LSCft Charitable Fund is the charity linked to the Trust which covers donations for patients, service users, carers and colleague’s wellbeing. 

The post is an important link between the Trust and the local community, facilitating fundraising across corporate and public initiatives, stakeholder and corporate giving and launch our corporate and sponsorship opportunities to local businesses as part of our fundraising plan.

Due to our expansive geography, many of our colleagues who work here are also residents, families of service users and patients, carers for their loved ones and may be service users themselves. Their wellbeing is essential. Raising funds for the Charity will include looking after and enhancing their wellbeing.  

You will require experience of fundraising, bid writing and charity law and display considerable energy and enthusiasm to inspire colleagues, patients, service users, families, visitors and the local community to choose LSCft as their preferred charity in Lancashire and South Cumbria.

You will also work with local businesses, colleagues and volunteer networks to develop fundraising initiatives, activities and events. You will ensure that fundraising ideas and high profile events are in place to generate funds to desired targets in the first year of launch. 

The ideal candidate will have an outgoing personality, extensive fundraising experience and proven ability to create plans, strategies and income across different platforms. You will be a keen people person, be good at motivating, influencing and encouraging charity activities and be confident in your approach and able to work with minimal supervision, taking ownership in this role as our expert in the field of fundraising.

About Black Thrive

Black Thrive Global (BTG) evolved from the work of the Black Thrive Lambeth Partnership, established in 2016. We exist to address the inequalities that negatively impact the mental health and well-being of Black people so that the thriving of Black communities is the norm.

Our guiding principle is that Black communities should be at the forefront of reimagining, redefining, and co-creating a society where systemic racism and other oppressive systems have been dismantled so that they have fulfilling lives. We have two priorities – building a Black Thrive Research Institute and embedding race equity in systems change.

Purpose and Overview

The PCREF Programme aims to reduce and ultimately eliminate racial disparities in the services provided by the South London and Maudsley (SLaM) NHS Trust. The programme's success will be monitored through the Trust’s Performance & Quality system, emphasising collaboration between the Trust's staff, Black service users, their carers, and Black communities. The goal is to ensure equitable access, experiences, and outcomes for Black citizens utilising the Trust's services.

The Programme Manager for the Independent Advisory Groups (IAGs) in Lambeth and Southwark is crucial in advancing the objectives of the PCREF. This role focuses on fostering active community participation, building capacity, and ensuring that Black communities are equal partners in the transformational change programme. The Programme Manager will lead the development and support of local IAGs, ensuring robust governance, structure, and capacity building to improve mental health services.

Supporting the IAGs and the IAG chairs is fundamental to this role. It serves to enhance the capacity of the IAGs and chairs. Whilst the job description provides a succinct outline of responsibilities, ultimately the needs of the IAGs will be paramount, with direct leadership from the Director at Black Thrive. This role is in collaboration with various stakeholders, with a clearer focus on project mismanagement and varied learning styles. Leadership must be aligned with the IAGs, ensuring diverse and inclusive practices.

Supporting policy development is crucial, and there should be an agreement on oversight, with all parties having joint oversight and review responsibilities. Reporting back to the IAGs will be a key component.

The Programme Manager is expected to be a proactive and strategic leader, passionate about equity in mental health services and capable of driving meaningful change through collaboration with diverse community members and partners. This role demands a commitment to fostering an inclusive and supportive environment where Black communities can actively participate in shaping mental health services.

Duties and Responsibilities

DEVELOPMENT AND SUPPORT

· Establish and Develop IAGs: Lead on supporting the creation and ongoing development of local IAGs in Lambeth and Southwark, ensuring robust governance structures and effective capacity building.

· Resource Management: support in Identifying and secure necessary resources, including financial, human, and material, to support IAG activities in both boroughs.

· Recruitment and Role Assignment: support in the recruit of diverse community members from Lambeth and Southwark to join IAGs, ensuring roles and responsibilities are clearly defined and assigned.

· General Management Duties: Temporarily oversee and manage day-to-day operations, supporting community service development initiatives and ensuring smooth running of IAG activities.

