The Role 

JLGB are recruiting a Finance & Fundraising Coordinator who will play a vital role in helping the charity achieve its financial, fundraising and organisational objectives. Supporting the Director of Operations & Finance, the role is essential for the smooth running of the charity’s finances, collaborating with teams across JLGB, as well as volunteers and external suppliers. With some support from JLGB’s administration team, you will be undertaking all financial transactions including payment runs, bank and income reconciliations. Managing our donor database, ensuring that Gift Aid is collected regularly. The position will be suitable for someone who has experience in these areas and is flexible, reliable, highly numerate and interested in working to support young people to reach their potential. 

Responsibilities will include:

• Processing and reconciling various financial administrative tasks, including petty cash and incoming card payments (via stripe and other card processors) 

• Providing effective financial administrative support to all JLGB programmes and functions 

• Providing support to the Finance Director and assisting with management accounts 

• Preparing expenditure reports for the senior leadership team, finance sub-committee, Trustee Board, funders and stakeholders 

• Validating and processing weekly expenses 

• Ensuring that Gift Aid is collected on a regular basis 

• Managing our Donor Database 

• Supporting with Income generation and fundraising events. 

• Supporting the delivery of the year-end financial reporting 

• Ensuring that financial documents are filed 

• Supporting audit processes to demonstrate compliance 

• Maintaining accounts and generating invoices on QuickBooks computer software 

• Overseeing debtor analysis and recovery 

• Contributing to the development and maintenance of financial systems and processes 

• Managing external suppliers, supplier accounts and purchases  

• Supporting other members of the administration team whenever necessary

Person specification 
We are looking for some of the following attributes in the successful applicant, you may be more experienced in some areas than others.  We are interested in experience that’s both job-related or gained through other areas of your life. Training and support will be given in any areas required. 

• A relevant finance qualification eg AAT, ACCA, CIMA or currently working towards one 

• Experience using QuickBooks or similar accounting and reporting systems and advanced excel. 

• Substantial experience of bookkeeping and processing payments

• Understanding of Accounting Principles 

• The ability to initiate and maintain systems 

• Confident and polite telephone manner for debt recovery and supplier procurement 

• Ability to pro-actively engage with internal and external stakeholders up to Senior Management level 

• Ability to present financial information and make it understandable to non-finance stakeholders

• Excellent organisation skills and attention to detail 

• Work well autonomously and as part of a wider team

• Excellent proficiency/advanced Excel 

• Good communication skills 

• Commitment to providing services and programmes for young Jewish people

As a Stock Transport Driver, you will be responsible for moving donations, including clothing for Scope Retail Area 18 across Devon, Cornwall and Somerset.

You will deliver a great customer experience to our donators when collecting or delivering donations. 

We will ask you to keep your vehicle and stock secure plus plan for routine maintenance and repairs.

About you

As a Scope Stock Transport Driver, you’ll need a full, clean driving licence with a willingness to undertake relevant training.

You’ll enjoy delivering great customer service and have a professional, courteous manner with the general public.

You must also be able to able to lift heavy and/or bulky items and happy to be trained in the use of lifting equipment for very heavy items.

You’ll enjoy being out and about working outdoors, in all weathers, travelling far and wide in your area.

Role Requirements

• Support planning and changes in the administration of children and young people’s timetable for children and family services.
• Support with photocopying of notes for subject access/ solicitor requests (SARS).
• Manage the SARS and redacting process with appropriate members of the Therapies teams.
• Update logs and coordinate the Clinical and Safeguarding Supervision across the Therapies teams, escalating non-compliance where required.
• Monitor mandatory training compliance and administer booking processes for all relevant training sessions/course.
• Coordinating specialist clinics, including spine and hip clinics; liaising with the Physiotherapy team to ensure the correct children are on the schedule. Liaison with external Consultants to organise the clinic lists.
• Carry out audiotyping of clinic letters and distribute as required.
• Update absences within the teams onto the SMI (staff care) system, as requested by the Heads of Service.
• Place orders for any required equipment and/or resources for departments and for the children and young people as deemed necessary.
• Take overview of clinical asset ordering, linking with the clinical assets team and management system, in line with MHRA guidelines and the medical devices policy.
• Track and monitor equipment orders with Heads of service, escalate delays and provide a central overview for all equipment re-charges and ordering.
• Raise and receipt PO’s and invoices for the therapies directorate and liaise closely with the finance team.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

With experience of working in a complex environment, across a large and diverse workforce, you will be exceptionally organised with a high-level of attention to detail. You will naturally possess excellent inter-personal skills, and an ability to consult and positively engage with key stakeholders across the organisation.

