We have a new opportunity for a specialist Dual Diagnosis Worker to join the team in Croydon on a 12 month fixed term contract. This is a new role to the team and you will deliver evidence-based interventions based on  holistic assessments to support personalised recovery, integration, and promotion of independent living skills. You will work to the long term support needs of our residents and work towards facilitating improved outcomes. 

Our service has 27 residents across 4 sites, which specialise in Forensic Mental Health aiming to enable and empower our residents to achieve their maximum levels of functional independence and enhance their sense of wellbeing.

Shift Pattern:  This role is full time 37.5 hours per week. Hours to be discussed, you will be based in service.

OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

• Set up realistic and flexible strengths-based support plans, working closely with colleagues and support teams to support and advise on interventions and approaches to meet resident/participant needs.
  Include appropriate substance misuse interventions within support plans for those with co-occurring substance dependence and mental health need devising systematic plans for care; implementing this plan; coordinating the input of others and evaluating effectiveness.
• Undertake joint holistic assessments and risk assessments with residents/participants to help determine service and support needs and identify where these can be met. Provide outcome-based support measured against goals, recovery, and achievements.
• Encourage residents/participants to identify and define their own goals and work towards being resilient and independent as possible, support with reducing reliance on clinical interventions and hospitalisations. 
• Promote active involvement of those with dual diagnosis, assist residents/participants to identify their own strengths, personal interests and goals and support them to access and participate in activities of their choice.
• Undertake time-limited, SMART, and a range of evidence-based interventions such as 1-1’s, including harm minimisation, increasing awareness and motivation through stages of change and relapse prevention.
• Support in creating and maintaining a welcoming, psychologically informed home environment for residents/participants, ensuring a continuous focus on safety, health, and wellbeing.
• Positively promote and support connections with local communities and boroughs of SIG’s services and liaise with other teams to maintain and share knowledge and links to support people to access resources which include print, personal and digital.
• Develop community links and liaise regularly with a range of agencies and individuals across voluntary and third sector services in the community including but not limited to; drug and alcohol services, supported employment schemes, gyms and healthy living programmes, recovery colleges, and benefits and advice agencies.
• Act as a role model for staff of all disciplines and grades working with people with co-occurring mental health, alcohol and/or drug problems. 
• Share knowledge and skills to help enhance awareness around dual diagnosis and best practice, challenges, and services available with other services of Social Interest Group.

Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position. 

KEY CRITERIA

What we are looking for:

• Knowledge, understanding and experience of working with people of complex backgrounds. Ideally ex-offenders, those with enduring mental health, substance misuse and challenging behaviours
• Experience of assessing needs and strengths, and supporting people with dual diagnosis and complex needs
• Previous experience in a similar role, providing holistic assessments and support for people experiencing mental illness who use substances
• IT Proficiency, including Microsoft Office, and the ability to navigate and learn new case management systems and other types of organisational software
• Able to recognise ill health and additional support and need for interventions
• Knowledge of the interactions between mental health problems and drug and alcohol use and the issues facing people trying to stabilise their situation
• Applied knowledge of the principles of risk assessment and risk management, particularly in relation to harm minimisation
• Ability to engage those who may be hard to reach, able to influence and negotiate positive outcomes with others

What we would like, but not essential:

• Experience in delivering training in motivational interviewing, Cognitive Behavioural Theory informed approaches and other relevant recovery models

We're on the hunt for an experienced fundraiser to become a part of our growing Foundation team here at The Openwork Partnership. Armed with exceptional communication skills and a sharp eye for identifying fundraising prospects, you'll be instrumental in forging new relationships and steering successful fundraising drives.

Your mission will involve orchestrating a variety of fresh events across the UK, aimed at our robust network of 8,000 colleagues and partners. Your efforts will not only boost engagement but also propel the Openwork Foundation's annual income to surpass the £1 million mark.

This is an 18 month fixed term hybrid role, based 2 days a week in our Swindon office, however travel to events is required.