COMMUNITY ENGAGMENT AND COLLABORATION

· Facilitate Community Engagement: Support both IAG chairs in enhancing community engagement through active participation in IAGs, collaborating with SLaM and various voluntary/community organisations.

· Encourage Broader Participation: Foster participation from various community, statutory, and non-statutory organisations in IAG and PCREF activities.

· Build Relationships: Develop and maintain strong relationships with local organisations, facilitating networking opportunities, and representing IAGs at PCREF events both online and in-person.

· Support IAGs: Provide continuous support and enhance the operational capacity of IAGs through regular check-ins, resource allocation, and problem-solving assistance.

COMMUNICATION AND PROMOTION

· Event Coordination: Plan, host, and deliver events, conferences, training sessions, and workshops to promote local services in both boroughs.

· Develop Communication Tools: Produce and disseminate communication materials in collaboration with the IAGS such as newsletters, toolkits, booklets, and feedback forms to support IAG activities and community engagement.

MEETINGS AND REPORTING

· Organise Meetings: Schedule and attend IAG and PCREF community meetings across Lambeth, Southwark, and other involved boroughs.

· Collaboration with Programme Managers: Work closely with the Croydon BME IAG Programme Manager and other stakeholders, attending regular update and planning meetings.

· Impact Measurement: Collaborate with the Maudsley Charity and Black Thrive to discuss and measure the impact of initiatives, generating detailed reports for stakeholders including for both IAGS.

PROJECT MANAGEMENT AND ADMINISTRATION

· Stay Informed: Keep abreast of PCREF change ideas and opportunities for IAG member contributions.

· Task Coordination: Oversee and coordinate additional tasks to ensure project success, managing administrative duties efficiently in line with IAG requirements.

· Policy Adherence: Ensure compliance with all relevant policies and procedures, including General Data Protection Regulations 2018.

· Budget Management: Manage and provide oversight of the project budget, supporting the development and delivery of the PCREF IAG Leadership Academy.

· Documentation Management: Maintain key documents and trackers from ideation to delivery, ensuring accurate record-keeping and reporting.

DEVELOPMENT AND DELIVERY

· Assist in the creation and execution of the IAG Leadership Academy. Ensure the effective implementation of change ideas in both Lambeth and Southwark.

About the role

Reaching the Last Mile (RLM) is a high profile, high value, multi-partner programme, which will make a significant contribution to the control and elimination of the Oncho LF across 13 countries. Sightsavers is the coordination partner in Nigeria and working with other partners to delivery on programme outputs.

The Technical Manager will work closely with the Global Technical Advisor for Oncho and LF to advise, guide and support the implementation of RLM adhering consistently to global, national and organisational policy, strategy, technical norms, contract terms and conditions ensuring that elimination/break in transmission timelines are not only met but exceeded where feasible.

As the Technical Manager you will ensure current WHO guidelines on Onchocerciasis elimination are followed and propose strategies for accelerating elimination of transmission. You will also provide technical support and oversee the implementation of onchocerciasis Lymphatic Filariasis activities, including  MDA, pre-STOP MDA surveys, Stop MDA surveys, Post-treatment Surveillance, Post-elimination Surveillance, Dossier development, in coordination with the  Sightsavers technical managers.

Further duties include:

• Being the point of contact for providing technical advice to RLM supported states country programmes on onchocerciasis and Lymphatic Filariasis.
• Work closely with FMOH, Oncho LF Elimination committees to align country programmes as recommended.
• Prepare progress reports on onchocerciasis and Lymphatic Filariasis RLM activities to Director RLM/NTD, Coordinator- Technical Advisor and country team.
• Link with the global technical advisers for LF, Oncho and for Patient Care to ensure synergy between activities and planning.
• Ensure close coordination of alignment of technical advice and activities in states were RLM is not the only source of  Oncho LF or MDA funding.
• Ensure Value for Money (VFM) and Leave No one Behind (LNOB) across all activities.
• Ensure timely evidence-based reports as required by the country office as coordinating partner.
• Ensure onchocerciasis and Lymphatic Filariasis activities are aligned with organization technical standards, nationally/internationally recognised standards and respective National Health Systems.
• Work closely with the Technical Advisors to exceed the onchocerciasis LF commitments of RLM.
• Work closely with technical advisors to keep up to date with and implement new developments in programme best-practise for onchocerciasis and WHO guidance.
• Escalate issues to the global Technical Advisors of Onchocerciasis and LF.

