About EduSpots

EduSpots is a dynamic, community-driven UK and Ghana-registered charity that connects, trains, and equips volunteer community educators (known as ‘Catalysts’) to drive grassroots educational change. These efforts center around the creation and operation of community-led ‘Spots’—innovative education spaces benefiting learners of all ages.

Founded in 2016, EduSpots has grown to support 50 communities through 400 local Catalysts who play a central leadership role. We believe in a community-led model that can be adapted globally. Our Ghana-based team facilitates three leadership programmes—Ignite, Catalyse, and Inspire Mentoring—enabling Catalysts to run clubs focused on early-years education, digital literacy, STEM/environmental education, and gender equity, ultimately reaching over 15,000 learners each year.

EduSpots’ rapid growth has been recognized through accolades like the Tes International Award (2018) and the Big Give Supporters’ Choice Award (2022). We were recently a finalist for the 2023 Their World Scale-Up Innovation Prize, and our Founder was a finalist for the UNESCO-backed Varkey Foundation’s Global Teacher Prize. We are now expanding our model, supported by independent evaluation findings and prestigious accelerator programs, as we explore its global potential.

About the Role

EduSpots is seeking a Global Philanthropy Manager—an engaging, dynamic, and proven fundraising specialist who will play a key part in our next phase of growth. As we continue to expand, we need an individual with a track record of securing income from trusts and foundations, ideally at the 5- to 6-figure level (GBP), and the ability to cultivate new funding partnerships.

In the past two years, we have doubled our income and expanded our programmes significantly. We are now poised for further growth and need someone who understands the value of community-driven change. You will collaborate closely with our CEO, Ghana-based Heads of Programmes, and Head of Operations to develop funding proposals and nurture donor relationships at a strategic level.

Depending on experience and availability, this role may involve overseeing a small part-time fundraising team (including a Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, and Communications Manager). In time, the position could evolve into a Head of Fundraising role.

Key Responsibilities

1. Global Fundraising Strategy

   • Develop and execute an overarching fundraising strategy targeting medium-to-large, multi-year commitments from trusts, foundations, major donors, and (potentially) corporate partners.

   • Work closely with the CEO and leadership team to secure high-value partnerships.

2. Strategic Proposal Development

   • Collaborate with the CEO, Heads of Programmes, and Head of Operations to craft compelling organisational and programme-focused bids.

   • Contribute to EduSpots’ broader strategic development, aligning funding proposals with our organisational goals.

3. Donor Cultivation and Stewardship

   • Establish and maintain efficient donor identification, cultivation, and tracking systems.

   • Coordinate with the CEO and board members to leverage their networks for new funding opportunities.

   • Create bespoke stewardship plans that demonstrate the impact of donor support and build lasting relationships.

4. Communications and Networking

   • Work with the CEO and Communications Manager to develop a compelling case for support and accompanying engagement materials.

   • Actively represent EduSpots in relevant networks to increase our visibility among potential donors.

5. Donor Relationship Management

   • Oversee relationships with major donors, trusts, and foundations, including grant reporting and ongoing communications.

   • Manage donor databases and ensure accurate record-keeping.

6. Monitoring and Compliance

   • Track philanthropic trends to strengthen EduSpots’ fundraising effectiveness.

   • Ensure compliance with all relevant international fundraising regulations and ethical standards.

7. Team Leadership (Depending on Experience/Availability)

   • Potentially manage and mentor a small part-time fundraising team (Fundraising Manager, Trusts and Foundations Manager, Communications Manager), ensuring alignment with organisational objectives.

8. General Duties

   • Contribute to overall strategy development, annual business planning, and budgeting.

   • Carry out all administrative tasks related to the role accurately and efficiently.

   • Comply with all EduSpots’ policies and procedures.

   • Undertake other reasonable duties as required.

Skills, Experience, and Attributes

Essential

• Proven track record of income generation, ideally within education or international development.

• Extensive experience writing successful grant applications (5- to 6-figure GBP).

• Strong background in cultivating and managing relationships with trusts, foundations, and other grant-makers.

• Knowledge of a broad range of UK-based funders and some familiarity with international (European/US) funders.

• Understanding of programme development and management, ideally in an education context.

• Some experience in communications/marketing within an NGO setting.

• Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with strong interpersonal abilities to engage diverse stakeholders.

• Ability to work autonomously in a remote role with minimal day-to-day supervision.

• Strong IT skills (Word, Excel, Google Drive, etc.).

• Deeply aligned with EduSpots’ values, including a commitment to community leadership, sustainable change, teamwork, play, passion, and care.

Desirable

• Experience managing a team and overseeing their performance.

• Familiarity with corporate partnerships, individual giving, and fundraising campaigns.

About the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Dementia UK as a Clinics Administrator, providing administrative support to the Clinics team and the wider Delivered Services function.