• Proven experience in arranging and delivery of accessible and inclusive fundraising events, including securing prizes and leveraging pro-bono support

• Experience of supporting others to run events at a local level, establishing a best practice for them to follow

The Role

• To lead, manage and develop a team within Fundraising in line with corporate standards in order to meet business requirements
• To participate in Fundraising or cross-functional projects as required to support the department's fundraising as a whole, and where appropriate to take the lead in such projects

About the opportunity

As an Impact Analyst, you will work within a team across 2-3 social impact projects initially. An example of one of the programmes you will become a key part of delivering is a community based, preventative emotional resilience and wellbeing pilot called Turning Tides.

Turning Tides is a two-year pilot programme testing innovative means of protecting and promoting the mental health and wellbeing of vulnerable young people along the North Yorkshire Coast. The programme leverages local organisations and their expertise, providing each young person a dedicated coach who works to identify a participant's strengths and ambitions – and takes a community-based asset development approach to match those goals with opportunities in the local area.

Responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include.

· Overseeing all data related aspects of the programme including data collection, extraction, cleaning, analysis, reporting, and presentation.

· Gathering and analysing quantitative and qualitative data to measure the impact of service innovations for the programmes you are working across. Produce regular reports and insights that aid decision making to continuously improve programme design.

· Taking initiative to propose and implement relevant analyses to the project to maximise positive impact for participants with the programmes you are supporting.

· Building relationships and working at times directly with Delivery Partners (VCSE organisations who are delivering the frontline services for the programme) to ensure they are able to use the data systems accurately and effectively,

· Identifying opportunities for process automation and improving utilisation of management data by colleagues across the programme.

· Supporting the Programme Lead on all operational and project management needs, including coordination of team activities and providing other administrative support.

· Working with the Investment Lead and colleagues in Finance, to ensure invoices for outcomes achieved by participants within programmes are processed.

· Engaging with other analysts across BOP to share learnings from your own project and implement learnings from other projects in your own.

Job overview

We are recruiting Lead Coaches across our delivery locations in England and Wales to join our squad in August for the new academic year. This is a frontline role where you will spend the majority of your time working with young people, building relationships with them and delivering our full programme of activities which includes rugby based activity sessions, employability workshops, career taster days and more.

You will be working with some of the hardest to reach young people who are most at risk of exclusion, in small groups of 8-10. We use rugby as a hook and mentorship as an anchor, using our four cornerstones (developing life skills, raising aspirations, improving physical wellbeing, focus on mental wellbeing) to develop young people throughout their time with us. We enable young people to be in a better position to enter sustained education, employment or training (EET) when they leave school.  

The delivery team always work in pairs, running our interventions across a variety of settings (including mainstream schools, Pupil Referral Units, Alternative Provisions, SEN schools, Youth Offenders Institutes, community centres and rugby clubs) working in the school timetable and between 3-7pm. While delivering our interventions is a big part of the job, you will also be responsible for supporting the team to ensure the successful collection of data, managing school relationships and delivering on partnership projects.

You do not need to be a rugby fanatic for this role, but you do need to be passionate about social mobility of the excluded. We are looking for someone with a youth work, teaching, mentoring or sports coaching background to help strengthen our team as we work towards our forward strategy.

About the role

You’ll be responsible for leading the development of our Procurement Strategy and the associated policies and processes, as well as managing key procurement activity, increasing the skills of colleagues and developing our approach to reporting and compliance. You will be responsible for promoting good procurement practice with regards to sustainability, ethical purchasing and whole life costing. 

Your core responsibilities will include: 

• Formulating, developing and maintaining an integrated procurement strategy for the NCIs, identifying key areas of opportunity and risk and working with relevant stakeholders to achieve value for money and savings targets
• Identifying and developing strategic supplier relationships that support the delivery of NCI objectives and are in sympathy with the ethos of the Church of England
• Ensuring procurement policies and practices promote compliance with relevant regulations including anti-fraud/bribery/corruption legislation and other applicable laws
• Identifying ways to continuously improve processes and drive efficiency savings throughout the procurement cycle
• Leading the tender process for awarding high value/high risk contracts, ensuring business requirements are understood and delivered, and that competitive, best practice processes are followed and documented
• Building procurement capability across the NCIs through undertaking relevant training and awareness activities with staff in order to promote a best practice procurement approach, ensuring appropriate guidance and materials are available on the NCI intranet site to resource and inform staff

About you

Hope Health Action is a Christian NGO with the mission of empowering local communities to provide life-saving health and disability care for the world’s most vulnerable. We work in Haiti, South Sudan and Uganda, providing sustainable, long-term solutions to the stark health and disability inequalities that exist in these communities.

