Title: Male Residential Support Worker (this is a live-in role)

Responsible to: Senior Support Worker

Responsible for: Young people living in the accommodation (4 young people aged 16 – 18 years old seeking asylum in the UK).

Location: This is a live-in, residential role based in a supported accommodation home in Loughborough. Some work will be based in our office buildings.

Hours: 25 hours per week on duty – this is a mixture of day, evening and weekend shifts. Two days a week will be off duty.

Leave: Two nights a month can be taken as nights away from the home. This in addition to annual leave allowance. Annual leave - 33 days (converted into hours) pro-rata for number of hours worked

Salary Band: £24,150 - £27,760 per annum pro rata. Equivalent to £16,100 to £18,506 for 25 hours a week.

Benefits in kind: Rent-free accommodation, including Wi-fi, gas, electric and council tax bills.

Overall Purpose

To provide advice, assistance and support to young people in the home, as a key member of the Support Team, delivering Baca’s service in line with our Vision and Values. The role includes a consistent adult presence in the home. To attend to their practical and emotional needs whilst supporting the development of living skills. To teach them how to manage and look after a home in order to keep it safe and hygienic. To build trusting relationships within the home to enable young people to feel safe and cared for. To act as an excellent role model and to work closely with them and their Support Worker to enable them to make good progress towards independence.

Specific Duties & Responsibilities

• Welcome newly arrived young people into the accommodation, helping them feel safe and able to rest; with compassion without discrimination of age, race, colour or behavioural issues.
• Actively support young people to make progress and develop in the following outcomes; physical wellbeing and emotional wellbeing; personal safety; education and learning; employment and training that is safe and suitable; social engagement (being part of the community and activities outside of the home)
• Be an excellent and positive role model, offering advice, guidance and assistance and consistently modelling behaviours in line with Baca’s values.
• Using Baca’s progress plan, train all young people in living skills and looking after a home such as washing, personal safety, cleaning, cooking and food safety, food shopping and budgeting.
• Providing emotional support at times of difficulty, anxiety or stress.
• Encourage young people settle into and support them to maintain a healthy routine which will include regularly attending education and social activities.
• Act as a co-keyworker for the young people to ensure that their support plans and progress are up to date and that all their needs are being met.
• Enable young people to live with positive values and good boundaries by challenging any unhelpful or unsafe behaviours and encouraging safe and positive behaviours.
• In accordance with the guidelines on Safeguarding and Health and Safety policies, to accept responsibility for working within these guidelines and report any concerns.
• Work collaboratively with the rest of the Rebuild Team to ensure all young people are safeguarded and supported to rebuild their lives.
• Take responsibility for keeping the home clean, by consistently role modelling to and training young people.
• Maintain very good communication with relevant members of the Rebuild Team and relevant social workers
• Ensure regular appropriate reporting requirements are consistently met, meeting regulations set out by Ofsted.
• Complete and update all admin work as part of the role such as month end reports and support plans on time and in a consistent manner.
• Playing an active role in developing knowledge and understanding in areas relevant to the role and especially in the areas of asylum and refugee law, trafficking, supporting separated children and the cultures of different nations relevant to Baca.

Personal Specification

Baca is looking for a Support Worker who is passionate about seeing unaccompanied young refugees achieving their potential and rebuilding their lives for a better future. This is a frontline role that will need the successful applicant to be working closely with young people in their houses and will need access to transport young people to different appointments, meetings and activities.

Our client, a prestigious London University, is currently seeking a temporary, full time (35 hours per week) Quality Assurance Administrator, running for 2-months in the first instance, based onsite 5-days per week in East London.

