About the role:

The British Museum has built a reputable prospect research function which supports both Advancement and the Museum's wider management. Our research strategically harnesses information and data to drive fundraising decisions. We ensure we have the right tools, skills and networking that supports the Museum with its mission. Our internal service also includes the provision of non-philanthropic research for Trustee Business and other Museum departments.

Our research is regularly audited and designed to adhere to recommendations set out by The National Audit Office, and numerous internal policies and financial controls. As with any function, the processes in place are reviewed regularly to ensure we remain effective and compliant.

This post will focus on providing the Museum with exceptional due diligence reports. It will play a key role in supporting the work of the Advancement Operations Team.

The successful candidate will combine excellent interpersonal skills, exceptional research and prospecting skills, with a high level of accuracy and detail.

Key areas of responsibility:

• To take primary responsibility for Due Diligence for the department, including requests from senior leadership, ensuring the best possible standards are achieved.
• To provide briefing notes for key events (such as dinners) and support with researching prospects and donors for key stakeholders across the Museum.
• To champion use of the CRM database (Raiser's Edge) - taking primary responsibility for improving prospect and donor data, maintaining exceptional accuracy in the Prospect module and Notes tab on the Raiser's Edge database as well as monitor supporter data and ensure that supporters are appropriately canvassed, working with the Database Manager to devise technical solutions.
• To play an active role in ensuring supporter data compliance in accordance to the regulations specified in UK GDPR and The Fundraising Regulator.
• To assist in the training and supervision of new staff and volunteers within Advancement.
• Play an active role in greeting guests at Museum evening and breakfast events as necessary and where necessary attend events outside of general working hours (time off in lieu will be given).
• To deputise for the Research and Fundraising Priorities Manager.

About you:

• Educated to A-level or equivalent.
• Experience as a Due Diligence Research Assistant/ Data Assistant.
• Full IT literacy, understanding of CRM databases and of the General Data Protection Regulation and Fundraising Code of Practice.
• Experience in conducting Prospect Research and Due Diligence screening and working at a charity or not for profit organisation.
• Excellent analytical and research skills with the ability to read and analyse a significant amount of data.
• Strong attention to detail, able to multi-task and improve tasks and procedures.
• Ability to work proactively and methodically to deadlines, independently or as part of a team, calm and patiently, and work out of hours (time off in lieu will be given).

Position Overview

We are seeking a highly motivated and organised individual to join our team as a Fundraising Assistant. In this role, you will play a vital part in supporting our fundraising efforts to advance our impact in supporting care experienced people.

The Fundraising Assistant will work closely with the Fundraiser to execute various administrative and operational fundraising activities, manage donor relationships, and contribute to the overall success of our fundraising initiatives.

We’re looking for someone with great people skills, as well as drive, initiative, and determination. You’ll be diligent with details and accuracy and have a dynamic approach to your work. You will be a natural problem solver, always looking to improve upon current processes to enhance efficiency. You will develop and maintain both internal and external contacts and be able to research and undertake analysis of funding streams, bids, and tenders and support in their collation and submission.

Administrative Support:

Provide administrative support to the Fundraiser, including scheduling meetings, preparing documents, and managing correspondence.

Donor Management:

Assist in maintaining donor records, including contact information, donation history, and communication preferences, using a CRM database.

Donation Processing:

Process donations, issue acknowledgment letters, and ensure accurate recording of donations in the database.

Fundraising Campaign Support:

Assist in the planning, coordination, and execution of fundraising campaigns and events, including mailings, online fundraising initiatives, and donor appreciation events.

Prospect Research:

Conduct research on prospective donors, including individuals, corporations, and foundations, to identify new funding opportunities and support donor cultivation efforts.

Communication:

Support the creation and distribution of fundraising materials, such as appeal letters, newsletters, and social media posts, to engage donors and promote fundraising initiatives.

Grant Administration:

The Role

This is an exciting and challenging position, which will be pivotal in growing the acquisition programme as part of our 5-year strategy. Working closely with the rest of the A&W team and wider stakeholders, such as the Communications team, media and creative agencies, you'll help to optimise acquisition activity as we scale up investment in this area. This is an opportunity for someone to help make a real difference to a varied programme using a test and learn approach.

In addition to leading DRTV, this role also involves delivering a variety of other important activity as required, such as inserts and welcome journeys. There are opportunities to turn your hand to a range of channels and product promotion as we aim to scale up channels such as inserts.

Criteria

We’re looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual with excellent communication and analytical skills. You’ll enjoy looking for ways to optimise all elements of campaigns from creative, content and media testing and able to act as a key point of knowledge in this area. Experience of DRTV is required, with an understanding of individual giving fundraising KPIs, including in relation to: DRTV, print, telemarketing, email and landing pages. You will be confident working with data with attention to detail and accuracy, from briefing data criteria for emails to using excel to review and share results. You will also be able to engage wider stakeholders in our acquisition testing plan development, providing clear regular communication to update on progress and learnings.

Switchboard’s listening service is available to all LGBTQIA+ communities in the UK. It offers a safe space for anyone to discuss anything, including topics such as sexuality, gender identity, sexual health, and emotional well-being and more. Handling over 17,000 conversations each year, their services continue to be in high demand, with their network of volunteers overing a vital service to people across the country in times of need, but also proving incredible insights into the issues that impact the LGBTQIA+ community the most.

Since 2021 the organisation has been on a journey to establish a staff team to oversee day-to-day operations within the charity. They are now looking to introduce this new role as they grow throughout 2024 to a team of 11.

Prospectus is delighted to be supporting Switchboard as they look to appoint a Volunteer Community Lead to join the organisation.

This position is offered on a full-time, hybrid basis with 2 days working in the London office a week and the remaining flexibly from home.

