We are working with a prestigious heath charity. They are looking to recruit a HR Advisor. This is initially a 12-month fixed term contact position working 35 hours per week
 
They offer a flexible working approach with 3 days per week on site in their Sutton office with the remainder of the week working remotely.  
 
£39,000 - £43,000 per annum
 
Role
 
You will be providing HR advice on operational services across the employee lifecycle, in line with HR policies and procedures.
 
Key Responsibilities
 

• To provide expert advice to line managers and staff on the application of policy and procedures and Employee Relations matters.
• To support line managers with a range of complex Employee Relations case management
• Look to develop, review and implement HR policies, procedures, guidance documents and templates while ensuring legal compliance and best practice.
• Provide information and give guidance on new and updated policies to line managers and staff
• To advise line managers on a range of change management issues, including non-renewal of fixed-term contract procedures, restructures, redeployment / redundancy procedures and TUPE transfers
• To assist the HR Business Partner with the delivery of HR related training, including managing your people series, probation and induction training,
• Liaise with the training team on any outcomes of ER cases
• To manage the performance of the Assistant HR Adviser and HR Administrator throughout the year via regular meetings and the annual appraisal process

About the role

The Media, PR & Digital Manager leads and supports the delivery of flexible, cost-effective and class-leading media, marketing, and digital communications. This role ensures MSSC achieves its objectives across campaigns, fundraising and policy through targeted and effective profile building in the media and across multiple online platforms.

The post holder will manage media communications activities, delivered in-house or outsourced as appropriate, to meet the needs of MSSC while maintaining the charity’s image, values and stakeholder engagement.

Responsibilities

Media & Public Relations

• Proactively explore national and regional opportunities for media coverage, establishing effective media links to raise the profile of the organisation.
• Lead and coordinate integrated media campaigns alongside digital marketing efforts for maximum impact and coverage.
• Support communication with MSSC’s internal and external stakeholders on sensitive media matters.

Marketing & Digital Communications

• Manage and coordinate the use of digital channels, including intranets, websites and social media.
• Lead the development and support of the DAMS (Marketing Hub) to facilitate effective brand and campaign management.
• Contribute to the production of high-quality, on-brand marketing materials, ensuring they meet deadlines and engage target audiences.
• Assist with website development and paid digital marketing campaigns.
• Develop and maintain MSSC’s social media channels and other digital communication platforms.

Requirements

• Degree graduate or equivalent and experience in a communications environment.
• Experience in a similar role.
• Experience in developing and maintaining good working relations with journalists and media specialists.
• Excellent written and verbal skills with good attention to detail.
• Understanding of principles of media, PR, social media and communications.

Responsibilities

• To support the Head of Seafarer Learning and Welfare in the effective administration and development of Marine Society training and mentoring programmes.
• To act as first line contact for all internal and external enquiries and to respond to these in a timely manner.
• To receive and process seafarer bursary applications and forward to the Head of Seafarer Learning and Welfare for assessment and approval.
• To accurately track and monitor beneficiaries of the Coming Ashore programme and to provide administrative support to programme mentors.
• To take minutes for team meetings and maintain records and files
• To work with the Digital Marketing Coordinator in the administration and promotion of all Marine Society services through social media and press publications
• To maintain the use of Google Classroom as a communication hub for programme users and bursary recipients and to track their progress and outcomes.
• To input data that will support the production of reports by the Head of Seafarer Learning and Welfare to funders and stakeholders as required.
• To assist the Apprenticeship Delivery Manager in all aspects of administering the apprentice and adult skills programmes.

• Good general level of formal education (including English and mathematics GCSE Grade 4/C or above)

SIGNPOSTING AND FOODBANK SESSION COORDINATOR

Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank (part of Oasis Hub Waterloo)

FULL-TIME or PART-TIME: 32-40 HOURS PER WEEK

We have an exciting opportunity for a Signposting and Collection Session Coordinator as part of our Foodbank team. This new role will provide dedicated 1-2-1 support to people accessing the Foodbank, delivering Foodbank collection sessions and developing our remote and in-person signposting and support for those accessing the Foodbank. This is a fast-faced, person-centered role, having a direct impact on the lives of local people experiencing hardship

Key responsibilities of this role will be:

• Providing operational support to Foodbank collection centres in host venues across Lambeth and Croydon
• Providing and developing wraparound support to those accessing the Foodbank
• Delivering and developing in-person and remote signposting
• Working with volunteers, partner organisations and host venues to provide effective and efficient support through collection sessions and beyond

The successful post holder must have:

• Proven experience of working or volunteering within a not-for-profit organisation/other food bank
• Experience working with people with multiple and complex needs
• Excellent communication skills

This new role will lead on individual giving and events fundraising for Oasis Hub Waterloo with a focus on securing funds for Lambeth & Croydon Foodbank and our associated advice services. Brain tumours kill more children and adults under the age of 40 than any other cancer, yet historically just 1% of the national spend on cancer research has been allocated to this devastating disease. Brain Tumour Research is determined to change this. 

Their vision is to find a cure for all types of brain tumours. To achieve their mission, they are looking for a Community Fundraiser who will proactively engage with supporters, community groups and volunteers across the West Midlands to join their team of 12 Community Fundraisers across the UK.

The Community Fundraiser (West Midlands) is responsible for providing support and guidance to fundraisers within their communities to achieve their ambitions and ultimately raise vital funds for Brain Tumour Research. This is achieved through a wide variety of activities such as helping supporters to make the most of their own fundraising, engaging participants with externally organised events such as the Great Birmingham Run, and encouraging communities to get involved in events organised by Brain Tumour Research such as Wear a Hat Day and Walk for Hope. The Community Fundraiser will be the face of Brain Tumour Research in the area, providing excellent stewardship to existing supporters, and building great relationships with new supporters.

This post has been vacant since Autumn, and as such needs a fundraiser with confidence and capability in fundraising to join the team, provide donor love to the loyal supporters in the area, and approach developing the areas potential with energy and enthusiasm. If you have fundraising experience and are keen to join a charity with ambition and an amazing supporter base, then this could be the role for you.
