Oxford Hub is a place-based charity that supports, equips, and empowers people to tackle inequalities of health, education and opportunity across Oxford, with a focus on where the need and opportunity to make a difference is greatest. We were set up by University of Oxford students in 2007 and have since evolved into a community charity, with our main hub in The Leys and our second office in Oxford city centre.
The trustee board and staff team are working together to appoint a new CEO or co-CEOs in what we believe to be one of the most interesting roles for social impact in Oxford. Oxford Hub is at an exciting moment, having developed an ambitious three-year strategy and moved into our new community hub in The Leys. The new CEO will have a strong base from which to get started, and the opportunity to shape the implementation of this strategy, evolving our work based on a collaborative approach in response to community needs.
This is not a traditional CEO role - we expect the right candidates to take a hands-on approach and to seek to share power with others in the organisation, the wider system, and the community. Because we are a place-based organisation, your role requires a broader leadership in the city, as well as internally within the Hub team.
The Hub has a strong focus on supporting the city as a whole, so you will have an outward perspective and foster our connections to other organisations, as well as supporting the team.
While Oxford Hub is in a strong position, with a high performing team and ambitious plans for the future, the social challenges that we are facing at a national and local level make our work more important than ever. In this role, you need to be able to achieve the strategic vision of the organisation, by focusing on the most impactful opportunities and building a strong set of partnerships to achieve broad-based action and systemic change.
The CEO role is part of a three-strong, experienced management team. Our work in communities is collective and collaborative, and we work to reflect that as part of our internal culture. In this role, you will work with everyone in the team, helping them to grow and succeed.
The role will suit someone who has experience in senior leadership roles, or someone who is ready for a challenge and would like to take on their first CEO role.
Overall, you will be making things happen, developing activities to make a difference and working with the team to deliver those. You will need strong leadership skills to set a vision, communicate with a diverse range of stakeholders, and inspire others to take action.
The hub of community organising in Oxford, working together to build a better Oxford by tackling inequalities of health, education and opportunity.
The client requests no contact from agencies or media sales.
Are you passionate about climate justice, public health, and liveable cities?
Determined to work with local communities to deliver real climate solutions?

The Head of Urban Transformation role leads campaigns delivery and development work across Possible’s ‘getting around’ strategic focus area, continuing our groundbreaking work on campaigning for traffic reduction and sustainable transport across the UK.
This currently includes delivery of the multi-year Get Shady project - swapping cars for trees on London’s hottest streets - and oversight of further work across urban greening, parklets and sustainable urban transport. In the future, this could include other campaigns.
With the support of the co-directors, you will be managing an annual Get Shady budget of hundreds of thousands of pounds, and a team of at least two staff members, alongside key relationships with our partners. You’ll be tasked with overall delivery and impact of Get Shady, supporting other work in your function via line management and project sponsorship, and leading fundraising against existing and new work in line with organisational strategy. You’ll work collaboratively with the communications team to spread effective campaign messages far and wide, and leverage the greatest impact possible in our target communities and beyond. Working within strategy and project plans that have been collaboratively developed, you’ll be free to put forward your own ideas for campaign activities, particularly in response to changing events. You’ll also be expected to act as the main spokesperson for your function, speaking at, for example, local or sector events, and to the media.
You’ll also work closely with the rest of Possible’s senior management team to cultivate and maintain a positive and supportive working culture amongst the whole workforce as well as within your own team.
Alongside, where time allows, you’ll be supported to develop further campaign and project ideas within the ‘getting around’ focus area. Where additional funding does become available you may be required to take on additional line management and project oversight responsibilities.
As a key member of the Possible team you’ll be part of a small, passionate, nimble, unique and positive organisation that cares about its people, its projects and, ultimately, the planet.
About Possible

We have made a commitment to make Possible an anti-oppressive place to work. We’re doing the work to undo inequalities and oppressive systems reflected in wider society, and are an inclusive and welcoming group that wants our team mates and the communities we work with to be able to thrive.
We believe that our team and our projects should reflect the diversity of the communities they seek to serve. Introduction to Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney
Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney is a user-led charity providing the independent voice of Carers in the way their services are designed, developed and delivered. Its vision is to ensure that unpaid Carers throughout Norfolk & Waveney are valued, recognised, and supported with equal access to a good quality of life that is not prejudiced by their caring role.
The guiding principle that informs our work is expressed in the organisational mission statement:
‘To improve the health and wellbeing of all Carers in Norfolk & Waveney; through partnership working we will ensure that the voice of Carers is heard and listened to, enabling support and services to be designed and delivered that reflect Carers’ needs and interests’.
Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney facilitates a countywide strategic partnership group and five locality network groups, all of which meet quarterly. CVN&W has a membership of over 2000 Carers and a reach extending to over 100 Carer groups countywide. The organisation is led by a board of trustees, all of whom have lived experience of caring, and who delegate day-to-day management to the Chief Officer who is supported by the Carers Voice Co-Production and Project Officer and the Membership & Administration Officer.
Carers Voice Norfolk & Waveney works in partnership with the Norfolk and Waveney Integrated Care Board which provides the health and social care for Norfolk and Waveney together with statutory and voluntary organisations. We work closely with Norfolk County Council and the commissioned countywide support service for Carers, Carers Matter Norfolk.
Coproduction is central to everything we do at Carers Voice. Carers are ‘experts’ through their lived experience and Carers Voice works to ensure Carers are able to influence change regarding the services, policies and decisions that affect them and the people they care for. Coproduction is an equal relationship between people who use services and people responsible for services. Decision making is shared in planning, design, delivery and monitoring.
The role will be carried out mainly in weekday office hours and can be flexible to suit the right person. Very occasional evening and weekend work will be required. The role will predominantly involve working from home. Equipment such as mobile phone and laptop, will be supplied. We are looking at the potential of arranging in person meetings which would require some travel within Norfolk & Waveney. A mileage allowance will be paid.
