With funding challenges throughout the hospice sector, Finance plays a crucial role in supporting the charity and overseeing its financial management.  As a key part of that work, we are now looking for a Finance Manager to oversee the operational activities of the Finance function.

Post Title: Youth Violence Intervention Practitioner 

Location: The role will be located at St. Mary's Hospital in London, with occasional travel to Redthread's other sites, including the head office in London. All Redthread team members should be flexible in supporting other sites when necessary. Regular visits to Redthread's main offices in London and other projects and activities at various locations across London and the UK will be required.

Hours: 37.5 hours per week. The nature of Redthread’s work means that regular evening and weekend work is required. You will be required to work shifts to ensure that the team covers from 7:30 am to 9:00 pm each day between them.

About the Organisation

Together We Learn is a small international development charity with a vision to break the cycle of poverty in Ethiopia by enabling disadvantaged children to access quality education.

We have been working closely with our Ethiopian partner organisation for over 25 years to achieve this. Our UK team is a small, close- knit team that supports the fundraising, international communications, and project delivery of the Ethiopian team.

Our approach is to work alongside state education infrastructure, addressing a range of needs related to access to and quality of education, as well as children’s wellbeing.

Our work with schools includes school infrastructure projects - providing safe, local schools - and supporting teachers with training and resources to inspire children to flourish in the classroom. We also work closely with the children, their families and communities to understand and address the issues they face at home and how these impact their ability to attend and concentrate in school.

We are at the start of a new strategic phase with a focus on building the capacity of our Ethiopian partner organisation to shift the power and be more locally-led in our work.

We are particularly interested in hearing from candidates with a connection to Ethiopia, or from the African diaspora.

Project Coordinator

The Role: The Project Coordinator supports our Ethiopian Projects team deliver, monitor, evaluate and report on our various project activities. The role involves regular communication with both our regional project teams and management, supporting the team to meet project deadlines, driving continual programme improvement through monitoring, evaluation and learning, and supporting the UK Chief Executive with project reporting and funding proposals.

Reports to: Chief Executive
Hours: 15 hours per week (part-time role 40%)
Salary: £8,620 per annum (21,550 pro rata)
Location: London office, preference for hybrid working, remote applications considered, employee must be living in the UK.

Responsibilities

Supporting project delivery (70%)

• Regularly liaising with our project teams in Ethiopia to support them to monitor project deliverables alongside project plans in a timely manner and ensure changes are communicated to relevant parties
• Support with monitoring, evaluation and learning processes by ensuring monitoring and evaluation deadlines are met, collating, analysing and formatting data for review, leading discussions on impact review and supporting discussions for continuous programme development. Including managing office volunteers to support our work in these areas.
• Support the Ethiopian team to track and understand markers of good quality, sustainable projects and to continuously improve upon these.
• Supporting the Ethiopia team to develop projects, applying learning from evaluations and developing new project concepts.
• Supporting the team to include and prioritise beneficiary perspective to lead project design, implementation and monitoring procedures 
• Support the Ethiopian team to develop, include and adhere to all organisational policies and procedures, with special attention to safeguarding.

Fundraising (20%)

• Reporting to donors and funders on project delivery, ensuring deadlines for reporting are met, collating data and Ethiopian team feedback, and writing up funder reports in a timely manner.
• Supporting the Chief Executive to research potential funders and prepare and evidence funding proposals.
• Drafting template funder proposals.
• Occasionally attending funder events
• Support the UK team to communicate with supporters via monitoring the fundraising inbox, liaising with international volunteers, tour guests or other queries.

Other (10%)

• Support with building the capacity of the Ethiopian team through working practices and training in relevant areas.
• Communicate about our work with stakeholders via writing blogs, newsletter and Annual Report chapters.

About the role

Sightsavers are seeking for a Research Assistant to support our new Research and Evidence Uptake Strategy which identifies technological innovations as a new priority area. In the next strategic period, we aim to develop and implement strategies for digital enhancement of our research approaches and programmes to maximise the effectiveness, quality, and efficiency of our work.

The Research Assistant will have an understanding of data and digital technology space and how to apply them in low- income countries, particularly in sub-Saharan Africa. They will work alongside other members of the Research team to identify opportunities and develop and test digital solutions to enhance our programmes and research.  The immediate opportunities include digital support for inclusive education programmes in Kenya and Sierra Leone and neglected tropical disease programmes in Ghana and Mozambique. There will also be opportunities to be involved in research using traditional quantitative and qualitative methods, including health system assessments, surveys and focus group discussions.

As the successful candidate you will possess a postgraduate degree in data sciences, data management or other related fields, and have good knowledge and experience of working with data systems and platforms in Sub-Sharan Africa context, which is essential for this role.

• Understanding and experience of novel tools using statistics, mathematics, and machine learning approaches for data analysis.

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. The Organisation

The evaluation team works with schools and organisations, analysing the impact of programmes and interventions to help them do more of what works and less of what doesn’t. The Opportunity

The School Engagement Coordinator is a new role working across ImpactEd Evaluation. The role will work directly with schools to deliver national research projects, support their onboarding to our School Impact Platform, and lead communications and data collection for our partnerships. The role would be a good fit for someone with experience or interest in the school sector and research and evaluation.

Day to day your role is likely to be a mixture of:

• Supporting new schools we are working with through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring progress
• Working with school leaders and teachers to implement research in their setting - for example on projects like our Understanding Attendance research
• General support for partnership delivery and administrative tasks working with different team members

· To provide guidance and support by telephone, email and face-to-face to those affected by stalking.

· To provide casework support and advocacy to victims of stalking, liaising with both voluntary and statutory services to ensure positive outcomes for victims. 

· To support the operational Team Leaders where required.

You’ll help to shape and deliver our exciting new Energy Support service, aiming to be proactive and preventative in fuel and energy insecurity. The Role

You’ll be part of our Financial Inclusion team, looking holistically at customers and their household circumstances and finding innovative ways to support them to make sustained changes. You’ll be working with partners, building new relationships both internally and externally, with an overall aim to aid our customers to become financially resilient.

Key Responsibilities:

• Developing and enhancing financial inclusion initiatives, with a primary focus on energy-related projects
• Collaborating with customer support teams to ensure impactful delivery of financial inclusion offers
• Supporting operational activities of Financial Inclusion programs across SNG communities
• Working closely with the Financial and Digital Inclusion Manager to identify new delivery partners and continue to develop financial inclusion offers for sustained positive customer impact
