Following the award of a new contract, an exciting opportunity has arisen for an Arrest Referral Worker in our CARS team, which has had, and continues to receive national recognition.

Cranstoun are proud to work with the Warwickshire Police Crime and Commissioners to deliver the Cranstoun Arrest Referral Service, offering drug and alcohol using offenders the opportunity to break the cycle of substance related crime.

Are you currently working as a substance use worker, probation officer, or could you bring transferable skills and experience to our team? Are you a good listener? Can you motivate people to change? Are you comfortable working with vulnerable people? This is a great opportunity to have a positive impact on people’s lives.

You will work between police custody and criminal courts. You will assess, advise and refer offenders, providing them the opportunity to access treatment to address their substance use. Working with courts you will promote the use of Community Sentence Treatment Requirements (Drug Rehabilitations Requirements and Alcohol Treatment Requirements) amongst all court professionals and the judiciary, contributing to Pre Sentence Reports and advocate for our service users.

You will be responsible for delivering all elements of substance use work including assertive engagement, harm reduction support, as well as other associated duties. You need to have an understanding of the issues faced by people who use drugs and alcohol, and who commit crime, and be dedicated to delivering a service that supports these individuals to make positive changes to their behaviour, health and well-being.

All roles within this service are subject to enhanced DBS checks and Police vetting.

Vision Rehabilitation Specialist

We’re looking for a qualified Vision Rehabilitation Specialist (ROVI) to work for an important charity offering a wide variety of services to vision-impaired people across Cheshire, Halton, and North Wales.
 

Position: Vision Rehabilitation Specialist (ROVI)

Location: Home based with regular travel across Wrexham, with the requirement to work from the Council Offices and company offices on occasion

Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week)

Salary: £33,977.84 - £35,246.40 per annum

About the role:

As Vision Rehabilitation Specialist, you will identify, deliver and evaluate professional rehabilitation interventions to vision impaired people to enhance their skills and confidence to maximise their independence.

You will provide a person-centred outcome-focussed approach to rehabilitation; supporting people to identify measurable outcomes, carry out assessments and develop a plan that will support each person to achieve their outcomes and meet their needs, reducing risks and lessening the impact of their VI.

The Vision Rehabilitation Specialist will work collaboratively with other services within the organisation to ensure individuals are receiving support whilst waiting for assessment and rehabilitation.

Key areas of responsibility include:  

• Triage – To carry out an initial conversation, in line with the Social Services and Wellbeing (Wales) Act, to identify further actions, and risk factors, refer and signpost to the organisation’s wider services and other organisations to meet the individuals’ desired outcomes.
• Assessment - To undertake specialist VI assessments with the person to identify their needs and aspirations to promote independent living.
• Plan – To agree a plan with the person about how their needs can be met, through other services, equipment and rehabilitation.
• Rehabilitation and service provision – To implement, evaluate and review rehabilitative services to the vision-impaired person aimed at maximising and maintaining independence, safety, dignity, and choice.  Rehabilitation may include, but not be restricted to:
  • Daily Living Skills – to include the teaching of new skills or adapted practice for all aspects of daily living, home management, employment and leisure.

• Communication Skills – to include all forms of access to communication including but not limited to print, Braille, Moon, audio description, ICT, telephones, Deafblind manual and block alphabet.

• Mobility training – To develop planned programmes of training to develop independence in indoor and outdoor mobility environments, including training in guiding skills, pre-cane, long cane, orientation (including specialist equipment) and route planning techniques. 

• Low vision - To provide training/therapy in coordination with local NHS low vision services that help individuals make the best use of functional vision.

• Risk –To identify, assess and mitigate risk throughout the rehabilitation provision.

• To work with vision-impaired people who have additional complex needs.
• To assess and recommend minor works of adaptation and liaise with all relevant parties in line with appropriate budgets and policies.
• To provide statistical information to feed into quarterly contract monitoring reports.
• To enable the Local Authority to maintain their Partially Sighted/Sight Impaired and Blind/Severely Sight Impaired Registers.

