The role

This role will develop, co-ordinate and deliver a range of networks and forums that strengthen the partnerships between the voluntary, community, faith and social enterprise (VCFSE) groups and organisations and the public sector. Building on Action Together’s current work this role will be key to developing our approaches to networks and forums, voice and influence and collaboration across the VCFSE.

The ideal candidate

• Is a skilled and experienced facilitator and programme manager.
• Is driven by social justice and addressing the root causes of systemic issues, faced by local communities.
• Is rooted in community and understands the Voluntary, Community, Faith and Social Enterprise Sector.

• Is an excellent communicator and effective in producing reports and presentations to a wide variety of audiences.

Salary: £35,745 - £38,223 per annum

Hours: 36 hours per week

Length of contract: permanent (subject to continued funding)

Location: Hybrid working – Working at our office and in communities in Oldham, and working from home.

About the Team

This key role sits within the Regional Corporate team, which exists to unlock income and brand engagement potential through innovative and multi-layered partnerships with businesses present in local communities and/or with potential to generate up to £100k per year. The team works closely with regional colleagues in the wider Community Fundraising team to maximise value through this priority income stream.

Job Purpose

Our successful candidate will be responsible for maximising regional corporate financial contribution and wider value through effective, supporter-led acquisition and account management.  This is a 12-month maternity cover position, and is a great opportunity to work with a diverse range of teams across fundraising and marketing.

 Key accountabilities

• Identify suitable leads, carry out thorough research, and engage businesses through the prospecting sales journey to secure new regional corporate partnerships
• Provide first-class account management and stewardship for existing partners, maximising value for both parties and supporting long-term retention
• Offer corporate insight and expertise to support acquisition and account management across the department's regional fundraising teams
• Coach and inspire the department's network of Community Fundraising Managers to excel in corporate fundraising
• Collaborate with colleagues across the organisation to develop innovative propositions for businesses
• Support the development and delivery of acquisition, stewardship and product strategies to maximise the income stream's impact on income and brand engagement
• Contribute to the growth and development of the regional corporate pipeline of partnership opportunities
• Contribute to departmental income reporting, budgeting and forecasting.

 Person Profile

• Proven record of corporate new business and securing new partnerships worth over £25k
• Experience of managing high-value corporate-charity relationships and delivering exceptional supporter experience
• Experience of working with fundraising databases (preferably CARE) and pipelines
• Able to think creatively and to develop tailor-made proposals to meet corporate and
  Save the Children objectives
• Excellent relationship management, research and presentation skills
• A natural communicator, both verbal and written with impressive problem-solving and decision-making skills
• The ability to coach and inspire others to achieve ambitious goals
• Willingness to carry out duties outside office hours in the case of an emergency appeal.

Ways of Working:

Who are we looking for to join #TeamGMYN?

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Programme Coordinator to lead our programme for cared for young people aged 10-16 in Bury and Oldham. The programme funded by Children in Need is now in its eleventh year and has provided much needed support for cared for young people.

The programme will engage cared for young people in a variety of weekly enrichment activities, one-to-one support and holiday provision. It will help individuals to build new friendships, develop aspirations and gain access to a supportive worker who they can approach for advice and guidance.

In this role you will need to be confident in inspiring and engaging cared for young people and be able to develop positive partnerships with various stakeholders.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator that can be a flexible and committed team player. In return you will have the chance to have creative ownership of this programme, bringing your own skills and ideas to make it an amazing experience for young people to be involved in.

The main activities delivered through this programme include:

• Life skills workshops such as cooking, budgeting, leading healthy lifestyles workshops.
• One-to-one support to provide bespoke guidance so YP can overcome barriers and set goals.
• Creative/outdoor activities such as music, cooking, drama, art, sport etc.
• Consultations to ensure that young people have a voice in designing the programme.
• Holiday Clubs so young people have access to support during school holidays.

A key part of the role will be promoting the programme to stakeholders and working to recruit young people. The successful candidate will integrate themselves within statutory services to ensure we receive referrals for the programme.

Key responsibilities

• To develop effective relationship with young people who are in care.
• To deliver high quality, fun group work sessions.
• To deliver 1:1 sessions with young people to support development and progression.
• To promote the programme to key stakeholders.
• To develop close working relationships with referral agencies such statutory services, voluntary organisations, and schools.
• To monitor and report on programme outputs and outcomes using GMYN’s programme management database.
• To ensure that all participants and staff are safeguarded and that all activities are delivered safely.
• To effectively project manage the programme, ensuring that all planning, budgeting, recording, and reporting is up to date.
• To ensure that all activities are youth led and youth voice embedded in the programme.
• To conduct administrative tasks related to the role including internal and external communications, programme planning and data inputting.

