• Complete monthly cash flow forecasts and assist in statutory account preparation.
• Ensuring inter-company accounts are reconciled along with balance sheet accounts.
• Timely and accurate posting of bank account transactions.
• Produce timely and accurate consolidated financial statements, ensuring compliance with relevant statutes.
• Management of 1 direct report in Accounts Payable.

The Organisation

The Refugee Council has agreed to work in partnership with Migration Yorkshire and Doncaster and Rotherham Local Authorities to deliver the wraparound support for refugees on the Homes for Ukraine programme. The model of support is as follows:

• Integration support for new arrivals
• Coordinating multiagency weekly drop-ins
• Ongoing support for complex case clients beyond 12 months
• Intensive support with securing permanent housing (including property searches, joint viewings, tenancy support)
• Reporting critical incidents and intensive support for affected families – DV, safeguarding, self-harm, hate crime.
• Group briefings and community development activities
• Support with applications for visa extensions
• Promoting volunteering and referrals into employment support services

The post holder will be working from the Sheffield office covering Doncaster and Rotherham and will report to the South Yorkshire Resettlement Homes for Ukraine Coordinator.

Main Duties and Responsibilities

1. To assist resettled refugees to develop and access social, cultural, recreational and other local community activities and opportunities.
2. To develop and coordinate initiatives that promote links between resettled refugees and the wider community (e.g. English conversation clubs, women’s groups)
3. To organise and facilitate group briefing activities that promote the integration needs of Homes for Ukraine clients (Briefing topics may include: debt, utilities, cost of living, UK education system, health services, visa extensions)
4. To enable newly arrived refugees to identify their needs and aspirations and collaborate with the resettlement workers to play an active role in helping to fulfilling them.

We are looking for someone with administration or secretarial experience gained in a legal environment to be the new Legal Administrator for our National Legal Admin Team. You could soon be playing a vital role helping people who are affected by the housing emergency.

About The Role

You will provide full administrative support to the Legal Team, including taking telephone calls, secretarial duties, data entry, note taking, sorting the post and managing diaries. You will also be responsible for supporting the wider team when required to ensure the effective running of the service. You will need to liaise with clients and third parties, including making appointments and obtaining information. Producing reports, providing an accurate audio typing service, processing legal funding and other documents, managing files, preparing documents for court and entering information onto a case management system are other aspects of this interesting and varied role. 

About You

You have secretarial experience gained in a legal practice and audio/copy typing skills with a minimum of 70 wpm, along with advanced knowledge of IT tools including case management systems and MS Office systems.  You have great written and verbal communication skills and enjoy working as part of a busy team.

Shannon Trust  Prison Facilitator - Bank Staff (East Region)

Do you want to join an organisation committed to addressing illiteracy amongst people in prison?

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led literacy and numeracy programmes across a number of prisons.  To ensure the continuation of our programmes during times of staff absence, we are now seeking to recruit a Prison Facilitator on a bank working basis to work across the East region. Working closely with prisons and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will support with the delivery and development of our literacy and numeracy programme in the North region, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships quickly and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach. You will also have a willingness to travel, sometimes at short notice, to provide short or long term cover within the region including some overnight stays.

This role will be prison-based and will cover a number of prisons across our East Region including: HMP Wayland, HMP Norwich, HMP Bure, HMP Chelmsford, HMP Whitemoor, HMP Bedford, HMP Littlehey, HMP Gartree, HMP Leicester and HMP Whatton. This is a bank role and so the number of days to be worked will vary and are not guaranteed.

About You

WWT are seeking a personable individual who is keen to learn about all elements of our Philanthropy work. You will provide support across the entire Philanthropy and Partnerships team, so we are seeking someone with great people skills, as well as drive, initiative and determination. You’ll be diligent, displaying a high attention to detail and accuracy, and have a dynamic approach to your work.

As our ideal candidate you'll bring efficient administrative skills with good use of Microsoft Office (particularly word and excel). You'll have the ability to independently prioritise workload with limited supervision as you will be supporting work across all three sections of the Philanthropy and Partnerships team. You'll also bring experience of liaising with a broad range of stakeholders by phone, email and letter.

The Philanthropy and Partnerships Team are based at Head Office, Slimbridge with most of the team in hybrid roles (spending time in the office at Slimbridge and working from home.) However, home working will be considered on the basis of regular attendance at Slimbridge a minimum of once a month with the potential for more frequent visits where required. A driving licence is not a formal requirement of this role but is desirable.

The Head of Urban Transformation role leads campaigns delivery and development work across Possible’s ‘getting around’ strategic focus area, continuing our groundbreaking work on campaigning for traffic reduction and sustainable transport across the UK. 

This currently includes delivery of the multi-year Get Shady project - swapping cars for trees on London’s hottest streets - and oversight of further work across urban greening, parklets and sustainable urban transport. In the future, this could include other campaigns.

With the support of the co-directors, you will be managing an annual Get Shady budget of hundreds of thousands of pounds, and a team of at least two staff members, alongside key relationships with our partners. You’ll be tasked with overall delivery and impact of Get Shady, supporting other work in your function via line management and project sponsorship, and leading fundraising against existing and new work in line with organisational strategy. You’ll work collaboratively with the communications team to spread effective campaign messages far and wide, and leverage the greatest impact possible in our target communities and beyond. Working within strategy and project plans that have been collaboratively developed, you’ll be free to put forward your own ideas for campaign activities, particularly in response to changing events. You’ll also be expected to act as the main spokesperson for your function, speaking at, for example, local or sector events, and to the media. 

You’ll also work closely with the rest of Possible’s senior management team to cultivate and maintain a positive and supportive working culture amongst the whole workforce as well as within your own team.

Alongside, where time allows, you’ll be supported to develop further campaign and project ideas within the ‘getting around’ focus area. Where additional funding does become available you may be required to take on additional line management and project oversight responsibilities.

Salary: £24,215 - £25,203 per annum

Location: Swanscombe (DA10 0AB)

• Respond to inquiries and communications from individual donors promptly and professionally, while confidently making outbound phone calls to build relationships.

Essential requirements:

• Experience in working with a wide variety of contacts and maintaining relationships.
• Experience in effectively communicating with individuals on sensitive topics.

• Ability to co-ordinate a variety of tasks whilst working to agreed priorities and deadlines.
• Intermediate IT skills with knowledge of Microsoft office and creative platforms such as Canva.