Haiti was where we first began our work, founding a hospital, which went on to become a 100 bed facility that treated over 35,000 patients every year. Our programmes also include a Wheelchair Distribution Centre, a respite home for children with disabilities, a spinal cord injury rehabilitation centre, and large-scale community health initiatives. We are now one of the leading healthcare providers in northern Haiti, with a national reputation and a wide network of local and international partners. 

Historically, most of our funding has come from UK and European trusts and foundations, and while we are keen to maintain and build on this, we are also keen to maximise the opportunities available to us as a US 501(c)(3) charity and expand our portfolio of US funders. We seek a skilled grant writer to help us navigate and access these opportunities, ensuring our projects receive the support needed to continue transforming lives. About the Role

About the role:

As Director of Services, you will be responsible for a wide range of services including Hospital services (A&E support, discharge and falls prevention), community services (activity groups, befriending, clubs), information and advice services (including benefits, housing, carers and statutory advocacy).

You will be responsible for ensuring all contracts and grants deliver to targets and provide services of the highest possible quality standards with demonstrable impact measures and feedback systems.

Your key responsibilities will include:

• Provide strategic leadership, direction and development of all Age UK HHB Services, contributing to organisational strategy and the annual business planning process.
• To work with the leadership team to identify and resource development opportunities, and to ensure our activity is providing optimum impact to improve the lives of older people in the borough
• Line Manage and develop Head of Services, Service Managers and other staff as appropriate, including setting targets and monitoring performance by ensuring that regular supervisions and appraisals are carried out, and tackling any performance issues in line with policies and procedures.
• Ensure Age UK HHB staff and volunteers are provided with up-to-date information sources, including any changes in national and local policy. To ensure services achieve external and internal quality frameworks and best practice guidance and to drive efficient working practices.
• Develop and oversee systems for feedback from service users to ensure the work, ethos and culture of Age UK HHB are informed by older people.
• To ensure quality data is captured for all service delivery allowing us to measure reach and impact for effective performance management, overseeing the provision of monitoring reports and dashboards for funders and board
• To work with the CEO, Managers and Trustees to develop annual budgets and to ensure services and projects are delivered to budget.
• Work closely with external partners and commissioning/funding agencies to ensure that Age UK HHB delivers the range of services that are required and/or contracted, on time and on budget.

About you:

To be successful in the role you will need to be able to operate effectively in challenging times and a constantly changing working environment. Experience in successful leadership, managing people, organisational change and improving business processes to support the charity’s strategy will be essential to this role.

Essential skills and experience include:

• Educated to Degree level or equivalent, or substantial successful senior management experience.
• Proven experience as an inspirational and successful leader of teams of staff and volunteers.
• Substantial experience in effective management of time, tasks and projects.
• Demonstrable experience of working within and/or influencing change in health and social care services.
• Experience in designing, planning, leading and mobilising new or remodelled services from concept through to business as usual.

Vision for the role

Migrant Democracy Project (MDP) envisions a society where all migrants at home in the UK hold collective, political power to shape a society rooted in justice, freedom, and solidarity. 

We are looking for a full-time Community Organiser to organise first-generation migrants in the UK towards migrant justice through electoral and community organising. The organiser’s work will connect across 3 streams: voter registration; advocacy & campaigns; and political empowerment. 

Whether it’s engaging migrants at a voter registration stall, supporting migrant communities to organise in the electoral space, or strengthening a local campaign - the lived experience of first generation migrants is at the heart of all our activities.

We are looking for an experienced organiser who is passionate about migrants’ rights and democratic reform to start working as soon as possible.

Who funds the role?

The role is funded by a grant from the Esmee Fairbairn Foundation.

Contract

This is a fixed term contract, 2 years (with the possibility of extension depending on future grants), £32,000 pro rata, with an immediate start, including NI and 3% employer pension contribution.

