About the role 

You'll lead and coordinate our local campaigning work across the Midlands. Your work will help the charity improve the lives of people with Parkinson’s and those who care for them.

About the role:

• This role is home based with travel around Thames Valley when required
• Demonstrate a good command of the English language both verbally and in writing.
• Have a good understanding of Restorative Justice.
• A clear understanding of the criminal justice journey of both Victims and Offenders
• The ability to assess, update and mitigate risk including risk information held by partner agencies
• Effective verbal and written communication skills.
• Understand Safeguarding issues, and the legal responsibilities surrounding these issues
• Maintaining professional boundaries.
• Knowledge and understanding of the requirement for confidentiality and safe working practices, maintaining records in accordance with the Data Protection Act and other legal requirements.

• Experience of managing a complex caseload, to prioritise work and deal with competing demands demonstrating an organised an methodical approach to work
• Experience of delivering training or presenting

• Completion of relevant, accredited RJ training, including serious and complex training
• Have excellent communication, negotiation and advisory skills, both written and verbal when interacting with a range of agencies and individuals

• Demonstrate the ability to use IT applications competently including, Microsoft Word, Excel etc. and Case Management systems in order to keep accurate records and monitoring your performance

Job Title: Experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IOs) for Stage 2 Complaints (This role sits within our Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) service)

Contract: Associate

Hours: Variable, according to demand for services/caseload and role in investigation

Salary: £25.25 per hour (50% professional rate for travel plus expenses)

Location: Associate Independent Investigating Officers for Complaints primarily work from home. Some travel may be required as part of an investigation – location will vary according to the referral received from the Local Authority. Cases will be allocated to Associate IOs living locally to the referring authority, wherever possible.

About the Role

We are seeking additional experienced Associate Independent Investigating Officers (IO) for Complaints, to increase our capacity to respond to referrals from Local Authorities to provide an independent element to the formal Stage 2 investigations under the Children Act 1989.

The IO will lead investigations, and will give the complainant (who may be a child, young person or adult) the opportunity to express their view, ensure the child or young person’s rights and best interests are at the centre of the investigation and that the investigation/review process is open and transparent. They write a report on the investigation/review, which is submitted to the referring agency.

The Job Description document sets out the expectations for an Associate Independent Person for Complaints (IPC) who is approved by Coram Voice. IPCs are independent, freelance and responsible for their own work. Nevertheless, IPCs are accountable to the organisation for their professional standards and are expected to comply with Coram Voice Code of Ethics and Practice Guidelines.

Please Note: the nature of associate work means that we cannot guarantee a regular amount of work, and complaints will be allocated dependent on the associate’s availability, location and the needs and demands of the individual case. We are looking for a part time Information & Advocacy Community Support Worker in Scotland.  You will be home based living in the North of Scotland.

You will work with both statutory and voluntary organisations, clinicians, and health and social care professionals to ensure that people living with muscle wasting conditions get the care and support they need to live well and independently.

Umbrella Cymru has been awarded the contract to deliver support to anyone referred to the Welsh Gender Service and therefore work in partnership with Cardiff and Vale University Health Board to provide a full bio-psycho-social support service to trans and non-binary people in Wales.

We have also been commissioned by the Police and Crime Commissioner for Gwent to deliver a support service to any children and young people affected by any crime or antisocial behaviour in the Gwent area.

• Manage multiple inboxes and correspondence (including responding to written communication and answering phones).
• Produce statical reports from service data.
• Coordinate Volunteer networks.
• Research and provide accurate information as required to colleagues, clients, and professionals.
• Liaise with other service providers to maintain directory of services.
• Record and produce minutes of meetings.
• Provide administrative and secretarial support for projects and corporate services.
• Undertaking other tasks as necessary.

Your key responsibilities will be flexible. You’ll manage your workload and set objectives, priorities and deadlines with the Head of Fundraising. Your work will include: 

• Partnerships Fundraising: You’ll lead and grow our partnerships fundraising portfolio by nurturing existing relationships and identifying new prospective partnerships. You will prepare proposals, pitches, and reports based on key funding needs, and implement stewardship plans to retain support, maximising partnership value. 

• Community Fundraising: You’ll manage community-based fundraising efforts, including coordinating with other organisations. Develop new community fundraising initiatives and engage volunteers, working to maintain an established network of volunteers which support community fundraising activities.

• Events Fundraising: You will manage our fundraising events, including the London Marathon. As Senior Marketing Business Partner your role will be to support the development, delivery and optimisation of the paid marketing strategy across a variety of campaigns at a leading Children’s Charity in the UK. Who you are

A talented operator who has experience in the commercial world of hospitality (catering and licensed), retail experience would be a bonus, either within a Students’ Union or a high street operator.

You will have held roles where you can demonstrate a vast knowledge of operating commercial outlets whilst controlling costs, managing margins, and delivering great operating standards.

Understanding the market is key as you’ll be helping our member students’ unions to interpret current trends and develop them into successful action within member commercial operations. 

Having a good eye for detail and understanding the need for compliance comes easy to you, along with the skill to challenge where non-compliance may be apparent, so you’ll have strong interpersonal and influencing skills and be a good communicator.
