Job Title: Education Advisor – Post 16

Salary: £31,764 per annum + £750 per annum homeworking allowance

Overall Duties of the Education Advisor will include:

• Providing impartial careers advice, information and guidance to TACT young people and foster carers supporting them to prepare for leaving school, entering college, and considering which post 16 education pathway is appropriate for them. 
• Working alongside TACT’s Advisory teachers, TACT Connect, CRWs, SSWs and carers to support young people cared for by TACT to engage in education, training, or employment post 16. 
• Supporting the delivery of quality careers exploration ensuring young people have a wide range of opportunities and experiences provided to consider all KS4, Post 16 and Post 18 pathways. 
• Ensuring young people are prepared for adult life as a learner in Higher, Further colleges or university, as well as working life, including apprenticeships or employment. 
• Ensuring that no young person is NEET and if any young person needs support to re-engage in their post 16 pathway that re-engagement plans are drawn up to reflect the individual’s interests and needs. 
• Maintaining timely and accurate record keeping on Charms (in house system).
• Responding to telephone calls and attending virtual meetings. 
• Communicating professionally with a wide range of stakeholders, including colleagues, carers, and third-party agencies to establish professional working relationships which focus on the best outcomes for the children and young people in our care. 
• Working flexibly within the team and autonomously as needed to manage your time and duties 

We are looking for candidates with:

• Degree level education or equivalent 
• Professional teaching qualification and current Registration with DFE (desirable but not essential)
• Experience of working in a similar career/role in a secondary school or college setting in Student Support and/or Careers Guidance
• Experience in working with a range of local authority services, including Virtual School, SEN & Social Care 
• Experience of working with Children in Care/Care Experienced Young People 
• Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary team 
• Experience of working in a busy and demanding role 
• Confidence in using all Microsoft Office applications including Outlook, One Drive & SharePoint 
• Experience of using a software system to record and maintain timely records 
• The ability to work to deadlines, with accuracy and flexibility, sometimes dealing with conflicting priorities 
• Familiarity with handling confidential and sensitive information in line with relevant regulations and legislative requirements 
• Excellent communication skills to suit a broad range of professional relationships

About: In response to emerging needs and the implementation of the Diocesan Property Strategy, the Diocese of Salford is looking to appoint an experienced individual to support and develop Grant and Bid Writing within the diocese. Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager

Do you have a strong track record of fundraising within the charity sector? We are looking for someone who can manage corporate and community fundraisers, develop events, both locally and nationally; as well as being able to write, and submit successful funding applications to trusts and other funding sources.

As our ‘Corporate and Community Fundraising Manager’ you will develop, deliver, and manage a range of corporate and community fundraising initiatives that will help the Throat Cancer Foundation (TCF) promote and deliver its services.

About Us

Founded in 2012 we are a UK charity that provide support, advice and information to patients and their loved ones who are affected by cancers of the head, mouth, neck, chest, and those throat cancers caused by the Human Papillomavirus (HPV). We also campaign for universal HPV vaccination to prevent any future devastating throat cancer cases. Raising awareness of HPV and how it causes throat cancers has been and continues to be a large part of our work.

About the role

The successful applicant will work closely with the CEO, the management team, and Trustees to implement, develop and deliver a fundraising strategy that meets the charity’s challenging income targets. This post will play a vital role in helping us to deliver our range of throat cancer support programmes to patients, families, as well as to medical professionals and the scientific research sectors. This is a unique and challenging role, which will see the successful applicant working on a variety of projects at any one time, whilst working under pressure to deliver results. It is therefore important that anyone in that role has great communication skills as well as experience of managing fundraising events on a nationwide scale.

MAIN TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Fundraising duties as required.
• Be the customer service face for all fundraisers and fundraising activities.
• Play a key role in the development and implementation of TCF’s community fundraising activities and third-party events.
• Work with the Business Development Manager and CEO to develop key messages, briefings, and positioning statements to ensure consistency and maximise the impact of our work
• Create, manage, and deliver robust project plans for allocated events delivering on set income targets.
• Review and adapt current events in the portfolio to maximise supporter engagement, retention and income growth.
• Booking and liaising with all suppliers involved with events and building and maintaining strong relationships with them.
• Working across the charity and externally, to significantly grow both volunteer numbers and activity.
• Develop the way we speak about volunteering, our brand, and associated materials, in order to attract more volunteers with the skills we need.