Leadership Lighthouses, a strategic partnership programme, is our largest initiative to date that aims to address systemic inequities and promote meaningful and inclusive representation.

About Leadership Lighthouses

Leadership Lighthouses will support the development of social leaders from Black and racially minoritised communities, aiming to increase their confidence, skills, resilience and wellbeing, and ultimately, increase the impact they have with the communities they support. This national programme, funded by the National Lottery Community Fund*, follows on from a research project and a successful pilot in 2022.

Over the course of five years, we will work alongside a range of expert partners, and specialised coaches and facilitators to reach around 300 leaders, primarily through local programmes in England, in addition to national activity.

Role Description

The Racial Equity Programme Lead will be part of our talented, agile and welcoming team of 7. This is a newly established role that will be managed by the Programmes Director, and work closely with the CEO, the wider organisation and those involved in this programme, including expert collaborators, partners and a steering group. There are no line management responsibilities.

The key responsibilities of the role are to:

● Offer valuable insights and learning from the Leadership Lighthouses programme and support their integration to       ensure our organisation's work remains inclusive and impactful.

● Lead and manage the Leadership Lighthouses programme, with a collaborative approach, building strong relationships with partners and participants, actively listening and responding to their needs.

● Ensure effective deployment of resources to achieve the programme objectives and targets.

● Design and implement robust management processes to ensure good governance and successful project outcomes.

● Support delivery partners and manage the partnership relationship, ensuring consistent and high-quality work, addressing any shortcomings appropriately.

● Provide administrative support to the Steering Group.

● Anticipate and mitigate risks to ensure milestones and targets are met.

● Monitor expenditure against the programme budget, working with delivery partners to ensure optimal use of available funds.

● Collaborate with the Clore Social Marketing team and other agencies to promote the programme.

Terms and working hours

We are open to discussing flexible arrangements before or on application.

● This is a five-year fixed term contract role.

● The role is to be fulfilled over a 28-hour week, ideally within our core working hours (Mon-Fri, 10am–4pm UK time), with flexibility as required.

Place of work

● This is a hybrid role with one day a week in our shared office space in London (Better Space, 127 Farringdon Road, London EC1R 3DA), the travel costs of which must be covered by the individual. We are open to discussing this arrangement further to accommodate individual needs and preferences.

● Further UK travel will be required on occasion, the costs of which would be covered by Clore Social Leadership.

Pay and benefits

● Salary for this role will be £32,000 based on 28 hours per week (£40,000 full time equivalent FTE).

● The post holder is entitled to 20 days of annual leave (25 days FTE), in addition to UK statutory holidays.

● The office is closed for one week during the winter festive period (25-31 December), providing an additional three days of annual leave in addition to the above allocation.

● You have the option to join our contributory pension scheme. The employer's contribution is 3% with a minimum employee contribution of 5%.

Make a difference by delivering support groups for women and birthing people from culturally diverse backgrounds in Lewisham.

Mindful Mums is an award-winning perinatal mental health and wellbeing peer support project that builds resilience and confidence in women and birthing people in the first year of motherhood.

As a Mindful Mums Project Worker, you will help co-deliver our 5-week Perinatal Wellbeing programme with our peer support volunteers. Within these groups, you will provide a safe, non-judgemental space for women and birthing people to share their experiences, meet others and discuss the challenges that come during the first year of parenthood.

You will be involved in all frontline aspects of the project, including training volunteers who have lived through their own perinatal mental health problems. You will also help to review, monitor and evaluate the project, and disseminate learning.

You will have knowledge of perinatal mental health and the challenges faced by women from culturally diverse backgrounds, be an effective communicator with experience of delivering groups or workshops, and preferably experience of working within community based or voluntary services. Your exceptional organisation skills will support the successful delivery of the project and ensure that it is evaluated effectively.

The Diversity Matters project is open to exploring different group formats to engage and connect with women, such as through conversational groups but also through the use of creativity and music. We are particularly interested in those with an understanding of the additional challenges faced by parents from culturally diverse backgrounds.