Key skills required for this role:

• Foundation Degree in Rehabilitation Studies (Visual Impairment) or equivalent.
• Ability to develop clear plans and communicate these to service users and other staff.
• Recognised rehabilitation work qualification (or currently working towards it)
• Proven experience in performing rehabilitation assessments with visually impaired people and providing mobility, communication and daily living skills training.
• Working knowledge of good practice relating to safeguarding.
• Ability to deliver training/advice sessions to individuals or groups of service users, carers and other organisations.
• Knowledge of Health and Safety legislation, including lone worker policies.
• Ability to travel and work in all areas of Flintshire and Wrexham.
• Strong personal organisation/time management.
• Proven track record of maintaining and updating personal records for clients.
• Ability to record service management statistics.
• Be calm and deal sensitively with people and be open-minded to all cultures and ways of life.
• Work on own initiative, whilst exercising discretion and confidentiality.
• Be a team player.
• Be willing to work flexibly (outlook, work hours, work location).
• Able to implement programmes in partnership with other agencies.

About the organisation:

The employer is a well-established organisation with a strong history of promoting independence and support to people with vision impairments (VI). Offering a wide variety of services for vision-impaired people across Cheshire, Halton and North Wales, including counselling, digital skills, financial wellbeing and benefits advice, home visiting, community outreach, and peer support. These services complement rehabilitation to create a wraparound service for our clients. 

The organisation delivers the vision rehabilitation contracts to four local authorities across Northeast Wales. The team are managed and led by qualified and experienced Vision Rehabilitation Specialists (VRS), ensuring the best support from people who understand the role. You would be a part of a wider team of VRSs, meeting regularly to share learning and to give and receive support.

The employer understands the importance for all their staff to receive additional training as needed and support from the wider sector, so RWPN registration and membership fees are covered for the VRS team by the organisation. The role of Director of Engagement will develop and execute the fundraising strategy, growing the charity’s philanthropic (trusts and foundations, corporates and major donors) and public fundraising activities, and develop effective partnerships.  The role will also grow multi-purpose partnerships, and lead on all aspects of marketing, developing and expanding the Independent Age brand proposition, targeting key audiences and beneficiaries. The position reports to the Chief Executive and as part of the Senior Leadership Team, will play a key role in developing and executing an overall strategy to ensure delivery of the charity’s mission efficiently and effectively, with a strong focus upon increasing impact and reach.

You will need to have significant experience of developing effective fundraising strategies with a proven track record of high-value fundraising, including individual giving and securing donations from major trusts, foundations, high-net-worth individuals and businesses. You will also have experience of identifying, winning and implementing impactful corporate partnerships beyond fundraising, as well as of leading and motivating brand and marketing, and partnerships and philanthropy teams. Demonstrable experience of building and developing brands will be key, as well as experience of operating effectively at a senior level, ideally as part of a Senior Leadership Team. Finally, you must have a passion for, and affinity with, the charity’s cause.

In this role you will work across two services, our Newcastle Supported Housing and Personal Budget Service.

Working for our Newcastle Support Housing service you will support individuals aged 18 and upwards who have a mental health diagnosis to move into one of our tenancies helping them to ensure the transition is as smooth as possible, you will then meet with them each week to support them both emotionally and practically to develop life skills which enable them to sustain their tenancy and eventually move on to independent living.

This can include a number of tasks such as money management, managing bills, reporting repairs and supporting them to keep on top of the cleanliness of their property. You will support them with all aspects of the move on process. You will then support the team to get the property ready for our next move in. The individuals that we support though our housing service have multiple and complex needs, this can include a struggle with addiction or an offending history as well as other support needs.

In our Personal Budget Service you will support individuals aged 18 and upwards with a mental health diagnosis who have block hours of support and whose mental ill health is causing them concern and/or affecting their lives in various way. You will meet these individuals either in their own homes and out in the community and provide tailored support around areas that they currently struggle with to help them achieve their goals. The individuals that we support through this service live across Tyne, Wear and Northumberland.

