We’re seeking a Development Assistant to join the Barbican’s Development department, who are responsible for securing income for the Barbican from a variety of sources including donations, grants, patronage, sponsorship and corporate memberships.

 The Development Assistant supports our fundraising goals in these key areas: 

· Supporter CRM database (Spektrix) 

· Gift Administration

This operational support underpins the success of the Development Department and plays an important role in supporting growth and success of an ambitious fundraising team. This position plays a vital role in assisting in the delivery of efficient administration for the Development team, the highest standard of donor relations and event support. The post holder will work closely with the Development team and provide donor and event-related administrative support for fundraising programmes across the department. This role will join a growing team inside a dynamic institution. As such, there is ample opportunity to shape new processes that help the team achieve financial growth in support of an ambitious and exciting future.

About the Role

As an Events Administrator, the primary focus of the role will be to assist the JPF Events Team to produce face-to-face events that celebrate young people and their achievements. The Jack Petchey Foundation delivers circa 90 live venue events across London and Essex for the Jack Petchey Achievement Award Scheme. The post holder will primarily be based in JPF’s office and will work during the busy term-time period. They will assist in organising JPF’s Achievement Award events, and will provide general administration support for the Events Team.

Purpose of the Role

• Provide general administrative support to the Events Team during term-time.
• Assist the Events Team in organising and producing live venue events, including liaising with schools and youth organisations.
• Support the Event Manager in maintaining the Events Team office, equipment, materials and supplies.
• Ensure effective communication with coordinators in schools and youth organisations and maintain accurate records on JPF systems.

Main Areas of Responsibility

1 Administrative support to Events Team

• Follow up and secure event invitation responses from schools and youth organisations.
• Distribute tickets for live events in good time.
• Source award winners’ citations (the reasons for young people winning their awards) and prepare scripts for event hosts to edit.
• Prepare Leader Award certificates and other event materials.
• Collate event feedback responses and circulate to colleagues.
• Support with preparing management reports on event attendance and participation.
• Upload invoice payments and event financial information to JPF’s database.
• Produce event statistics and support colleagues to prepare management reports and analysis.
• Ensure Risk Assessments are up to date for each Achievement Award event and each venue.
• Ensure all staff and freelancers are briefed appropriately ahead of events.

 2 ​ General Administrative Duties
• Respond to event-related telephone/email enquiries.
• Draft and send letters, using the JPF database.
• Ensure accurate records are kept on the JPF database.
• Take and circulate minutes for Events Team meetings.
• Maintain and develop digital and physical filing systems for the Events Team.

3 Event Materials and Events Office Upkeep
• Support the Events Manager to ensure sufficient supplies of event materials and order new stock as necessary.
• Organise and package event materials and resources for events.
• Ensure supplies of materials are stored in a tidy/accessible manner.

Other Responsibilities
• Actively contribute to Events Team and JPF Team meetings.
• Support specific JPF projects working with young people where required.
• Offer telephone/email support and advice to the public and to school/youth organisation coordinators about JPF events.
• Act within the ethos and policies of the Jack Petchey Foundation and implement JPF values in your day-to-day work.
• Identify opportunities to improve the Events team’s processes and systems to ensure maximum efficiency.
• Undertake any other tasks as agreed with the Events Manager and Head of Events.
• Cover Dockmasters House reception (when required).

The post holder will work as part of the wider team from the Jack Petchey Foundation Headquarters in Canary Wharf.

We are looking for a part-time Assistant Management Accountant to support our Finance team whilst a member of staff is on maternity leave.

We are seeking an individual to undertake the dual role of promoting the profile of the RAF Benevolent Funds welfare offer whilst also carrying out welfare casework. This is a community-based position working from home but covering the South East England region (Buckinghamshire; Oxfordshire; Berkshire; Hampshire; Sussex; Kent).

The post holder will be expected to undertake holistic assessment of need both remotely (over the telephone and online) and when required in person across their region. You will be expected to work with individuals who may have complex and sometimes challenging welfare needs, assisting them by identifying appropriate support from within both the RAF Benevolent Fund but also the wider statutory and military charity sector ensuring that support is made available to meet the need through the caseworking process.