Working closely with the Clinics Programme Lead and the Clinical Operations Support Manager within the Clinical Effectiveness team, the postholder will support the day-to-day running of various administrative processes and procedures, ensuring safe and effective service delivery to beneficiaries. This will involve liaising with both internal and external stakeholders as required.

As the first point of contact for all queries relating to the Clinics team via email, you will be responsible for the day-to-day administration of the online clinics featured on the Dementia UK website. You will set up and maintain online booking systems to support Delivered Services clinic programmes, which are currently undergoing significant expansion. The role will also involve booking travel, accommodation and venues for clinics and related activities, as well as completing finance processes in support of associated expenditure.

To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrable experience in administrative support roles and managing booking systems, be a clear and logical thinker, with experience in developing and implementing processes. You will be highly proficient in using Office 365 and able to produce high-quality documents, including complex reports and correspondence. Experience in project management and the use of project management software would also be an advantage.

Role Summary

Southwark Cathedral has been a place of Christian worship for over 1400 years. Now it stands on the vibrant and exciting regenerated south bank of the Thames surrounded by cultural venues such as Tate Modern, Shakespeare’s Globe and Borough Market, the offices of major companies as well as schools and diverse residential communities. It is an inclusive Christian community that offers a welcome to all.

The Cathedral’s mission, ministry and musical tradition are core to its life as a Cathedral and a parish church serving the community. It also relies on the valuable financial contribution made by its income generating activities such as its shop, café, conference rooms, corporate events and concerts. It is a very busy place, attracting 200,000 visitors a year to the Cathedral, its churchyard and medieval herb garden. The Cathedral relies on a small but dedicated team to be inclusive and welcoming to all.

The Executive Assistant (EA) will provide support to the Chief Operation Officer (COO) to assist them in the effective functioning of all governance, human resources and operational arrangements at the Cathedral.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

Support for the COO

• Lead the coordination, preparation, planning and follow up for the COO’s briefing for and attendance at meetings associated with the governance of the Cathedral, including Chapter, Finance Committee, Audit & Risk Committee, Nominations Committee, Fabric Advisory Committee and Board of Enterprises.
• Undertake research and assisting in the drafting and review of papers for such meetings. Minute taking will not usually be required (but may be requested from time to time in liaison with members of staff usually responsible for the minutes);
• Support the COO in all their working relationships including building and maintaining excellent relationships with Chapter Members and Committee Members, the Bishop’s staff and with the wider Diocese, as well as with neighbours, contractors, commercial partners and professional advisers;
• Draft briefs and management reports;
• Assist in the research, writing and preparation of the Cathedral’s Annual Report;
• Assist with the drafting and submission of Cathedral-wide documents, such as the Cathedrals Survey, Peer Review etc.
• Assist with the development of the Cathedral’s strategy and supporting reports and documents;
• Assist the COO with national, royal and high-profile civic events planning;
• Provide general administrative assistance in the context of a busy office;
• Promote the mission, purpose and values of the Cathedral;
• Any other responsibilities as may reasonably be required;

Senior Leadership Team & Diary

• Prepare Senior Leadership Team (SLT) meeting agendas and supporting documents, handling arrangements for meetings (Zoom when needed);
• Attend SLT meetings, track actions and report where relevant on items;
• Collate proposals for events from the Head of Events and Head of Visitor Engagement which need SLT approval and include them under SLT standing item on the agenda;
• On behalf of SLT, chair the weekly operational run-through of the Diary Meeting with Heads of Department and other staff;
• Manage the Cathedral diary in coordination with the Estates Manager – make in-house bookings, input the annual liturgical schedule, make alterations arising from the Diary Meeting;
• Act as the Cathedral’s key contact for the Metropolitan Police’s Southwark Counter Terrorism PROTECT Team – provide them with information (proactively and when requested) on Cathedral events and services of interest to the Police.
  

HR

Recruitment

Support the COO with co-ordination of recruitment for new Cathedral and Southwark Cathedral Enterprises Limited staff, in line with Safer Recruitment best practice;

• Co-ordinate the creation of job descriptions with direction from the COO & Director of HR, in liaison with the relevant Head of Department and line manager for the role being recruited;
• Manage the Cathedral’s recruitment processes – identifying platforms for advertisement, arranging short-listing and interview panels, featuring on shortlisting panels where required;
• Lead with preparations for interview – book rooms, invite candidates to interview, arrange testing and advise on test materials where needed, prepare and advise on interview questions;
• Where required, take part in interview panels;
• Manage the appointment process for new starters – communicate process outcomes to applicants (appointment and rejection communications), pursue references, complete pre-employment checks, liaise with colleagues on DBS check requirements;
• Assist with contract drafting for new appointments in liaison with the COO & Director of HR;
• Manage the induction process for new starters – IT set-up requirements, identification and access cards, ensure a desk space is in place for starters prior to arrival, give starters an IT induction and introduction to the Cathedral diary, familiarise new starters with the Staff Handbook, arrange health & safety inductions with the Property team and introductory meetings with relevant members of staff, and liaise with the Visitor Engagement Officer to enrol new starters on the next available staff tour of the Cathedral;
• Assist the Finance team by obtaining new starter financial information, HMRC Starter Forms and other necessary enrolment information.