We know that recovery can look and feel very different to each and every one of us. But we also know that if we provide the right support, at the right time, we can inspire recovery nationwide and that recovery is possible for everyone. That’s where you come in. Responsible for helping and inspiring the people who use our services to maintain their tenancy and independence in the community, we’ll rely on you to work with them to come up with a personal support plan that will see them achieve their goals and aspirations. We are seeking an experienced and dynamic individual to join the BFYC team to support young carers in West Oxfordshire.

Working closely with the youth work team, you will help to provide support and advice to young carers by devising, developing, implementing and managing a programme of social activities for young carers (this could include trips, training, emotional 121 support and other activities).

Job Description - Key Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one support for Young Carers, liaising with other agencies to help ensure the best outcomes for Young Carers;
• Establish relationships with schools across West Oxfordshire offering them support in how they identify and respond to the needs of young carers in their classrooms.
• Assist schools in launching Young Carers Groups and introducing Young Carer Leads in their settings.
• Contribute towards awareness raising events and activities to increase the identification and support of Young Carers, including liaison with Schools and community group;
• Liaise and work with colleagues to empower Young Carers and their families;
• Play a role in the assessment of Young Carers as part of the Common Assessment Framework (CAF), Team around the Child (TAC), Young Carers assessments, and assessments carried out by other professionals;
• Develop the active participation of Young Carers, enabling their voice to be heard;
• Support Young Carers and their families to access appropriate support services;
• Record all casework contact information and ensure that all appropriate consent forms, assessments, Baseline Forms, and other required information and administration is completed and recorded for all Young Carers;
• Ensure all tasks, procedures, and practices comply with Be Free Young Carers’ policies, including safeguarding and child protection, health and safety, confidentiality and equal opportunities;
• Assist in the production of newsletters and other communications to Young Carers and their families;

This is an exciting time for Tender, with both the demand for and reach of our work expanding significantly in recent years. Having set up our Adult Services department in 2019, we have seen both the breadth and depth of our work with adults expand significantly. Following a recent organisational restructure and the development of a three-year strategy which we are implementing in 2023 – 2026, we are anticipating further growth in our adult training work.

We are therefore looking to expand our Adult Services team, with a Projects Coordinator to support the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to coordinate the delivery of a range of adult training projects to a varied group of beneficiaries. You will play a key role in ensuring that the projects are planned and delivered smoothly, communicating regularly with settings and the facilitators delivering the training, and ensuring projects are properly recorded, monitored, and evaluated. You will be part of a direct team of five in Adult Services, and a wider team of dedicated, supportive people with a shared commitment to preventing domestic abuse and sexual violence.

Role Purpose

The main purposes of the Projects Coordinator role are:

• Coordinating the administration of all aspects of the Tender’s training programmes for adults across the organisation
• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with Tender’s internal and external stakeholders, including colleagues, workshop leaders, teachers/carers, delivery partners and other service professionals
• Monitoring and evaluating the impact of Tender’s training sessions

Main Responsibilities and Duties

Project delivery

• Developing and coordinating the delivery of training projects for adults across all settings, including digital projects, to ensure successful delivery of projects
• Coordinating development days and developing resources and content with the Head of Adult Services, in order to grow and tailor the content for sessions with adults
• Collaborating with the Children and Young People’s (CYP) Services department to coordinate the delivery of training projects for adults in CYP settings
• Monitoring the progress of projects to ensure projects are delivered to plan and on time
• Coordinating the evaluation of projects delivered to adults to ensure learnings from projects are assessed and shared
• Working with the Tender team to ensure effective and efficient use of time and resource during delivery
• Working with the Communications Coordinator to create publicity for projects in a range of formats, including website content, newsletters, information sheets and social media posts