Points to note:

• This role will involve travel across the borough of Lewisham, with the option of also delivering Mindful Mums groups in Bromley and Greenwich.
• Groups take place during term time during school hours, Monday – Friday.
• You must be available to deliver a full five-week programme.
• Groups are held within Children’s Centres and community venues across the London Boroughs of Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich.

The Royal Marsden Cancer Charity raises money solely to support The Royal Marsden, a world-leading cancer centre. We ensure our nurses, doctors and research teams can provide the very best care and develop life-saving treatments, which are used across the UK and around the world.

We have exceeded our fundraising targets, over the past three years, raising over £90m against a target of £83m and making over £82m in funding available to The Royal Marsden. However, with one in two of us expected to develop some form of cancer, it is essential that we go even further in our fundraising efforts to support the essential work of The Royal Marsden. The Role

As our Deputy CEO, you'll support the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and be responsible for the delivery of programme, funding and impact strategies. 

You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of Unfold by supporting the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and taking ownership of the delivery of our programmes, funding and impact strategies. Alongside the CEO, you'll play a key role in ensuring ensuring that we continue to deliver high-quality services that make a real difference and create impact, reaching those who need them most.

• Experienced Fundraiser: You have a proven track record in fundraising within the third sector, particularly at a senior level.

• Data-Driven: You understand the importance of data in telling our story and are comfortable analysing data and making our change tangible.

• Experience with CRM systems, especially for fundraising and client data management.

Job Purpose: This role calls for an energetic, highly motivated and organised fundraiser who shares our values. The role will play a vital part in growing Community Fundraising through Running and Challenge events and fundraising.

The postholder will work closely with the Running & Challenge Manager to grow and develop Running & Challenge event income. They will also work with the wider Community Fundraising and Charity team to ensure efficient and successful implementation of the Community Fundraising Strategy.

Alder Hey Children’s Charity raises vital funds to help make Alder Hey Children’s Hospital a truly world-class, patient-friendly hospital for the 450,000 patients and families we care for every year. 

The charity helps to fund a range of activities and projects that are designed to enhance and improve the lives of our amazing young patients. This includes the funding of specialist medical equipment to ensure our brilliant surgeons and clinical staff have the most up to date and cutting-edge technology available and funding hi-tech distraction equipment designed and proven to reduce pain and anxiety in our patients. We also fund a range of programmes and special projects such as our ward musicians, our on-site magician, and the play specialists we have on every ward. 

We have recently closed our Surgical Neonatal Appeal, having successfully raised our £3m target towards a brand new, state of the art Surgical Neonatal Intensive Care Unit (NICU) at the hospital. This year we will be fundraising towards a new Same Day Emergency Care Centre, providing an unrivalled experience for our patients and their families. 

Main Duties/Tasks:

Income Generation

• Develop the portfolio of current Alder Hey running and challenge events.
• Support the Running & Challenge Manager to identify and implement areas for growth and potential new events.
• Build relationships with 3rd Party running and challenge providers, recruit and inspire participants for 3rd party running and challenge events.
• Steward and support donors participating in open running events and challenges.
• Develop and implement the virtual challenge event calendar.

Marketing and Stewardship

• Work with the Running and Challenge Manager and marketing team to ensure effective marketing of open running and challenge events.
• Maximise the engagement and stewardship of participants before, during and after events via effective face to face, telephone and email communication.

Other Duties

• Assist with other aspects of Community and wider Charity fundraising including the Charity events programme.
• To undertake other duties which may be designated from time to time to achieve the Charity’s objectives, including representing the department on occasions, functions and events as required.
• Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.
• Be an active and supportive member of the Alder Hey Children’s Charity team, contributing to the team’s development and working collaboratively with colleagues and volunteers.
• The role may at times include lifting and manual handling
• This role is office based within the Hospital, requires regular evening and weekend working, and frequent travel throughout the North-West
• Any other reasonable duties as required by your line manager.

The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

Shannon Trust are delighted to be working with His Majesty’s Prison & Probation Service (HMPPS) to provide peer-led learning programmes at HMP Maidstone. Working closely with the prison and their staff, people in prison, Shannon Trust volunteers and mentors, this post will lead the delivery and development of our prison based reading and numeracy programme, maximising opportunities for people in prison to learn to read.

Ideally you will have some experience of prison settings underpinned by the ability to build relationships and personal qualities that include resilience, determination and a problem-solving approach.