About the role:

We are seeking a highly organised and detail-oriented individual to join our Portfolio and Planning team as a Business Planning Officer.

As a Business Planning Officer, you will play a crucial role in the development and execution of strategic business plans, ensuring the smooth operation of annual planning cycles, team-specific business plans, and effective coordination of various business activities. 

The post holder will provide support to the annual business planning cycle, monitoring and tracking the plans, horizon scanning and undertaking ad-hoc duties within the PMO. 

• To work in partnership with Head of Portfolio and Planning and Team leads to help provide support, direction and guidance in the development of the NFCC annual business plans ensuring that objectives are set with measurable activity. 

• To provide support and lead on aspects of the co-ordination of the corporate planning and reporting activities of the NFCC, monitoring of progress against Key Performance Indicators. 

• Monitor and report the delivery and performance against the set objectives; ensuring that content is well evidenced, and is reported on quarterly basis. 

• Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop and implement business plans that align with the strategic direction of the NFCC. 

• To support the Head of Portfolio and Planning to continually develop and implement the annual planning cycle. 

• To work closely with individuals 

• Contribute to the development of the NFCC’s annual planning cycle by leading the co-ordination and forward planning of submissions of business cases and project proposals throughout the year. 

• To develop and co-ordinate an external horizon scanning capability within the team. 

• Drafting agendas and producing accurate minutes and records at Board. 

• Maintaining accurate records of all Board reports. 

• Maintain records of responses and actions taken against recommendations from meetings.

This interim role is designed to cover a 12 month parental leave period, and will join during a period of wider organisational change. There are 1.5 million children and young people with a disability (CYPD) in the UK.  Over three quarters cannot access regular leisure facilities which massively impacts their health and well-being. Furthermore, the impact of living with a disability can have a significant impact on the wider family, with over 72% of parents reporting mental health challenges and over two thirds saying they feel isolated some or all of the time.

Gympanzees’ mission is simple. We want all children and young people living with a disability to have access to high-quality, fully inclusive leisure facilities so that they can enjoy fun, fitness, and friendships and support their families out of isolation.

Sounds simple, but it’s a huge task.  There is nowhere in the UK like this. Anywhere. At all.  But we’re changing that, and we want you to join us!

Since 2018 we’ve been hosting Pop Up’s during easter and summer months, across Bristol, in various special schools which has seen us welcome over 23,500 visitors.  Each one has helped hone and improve our delivery model, and longer-term plans.  These Pop Ups have seen some incredible firsts, including:

· A 6 year old taking their first steps

· A 12 year old sleeping through the night for the first time

· A 3 year old having his first laugh

· An 8 year old rolling over for the first time

Families have travelled from all over the country to enjoy the Pop Ups, some covering 6-hour journeys just for their afternoon of fun!

During COVID we quickly adapted our offer to include a Lending Library which continues to this day, offering nearly 300 items of specialist equipment, free of charge.

In 2023 we purchased a new site to develop into a permanent home which will open in summer 2026.  Redevelopment is underway, and so too is an £8 million campaign to support this extraordinary project.

Where you’d fit in

Gympanzees is a growing team which currently consists of 16.  The fundraising team consists of 6 people.  This role is a crucial member of the fundraising team and will be delivering on a vital income stream that is both financially and strategically significant for the capital project.

Job description

As the Senior Fundraising Manager for Trusts and Statutory, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital income from across these funding streams, whilst leading a small team to maximise their own fundraising efforts from similar sources.

This position is ideal for someone with proven experience in researching and crafting successful grant applications from both traditional grants as well as local and national statutory source.  It will especially appeal to those with capital campaign experience but is not a pre-requisite.

