Sense has a fantastic opportunity for someone to join our Engagement team as our Campaigns Manager. This is a full time position working 37.5 hours per week. This role will a hybrid position working between home and our office in King's Cross, London, with a minimum of 2 office days a week.

Sense campaigns to create a fairer society for disabled people and their families. Sense campaigns focus on the issues that matter most to the people we support, from the cost-of-living to social care. They are aimed at driving public awareness, engagement and positive change in people’s lives. We are looking for an experienced campaigner who is passionate about driving change, and able to lead organisational projects. You will play a leading role in campaign strategy for the organisation and help Sense really make an impact for disabled people and their families.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead on the development and delivery of Sense campaigns, working alongside the Head of Media & Campaigns and Head of Policy, Public Affairs and Research.
• Decide on campaign priorities and make recommendations on the most appropriate course of actions to achieve Sense’s campaigning and influencing strategy.
• Ensure Sense has a consistent narrative and that disabled people and their families remain at the heart of our campaigns, that Sense is a sector leader in terms of campaigning, and that we are compliant with new charity regulations. 
• Lead on the evaluation and reporting back of campaigns to the team and wider organisation.
• Provide leadership and expertise around campaigning strategy and management to senior management and trustees.
• Be an active member of the Media & Campaigns management team, ensuring team and project plans and budgets are developed, managed and reported against.

• Significant experience of campaigning work, designed to achieve change, that generates support and mobilises supporters.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Regional Casework Manager to join the Greater London Region at SSAFA, the Armed Forces charity. 

You will be part of the regional office team, managing two Regional Casework Co-ordinators, which will provide specialist administrative and single point of contact support to SSAFA branch-based volunteers, to ensure a consistent, timely and quality service is provided to SSAFA beneficiaries.  The role will require you to develop and maintain collaborative working relationships with volunteers, including branch-based casework managers.  At times, the role will require support to the Regional Casework Co-ordinators with call handling, signposting, and the triage of initial enquiries from clients. 

To help you establish yourself in this post you will receive excellent training and induction to SSAFA.  You will influence the processes and procedures within the regional office as it develops, working in a close team and line managed by the Regional Operations Manager. 

The post is home-based, but you will have to travel occasionally into London. 

About the team 

The regional office is a “virtual” office and supports three SSAFA branches in the Greater London region, as the volunteers deliver casework for SSAFA beneficiaries.  The successful candidate will work as part of a support team which includes two Regional Casework Co-ordinators and a Regional Operations Manager.  All team members are home based.

About you 

To be successful in this role you will have a good standard of education, experience of managing employees, together with managing and reporting on service delivery.  You will have a track record of building and maintaining relationships with stakeholders, together with achieving results through negotiation and influence.  Previous experience of working with volunteers would be an asset.  You will have used Microsoft Office 365 to a high standard and be capable of quickly learning a computerised case management system and be proficient with numbers.  The successful candidate will have experience of planning and managing their own workload, with minimal supervision. 

It would be advantageous to have an understanding of the way of life for today’s Armed Forces, veterans and their families. An understanding of the voluntary sector would be valuable, and the military charity sector landscape across London would be helpful.  Commitment to SSAFA’s values including equality, diversity and inclusion is vital.

ABOUT THE ROLE

The purpose of this role is to manage all aspects of how Feedback communicates our work to help achieve our strategic goals. This includes centring communities, building our public profile with key audiences including journalists, developing our range of allies, reflecting our understanding of historical injustice in the food system, and fostering an experimentation and learning culture. As Feedback has recently rebranded and changed its name, this role will involve carefully managing the journey of embarking with a new brand.

This role would suit an experienced communications professional who is excited to think deeply about the way communications can support systemic change in the food sector. Experience with managing relationships with journalists and media outlets, identifying and pursuing stories, managing change, and contributing to organisational learning will be important.

Everyone at Feedback is engaged in our journey towards fully embodying the principles of an anti-racist and anti-oppressive organisation, and as Communications Manager you will take the opportunity to think deeply and act on these principles in our approach to communications. 1. Build and develop Feedback’s media profile (approx 30% of time) by:

c. Drafting media materials including pitch documents, press releases and Q&A documents.

2. To manage Feedback’s brand and public profile (approx. 30% of time) by:

b. Fully deliver the roll-out of Feedback’s new brand and its application to every aspect of our communications work.