As the ideal candidate you will hold a degree or equivalent qualification in a relevant discipline and hold extensive experience and/or qualifications in onchocerciasis/LF within development sector. You will also have a successful track record of working in different context and have a background of working within a complex matrix structure without compromising the roles of key programme personnel.

About the role

Sightsavers Ghana office is currently seeking a Programme Manager to implement, develop, design, and monitor in country projects. The Programme Manager will also identify and contribute to programme growth and development in collaboration with partners and colleagues.

The Programme Manager duties include;

• Supporting partners by providing technical advice and expertise on the core thematic areas of Sightsavers work and give guidance to ensure the successful implementation of projects.

As a Conservation Projects Manager and a key member of the national Conservation team, you will work with experienced consultants and skilled craftspeople, with national and regional colleagues, volunteers, local partners and stakeholders to develop and manage a range of holistic, conservation and new use projects, from inception to completion, and providing professional advice and support to community led projects.  You will lead on all capital, conservation and maintenance, programmes in the region.

As a Finance Manager you will manage the day-to-day operations of the National Memorial Arboretum (NMA) Finance Team, delivering high-quality financial information and analysis for both NMA, a registered charity, and its subsidiary, NMA Enterprises Ltd. This includes preparing monthly management accounts, reviewing budget reports, maintaining the Fixed Asset register, and managing the team of Finance Officers. The role supports the Head of Finance in providing financial advice, preparing year-end accounts, and liaising with auditors. Additionally, it involves ensuring accurate financial management of both revenue and capital budgets, and deputising for the Head of Finance when necessary.

If successful, the main duties of your role will be:

- To prepare monthly management accounts for NMA Charity and NMA Enterprises to specific deadlines for dissemination to the NMA management team and consolidation into TRBL group accounts - ensuring they are accurate and provide a sound basis for the effective financial and commercial management of the organisation. This includes identifying and correcting any mis-postings and addressing the root cause of any errors.
- Review the monthly budget holder reports with relevant budget holders, provide analysis and commentary on key variances and assist the departmental managers with any corrective action required.
- To undertake and record financial checks and controls undertaken in the delivery of the above as appropriate including control account reconciliations.
- Ensure all relevant polices, processes and procedures, are documented and make recommendations for any improvements.
- Critically review and challenge draft budget and forecast submissions to ensure they are accurate, and avoid duplication and gaps.
- To assist in the preparation and development of financial reports for distribution to the project boards / external funders and other bodies as required, to facilitate the financial management and delivery of capital projects - ensuring all costs and income relating to the project are correctly accounted for.
- To support the Head of Finance in the provision of financial advice to the NMA senior management team, including budget holder advice.
- Maintain the Fixed Asset register.
- Prepare year end statutory accounts, in collaboration with the Head of Finance.
- Liaise with internal and external audit providing explanations and supporting documentation as required.
- To assist in the development, maintenance and provision of any other financial information that may be required by the NMA management team.
- To line manage the team of Finance Officers(currently 3) ensuring the effective operations of all transactional elements of the Finance team are managed on a timely basis, all queries are dealt with efficiently and effectively and the correct VAT treatment is applied to incomeexpenditure.
- Manage the month end process across both NMA Charity and NMA Enterprises, ensuring timelines are met and control accounts are reconciled.
- Prepare the quarterly VAT returns for review by the Head of Finance.
- To maintain strong working relationships with other members of the NMA and TRBL finance teams.
- Assist with cash counting and banking on key event days, e.g. Ride to the Wall / Armed Forces Day.