Key Responsibilities for this role include:

• Evaluating curriculum management processes and assessing learning processes within the school.
• Supporting academics in developing new or amending module specifications, including module proposal/amendment forms, ensuring relevant documentation is accurate & timely.
• Distribution of examination paper templates to module organisers, facilitating the moderation of all examination papers and marking guidelines using the systems in place.
• Allocating taught modules to external examiners, aligning to their areas of expertise, for review and maintaining accurate records of external examiner appointments.
• Distribution of exam timetables, ensuring that all moderation support is agreed with Heads of Department in a timely manner and communicated to the programme delivery teams - including updating and retaining a copy of the moderators list on SharePoint.
• Providing relevant and accurate information to students regarding assessment deadlines and procedures - fully understanding the Academic Regulations and their impact on students.
• Liaising with module organisers and the Appeals, Complaints and Conduct office to provide administrative support on plagiarism reports and related assessment disputes, maintaining accurate records.
• Assisting the Subject Examination Board Secretary and Chair with the preparation of board meetings, including relevant documents.

To be considered for this position, you should possess:

• Previous experience in a similar role working within a higher education setting.
• Experience in supporting examination processes.
• Detailed knowledge of higher education institutional procedures, regulations and codes of practice.
• Strong experience working collaboratively with a variety of stakeholders.
• Strong customer service, administration, and organisational skills.

Working as part of a small sub-team within the wider Resourcing Team you will join us as a Resourcing Administrator and play a pivotal role in supporting the recruitment, onboarding and retention of casual workers (referred to internally as locums) and temporary agency staff across the organisation.

In this varied and interesting role, working as a Resourcing Administrator you will:

• Provide comprehensive administrative support for the recruitment and on-boarding of casual workers to St Mungo’s Locum Bank, including processing a high volume of applications from various sources including staff leavers, agency workers, students, volunteers and external applicants.
• Be the first point of contact for queries from locums, managers and agencies, dealing promptly and effectively by phone, email and in person. This will include responding to payroll related queries.
• Conduct agency audits and contribute to the ongoing compliance monitoring of agencies on St Mungo’s Agency Preferred Supplier List (PSL)

The role is available on a part-time basis, 26.5 hrs per week. This equates to 3.5 working days between Monday and Friday, however, there can be some flexibility on when these hours are worked, across the week. The individual working days can be agreed with the chosen candidate on appointment.

This is an opportunity to join Refuge as a Community Engagement Lead. The successful candidate will lead on mappng services in the Borough; forming partnerships with statutory and voluntary agencies based on identified needs of the service to enhance and extend multi-disciplinary knowledge available at and through the Gaia Centre.

The post holder will be responsible for managing relationships with partner agencies and coordinating co-locations within the Gaia service as well as negotiating for staff from the service to co-locate with partner agencies. You will build capacity for a community response to meet the needs of survivors of VAWG by drawing on the expertise of other specialist and by-and-for service providers, such as those working with LGBTQ+ victim/survivors, disabled victim/survivors or victim/survivors of so-called ‘honor’-based violence in order to provide a wraparound support as part of a broader service offer. The post holder will also support a team of the Peer Support Mentors and volunteers who will be leading on some practical aspects of individual and group support for survivors accessing the GAIA Centre.

The successful candidate will be skilled at working with a diverse range of audiences and will be adept at creating and developing new partnerships and pathways that contribute towards coordinated community response and improve the lives of survivors of domestic abuse and gender-based violence. You will also have experience of developing teams and supervising people.

We are looking for an organised and proactive Administrative Assistant to support the Director of Fundraising. This role requires managing the Director's calendar by scheduling and arranging internal and external meetings. Building and managing positive relationships with internal and external stakeholders, identifying administrative processes for simplification or efficiency, and appropriately managing confidential information are also critical aspects of this role.

This is a temporary position starting at the end of August for four months and involves hybrid working arrangements, requiring 1-2 days per week in the office, my client are open to 28 hours or 35 hours a week (4-5 days)

The Family Finding Worker will be homebased within the Yorkshire and North East area but will be required to travel to face-to-face meetings, for training and team wellbeing events.