Operational HR Support

Human Resources Administration for Staff

• Manage the Cathedral’s digital HR system (Mentor) – be responsible for creating and updating staff profiles, setting up each new leave year, monitoring annual leave & sick leave (reporting on these for KPI and audit purposes where necessary) and being the point of contact for staff who have queries on how to use the system;
• Communicate staff annual leave entitlement and respond to staff queries on leave;   
• Support the Finance team with provision of HR information pertaining to the annual audit and insurance cover, e.g. staff numbers, requested contracts, annual leave summaries;
• Assist the COO with drafting of HR documentation/correspondence;
• Work with the Finance team on the provision of Annual Pay Review letters for all staff;
• Keep the Cathedral’s hard copy and digital HR filing systems up to date, in accordance with GDPR best practice;
• Assist the COO with HR audits;
• Support the COO and Director of HR with the rolling update of the Staff Handbook and Cathedral policies pertaining to HR;
• Develop and use process checklists for the HR function, including recruitment, induction, appraisal and exit;
• Oversee the administration of the appraisal and performance management process – liaise with managers to provide templates, resources and advice and ensure these are completed on time and to a high standard;
• Record staff training;
• Liaise with the Diocesan Director of HR for advice and support when queries relating to staff or HR situations arise.

Person Specification

Terms and Conditions

Working Hours

The working hours shall be 35 per hours a week, exclusive of meal breaks. Some out of hours working will be required to support meetings and events and this will be notified in advance. Time off in lieu will be awarded in line with Southwark Cathedral’s policy.

Annual Leave

25 days paid leave per annum including statutory bank holidays and an extra day at Christmas.

Probation

The appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of a six-month probationary period.

Season ticket loan

Once the probationary period has been completed satisfactorily, the person appointed will be eligible to take out a season ticket loan.

Pension

The person appointed will be eligible to join a defined contributions pension scheme managed by the Church Workers Pension Fund. The Cathedral will contribute half of the annual premium of 10% of salary.

Working Expenses

Reasonable out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed.

Job title: Fundraising Manager

Type of contract: Fixed term contract – 12 months – with scope of extending this

Personal Outlook: The post-holder must have a strong commitment to the voluntary sector and a desire to make a real difference to the lives of asylum seekers and refugees. This role is suited for someone target – driven, with excellent writing skills and great attention to detail. They will be working closely with the CEO, an external fundraiser, the Welcome Centre and Operations Lead, as well as our Finance, Admin and Communications officer. The post holder will be responsible for building on a strong foundation of support from Trusts, Foundations and other grant-making bodies, will cultivate and develop strong relationships with grant-givers to grow our income and support our organisational aims.

About Borderlands fundraising: So far Borderlands’ grant fundraising work has been led by a freelance fundraiser working 3-4 days a month (“Grants and Trusts Fundraiser” in the organisational chart). The Fundraising Manager will work in partnership with them and divide the role and responsibilities according to experience and capacity. Currently, most of our income is from grants; our key funders include the Henry Smith Charity, Garfield Weston Foundation, John James Foundation, Bristol Impact Fund and Nisbet Trust. This is the first time Borderlands is recruiting for an in-house fundraiser role. In addition to working on grant applications and reports, the manager will support the Finance, Admin and Communication Officer with local giving and developing corporate partnerships.

The independent gender violence advocate will work closely with victims of gender-based violence from the point of crisis, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children.

Working within a multi-agency framework to increase the ability of partner agencies to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial, and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and honour-based violence). 

This post is restricted to women due to the nature of the role. The Occupational Requirement under Schedule 9 (part 1) of the Equality Act 2010 applies.

This role focusses on raising funds for Bowel Research UKs medical research projects and work that focuses on patient and public involvement. Funds raised will be a mix of restricted project funding and unrestricted funds that can support the organisations core operations.

You will need to work closely with colleagues in Research and Patient & Public Involvement to ensure you have a strong understanding of current funding needs and research successes. You will take the lead on seeking out new prospects and nurturing existing relationships to significantly grow income. You will achieve this by researching sources of funding, devising individually tailored applications, maintaining excellent communications with existing and potential donor trusts and foundations, delivering an agreed income target as well as growing funding from these sources.

