Community Lead to manage our Hear Here project.

The Hear Here Project is a community-focused initiative which involves collaboration between the Diocese, Parishes, NHS Audiology Departments and Sight for Surrey to assist those who wear an NHS-issued hearing aid with any technical issues at clinics run by trained hearing champions. The clinics helps to break the cycle of isolation often experienced by those with hearing loss.

The project, powered by volunteers, operates in parish churches and other community spaces, forming a key part of the diocese's "Growing Communities" strategy.

The role involves leading, managing, and ensuring the governance of Hear Here across the diocese. The Community Project Lead will work closely with volunteers, maintaining high clinic standards and fostering relationships with key partners to secure the project’s future and enhance its outreach potential.

Key Responsibilities include:

· Providing overall leadership and manage the daily activities of Hear Here.

· Promote the project across the diocese, ensuring it is recognised as a vital part of parish outreach and mission.

· Collect and analyse data from clinics for accurate and timely reporting.

· Respond to telephone and email enquiries, assisting new clients in accessing clinics and keep the online directory current.

· Identify, pursue, and secure ongoing funding to sustain and expand the project.

· Increase the visibility of Hear Here within the Diocese to expand the clinics and enhance their role in community outreach.

· Work with the NHS trusts to provide up-to-date training and support.

· Manage a team of volunteers to ensure clinics run consistently, safely, and according to required standards.

· Build and maintain excellent working relationships with internal and external stakeholders.

· Administer and oversee project governance.

The successful candidate will need to hold a UK driving licence and have their own vehicle as the position requires travel around the diocese from time to time.

THE ROLE
•    This is a key leadership role, responsible for leading the Trust’s strategic delivery in for Northern Ireland, managing, inspiring and coaching a multidisciplinary team focused on prioritising activities of greatest impact to take advantage of unique opportunities in Northern Ireland whilst ensuring alignment with our UK plans.

THE CANDIDATE
•    Strong background of leading and managing teams at a senior level, preferably in the conservation or environmental sector, you’ll be an inspirational leader. 
•    Experience of developing effective relationships internally and externally, you’ll be a strong communicator with the ability to influence at a senior level, motivate, inspire and shape strategy. 
•    Responsible for the delivery of our strategic plan in Northern Ireland you’ll be able to promote the work of the Woodland Trust with energy flair and imagination to high level partners, funders and stakeholders.
•    Experience in shaping and implementing organisational strategy as well as setting and managing multi-million £ budgets, having the responsibility to report to executive levels.
•    Experience in delivering operational leadership, change management and high performance across the Operations function including multiple complex projects. 
•    The role is based in in Northern Ireland and will require the successful candidate to undertake travel across a wide area. A full driving licence is required.

Key Details

Salary: £37,400 per annum with generous benefits including 25 days annual holiday plus public holidays, enhanced pension contribution, private medical health insurance, life assurance, and flexible/hybrid working.

The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. The role

Is leading the charity through its next phases of development as it prepares itself for year on year increases in demand with a focus on delivering the charity’s future resilience plan (Project 12/25). The CEO is accountable for overall charity performance (financial, operational, governance, compliance), team (paid and volunteer) support and development. In this new, impactful role, you will be responsible for mobilising and subsequently continuously improving a new network engagement and support function. The aim of the function is to significantly enhance the understanding the of needs, views and priorities of local Age UKs and the way in which the national organisation connects with, engages, and supports them. 

Working collaboratively with local Age UKs and national teams, the Director of Network Engagement & Support will be responsible for developing and implementing a network engagement and support strategy. This includes driving forward changes that may include the type of support provided, the way in which it is delivered and how it is monitored and measured to ensure our approach is responsive, sustainable and supports the strategic objectives and operational needs of the network.

This will require collaborative working across a range of teams to ensure a coherent and coordinated approach. This role and team will engage directly with local Age UK leadership, be the owner of the organisational overview of the network and network interactions, ensuring risks and issues are appropriately managed and that there is an effective and transparent flow of information across the organisation and network including into formal governance mechanisms.  

The Director of Network Engagement & Support will ensure the effective delivery and operation of several formal and informal network engagement activities, for example Chief Officer induction. Whilst taking responsibility for providing team strategic direction and management to achieve objectives, the role holder is also expected to be a visible and constructive participant within both the wider Age UK senior management team and the senior team of the Network division.

The role will provide database and data services to the Fundraising and Community Engagement department and enhance the charity’s supporter experience. You will be the data and insight lead who will assist with continuously updating the database and data processes, as well as data manipulation. You will focus on carrying out regular database health checks to update supporter records and to ensure accuracy of data. Additionally, you will also support your colleagues in their use of the database to enhance engagement, donations, and marketing for supporters.