The role:

This brand-new role sits within the staff team at Switchboard and reports directly to the Head of Volunteering and Training. The post will work closely with key volunteer-led operational teams. As the charity looks to cover its rota more effectively, they are working towards recruiting and training around 100 new volunteers in 2024, taking the total membership to around 350. This number will continue to grow each year, until they are able to handle ALL of the calls, IMs and emails the service receives.

With this in mind, Switchboard wants to ensure they not only retain new volunteers for a number of years, but that each volunteer books regular shifts, are looked after and feel welcomed and an important part of an active, vibrant and inclusive community.

This role reports into the Head of Volunteering and Training and oversees four main areas: volunteer socials, wellbeing initiatives, celebrations and EDI endeavours. This role is key to ensuring the charity retains, nurtures and engages volunteers within Switchboard, and that they create a community of volunteers which reflects the rich diversity of the wider LGBTQIA+ community.

This vital role will entail, delivering a range of in-person and online engagement events throughout the year, managing the Pride activations for 2025 and onwards, overseeing Switchboard’s programme of volunteer celebrations, managing wellbeing initiatives and ensuring Switchboard continues to celebrate being  a rich, diverse and inclusive organisation.

The person:

The successful candidate will have extensive experience of organising and producing social and professional events of all shapes and sizes. They will have strong exposure to EDI initiatives and will have a natural interest, or actual experience in promoting wellbeing in the work-place.

This person will have outstanding people skills as the soft skill aspects of this role will be absolutely critical to its success. It will be important that this person demonstrates a broad understanding of the issues and challenges people from the LGBTQIA+ community face in their everyday lives. Similarly, this person will need to appreciate that these issues and challenges will also be faced by Switchboard’s community of volunteers as a result.

You will have extensive experience of organising social gatherings in a professional or volunteering setting, both large and small, collating and analysing data to measure effectiveness & impact, managing third party supplier & contractor relationships, in addition to having a collaborative, communicative & empathetic approach to mobilising networks and driving forward levels of customer service and Volunteer experience.

This person will be comfortable with public speaking and engaging audiences, will be highly organised and above all, fully committed to the work of Switchboard, becoming a natural advocate for the organisation both internally and externally as a result. This person will need to be able to manage all in-person events, wherever they are based, so some locational flexibility will be required.

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, managing the accounts of existing corporate partners and generating income through securing new corporate partnerships. These partnerships will generate both donations and earned income, with corporate partners contracting Tender to deliver workplace training. You will also work closely with our Corporate Advisory Board, which includes a diverse, ambitious group of professionals who are supporting us to maximise our corporate income stream. This role will involve a diverse range of work, from identifying prospects, creating compelling funding approaches and workforce training pitches, through to successfully managing relationships with corporate partners.

The main purposes of the Development Officer role are:

• Working with the Development team to collectively achieve annual fundraising targets exceeding £2m per year
• Selling workplace training and donation opportunities to corporate partners across a range of industries, but in particular the legal and financial services sectors
• Supporting the CEO and Development Director to increase Tender’s workplace training delivery in order to achieve income targets through sales
• Contributing to applications and events in support of fundraising from other sources

Following an internal promotion we are recruiting an Adventure Play & Youth Worker at Manchester Young Lives, to provide open access and targeted play and youth work activities. Our after-school adventure play provision is Ofsted registered and provides activities for 6-13 year olds. Our youth provision engages with young people aged 11-16 after school and during the evenings.

Our work enables often disadvantaged children and young people the opportunity to learn, develop and connect with their communities, build safe and supportive relationships with committed workers, and let off steam on our adventure playgrounds.

Manchester Young Lives is a 54-year-old children and young people’s charity that grew out of the inner city adventure play movement. We work to promote the social and education inclusion of children and young people, and are a warm supportive environment to work in. Programme Promotion: 

• Promote the training programme to referral organisations and potential students by delivering inspiring and motivating presentations to attract potential applicants.

Information and Taster Sessions:

An exciting opportunity to lead a high-performing fundraising team and help shape our new fundraising campaign to improve patient care and reduce ill health across communities.

As Director of Development, you’ll lead our efforts to bring major donors, trusts/foundations and corporate partners into long term relationships of trust with the Royal College of Physicians. Your core responsibility will be to encourage and motivate the fundraising team, including line management of the Deputy Director for Corporate Partnerships and the Head of Philanthropy. You’ll also cultivate your own individual portfolio of international donors and find opportunities to engage face-to-face with prospective supporters at the major and principal gift level.

The Growing Younger team will work collaboratively and creatively to enable the delivery of the Growing Younger stream of the Diocesan Transformation programme, with a specific focus on building mission and discipleship pathways for 0-25s, growing missional chaplaincy in FE colleges and schools, and raising up new youth and children’s leaders.

The successful candidates will each have a focused area of work (children, youth, young adults) and will work both individually and collectively to support the development and implementation of local mission initiatives, spending a substantial proportion of their time in parishes and deaneries to raise local aspirations, grow local vision and strategy, increase local capacity and pioneer local mission.

We have an exciting new opportunity for a Social Prescriber to join our team in Merton.

The Merton Social Prescribing service is one of the most established and mature services in the UK and is celebrating its 7th anniversary this year. We are seeking an individual to join our successful service in Southwest London. This role will help to strengthen the links between Primary Care, voluntary and public services to improve patients’ health and wellbeing. 

You will provide a person centred service to patients within Primary Care GP practices in Merton, and you will also support each patient to access appropriate services provided by voluntary and community organisations and other agencies. 

Social prescribing expands the options available in Primary Care by creating a ‘managed’ way for referrals of patients with social, emotional and/or practical needs. Patients ca n be linked to a variety of local non-clinical services in the community. These include leisure, social activities, education, welfare, housing and employment advice and support.