You'll be tasked with distilling complex information into compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and objectives while aligning with grant requirements. Excellent copywriting skills are essential, as you'll need to create engaging and informative content that tells our story authentically and passionately.

Your approach will be highly organised and methodical to ensure accuracy and compliance with grant briefs. Reporting to the Director of Fundraising, you'll collaborate closely with a high-level fundraising team to maximize funding opportunities and drive positive impact.  Additionally, you shall line manager the Trust and Foundations Manager.

Main Responsibilities - include but are not limited to.

1. Grant identification and Research: Conduct thorough research to identify

potential grant and statutory funding opportunities from government agencies, foundations, corporations, and other sources aligned with Gympanzees' mission and projects.

2. Grant Proposal Development: Lead the development of compelling grant proposals, including conducting needs assessments, defining project objectives, outlining budgets, and articulating impact metrics.

3. Grant Application Process: Manage the end-to-end grant application process, including drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals within deadlines, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

4. Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain relationships with existing and potential funders, including government agencies, philanthropic organizations, and corporate partners, to enhance funding prospects and collaboration opportunities.

5. Budgeting and Financial Management: Collaborate with the finance team to develop project budgets, monitor spending against grants, and ensure accurate financial reporting to funders.

6. Grant Compliance: Ensure compliance with grant agreements, reporting requirements, and regulatory guidelines, and coordinate with relevant stakeholders to fulfill reporting obligations.

7. Grant Performance Monitoring: Monitor and evaluate the effectiveness and impact of grant-funded projects, collecting and analyzing data to assess outcomes and inform future funding strategies.

8. Cross-functional Collaboration: Work closely with program managers, finance staff, and other team members to align funding strategies with organizational priorities and project needs.

9. Knowledge Sharing: Stay informed about trends and best practices in grant funding and statutory funding opportunities relevant to Gympanzees' mission and share insights with the team.

10.  Continuous Improvement: Identify opportunities for process improvements and capacity-building initiatives to enhance the organization's grant-seeking efforts and overall fundraising strategy.

11.  Management of Grants and Trust Officer and grants consultants that we are working with.

Skills you’ll need

1. Proven experience in grant writing, fundraising, or development, preferably in the nonprofit sector.

2. Strong understanding of grant funding mechanisms, including government, foundation, and statutory funding programs.

3. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to craft persuasive grant proposals and communicate complex ideas effectively.

4. Exceptional organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously and meet deadlines under pressure when needed.

5. Financial acumen, including budget development, financial reporting, and grant compliance.

6. Strategic thinking and problem-solving abilities, with a results-oriented approach to achieving funding targets.

7. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and grant management software platforms.

8. Collaborative mindset and ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.

Who we are and what we do?

We are the UK’s student mental health charity. We challenge the higher education sector, health sector, and government to work with students when making decisions that impact them, and make them accountable for prioritising student mental health. In collaboration with students, we show sector professionals what effective student mental health looks like, and bridge the gap between students and the communities around them to ensure their voices are always heard.

We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Programme Coordinator to join our team on a 12-month fixed-term contract and support the effective delivery of the Student Space programme. In this role, you will play a vital role in programme management, including stakeholder relationships, maintaining a university directory, and supporting digital, data, and programme reporting.

To provide programme management support within Student Space. Work with the wider team to develop, promote and continuously improve the platform and services with specific responsibilities for programme data, stakeholder management, university directory development and administration.

Responsibilities

• Provide effective coordination and delivery support to the Student Space programme.
• Working closely with the Senior Programme Managers and wider team members to ensure successful delivery of programmes.
• Be the first point of contact for Student Space Programme enquiries, being responsible for incoming and outgoing communication, fielding and distributing to other team members accordingly and responding as directed.
• Set up internal and external meetings for the Student Space Programme taking responsibility for preparing papers, taking minutes, following up on actions, organising logistics, etc.
• Attend various programme-related meetings, actively contributing ideas to continually develop our programmes.
• Work closely with the Digital Lead and Senior Programme Manager for Student Space to support the management of the Student Space digital product, data analytics and reporting.