Purpose of job:

As the Producer at Comic Relief, you will turn creative ideas into reality, ensuring projects progress quickly, efficiently, and within budget. While your input may vary on a project, you will bring a layer of magic and efficiency to the teams you support. With your skills as a storyteller and organiser, you will essentially ‘make it happen’ in a variety of places and spaces. You will respond to briefs from across the organisation, ideating, developing, and executing ideas that resonate with our audiences and meet campaign objectives. While ensuring projects are delivered on time and within budget, you will bring fresh, out-of-the-box ideas for managing and delivering content efficiently. Whether it’s a photoshoot, design project, social video, digital content, video game, podcast, event, or factual content, you will help the team transform core ideas into impactful outputs by driving the project forwards.

Key responsibilities:

• Lead multiple concurrent projects to ensure overall quality of work and guarantee projects are delivered on time and within budget.

• Proactively identify ways to add value to the team through economical solutions and savvy production management.

• Facilitate cross-departmental collaboration and oversee a range of outputs including photography, broadcast, print, social, digital, events, activations, and other specialty projects from ideation through to delivery.

• Serve as the communication hub for larger campaign projects, coordinating between key stakeholders involved in an assigned project.

• Manage your own projects and collaborate across various specialist teams to drive projects forward, integrating various content outputs into a seamless workflow.

• Maintain systems and processes for generating and sharing ideas including crafting creative treatments and pitch documents to sell-in ideas as required.

• Collaborate closely with production management colleagues to ensure all productions adhere to organisational best practices, including safeguarding, obtaining consent, and complying with health and safety, risk management, and legal considerations.

• Adhere to production management operational processes to ensure all resources and productions are utilised and executed efficiently.

• Extensive experience managing simultaneous projects in a fast-paced agency, marketing, or creative services environment.

• Proven track record in scoping complex campaigns, ensuring the creation of accurate resource plans, project schedules, and estimates. Clear understanding of what is and isn’t included in the delivery and risk mitigation plans.

• Strong understanding of planning/strategy, creative, and design processes. Ability to effectively converse on all areas, from static social posts to TV spots, OOH to printed posters, and everything in between.

• An eye for detail - always ensuring an excellent standard of delivery.

• Active listener and problem-solver with the ability to build trust with peers quickly.

The Church & Community Organiser is a crucial and exciting role that aims to utilise community organising as a means support mission in and amongst estate and low income communities in the parish of St Peter de Beauvoir Town.

This role has been enabled by a grant from the Hackney & Islington Programme as part of the Church of England’s Diocesan Investment Programme. The role includes oversight of a small budget awarded as part of the grant, and line management of a .4 FTE Operational Support Officer to be recruited following the successful appointment of the Church & Community Organiser role.

The successful candidate will utilise a community organising methodology to 

• build relationships
• listen and discern existing community leadership and institutions on estates and among low income communities 
• work to organise communities to overcome identified need whilst building relationships and a habit and culture of acting together to deliver agency, ownership, and change
• signpost to/create appropriate groups/spaces to meet identified need or to enable action to be taken together to deliver social and community change
• to create new worshipping opportunities and nurture disciples from low income communities
• create and devise mindful and prayerful spaces and worshipping activities in St Peter’s and in appropriate spaces in the community with the aim of launching a new worshipping community or service

Main Duties

• to oversee membership with and relationship to Citizens UK/Centre for Theology and Community or another recognised partner institution utilising community organising
• to undergo community organising training (if not done so already) in order to be able to train local leaders and congregation members in community organising 
• to building relationships with and discern the spiritual and material needs of residents of estates and low income communities through a regular pattern of 121 conversations (on average 3 a day)
• to identify local leadership and institutions on estate and low income communities, and to help develop local leaders 
• to convene small groups and local actions to discern and meet identified need to enable action to be taken together to deliver social and community change
• to listen actively via a programme of 121s with members of St Peter’s congregation (and Warm Welcome guests) especially those living in estate and low income communities to develop St Peter de Beauvoir’s ability to welcome and develop agency of guests and worshippers from estate and low income communities 
• to create spaces and opportunities to meet spiritual needs of residents of estates and low income communities through creation of prayer spaces, worshipping opportunities and new services/worshipping communities, in addition to signposting to existing services and activities currently taking place at St. Peter’s. 

Person Specification