The successful candidate will have experience of working in a social welfare role supporting individuals and will have strong people and relationship-building skills, as well as empathy with or understanding of issues affecting the Armed Forces community. The role is home based, with travel around the region covered as well as occasional travel to London. The successful candidate for this role will need to be DBS checked and prove they have the right to work in the UK.

We have an exciting opportunity for an experienced Financial Capability/ Welfare Benefits Advisor to join our team at the foodbank. Working under the guidance of the Project Manager, and with external advice supervision & expert support you will have the opportunity to help our service grow and develop.

Our clients have been receiving income maximisation and welfare benefits advice for the last couple of years and this has worked really well to ensure they many longer need to use a foodbank. Our desire is that every person has enough money in their pocket to buy food and pay their bills. We work towards an end to the need for foodbanks.

As our advisor you would be working with clients on a one-on-one basis to holistically look at what the underlying causes of their crisis are. You’ll help address these by benefits checks, help with applications, digital inclusion, applying for grants and liasing with our local partners to refer clients for the appropriate help for debt, housing, health issues, energy etc.

You’ll be a strong communicator, organised and able to work on your own initiative. Your heart to serve local people in crisis will be evident in your track record of successfully providing financial inclusion/ welfare benefits advice to vulnerable people. For the right person there is ample opportunity to develop this service in new ways. We already have plans for debt provision in the coming months.

JOB DESCRIPTION: Financial Capability Advisor

Responsible to: The Foodbank Project Manager/ CTiB Trustees

Responsible for: Offering clients of Bexhill & Battle Foodbank quality financial capability advice to ensure that they are empowered to be more financially capable and confident, with the aim of them no longer needing to use a foodbank.

Salary Range: £26,000 – 29,500pa depending on experience

Full-time: 37.5 hours per week

Base: Bexhill Foodbank Advice Service, 28 Sackville Road with attendance at Battle
foodbank as necessary.

Overall responsibility of the Job: Provide financial capability advice and associated casework to help clients address the underlying causes of their crisis, make informed decisions in addressing their needs and to improve their financial resilience. Practically this will mean undertaking benefit reviews, helping clients to apply for welfare and health benefits, supporting clients to challenge benefit decisions and sanctions, referring clients to our trusted partners for energy, debt, housing, immigration and wellbeing, offering digital inclusion help, and supporting our clients in the most appropriate way to help empower them to change their situation.

At all times ensuring quality standards and compliance with industry standards in regard to confidentiality, independence and impartiality, accountability and equality and diversity.

Specific Responsibilities:
Advice & Advocacy
• Provide financial capability advice and associated casework ensuring that clients are supported to overcome issues relating to anything that may be causing detriment, with a focus on preventing destitution and/or homelessness.
• Advise, assist and support clients who could benefit from welfare benefit advice in accordance with agreed procedures, policies and good practice. To complete applications for benefits with clients.
• Act for the client where necessary by calculating, negotiating, drafting or writing letters, emails and telephoning.
• Negotiate with third parties such as statutory and non-statutory bodies as appropriate.
• Refer to other specialist partner agencies as appropriate.
• To act as an advocate for clients in order for them challenge welfare benefit decisions. Referring them on if their case needs a full appeal.
• Guide and work alongside advice service volunteers within the Bexhill Foodbank Advice Service, sharing your specialist knowledge.
• Provide training, briefing sessions and fact sheets to colleagues to ensure they are able to impart up to date, relevant information to clients.

