As the Training and Support Worker, you will play a pivotal part in the development of our programmes and training, through sharing partner insight, understanding the latest evidence and landscape of workplace inclusivity and keeping abreast of other providers in this space. You will be required to travel regularly to deliver face to face training within the community, education settings and workplaces.
You will have a track record of working within learning, development, community engagement or similar, ideally with experience of supporting communities with additional needs.
You will be a strong, passionate, and inspiring facilitator, driven to deliver impactful training. You will be a skilled communicator, confident in using a variety of methods to engage and empower others from a broad range of backgrounds and settings.

Overview
To date, Global Dialogue’s finances has been overseen by an external accountancy firm. Over the last eighteen months, we have been working towards bringing our finance function in house. This role presents an exciting opportunity for an experienced accountant to take the reins and complete the development and roll out of our internal finance function.
The Head of Finance is a new role within the organisation that is both strategic and handson. In the first phase, the postholder will be required to roll up their sleeves and, with the support of Global Dialogue’s Finance Officer, get stuck into the detail of financial administration, including overseeing twice monthly pay runs, monthly and quarterly closes, and other day-to-day financial management tasks. Alongside this, the role will lead on bringing the finance function fully in house, eventually taking on full responsibility for the preparation of management and statutory accounts, cashflow and FX management, and budgeting and forecasting processes. This role will play a key coaching role for the Finance Officer, with a view to eventually delegating all bookkeeping tasks. The postholder will also be responsible for ensuring finance systems are innovative, robust and fit for purpose, and will be a business partner to our hosted programmes, providing advice on compliance and strategic matters.
Global Dialogue’s role as an international fiscal host means that we have a complex financial model, receive income from diverse streams and manage a high number of restricted funds. Our programmes lead cutting edge work, which means that our work is varied and fastpaced, requiring frequent innovation. About you
Have a proven track record of successful fundraising within a UK charity preferably working at national level, in one or more of these areas: individuals, corporates , legacies, community.
You have excellent communication skills and can work across a wide range of audiences in a clear and confident manner.
You are highly motivated and able to work independently to develop and implement fundraising strategies.
You are well organised and are able to plan and prioritise working to multiple deadlines as well as being able to develop effective systems to monitor progress,
You have a demonstrable commitment and understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion. An understanding of the NHS and the midwifery sector and an understanding of the social and structural drivers of health inequalities would be desirable but not essential.

Who you are
A talented operator who has experience in the commercial world of hospitality (catering and licensed), retail experience would be a bonus, either within a Students’ Union or a high street operator.
You will have held roles where you can demonstrate a vast knowledge of operating commercial outlets whilst controlling costs, managing margins, and delivering great operating standards.
Understanding the market is key as you’ll be helping our member students’ unions to interpret current trends and develop them into successful action within member commercial operations.
Having a good eye for detail and understanding the need for compliance comes easy to you, along with the skill to challenge where non-compliance may be apparent, so you’ll have strong interpersonal and influencing skills and be a good communicator.

About the role
The Exchange is looking for a talented, enthusiastic, and hard-working Head Gardener with a flair for plants, experience of working with communities, and a keen interest in Sarah Price’s naturalistic approach to gardens. The Head Gardener is responsible for the maintenance and nurturing of the garden, which was planted by local residents, and in developing a programme for volunteers that supports with this maintenance. Key responsibilities include:
- Ongoing care and maintenance of the plants and garden to ensure the successful development of the garden in line with Sarah Price’s vision.
- Liaising with Sarah Price Landscapes about changes, upkeep, and development of the garden.
- Helping co-ordinate with Sarah Price and The Exchange any additional planting.
- Creation of opportunities for interaction with the public who visit the garden.
- Establish and manage The Exchange’s sustainable compost programme.
- Plant/equipment/materials ordering.
- Developing and caring for the pelargonium collection in the greenhouse
- Propagating plants for sale and use in the garden.
Volunteer management
Community involvement is an essential part of what we do at The Exchange. Currently this involves a growing Volunteer Programme, where people come and learn skills from talented craftspeople, becoming part of “Making Communities”, in exchange for giving time in creating things For Community Use and/or Benefit.
In relation to the garden, volunteers are supported through skills development and learning opportunities and give their time towards the garden’s ongoing maintenance and/or enabling wider public interaction. Participation in this programme also creates other benefits including social and wellbeing. We believe that time spent with volunteers/local community sharing skills and experience is an important investment and it will be your responsibility to ensure the volunteer team is supported and valued.Key responsibilities include:
- Developing and maintaining a group of volunteers to assist in the garden.
- Providing supervision and guidance to the volunteer team on practical horticultural tasks.
- Ensuring health and safety procedures are followed.

You will provide on-going support and supervision to skilled, diverse volunteers, and work hard to build and maintain links with referring partners throughout our communities, ensuring holistic support for families.

As needs are identified, you will work together with our team of Family Support Co-ordinators to develop and facilitate supportive groups and activities for families.

