Role Requirements

As part of the site services team the role holder will be expected to liaise with managers and staff across the Trust. The role holder is expected to work closely with the other members of the facilities team and assist in covering in the laundry, in the deep clean team or other works as and when required.

Site wide general housekeeping service – ensure that the housekeeping services is of an acceptable level and is consistent across site.

• Carry out a cleaning service in allocated buildings/rooms/areas ensuring that daily tasks are completed according to the standard operating procedures in relation to the cleanliness/hygiene standards.
• Follow infection control procedures whenever carrying out duties and ensure procedures are followed should there be an infection control outbreak.
• Liaise with the Housekeeping Supervisor and House Staff on a daily basis – carrying out special requests in relation to Housekeeping.
• Ensure safe storage of cleaning materials and equipment and sufficient stock is maintained – informing the Housekeeping Supervisor of stock requiring ordering.
• Assist in the cleaning of communal areas on a daily basis and cleaning of carpets, curtains, and high dusting on a rotating schedule.
• Ensure that any repairs required to fixtures and fittings are reported to the designated Facilities Helpdesk as soon as possible and any issues are reported to the Housekeeping Supervisor.
• Assist in routine housekeeping audits as outlined in the planned preventative maintenance (PPM) schedules and ensure any works are to agreed service levels.
• Prioritise work to complete assignments in a timely manner.
• Assist other members of the Site Services and Facilities teams as required.
• Undertake other or additional duties that are within your skills and abilities, as the organisation may reasonably require from time to time.

Through a partnership with Shooters Hill College, we have secured funding for a Young People’s Counsellor. The successful candidate will provide individual, face-to-face counselling support in weekly 50-minute sessions to students attending Shooters Hill College who require support with their mental health and/or wellbeing.

You will be a qualified counsellor with experience of working with young people. You will understand the importance of caseload management, service evaluation and will be familiar with impact and outcomes measurement of counselling interventions. These will be carried out at the beginning and end of therapy and throughout the duration of the service using appropriate clinical measurement tools and a satisfaction survey. You will also have experience of using CRM databases.

You will need to be organised and have the confidence to communicate effectively with a range of people. A flexible can-do attitude and a calm, problem-solving approach is also essential for this role. We consider accessibility, responsiveness and a client-centred approach the key strengths of our services at SEL Mind. You will be able to demonstrate these qualities through relevant work experience.

About the Role

As the Financial Controller you will be part of the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and report into the Chief Executive Officer. You will lead a small team and manage the relationship with our existing outsourced finance team, payroll provider and auditors to deliver high quality professional finance services to the charity. You will be responsible for the financial systems and processes and ensuring the quality and timeliness of work delivered.

Galop has gone through a period of rapid growth and you will be continuing the work to align its financial practices to its new operating model. Personally, you will be resilient and driven to develop, implement and improve financial policies. You will be working with the Treasurer and SLT to improve financial management and controls. Your financial analysis and reporting skills will be exceptional and you’ll have the ability to manage people setting clear goals and priorities for your team whilst providing support and challenge where needed.

You will work closely with other teams to establish regular, clear, and consistent channels of communication at all levels within the organisation. You will build and maintain strong relationships with senior managers and their teams and will; improve the understanding of charity’s performance; influence decision-making; deliver analysis and insight on business opportunities and support options and scenarios planning including funding applications.

The RSAA has been changing rapidly in the last few years and you will be joining the team at an exciting time, as we approach our 125th anniversary in 2026.

Membership administration is the core of this diverse role and there is some scope to shape it to the strengths of the successful applicant.  You will be seen  by the members of the Society as their principal point of contact and the ability to build relationships with them will be important. Elements of financial administration, support to fundraising, publications and events will also be substantial parts of the job.  A full job description and person specification can be downloaded.

You will be joining a very small team.  Collaborative working is essential, as are meticulous attention to detail and the ability to work with relatively light supervision once settled into the role.  A flexible approach is also needed.  Some elements of the job are predictable, but many are not and consultation with others, a degree of creativity, and persistence will often be needed. 

This is a part-time role equivalent to three days per week.  You will work at our Covent Garden office at least one day per week, but remote working is also part of the way we operate and will be increasingly an option after your first few weeks in the role.

You will be comfortable using Microsoft Word and be familiar with other MS Office programmes.  Training can be provided on other software as needed. 

You must have the right to work in the UK.  We cannot provide sponsorship for work visas.

About us: Playskill is an award-winning specialist early intervention charity supporting pre-school children with physical disabilities and delays, and their families, in Hertfordshire. We are the only charity providing this type of support, free of charge, in the county.

Since 2006, our highly qualified and experienced team has supported over 440 physically disabled children and their families to access specialist therapy, advice and support, with the end goal of supporting the children to reach personal development milestones and to achieve better life outcomes.

Skills and Experience Required:

· Previous experience as a Financial Controller in a similar role

· Experience in preparing monthly management accounts and year-end accounts for

  audit

· Solid knowledge of financial and accounting procedures

· Excellent organisational skills, able to prioritise and manage work to deadlines.

· A team player, proactive in supporting and communicating with finance and non-

  finance colleagues

· Part-qualified from a recognised accountancy body

· Experience with Xero

· Experience in overseeing payroll processes

Reporting directly to the Controller (Chief Executive) and as a member of the Executive Leadership Team, when required, the Associate Director of Strategy and Impact will have the responsibility to lead and manage the Research and Evaluation, Applications Development and Business Intelligence teams to ensure the Fund is a research led and enabled organisation. The role will require strong leadership to ensure all these facets continue to deliver innovative ways to support the Fund’s strategy and ambitions.

We are seeking someone with good attention to detail, the ability to prioritise and have a strong work ethic.  You will also be able to understand and analyse complex business concepts and engage with the Fund to proactively support the delivery of strategic objectives.  Being a good team player and having excellent written & verbal communication skills is crucial. 

You will be able to build and develop various methods to influence and promote insights, including your experience in applying research and/or data to develop organisational change in order to help the Fund remain relative, competitive, and sustainable. In addition, you will bring your experience of dealing with complex problems and your proven ability to deliver change to this role. 

The role is based in the London office, with the expectation to work a minimum of three days in the office. The successful candidate for this role will need to prove they have the right to work in the UK.