Administration:
• Arrange, confirm and manage client appointments in collaboration with the Foodbank Administrator.
• Ensure the accurate recording of all details of advice and casework on AdvicePro.
• Maintain detailed, up to date and confidential case notes and supporting documentation for the purpose of information retrieval and continuity of casework.
• Confirm advice by letter/email in a clear, concise, and timely manner.
• Along with the Project Manager review cases on a regular basis, ensuring actions are followed up and cases are closed at the appropriate time.
• Work with the Project Manager to monitor progress against identified targets and potential outcomes. Collaboratively creating reports as necessary.
Collaborative Working:
• Work with clients and colleagues to ensure that the Bexhill Foodbank advice service is strongly rooted in the experience of those who access our frontline services, thus providing a person-centered service.
• Develop positive partnership working relationships and referral procedures with relevant statutory, voluntary and community sector providers as appropriate.
• Work collaboratively with other colleagues in the team and wider organisation to enhance the services provided.
• Represent Bexhill Foodbank at a range of local networks and forums.
• Familiarise yourself with and ensure that all Bexhill Foodbank policies are adhered to.

Personal Development:
• Maintain up to date knowledge of the benefit system, case law and the effects of welfare reform and forthcoming changes.
• Prepare for and attend supervision sessions/ team meetings as appropriate.
• Attend relevant internal and external meetings as agreed with the Project Manager

And undertake any other reasonable tasks at a commensurate level as requested by the Foodbank Project Manager.

Training
Training will be provided in all aspects of the job role and ongoing training will be made available to the successful applicant in areas such as welfare benefits changes, debt, housing, GDPR, H&S, safeguarding & other legislation and personal development skills.

Person Specification

Essential
• Substantial proven experience of providing advice and casework support to individuals and families who have complex needs including homelessness and welfare rights advice.
• Experience of maintaining and reviewing casefiles, as well as effectively managing their caseload.
• Knowledge and understanding of the rights, entitlements and support available to the client group and of referral processes to statutory and non-statutory support agencies.
• In-depth knowledge of the current benefits available to those on a low income, with a particular focus on Universal Credit.
• Empathy and ability to work with people from disadvantaged, marginalised, or socially excluded backgrounds.
• A sound knowledge and understanding of safeguarding procedures for children and vulnerable adults.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Good working knowledge of data privacy and GDPR.
• Clear understanding of equality, diversity and inclusion and of how to create and maintain accessible and appropriate services.
• Confident IT user and able to learn new computer systems.
• Ability to communicate and establish good relationships with a range of people.

English Rural Housing Association is a leading national rural specialist working to provide affordable homes in small villages for local people. Your role will be to take the lead in ensuring that the housing and medical needs of residents are comprehensively researched and understood to inform the design and implementation of planned works. The Warehouse & Logistics Coordinator is responsible for coordinating the flow of food into and out from the warehouses: collections from supermarkets, food purchasing, for sorting and storing food within the warehouses, and maintaining stock levels in Foodbank Welcome Centres and Fairbite Food Clubs (as required).

DUTIES:

● Ensure effective warehouse storage and management procedures, maintaining stock levels to meet demand, including purchasing food in line with agreed procedures, and managing stock levels between warehouses as donations ebb and flow throughout the year.

● Oversee the change of warehouse premises, from the existing sites in Orwell Furlong / Nuffield Road, to a new site tbc, prior to March 2026.

● Manage the warehouse in a safe and well organised manner, ensuring all health and safety procedures are maintained, gas/electric/fire compliance certificates are up to date, and that staff / volunteers are adequately trained on health and safety.

● Induct, train and supervise staff and volunteer teams in warehouse and logistics operations, and develop sufficient capacity to cover periods of holiday and sickness (including the supervision of young people on DofE service).

● Liaise with Welcome Centres / Fairbite Food Clubs (as required) to maintain their stocks and ensure that the correct type and number of food-items are delivered in time.

● Oversee the use of the charity’s vehicles, ensuring they are maintained in clean and roadworthy condition, that they remain serviced, repaired, insured and taxed, and that all drivers are appropriately authorised prior to use.

● Ensure effective transport of food; to Welcome Centres / Fairbite Food Clubs, from collection points, and between warehouses as required, coordinating drivers.

● Purchase food, to maintain a consistent supply when donated stock items are low, and to support the operation of Fairbite Food Clubs (as required).

● Make the warehouse available to receive public donations at the published times.

● Ensure good records are kept for stock and transfers in and out of the warehouse

● Organise an annual stock check.

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:
