The Wellbeing Matters programme is a Voluntary, Community and Social Enterprise (VCSE) led initiative delivered by Salford CVS in partnership with five VCSE anchor organisations. The Programme focuses on Person and Community Centred Approaches to improving the wellbeing of Salford people that are commissioned by NHS Greater Manchester, Salford’s five Primary Care Networks, and Salford Integrated Commissioning.

Wellbeing Matters Programme has two core elements, firstly community connecting / social prescribing. This connects people referred through health professionals with a non-medical need to local community assets to support an individual’s wellbeing, independence, and reduce social isolation. The programme aims to support people feel more connected to their communities, providing confidence, and social interaction connections, linking individuals to local activities and services. The main aim is to support individuals become prepared on how to manage their own health and wellbeing.

The second core element of the Wellbeing Matters programme supports the development and maintenance of the VCSE ecosystem that supports social prescribing through volunteering, voluntary action, community activities, investment and assuring quality of groups and activities. This element of Wellbeing Matters includes a team of Development Workers whose role is to develop the capacity of local VCSE groups and activities that ensures a healthy voluntary, community and social enterprise eco-system to socially prescribe into.

We are seeking a dynamic, inspiring, caring and trusted individual to make Holocaust Centre North and our projects more inclusive, imaginative and accessible. The Head of Communities will lead our new flagship initiative ‘The Rudi Project’. The programme will support our vision of Holocaust Centre North as a bold and pioneering space to reflect on ‘a global history through local stories’ from the North of England and foster a culture of care. 

Holocaust Centre North

Holocaust Centre North promotes education on the Holocaust and post-Holocaust issues to raise awareness of human rights, freedom, and equality. We do so by telling a global history through local stories, specifically those of survivors and refugees who rebuilt their lives in the North of England.

Our work spans archives and collections, learning, artistic research, exhibitions, and survivor welfare. Through these areas, we aim to foster a culture of care and raise awareness about the relevance of Holocaust history today.

We collaborate closely with refugees of Nazi persecution, their families and carers, local communities, artistic practitioners, researchers, and schools to create spaces for nuanced dialogue about the ongoing relevance of the Holocaust. We strive to create opportunities for reflection on the role this dark chapter of our shared history plays in the present, using contemporary critical frameworks to engage audiences with Holocaust history.

We are now seeking to expand our current work to reach communities that had previously been excluded, underrepresented, and/or marginalised in our work, also involving them in the museum itself. We are looking for an individual with experience in community engagement and development, particularly through the lens of archive practice and artistic responses to heritage collections.

The Rudi Project

Funded by the Heritage Lottery Fund, The Rudi Project aims to develop strong partnerships with local communities that we don’t yet engage with, involving them as central participants within the fabric of our work. Through a programme of workshops, events, publications and artist residencies, we will use co-production to pose critical questions: how do we engender reflections on the Holocaust's legacies in communities that feel alienated from this history? How do we work with local communities that may feel divided due to the repercussions of current international conflict? How can we commemorate the Holocaust whilst also acknowledging participants’ silent testimonies and inherent experiences in an ever-shifting present?

This initiative represents the legacy of a recent rebrand process, which delivered a re-imagined Holocaust Centre North with a unique mandate to articulate 'a global history through local stories' and to foster 'a culture of care' when engaging with stories of trauma. Building on these foundations, The Rudi Project will enable communities to guide us in the design of sustainable and long-term practices to connect with people, especially those who also live their lives after trauma, loss, discrimination, persecution and isolation. In the process, the project will further enhance our resilience and sustainability by extending the reach of existing investment, and resources and bringing more voices around our table. 

Job Description

To work closely with the Director to support the delivery of the organisational strategy through community engagement. This will include:

• Develop a methodology for socially engaged practice and community co-production for Holocaust Centre North
• Design and deliver meaningful community consultation.
• Contribute to the development of an audience development plan for reaching diverse audience goals both through existing programmes and new initiatives.
• Support and advise colleagues in all departments to remove barriers to access and ensure Holocaust Centre North is welcoming for all.
• Build networks with charities, grassroot groups, community groups, educational partners, cultural partners and the healthcare sector.
• To line-manage members of the Holocaust Centre North team
• To contribute actively to monitor and evaluate Holocaust Centre North’s impact, particularly in relation to community engagement.

To plan and deliver events and activities with communities as part of our new flagship programme ‘The Rudi Project:’

• Design and deliver pilot activities to engage communities with our existing initiatives across commemoration, artistic responses to collections and archives.
• Maintain a calendar of outreach activities, including community events, workshops, appearances and other communication opportunities.  

To manage Holocaust Centre North’s Volunteer Programme

• To widen the reach of our volunteer recruitment and develop meaningful roles for volunteers across the organisation.  
• To manage volunteers. 
• To evaluate the volunteer programme and report to the Director and/or the Board of Trustees on community development/the project.

Person specification

Experience

• 5 years of demonstrable experience of running creative community engagement schemes that deliver long-term impact.
• Evidence of awareness of innovative approaches to community engagement either with the cultural sector or other sectors.
• A proven track record of running meaningful consultations with a variety of communities.
• Experience of writing funding bids for community engagement/development projects or of collaborating with development teams to apply for funding.
• Experience of community development through the lens of archive practice, commemoration and/or contemporary art (desirable).

ROLE SUMMARY

ProVeg International is a growing network of currently eleven independent legal entities represented in twelve countries across four continents (Belgium, China, Czech Republic, Germany, Malaysia, Netherlands, Nigeria, Poland, South Africa, Spain, UK, and US). 

We are seeking an experienced and committed International Senior Legal Coordinator to oversee international legal aspects of ProVeg and coordinate our governance & legal structure, trademark portfolio, the international legal affairs and data protection topics. They will be a strategic thinker who can make the best decisions in line with our organisation’s vision, mission, and values. The goal is to guide ProVeg International as a whole towards compliance and efficiency, stability, growth and long-term success.

RESPONSIBILITIES

Governance & Legal Structure Coordination

• Support our internationalisation efforts and the set-up / registration of new country entities 

• Conclude & maintain necessary agreements (collaboration agreements, service agreements, contracts, and data protection agreements) between ProVeg International Inc. (US) and new and existing ProVeg legal entities, and liaise with external lawyers for advice

Trademark Coordination

• Manage, oversee and expand the trademark portfolio of ProVeg International Inc. 

• Coordinate infringements actions with a trademark law firm 

• Support the development of a trademark strategy

• Liaise/ manage contact with a trademark law firm 

International Legal Affairs Coordination

• Check and arrange international and national contracts and agreements for ProVeg C.I.C (UK) and ProVeg International Inc. (US) and liaise with external lawyers for advice

• Ensure organisational compliance and assess legal risks. Advise the Senior Leadership Team on mitigation

• Support ProVeg countries (provide templates for contracts etc. or general advice where possible)

Data Protection Coordination

• Act as internal data protection expert (GDPR etc.) and work with colleagues (e.g. Communications, Fundraising, Operations) on compliance and data protection implementation

• Manage, update, maintain and ensure compliance with GDPR and other international Data Protection Regulations 

• Ensure and monitor compliance with Data Protection Regulation for ProVeg’s International Departments and support countries with compliance with national Data Protection laws 

• Raise awareness of data protection compliance among staff and support data protection training

• Liaise with internal Data Protection Coordinator (Germany) and external Data Protection Officer

QUALIFICATIONS

Required:

• Bachelor’s degree in law or a related field required; graduate degree preferred

• Broad legal knowledge, particularly regarding data protection, contracts, governance, business law, and related regulations. Knowledge around employment law, Trademark, and other areas strongly preferred.

• Proven experience with a minimum of two to three years of working in a legal support role, ideally in the non-profit sector

• Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail

• Collaborative attitude, solution-focused, and supportive of international colleagues (particularly Country Directors, Heads and International Senior Leadership and Operations team)

• IT skills, including Google Docs, with advanced proficiency in Google Sheets

• Self-starter personality with the ability to work independently and with limited supervision

• Excellent communication skills in English; additional language skills preferred

• Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, international, rapidly growing nonprofit work environment

ACT is an established charity paying grants to actors to bring stability and opportunity to their children.

None of ACT’s main fund is endowed so the Trustees must ensure new income to maintain reasonable reserves. In recent years ACT has received fewer legacies and donations from individuals, but we have been able to draw down from capital to supplement income. However, with the current low growth in investments, ACT must now diversity our income streams to support existing services.

Fundraising brief

We believe grant-making Trusts and Foundations are a significant source of potential income. The Trustees are seeking an experienced freelance trust fundraiser to raise an initial minimum target of £70,000 to support our ongoing children’s activity grants and projects.

· Fee: £350 - £450 per day (dependent on experience)

· Timescale for work: Sept 2024 - 31st March 2025

The freelance fundraiser will identify parcels of work and potential funders. You will write bids and lead on the process, acting on the charity’s behalf as the main point of contact. You will report to Jane Foy, an ACT Trustee who is herself a professional fundraiser. Data will be provided by ACT’s head of family support and executive director.

ACT’s supports a niche group of beneficiaries. Our work is not project-based but may be parcelled into clusters of specific impact. This role is therefore likely to appeal to a fundraiser with experience in making a compelling case for a charity that is harder to fund.

Who we are looking for

A self-motivated and an effective freelance fundraiser with a strong track record of securing grant funding for a national organisation. Well-developed relationships with grant makers and knowledge of specialist funds. Excellent research and writing skills with ability to develop outcomes in line with funder’s expectations.

Deliverables

Delivering a case for support, for different areas of ACT’s work (see below).

A range of applications made on behalf of ACT between September 2024 and March 2025 to generate minimum £70,000.

Daily agreed rate will be inclusive of all expenses. There is option for a desk space at our office in Bloomsbury or flexible work from home.

As Campaigns and Communications Manager you will be responsible for the strategic development and operational delivery of all PINF campaigns and communications. Acting as a key ambassador for PINF, you will support the Executive Director to develop and maintain relationships with a range of stakeholders and to increase the profile of PINF and the indie news sector in the UK. You will work alongside the Executive Director and other staff to contribute to PINF's overall strategy and operational plan, and help to translate these into innovative campaigns and clear and compelling communications which support our overall vision.

You will have the following skills and attributes: 

• Advocacy. You should be able to develop and deliver an effective campaign, drawing on your excellent knowledge and understanding of the UK’s political framework to build effective working relationships with Ministers, MPs and Peers, members of the devolved administrations, civil servants and regulators. 

• Communications. You should be able to use your outstanding written and verbal communication skills, including copy-writing and public speaking, to draft and deliver compelling content including speeches, consultation responses, blog posts and comment pieces. 

• Media. You should be able to engage effectively with print, digital and broadcast journalists, and manage PINF’s social media channels. 

• Policy. You should be able to distil complex policy issues into clear and compelling positions by drawing on internal and external research. You do not have to be a sector specialist when you start the role, (though you should be able to build your knowledge and understanding rapidly) but you  will have a track record of the design and delivery of campaigns which create awareness, engage the wider public and/or strive to change policy.

• Partnerships. You should be able to build a coalition of organisations and individuals, drawing on your skill for effective working relationships and your instinct for collaboration to engage and empower people from all backgrounds and experiences. 

• Management. You should have experience of managing campaigns and projects. Experience of managing organisers or other staff would be a bonus.

• Strategy. You should have experience of developing strategy, such as a Strategic Communications Plan and/or working collaboratively to shape and inform organisational strategy and operational plans.

• Administration. You should be able to stay on top of your workload by using relevant software (including Microsoft Office, e-campaigning tools and content management systems), keeping accurate and up-to-date records, and prioritising between competing tasks.

About the Role

The Head of US Death Penalty Projects is responsible for overseeing Reprieve’s work against the death penalty in the United States of America.

 Background to Reprieve’s work against the death penalty in the US

 Reprieve has worked against the death penalty since our founding. In recent years we have built a particular specialism in issues relating to lethal injection, the most popular execution method in the US. Lethal injection has been touted as a more humane than other methods – a modern, clean, clinical way to execute. This couldn’t be further from the truth. Lethal injection executions go wrong more often than any other execution method, often resulting in prolonged and torturous executions, commonly known as “botched” executions. Through our work we aim to dispel the myth of the humane execution, working with allies across medicine, business and other sectors to end the misuse of medicines and medical technology in executions.

The existing portfolio of work includes litigation, investigation and analysis, corporate engagement, a wide range of public and private advocacy, and developing and maintaining world-leading expertise on execution methods, particularly the jurisprudence and science relevant to lethal injection.

About You

You will be responsible for developing and implementing strategies in which each of Reprieve’s methodologies—investigation, litigation, casework political and public engagement, support for and (where possible and appropriate) advocacy with affected communities—connect with one another to achieve positive outcomes in the death penalty landscape and address structural rights violations.

Location, contract and salary

The role is a full-time, permanent position with a salary of £59,226 per annum less any required deductions for tax and national insurance. Reprieve works across a number of jurisdictions; as such this is a role that may require work outside of core hours from time to time. Reprieve operates a hybrid working model and we require staff to work a minimum of 40% from the London office and the rest of the week from home.

INTRODUCTION

St George’s Hospital Charity oversees over 220 Special Purpose Funds (SPFs) with a total value of over £4.5m. These funds hold donor-gifted and community-fundraised income, each with a specific purpose to support a particular ward, department, area of research or group of staff or patients. Every SPF has designated Fund Advisers, who are St George’s University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (the Trust) and/or St George’s University staff members with delegated authority to review and authorise expenditure approvals and applications for funding. There are over 500 Fund Advisers who need effective stewardship as significant stakeholders. 

ROLE PURPOSE

To manage the finance function of the charity and provide excellent finance support for the Senior Executive which will include:

• Maintaining a robust financial control framework and providing high quality timely financial management information to ensure effective decision making.
• Preparing annual financial statements and supporting an efficient external audit process.
• Supporting the annual budget setting and quarterly forecasting processes
• Leading on continuous finance process improvement and finance training for SGHC staff. MAIN

DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Staff management

1.1. Carry out all line management duties in line with organisational policy and procedure, including:

• Diversity and inclusion - encouraging an inclusive environment.
• Recruiting and inducting good quality staff
• Proactively addressing performance, conduct or other employee relations issues.
• Support and coach your direct report to ensure objectives and development goals are achieved.

2. Management of Income and Payments Processing Operations

2.1. Responsible for ensuring that all fundraising and investment income is accurately recorded in the finance system.

2.2. Ensure the reconciliation of all income data from the bank against Raiser’s Edge (CRM system) to ensure data is accurate and complete and then recorded in the finance system once reconciled.

2.3. Manage an efficient and effective Accounts Payable function, ensuring that the work performed by the Senior Finance Assistant is at the required standard.

2.4. Lead on all communications with internal stakeholders, including Trust finance and Special Purpose Fund Advisers, to resolve any issues arising and produce monitoring reports on a regular basis.

3. Transactional accounting and fund management

3.1. Ensure systems are in place to identify and correctly record restricted donations, so that these are properly monitored and utilised.

4. Financial Control Framework

4.1. In consultation with the Director of Finance & Operations, ensure that appropriate controls, processes and procedures are in place, regularly reviewed and assessed for operational effectiveness.

4.2. Review and update Finance Procedures and effectively communicate these to staff, arranging training where necessary, within the Finance Department and across the Charity.

4.3. Ensure effective maintenance of the balance sheet, including regular key control account reconciliations (bank and other).

4.4. Monitoring of balances with the Trust, ensuring these are promptly settled, with discrepancies investigated and resolved.

5. Management Reporting

5.1. Delivery of timely and accurate monthly management accounts for the Charity, including enhancing the production process and communication of timetables.

5.2. Co-ordinate the production of narrative reports to support review by the Director of Finance & Operations.

6. Financial reporting and audit

6.1. Lead the Finance team in the production of financial statements which are fully compliant with the Charity SORP to meet required audit and Board approval deadlines.

6.2. Lead the relationship with external auditors and all arrangements surrounding the annual audit fieldwork.

7. Budgeting and Forecasting

7.1. Assist the Director of Finance & Operations in the production of annual budgets, working closely with budget holders within the Charity to ensure completed in accordance with agreed timescales.

7.2. Lead on the quarterly re-forecast process, producing relevant analyses to understand and monitor key changes.

8. Banking and Investments

8.1. Work alongside the Director of Finance & Operations to maintain a strong relationship with the Charity’s banking and investment managers and take the lead on the day to day administration of the banking arrangements.

8.2. Ensure that bank mandates are up to date.

9. Systems and Data

9.1. Finance system

• Liaise with Application’s Supplier and Trust Systems support team in the maintenance and development of the finance system, ensuring essential maintenance are carried out as necessary to prevent cyber fraud and maintain data integrity.
• Provide support to the Finance team for the accounting functionality within the finance accounting application and its integrated systems.

9.2. System maintenance and training

• Support the Director of Finance and Operations with managing user access, permissions and privileges on the finance system, ensuring that any changes to staff are reflected immediately.
• Ensure all new staff are trained on the Finance System and that current staff receive updates as necessary. Any other duties commensurate with the post as requested by the Director of Finance & Operations

Tender is an arts charity working with children and young people to prevent domestic abuse and sexual violence through creative projects. Our programmes are safe, enjoyable, age-appropriate spaces where young people can engage with sensitive topics and “rehearse” for real-life scenarios. Participants are encouraged to be both consumers and producers of learning through script-work, role-play and creative media such as films and art. Throughout, we enable young people to explore their choices, rights and expectations in relationships and to recognise the early warning signs of abuse. 

We have grown rapidly in recent years, and now have an exciting and varied programme of work which is funded from a wide range of sources. We have long-standing, high-value relationships with organisations such as the Mayor’s Office, Esmée Fairbairn and Clifford Chance, and continue to grow our income from a range of supporters from trusts, foundations, corporates, individuals and community fundraisers.

We now have a need for an Officer to work closely with the Development Director and CEO in developing our corporate income stream, building on strong, established corporate partnerships and developing new ones, to generate both earned income and corporate donations. About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join Reprieve’s small, collaborative and dynamic fundraising team to help manage and grow our grants income, with a focus on trusts and foundations, and statutory donors.

Reprieve is fortunate to have the support of many long-standing funders who believe fervently in our mission, and in Reprieve’s ability to drive change. Working with the Head of Development, you will take ownership of relationships, build strong partnerships with donors, and harness opportunities to add value, and deepen our collaborations. You will be responsible for securing new grants, facilitating grant management in line with donor requirements, and leading on the preparation of accurate and compelling reports and communications.

You will also be responsible for prospecting and cultivating new donor relationships, expanding our grants income in a sustainable and considered way.