3. To manage the communications pipeline (approx. 30% of time) by:

a. Acting as a quality control and adviser on all communications outputs from across the team to ensure that form and content are as effective and creative as possible.

b. Thinking and experimenting with the application of our anti-racism and anti-oppressive work to our communications.

c. Managing sub-contractors as necessary to deliver high quality content in a timely manner.

d. Managing the communications budget.

4. Develop a learning system to continually learn and improve on how we do communications at Feedback (approx. 10% of time) by:

a. Monitoring and tracking impact of Feedback’s communications outputs

We have been awarded a significant grant from the Defra Trees Call to Action Fund for #Defra Heart of England: growing momentum, capacity, skills and trees. In partnership with Stratford-on-Avon, Warwick, and Wychavon District Councils, the Heart of England Forest is leading this three year project to engage with landowners and local communities to increase tree cover across the landscape. Working together to identify suitable areas for trees to be planted, facilitate tree planting, and support woodland maintenance, new woodlands will be created that benefit the environment, boost biodiversity, and provide havens for communities to enjoy.

We are looking for two candidates with widespread experience of project delivery and good team working skills. The successful candidates will work closely with project partners to engage with local communities and larger scale landowners to identify suitable areas for tree planting.  Working with them to understand their needs, you will provide information on different types of planting and support them through the regulatory and funding process.

You will be passionate about landscape-scale conservation and the benefits this brings to both people and wildlife and have a demonstrable track record in successful team working.

The post will be based in the Heart of England Forest head office in Dorsington, but due to the nature of the project  hybrid working will form part of the role.  Each project delivery post has been assigned a particular geographic area – Warwick, Stratford-on-Avon or Wychavon district – and will be expected to travel extensively across their project area. However, both posts will contribute to delivery across the wider project area as applicable, working on a collaborative manner with the existing project team.

We are now looking for someone to join us as Health and Safety Manager, where you will play a crucial role in ensuring the organisation meets its legal, regulatory, and contractual obligations while fostering a culture of safety and wellbeing for all stakeholders. Key responsibilities will include:

• Oversee relevant policy and procedure, training and advice service across St Mungo’s, ensuring these are reviewed and maintained to meet requirements.
• Organise a programme of audits, investigations, reviews and monitoring against health and safety standards in both a planned and reactive manner and lead a team of Officers and Advisors to effectively deliver this programme of work.
• Facilitate engagement with health and safety activities across the organisation through various channels such as briefings, presentations, and training sessions.
• Provide line management, support and supervision to a small H&S team.

In this role you will be required to work flexibly for at least 2 days per week from our Central Office in Tower Hill, London. This allows for in person collaboration, team building, and other relationship building opportunities. We support a flexible approach to work with opportunities for agile working for the rest of your week; from home, or other St Mungo’s London or regional locations. 

About you

We are looking for a proactive, detail-oriented individual who will demonstrate a strong commitment to health and safety standards, possess the ability to effectively engage and train others, and exhibit sound judgment in handling complex situations. You will have:

• Excellent communication skills and the ability to build relationships and influence a variety of different people at different levels.
• Experience of leading health and safety programmes, carrying out audits, investigations, reviews, and monitoring in terms of health and safety.
• Experience of leading and managing staff and motivating them to provide a high standard of service.
• Understanding of the issues faced by people experiencing homelessness and an interest in working for a homelessness charity.

To do this, we are looking for a self-motivated Workplace Ministry Manager to develop this ministry within OMF UK as an effective and accessible pathway for people to use their vocation in the marketplaces of East Asia to share Jesus Christ.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate proven experience in building purposeful networks across cultures, developing organisational infrastructure and an ability to identify workplace opportunities and create promotional resources. In addition to this, the candidate should have excellent organisational skills, interpersonal skills, and a strong personal drive to grow and develop this workplace ministry pathway into the workplaces of East Asia. The role

This role will lead design projects to shape UK Youth’s support to young people and professionals working with young people. This could include structured youth work programmes, grant funds, professional development programmes, and campaigns.

You will be confident in taking a human-centred-design approach to tackle some of the youth sector’s knottiest problems. You will help to improve the skills and confidence of colleagues across UK Youth to apply design methods in their own work. 

In 2024, our priority topics for youth work programmes and network development are: mental health, employability, youth social action, outdoor learning and physical literacy. 

You will work closely the research, evaluation, policy, service delivery, network development, and fundraising teams. You will meaningfully involve young people and the professionals who support them in the design process. 

You will design solutions to important problems, ensuring that they are feasible, equitable, and impactful.
