Associates will have the opportunity to build skills and experience across a breadth of core fundraising disciplines, as well as excellent exposure to the broader programmatic work of the charity, with opportunities for engagement. Key duties may include: research; proposal drafting, design and writing; supporter engagement; participant support & management (for our events & sponsored challenges); data management and administration; communication support (including social media). Prior experience in any of these areas is not essential but would be beneficial. What is essential is demonstrating outstanding aptitude, passion, and the desire to make an impact and progress your personal development, fast. Training is provided. 

This is a demanding role (lots of adverts say this, to be clear: here it is true) - and is suited to passionate, ambitious individuals who enjoy being busy, stretched and working hard (actually – again these are not just trite advert lines; this opportunity is only appropriate for those for whom this is accurate!). 

Associate roles are paid at the appropriate National Minimum Wage rate and are initially expected to work 3 – 5 days a week during the first 3 months. This arrangement may be positively reviewed at the 3-month stage, especially in the case of excellent performance. 

You would be primarily working from our Central London office.

The role

Reporting to the Director of Nature Recovery, Wilder Wight, Solent and Seas, this role will bring operational leadership and management capacity across two highly important areas, overseeing delivery of strategic objectives and managing the conservation teams. The Isle of Wight is facing some major challenges, but the Trust is demonstrating how nature led approaches can resolve many of the local issues through ecosystem service provision. It’s an exciting time for the Island with the Trust delivering Wilder 2030 and through collaboration with partners much more is planned for nature and people by delivering land and seascape scale restoration. The Solent area hosts some of the Trusts most loved nature reserves. This area is under pressure from development, climate change and sea level rise posing some challenging scenarios for the future and the need for proactive engagement and problem solving to ensure sustainable solutions for the future.

Exeter Students’ Guild 

Head of Organisational Development 

Salary: £53,000 to £60,000 (pro-rated) 

Location: Exeter  

Contract:  Permanent – between 21 and 35 hours per week (our preference is 0.6 FTE, 21 hours; however, we are open to exploring a range of working patterns)

About the Role 

As the Head of Organisational Development, you will be a key member of our Senior Management Team, supporting the CEO and elected Officers in shaping the Guild's future.

We are looking for someone who: 

• Leads and manages initiatives spanning People, Culture, Operations, IT, facilities, and Health and Safety. 

• Empowers and collaborates with Guild managers, dedicated to our Business Partnering model and fostering strong university relationships. 

• Cultivates a culture that prioritises outcomes and people, guided by our charity-based values, and is focused on removing barriers for students.
