An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Schools’ Adviser to join the Education team in the Diocese of Chester.

The Adviser will be a key member of the Diocesan Education team, working in conjunction with the School Effectiveness Officer, providing strategic leadership that promotes and delivers educational excellence and effectiveness across our Church of England schools and academies in the Chester Diocese.

The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong personal commitment to promoting education with a Christian purpose and have qualified teacher status.

This is a part-time position for 3 days (21 hours) per week.  The role offers hybrid working that includes working from Church House at Daresbury Park, Warrington, and travel around the Diocese.

Working requirements, salary & benefits

• Salary between £22,000 and £24,000 dependant on location and experience, plus pension scheme
• Full-time, Monday to Friday, 9.30am - 5.30pm. 28 days annual leave (including Christmas gift days)
• One year fixed term contract; we aim to support all Graduate coaches to progress to other roles with us after this initial year, with development towards management level within 3 years. 
• Occasional evening working required (for events such as termly Spear Celebration evenings)
• For most centres there is a requirement to become part of the partner church congregation, and you will be expected to participate in church team events as well as wider Resurgo team events, including weekly staff prayer meetings and annual staff conferences in summer and winter (one residential)
• A DBS check will be requested in the event of a job offer

As Supporter Care Coordinator you will play a key role in Viva’s Fundraising & Engagement team, building relationships with and providing exceptional supporter care to our donors – including individuals, churches and community groups. This exciting opportunity involves reporting directly to the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources and playing a crucial role in supporting the finance function across the charity's UK and New Zealand entities. The organisation seeks a qualified Accountant who is adept at managing diverse financial operations to further the charity's impactful global mission.

In this International Finance Manager role, you will:

• Be fully responsible for managing two finance service providers in the UK and New Zealand entities, ensuring that all invoices are processed and approved in time for fortnightly payment runs handling GBP and other currencies through different systems.
• Conduct quarterly reviews of accounts updated by the finance service provider, identifying variances and hold meetings with budget holders in the programmes team to support quarterly forecasting and maintain an 18-month rolling forecast.
• Ensure all reconciliations are completed by the finance service provider and present quarterly report summaries to the leadership team, and work with the Director of Finance and Corporate Resources to prepare reports for board presentations.
• Ensure annual year-end accounts are produced and reconciled, oversee the external audit process, and address any outstanding questions and lead the annual budgeting process with budget holders and review financial policies periodically to ensure compliance and relevance.
• Utilise your experience working within charities with complex funding streams by leading in the production of donor reporting and work with the finance service provider to establish standardised donor reporting processes.

• Preferably, have experience working in an international charity and have gained exposure to multiple currencies, and collaborating with international stakeholders.
• Have a thorough understanding of SORP and a background producing financial reports within the not-for-profit sector.
• Be a confident communicator and have the ability to work independently on a remote basis.

What we are looking for: We are looking for a person with excellent written skills with the ability to produce concise and creative bids. The post holder will have proficient IT skills, specifically Microsoft Office software and excellent communication and presentation skills required to build relationships with potential funders. 

What you will need: The successful candidate will need to be educated to A Level standard or equivalent and have experience of National Lottery Heritage Fund applications. They will have significant experience in Trusts, Grants or Corporate grant and bid writing as well as a proven record of successful applications for funding from Trusts and/or other Grant making bodies.