We are looking for an organiser who can work full-time hours flexibly, including evening and weekend time where events require. When work is carried out by any Migrant Democracy Project employee outside normal working hours, time off in lieu is applied.

Location

Migrant Democracy Project does not have a physical office. The Organiser will work flexibly from home on administrative tasks and be expected to work in-person when necessary to deliver voter registration, training, informative, advocacy and campaign activities, as well as representing MDP at relevant events.

Responsibilities

• Build and implement an organising strategy for MDP in collaboration with members of our community.

• Identify and lead on outreach activities and events with first-generation migrant communities where there is scope for building power in their local areas.

• Identify, train, and support community leaders to participate and shape MDP’s Our Home Our Vote campaign for the extension of the right to vote.

• Support the delivery of our MPower - Community Organising Programme training and empowering migrant communities to best achieve their campaign aims by engaging in UK democracy and politics.

• Support the electoral prospects of MDP leaders and the organising scope in their communities.

• Manage a stakeholder network including local and national migrants’ rights groups and keeping a contact database.

• Lead on the co-production and dissemination of physical and digital materials on democratic rights and participation, such as production of leaflets and infographics in different languages and with different purposes. 

• Collect and produce content for social media following activities delivered with the community. 

• Keep track of engagement and contribute reports for our projects’ evaluation.

Qualifications

We are looking for a proactive and confident organiser with the following essential skills:​

• Good people skills and ability to manage the needs, priorities and differences of a diverse range of communities.

• Excellent knowledge of the UK political system, in particular of voter eligibility and the roles and responsibilities of elected representatives.

• Natural problem-solver who is able to work both independently and collaboratively in a startup environment.

• Excellent and motivating verbal and written communication skills. You will be expected to speak in public, engage migrants on voting rights, communicate political and electoral topics engagingly and succinctly. 

• Knowledge of the UK immigration system and experience working with migrant communities, including campaign or support groups.

• Experience organising in the political space, such as conducting voter registration drives, supporting political candidates, turning people out to vote, informing politicians at election times.

• Excellent administrative and planning skills, including dealing with last-minute changes to events.

• Experience producing and posting content using a range of social media platforms, including X, Facebook, Instagram and TikTok.

• Experience delivering or facilitating training and/or informative sessions.

• Good data skills, including for evaluation and monitoring purposes.

Action for Pulmonary Fibrosis (APF) is the UK’s leading health and research charity for pulmonary fibrosis. We are seeking an organised, driven individual with excellent written communication skills to help us grow income from grant making trusts and foundations. This role will raise vital income that will help us support more people affected by pulmonary fibrosis, and fund ground breaking new research that we hope will help stop lives being lost to pulmonary fibrosis.

APF supports people affected by pulmonary fibrosis - a cruel and terminal lung scarring disease that cuts thousands of lives short in the UK each year. There’s no known cure, and it’s on the rise. As Trusts & Grants Coordinator, you will produce inspiring funding applications and reports, and develop relationships with new and existing funders. As well as building on our pipeline of grant making trusts, you will also support the development of income from statutory bodies such as local authorities.

We are looking for someone with excellent attention to detail, and who is able to write impact-driven funding proposals and reports to inspire sustainable funding. You don’t need to have direct experience of coordinating income from trusts and grants, but you will need to be able to demonstrate transferable skills and experience of working within the charitable sector is highly desirable.

Teddington Methodist Circuit are seeking a  families and community layworker who can both work effectively with church groups, as well as offer a confident outward-looking approach to working with local communities, especially where there is a high level of social need.

The principal role will be to support the five circuit churches in delivering a range of projects designed to promote more active participation by children and their families in church life.

Building on an existing foundation of well-established groups, but with the scope to plan fresh initiatives in response to identified need, the postholder will be expected to provide direct leadership and support to volunteers who help deliver these services.

We are seeking a candidate who can bring experience of delivering successful children and families groups and projects within a church context, and applying it to support the circuit in achieving its mission of engagement, participation and growing in faith.  Experience of working collaboratively with ecumenical partners would be desirable.