To be successful in the role of Database Executive, you will need: 

• Proven experience as a data administrator or similar role involving manipulating data, and advanced skills in using a database or CRM.
• Some experience of running reports and exporting data, and of running data health routines, with understanding of relational databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel to an intermediate level, and excellent IT skills and analytical mindset.
• Good understanding of GDPR.

They now seek a Chief Operating Officer (COO) to form the start of a strong executive team, focusing on strategic growth, operational excellence and driving performance to guarantee transformative programmes.

You will bring an entrepreneurial approach, be skilled in programme growth, financially literate, and experienced in the organizational management of a growing charity.

With exceptional communication skills and a proven track record of building relationships and leading teams, you will be responsible for programme and operational development, stakeholder engagement, and ensuring optimum performance and impact metrics for programme delivery staff.

The role will bridge strategy and operations, overseeing and optimising the charity's operations, finance, and governance to enable programme growth andscale for more continued success.

We are seeking two highly motivated and enthusiastic individuals to work with our Partnerships and Communications team. You will support the team to increase income, diversify funding streams, and implement engaging fundraising campaigns and events. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone looking to gain experience and skills across a breadth of fundraising and communications activities.

Key Responsibilities:

• Conducting research on prospective donors, foundations, and corporate supporters and monitoring grant portals to build a pipeline of new funding opportunities
• Gathering and collating informative and engaging content for efficient proposal development
• Supporting in the development of funding proposals to donors, foundations, and corporate supporters
• Supporting with event design and management to engage new donors and steward existing partners
• Supporting with the implementation of a new donor journey process to improve team efficiency and build strong relationships with funders
• Supporting in the development and implementation of a new individual giving strategy to grow this new income stream for PEAS
• Contributing creative ideas for new fundraising opportunities
• Drafting, editing, and proofing content for e-newsletters, blogs, and social media
• Helping to gather and analyse social media metrics to assess the performance of campaigns
• Supporting the creation of visual content for various communications materials using Canva

Skills and Qualifications:

• Interest in non-profit fundraising and development
• Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and/or Google Suite
• Design experience or knowledge of using Canva (not essential)

About the Role:

As a Specialist Multiple Disadvantage Worker, you will be responsible for delivering targeted, person-centred interventions for individuals within SHP’s Camden Adult Pathway Hostels. Your role will involve holding a designated caseload and working closely with the wider client group through our in-house recovery programme. With a strong focus on harm minimisation, dual diagnosis, and strengths/recovery frameworks, you’ll help to empower service users to make positive changes and progress towards independence.

This is a unique role that requires you to build relationships of trust with service users, many of whom have faced significant barriers such as mental health challenges, substance use, and complex trauma. Your support will enable them to access crucial assessments, interventions, and treatments, enhancing their ability to utilise external statutory and community resources. You will also provide guidance and best practice standards to Project Workers, helping to set a benchmark of excellence in delivering complex needs support.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide specialist interventions and personalised support for service users, including those with complex needs such as mental health issues, substance use, and physical health challenges.
• Develop and implement person-centred support plans, monitor individual progress, and ensure best practice is adhered to within the service.
• Work dynamically with service managers, project workers, and other professionals within the Camden Accommodation Pathway to deliver tailored interventions and improve outcomes for service users.
• Foster proactive working relationships with Adult Social Care, Health, Mental Health, and other specialist providers to improve access and opportunities for service users.
• Advocate for service users with experience of rough sleeping, helping them access the necessary assessment, intervention, and treatment to achieve recovery and maintain stability.
• Facilitate group work and support the in-house recovery programme, promoting a holistic approach to recovery and independence.

About You:

• Demonstrable experience working with individuals facing homelessness or complex needs, such as mental health challenges, substance use, and physical health issues. Experience in residential or accommodation-based services is a plus.
• A strong understanding of the health and social care sector, including how to navigate between and across specialties. A deep understanding of the barriers service users face on their journey towards independence, such as domestic violence, anger management, and learning impairments.
• Excellent person-centred engagement skills, group work facilitation, and the ability to manage complex caseloads. Strong team-working skills with the ability to collaborate effectively with other professionals.
• The ability to create, develop, and implement support plans, with strong time management skills and the ability to work independently, prioritise competing demands, and maintain high standards.
• A passion for supporting some of the most vulnerable individuals in our society and the resilience to work within a challenging but rewarding environment. You will also have the ability to critically reflect on your own practice and continuously strive for improvement.