The role will include researching relevant opportunities, identifying the most appropriate projects, writing and submitting applications and ensuring excellent donor management, development and reporting. Trusts and Foundations income is a cornerstone of Bowel Research UKs charitable income each year and is responsible for around a third of fundraised income. The organisation has assessed the trusts' function recently, the outcome of which shows that there is scope to significantly grow this area of activity. Full support will be given to the Trust Fundraising Manager to enable this growth to happen.

You will be a motivated self-starter able to write, budget and communicate effectively. You will develop relationships with ease and feel able to positively influence colleagues at all levels of an organisation. The position requires someone with a positive attitude who is determined and resilient.

Main duties of the job

We are recruiting for a Health Independent Gender Violence Advocate (IGVA) who will provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children, with a focus on clients who have additional vulnerabilities due to health concerns. In this role you will work with Southwark health agencies with a focus on Southwark GP Practices to provide high quality independent advocacy and support to survivors of gender-based violence at the highest risk and their children.

This role will be part of increasing the ability of partner agencies, including those in health to recognise, reject and respond appropriately and safely to all forms of gender-based violence (including domestic violence, sexual, financial, and emotional abuse, female genital mutilation, forced marriage and so called ‘honour’ based violence). As part of this role, you will be required to regularly attend GP practices and other health settings to meet with survivors and provide training to health professionals. You will be working alongside Named GPs in Safeguarding Children and Adults at Risk, and Lead GPs, to support practices and provide training.

The Role

The Head of Digital Infrastructure will be a pivotal member of the leadership team, managing the charity’s operational digital infrastructure, enabling a seamless interface between staff, technology and systems, and leading on the development and delivery of the Charity’s IT strategy. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Operations, the post-holder will be responsible for the operation of Wonderseekers’ IT infrastructure, including its digital platforms, box office system and digital planetarium, as well as cyber security measures, identifying opportunities for improvement and innovation throughout.

The role requires a hands-on approach, balancing day to day system administration with the management of IT contracts and digital tools such as databases. You will also take ownership of the digital exhibits, part of the wider, hands-on family friendly visitor attraction at Winchester Science Centre and be the Charity expert on the operation of the digital planetarium system.

This role is part of a growing team and you will be responsible for the recruitment, training and development of an IT apprentice to support the delivery of the service.

Through supporting our digital offer and the smooth operations of the Charity, this role offers an exciting opportunity to make a real impact within a dynamic and purpose driven organisation.

Key Objectives

· To support the charity delivering on its charitable objectives by providing effective IT support, including box office/ticketing solutions and the Charity’s websites

· To be the technical lead in the delivery of projects.

· Diagnose and resolve IT support issues.

· Ensure that the Charity has effective IT security systems and policies to protect systems from internal failure and external attack.

· To assist with the hardware, software and systems administration and maintenance of Office 365, Azure etc.

· To build and develop working relationships throughout the organisation and with external stakeholders to deliver effective infrastructure solutions.

Key Responsibilities

Managing Operational Infrastructure:

· Manage the Wonderseekers IT infrastructure and support contract to ensure cost effective and high quality service delivery.

· Support the successful launch and on-going operation of key digital infrastructure used across the charity, including databases, SharePoint sites, cloud based applications, planetarium and exhibits.

· Work collaboratively with the Commercial Operations team, external web developer and software provider to ensure delivery of an exceptional customer experience from landing on the Charity website to completion of a ticket purchase, minimising downtime wherever possible.

· Troubleshoot IT platform-related issues and liaise with developers when needed.

· Identify opportunities for operational improvement and innovation, and present these to senior stakeholders.

· Oversee and maintain IT infrastructure, ensuring high availability, security, and optimal performance, working with the Estates team and Technicians where required.

· Manage cloud services, IT providers and hardware procurement to support organisational needs.

· Implement and enforce IT policies and best practices.

· Work collaboratively with the People and Culture team to manage digital processes associated with new starters / leavers.

· Ad hoc tasks to support the smooth running of Wonderseekers and delivery of the charity’s strategy.

Digital Platform Management:

· Maintain and enhance Wonderseekers internal staff communications platform to improve user experience and efficiency.

· Identify and implement system upgrades, customisations, and integrations to meet staff needs.

· Provide training and support to staff on platform usage and IT best practices.

Project Management:

· Lead operational projects aimed at improving internal operations efficiency and/or technology integration.

· Manage timelines, budgets, and resources for IT and digital infrastructure projects.

· Be point of contact for new ideas and operations initiatives across the Charity to ensure these are shared in a cohesive and structured manner.

· Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure project alignment with organisational goals.

· Monitor and report on key performance metrics related to IT and operations.

· Identify and implement solutions to operational challenges to enhance productivity.

Cybersecurity and Risk Management:

· Drive cybersecurity improvements by implementing best practices and proactive security measures.

· Ensure compliance with data protection regulations and industry standards.

· Conduct regular security assessments and risk analysis to safeguard IT infrastructure, sensitive information and Charitable delivery.