The Role
We are seeking a dynamic and visionary Head of Marketing & Digital Engagement to lead our efforts in inspiring, engaging, and empowering communities, volunteers, and supporters across the UK. This is a critical new role, focused on implementing and operationalising our new strategy, enhancing our reach, and building the foundations for our future growth. The role offers the opportunity to lead the development of Trees for Cities’ first national digital engagement strategy, ensuring we build strong connections with communities and supporters through creative campaigns and digital platforms.

In the role of Visitor Experience Supervisor, you will be leading from the front to ensure every aspect of our visitor journey is enjoyable and safe. You will work with all departments to ensure the balance of visitor experience and collection protection is maintained. You will also manage the team to maximise their potential and engage with our customers.
The two positions will initially be allocated to support either events or compliance, to support the operational team and liaise with stakeholders as needed.

As a Visitor Experience Supervisor, you will have a variety of roles which will include:
- Actively engaging the front of house (FoH) team of Visitor Experience Assistants (VEA) and volunteers, and staff and volunteers from other departments, to provide an exceptional visitor experience, excelling in customer service and interaction, and assist the empowerment of others to deliver the same aims and objectives
- As nominated the post holder will lead on specific areas of the FoH team’s work, engaging with other teams as required. Supervise the front of house activities of VEAs and volunteers. Ensure the delivery of appropriate customer care and presentational standards in accordance with the expectations of the Museum.
- Being expected to manage/oversee the performance, development and welfare of a subset of VEAs and/or volunteers, and may themselves be required to undertake routine VEA duties when cover is required. manage, coach and support VEAs in the delivery of a first-class visitor experience
- Acting as the Site Coordinator in emergencies and the Duty Manager when required to do so
- Helping to ensure that all front of house staff are customer-focused, motivated and empowered
- Ensuring the support/ delivery of front of house sales and fundraising activities to maximise financial return and meet specified targets
- Ensuring that agreed safety, security and surveillance measures are being followed. Report all incidents and ‘near misses’ to the appropriate person
- Utilising available staff resources flexibly to meet the needs of the business. Ensure that appropriate front of house staff resources are available on the day to support corporate, public and formal events, and provide general logistical support
- Supporting and implementing museum initiatives re environmental sustainability

Hackney has a longstanding reputation of being open and welcoming to migrants, refugees and people seeking asylum - both as a Council and a community. The London Borough of Hackney is committed to ensuring people arriving in Hackney feel welcome and safe and can access the support that is available.
Currently 800 people are seeking asylum in Hackney, and Welcome Hackney provides access to timely and effective support while they await the outcome of their claim. Hackney has also welcomed over 400 Ukrainians since 2022, as well as a number of Afghan families through the UK’s resettlement schemes.
This role sits within the Welcome Hackney (Refugee, Migrant and Asylum Seeker) Service. The postholder will manage three support workers who provide direct support to refugees, migrants, and people seeking asylum in Hackney. The purpose of the role will be to ensure that migrants in Hackney have access to timely and effective support, to coordinate workload allocation across the three support workers, and ensure that we are providing a service that is trauma-informed, strengths-based, and aligns with anti-racist practice. The postholder will also lead on the delivery of our Welcome Hub, a weekly drop in open to all migrants in the borough, including coordinating support provision, overseeing logistics of hub operations, and involving internal and external stakeholders.
Skills & experience:
• Experience working with refugees, migrants and/or people seeking asylum, and of the challenges that can be faced - particularly with experience of homelessness prevention and alleviation
• Experience of developing and managing teams that advocate for, and takes account of, the needs of diverse stakeholder groups.

Responsibilities & Key Tasks
- Support a caseload of companions to reach their potential through both practical and emotional support.
- Tailor support plans to meet individual need - setting goals, assigning actions, working with other providers and considering the person’s holistic needs.
- Guide induction and exit processes for companions - to ensure that they understand the core principles of the offer at Emmaus and move on to long term, sustainable accommodation after us.
- Support with incident response - including anti-social behaviour, mental health concerns, challenging behaviour - using de-escalation techniques to manage behavior as it arises.
- Liaise with external providers such as the Community Mental Health Team, General Practitioners, DWP, probation, prisons and CAB to ensure specialist advice and guidance is sought where needed.
- Contribute to the planning and introduction of varied and meaningful activities for companions at Emmaus Hertfordshire.
- Ensure Safeguarding concerns are raised at the earliest opportunity through appropriate channels..
- Attend appointments online or in person with companions.

About you:
We are seeking someone who is comfortable and experienced working in a small company or charity, understanding that our capacity and resources are limited. A 'can do' attitude and a motivated approach are essential. While direct experience with homelessness may not be necessary, you should have a solid understanding of the common challenges faced by those who have been homeless. Attention to detail is essential, as is the ability to identify and promptly address risks or safeguarding concerns. Empathy, attentive listening, and strong verbal communication skills are also key requirements. Proficiency with IT and the ability to maintain up-to-date records in our database are necessary. Additionally, you should have the tools to maintain your well-being in what can be a challenging but rewarding role. You will need to demonstrate and build the resilience required to work with individuals who may struggle to engage with services like ours and think creatively to encourage engagement. While practical experience supporting vulnerable adults is highly desirable, we are also interested in hearing from you if you have transferable skills and a willingness to learn, even if you haven't worked in the homelessness sector before.