Home to over 400 memorials, including the nationally-important Armed Forces Memorial, it remembers the service and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve our country. Each year the Arboretum welcomes around 300,000 visitors, many of whom attend one of the 200+ events which take place across the site. The Benefits Service within SEL Mind supports people with mental health problems to navigate the benefits system and challenge unfair decisions. The service currently operates across Bromley, Lewisham and Greenwich, delivered in partnership with local NHS. It includes dedicated welfare benefits specialists who provide casework support, and a cross-area team of volunteers who assist with form filling and assessments for health and disability benefits.

The Casework Manager will play a key part in the service, providing line-management and supervision to a team of welfare benefits specialists, and on-site supervision for South East London Mind’s weekly form-filling clinic. The post-holder will lead on making sure that we are delivering high-quality and accurate advice in a way which meets the needs of our clients.

We are looking for people with significant experience of working within welfare benefits, including providing representation at appeals, and giving advice on complex entitlement issues. A strong understanding of the needs of people with mental health problems, and experience of management and supervising the work of others (whether staff or volunteers) are also essential to this role.

Role outline and purpose

Ensuring the delivery of The Trussell Trust’s vision to end the need for food banks in the UK by developing an in-depth understanding of Trussell Trust food banks in their area and using coaching and assist to build and hold productive relationships to:

· Develop and execute a strategic plan for reducing the need for food banks’  services locally.

· Work alongside local partners to increase public will for long-term solutions to end the need for food banks.

· Develop and manage strategic relationships with key stakeholders to assist evidenced-based policy change at a local level and feed into activity to drive policy and practice at UK wide and national levels.

Responsibilities

· Assisting trustees, staff and volunteers within food banks to develop their plans to end the need for their services locally through the strategic key areas of operations, volunteering, data, participation, church engagement, governance and stability, financial inclusion, stakeholder engagement, local influencing, referral pathways and signposting. 

· Assist food banks to operate in a safe, legal and dignified manner (through calls, visits, training, meeting facilitation and our risk management and self-assessment processes) and assist the facilitation of good practice within the network and wider organisation (through cluster meetings, regional forums, road shows, webinars, peer support and internal meetings).

· Contribute to the development and promotion of support available to food banks through the Trussell Trust (including use of the digital hub, toolkits, partnerships and expert advice) and assist food banks with grant application processes, as required.  

· Develop and manage positive relationships with relevant external stakeholders, including local councils and anti-poverty networks, to ensure the Trussell Trust vision is understood and able to influence local decisions, whilst supporting and empowering food banks to foster these relationships locally. 

· Work with food banks to ensure that local churches (including church leaders) are connected to and have an understanding of the importance of ending the need for food banks in local communities. 

· Support the development, and lead on aspects of delivery, of projects with food banks and external partners that contribute to ending the need for food banks. 

· Ensure the voice of our network is heard throughout the organisation through reporting, information sharing and participation in additional working groups and projects. 

Technical skills and minimum knowledge:

· Competent and efficient use of IT, particularly the main Microsoft Office programmes. Previous experience of Salesforce or similar CRM system is desirable. 

· Experience of working innovatively and creatively.  

· Experience of complex problem solving and responding to crisis situations.  

· Strong organisational skills and experience of managing competing priorities within challenging timescales.

· An appreciation and understanding of the significance of Christian faith within our food bank network, and the ability to build effective relationships in contexts where Christian faith plays a major part, and in which people of all faiths and none collaborate to make a difference together. Food banks in our network are typically governed by or run in partnership with local churches from across a wide range of denominations and traditions. 

• Would you like to lead the political and government engagement strategy for the largest membership body representing the NHS? This includes exploring new relationships across both central and local governments, as well as how we can deliver consultancy support to our members and partners?
• Do you have a high degree of political awareness, a deep interest in current affairs and strong networking skills?
• Can you demonstrate excellent project management skills, with the tenacity to drive forward projects from inception to completion?

We would love to hear from you if have:

• significant experience in public affairs, either in-house, for an agency, or having worked in government or Parliament
• strong experience of providing communications counsel to senior colleagues, including the ability to deliver this advice autonomously and at short notice
• the ability to consistently horizon scan, model best practice and learn from success and failure to drive continuous improvement
• experience in line management and developing team performance.