The required skills and abilities include the ability to work on multiple projects, excellent IT skills, effective communication, and the ability to build strong relationships.
Desirable qualifications include PRINCE2, Agile Project Management, and Managing Successful Programmes.

The Recruitment team is responsible for sourcing, selecting and hiring for 500 places for Approach Social Work (previously known as the Frontline programme) in local authorities across England.

We think the internship at Frontline is unlike other internships. You’ll be given plenty of opportunity to develop key skills for your future career, while also holding a core role within the team. You will be joining us at our busiest time and so will have day to day coordinator responsibilities throughout the year. This makes it a great first step into your career as you’ll have real practical examples to take forward. You will work with the Selection Manager and Selection Officers to ensure the delivery of a highly effective and efficient recruitment process and to ensure the candidate experience is positive throughout.

Some key responsibilities include:

• Facilitate at Approach Social Work assessment centres, supporting assessors and sharing responsibility for ensuring days run smoothly and consistently​
• Manage the logistics involved in planning and delivering over 40 assessment centre days (e.g. responding to candidate queries, monitoring candidate sign up, scheduling assessors)​
• Act as first point of contact for candidates experiencing technical difficulties with IT systems used as part of selection process.

A little bit about you 

The role would suit a recent graduate with experience in event planning, logistics coordination, or customer service. We’re looking for someone who is detail-oriented and excels at managing multiple tasks and priorities. The ideal candidate will be a strong communicator who can support candidates through the selection process, troubleshoot technical issues, and ensure smooth operations at assessment centers.

You will have excellent communication skills, be able to build relationships with people and be willing to learn. An exciting position has arisen for a Head of Finance to join an excellent Community focused Charity on a permanent basis.

The postholder will be reporting directly to the CEO and will be part of the executive team.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead, manage and improve the Trust’s finance function and provide accurate, timely and relevant financial reports as required by the CEO
• Be the Executive Lead of the Finance Audit and Risk Committee, ensuring timely papers to the CEO and to the Committee and Board as required
• Ensure the provision and reporting of financial accounts, forecasting and large-scale project/programme budgets
• Oversight of the legal and financial statutory processes in line with the Charity Commission and Companies House requirements, including the annual audit
• Allocating tasks for timely responses and keeping all colleagues abreast of progress
• Monitor, cash flow, reserves, analysis of performance against the organisation’s annual business plan and dashboard as it relates to the finance function
• Contribute to the overall leadership of the Trust’s future strategic and operational planning
• Direct line management of 3 staff, indirectly manage 7
• Ensuring an excellent service to all budget managers, enabling them to make effective use of all systems and monitor and manage their income and expenditure
• To attend the Executive Team meetings and provide reports

Successful candidate profile:

• Qualified Accountant (ACCA/CIMA/ACA)
• Significant track record in a Head of Finance / FD role for a Charity
• Experience of implementing enhanced reporting tools
• Experience of cost-effective procurement in line with policy
• Extensive staff management experience

The Rugby Portobello Trust (RPT) is a North Kensington charity that has been supporting children, young people and families from all across west London since 1884. Through arts, sport, music, mentoring and support in academics, employment, mental health and wellbeing, we help children and young people in our community to overcome barriers to reach their full potential. This is a really exciting time for the charity as we celebrate our 140th anniversary and look towards our next phase of development to ensure we’re offering the best possible support to the next generation in our community. To do this, we are recruiting for a Director of Youth and Family Services to lead and manage operational service delivery and the delivery of our outreach and community engagement in and around west London. The Director will ensure the delivery of excellent services through innovation and co-production and foster an organisational culture that strengthens our brand and stays true to the values and mission of RPT and P3 Charity. You will embed a people-first, values-based ethos and maintain an environment where safeguarding is central. You will support the retention and development of both existing and new programmes in conjunction with the Director of Fundraising & Communications and in line with the values and strategic vision of the organisation. In addition, you will be an integral member of P3’s Senior Leadership Team, manage a number of operational leads, and work closely with the Chief Operating Officer to support the development and long-term vision of RPT and P3 Charity.

The successful candidate will have grass roots experience relating to youth work with an understanding of the challenges that face young people. In addition you will have experience of developing and delivering youth/family services having worked at a senior and strategic level. You will have led on change management and transformation projects, with demonstrable experience of managing and leading teams effectively. A people person at heart, you will enjoy working in a busy, vibrant environment with the ability to build relationships at all levels and be confident acting as an ambassador for the charity. You will be solutions focused and well versed in providing operational leadership in a similar environmental, with a good understand of the complexities and challenges that face a youth/community organisation such as RPT. You will ensure the wellbeing and safety of all stakeholders and staff and be able to demonstrate experience of having done this previously in a leadership role.