Relationships

• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with settings to facilitate the delivery and success of adult training projects
• Supporting the Head of Adult Services and Service Delivery Lead (Adult Services) to manage relationships with other stakeholders involved in the delivery of projects, including workshop leaders, youth leaders, partner organisations, and professional specialists, to ensure stakeholders remain engaged in and committed to the projects’ success
• Working with colleagues to manage information flows and communication to ensure knowledge of and learnings from projects are known and understood across Tender

Administration

• Completing all mandatory training, and proactively seek opportunities for ongoing professional development
• Logging, tracking and updating project management documentation (including project booking, securing contracts, carrying out risk assessments) to facilitate transparency of decision-making and accuracy of reporting
• Following monitoring and evaluation procedures to ensure the results of projects are recorded accurately and in a timely manner using specified systems, including Salesforce and SharePoint
• Participating in training and other learning activities to develop relevant professional skills and knowledge
• Undertaking any other reasonable duties commensurate with the grade and competencies required of the post requested by the line management

We are recruiting for a Children’s Support Worker who will be working closely with children and their mothers who are living in our refuges escaping domestic violence and other forms of violence and abuse, to provide personal welfare support and ensure that our clients are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment.

A key requirement is to provide personal one to one and group support to children and young people to ensure they are provided with a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. The post holder will support children who have witnessed or experienced domestic violence and plan and provide stimulating, safe, and appropriate activities.

We are currently seeking two dynamic Practitioners to join our Young People’s service (Yuva), working directly with young people using abuse and violence and their families.

Domestic Violence Intervention Project (DVIP), a division of Richmond Fellowship since 2018, has been a leading provider of Respect accredited community perpetrator programmes working to stop domestic violence, increase safety for women and children, and reduce harm to families for over 29 years.

This role works within the Yuva team to develop and deliver intervention and safety programmes to families affected by Child to Parent Violence and Young People’s Intimate Partner Violence. This role requires a robust and detailed understanding and experience of working with adolescent development, domestic abuse, child abuse and trauma, and the impacts of these on young people’s development. As well as a good understanding of the nature of domestic violence and its effects on women and children, and on the parent-child relationship. You will have experience of providing direct work with young people and their parents/carers, working flexibly but robustly and supportively, responding to challenging or harmful behaviour to facilitate change. You will have experience of providing structured one-to-one and/or group-work counselling or behavioural change interventions, and of working with both children and adults from diverse backgrounds. You will have an excellent understanding of Safeguarding procedures and be confident working both independently and as part of a team, working closely and collaboratively alongside partner agencies such as Child Services and Youth Offending Services. Candidates with undergraduate degree level qualifications in relevant fields will be considered, alongside those with extensive experience working in the domestic abuse field with young people.

You will have the opportunity to play a key role in developing DVIP’s young people’s services, working in partnerships with a range of statutory and voluntary agencies to deliver effective community responses to domestic violence, in line with RESPECT practice standards. Day to day, you will be working flexibly across a number of locations (including regular days working co-located within Local Authority Children and Families Services and providing outreach in schools and other relevant or referring services) managing referrals, assessing risk and suitability for therapeutic intervention, and engaging families.

In this rewarding role you will be working directly with young people and their parents/carers, delivering structured interventions to increase safety, as well as providing specialist support to other professionals working with families experiencing abuse, through provision of expert consultations and training.

You will be able to work independently and flexibly, including some early evenings, in areas where DVIP is contracted, for part of the working week. You will be comfortable managing your own workload and related admin, and you will be able to communicate clearly with a range of people about sensitive and complex issues, including the writing of professional reports.

This is a permanent full time role requiring the post-holder to work 37.5 hours a week. The role will require working across Surrey and a driving licence/use of a car are highly recommended.

The IGVA will work closely with victims/survivors of gender-based violence, to provide high quality independent advocacy and support across all risk levels. The job involves working within a multi-agency framework consisting of the MARAC and local partnership protocols and procedures that prioritise the safety of survivors and to improve agencies responses to DA and VAWG.
