About the role:

The Specialist Housing Advocate will work within a dynamic, fast paced team to provide intervention, advocacy and support that empowers women and ensures that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. This is a new and exciting service, and we are looking for someone passionate about ensuring that all survivors of domestic abuse are able to access safe and appropriate accommodation which meets their needs.

To be successful as Specialist Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on survivors and their children, and of best practice within the domestic abuse and housing sectors. You will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. The post holder will hold a caseload of survivors and will also be required to support Advance’s duty team on a rota basis which will involve completing intake assessments and providing crisis intervention support.

Superkidz Community Trust was founded in 2001 and over the years, has provided children and young people with a safe space to play and to interact with adults who have the time to listen to them. Job Description

Key accountabilities:

The Manager will:

· Be an integral member of the team delivering Superkidz day to day activities and groups.

· Following consultation with staff service users and the Board prepare a strategy, financial and operational plan that best delivers impact in line with the TGIM theory of change. This should include locations, staffing, activities, income generation and should be fully costed.

· Lead the organisation in the implementation and further development of this strategy in consultation with the Board.

· Proactively use quality and impact information and strategic analysis to inform the development of new programmes of work that improve the lives of beneficiaries.

· Ensure that systems and processes are in place to manage, monitor and report on all compliance issues including; safeguarding, health and safety, and risk.

· Take accountability for financial decisions that protect the charity’s funds, ensuring the charity is sustainable and fulfils the requirements of the relevant regulatory bodies.

· Ensure that there is an appropriate funding strategy in place to secure the greatest possible diversity of income, through commissions, grants, donations, fundraising and social enterprise trading, and lead on the delivery of subsequent plans.

· Lead on the effective management of all aspects of Superkidz services and staff team, ensuring that staffing systems and procedures are up to date, regularly reviewed, and fulfil legal requirements.

· Oversee and lead on the development of staff to ensure that all teams and individuals have the opportunity for development and can work at the highest level of performance. Mentor and cultivate the existing skills of staff, providing them with a platform to grow.

· Ensure that all Superkidz services are delivered in line with all external and internal quality standards and in line with commissioners/funders requirements.

· Develop and lead on a marketing and PR strategy that promotes Superkidz, raises awareness, and increases client and funder engagement.

· Develop and lead on an effective communications strategy, both internal and external.

· Lead on the strategy to assess and develop opportunities for collaborations, alliances, and partnerships that deliver increased impact and lead to financial sustainability.

· With the Fundraising Liaison Manager, demonstrate leadership in key strategic relationships with public bodies, funders, corporate sponsors and other external stakeholders, through a range of communications, networks and events.

· Ensure full, timely, accurate and effective communication with the Board of Trustees and any sub-committees of the Board.

· Ensure that all decisions made in the course of the role are made according to current legislation and in line with all instruments of governance.

The Opportunity

The School Engagement Coordinator is a new role working across ImpactEd Evaluation. The role will work directly with schools to deliver national research projects, support their onboarding to our School Impact Platform, and lead communications and data collection for our partnerships. The role would be a good fit for someone with experience or interest in the school sector and research and evaluation.

Day to day your role is likely to be a mixture of:

• Supporting new schools we are working with through their onboarding and data collection processes and monitoring progress

About the Role

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. This dynamic role will sit within the Finance team and report to the Director of Finance, however it will directly support the areas of Administration, Finance, Fundraising, and three different Service Delivery functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Support service/department managers with necessary purchasing.
•  Keep up to date record of monthly invoicing information for services and liaise between the Senior Finance Officer and the Service Managers to ensure this system is running efficiently and effectively.

Finance related tasks

•  Manage Petty Cash transactions on site, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept at all times, and perform the bank runs.
• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

Main Purpose of the Job

The Digital Enabler will work with the District Leadership Team and the Communications Officer to build the digital communications capacity of the District at every level, to facilitate effective participation by all members in the life of the church in the North West District, and to make use of new opportunities for mission and community-building in the digital sphere.

Key Responsibilities

1.Ensure that the District leadership is able to fulfil its responsibilities by ensuring there are reliable digital platforms for online, live-streamed and recorded meetings and events, for electronic dissemination of information (via web, social media and mailings), and audio and video recording and sharing..

2.Enable all members of churches in the District to have the opportunity for participation in District forums and events, and to receive information from their District and Circuits.

3.Co-operate with District and Circuit leaders, ministers and pioneers in the development of new forms of mission and church communities using a range of digital resources.

Key Tasks

Training and Support

1.Create a digital strategy for the District, identifying the essential resources and support needed to enable full participation at every level, and the opportunities for missional work in the online world.

2.Support the administration and governance of the District by facilitating online synods, committees and consultations.

3.Build a network of “digital champions” within Circuits and provide advice and support for local training and capacity building.

4.Devise and deliver online training courses for Circuits and churches.

5.Develop a “Digital Community of Practice” across the District, and linking where appropriate across the Connexion, which will envisage and create new ways of being and growing church in the digital age.

6.Work with safeguarding officers to raise awareness of digital safeguarding issues, and create usable information and guidelines for Circuits and churches.

Facilities and Resources

1.Work with the Communications Officer in building and maintaining the District’s online presence, including the website and social media.

2.Develop a range of digital tools and resources for the use of the District and its Circuits, and assist in their implementation. (These could include servicing local website and social media initiatives, plan-making and emailing applications.)

3.Collect and disseminate information on digital specialists in the District who can serve Circuits and churches. (This could include graphic designers, web and database programmers, audio-visual and streaming experts and others.)

Events and Online Communities

1.Provide technical support for online and live-streamed District events, including advertising, registration and ticketing, online and streaming facilities.

2.Work with the Mission Area Leads, Circuits and pioneers in implementing digital services, online communities and missional initiatives.

Personal Training and Growth

1.Maintain an awareness of changes in digital applications and resources, and consider how they can be used in the District.

2.Identify opportunities to expand knowledge and understanding, including by appropriate courses.

3.Reflect theologically on issues around faith in the digital world, and the opportunities for sharing the gospel by these means.

Location: Ideally based in Hertfordshire, Buckinghamshire, Bedfordshire, Cambridgeshire, Essex or Greater London (north) with the ability to travel within this region.
Hours: Full-time (37 hours per week) or open to part-time (22 hours per week)

We are flexible on hours of work and open to discussing part-time hours and other flexible working options - it is expected that for the period 3-9 months after the role begins, travel to an office base in the above listed regions will be required 2-3 times per week. Reporting to the Head of Facilities, the successful post holder will be responsible for the management of Facilities Assets and be responsible for the implementation of Health and Safety and environmental management in Family Action’s Central region (approx. 40 sites). You will also support with our assets across the whole of the charity, including supervising some external contractors. You will be a confident communicator who is able to work under pressure, achieve targets and meet deadlines, and be comfortable working in a small team environment where priorities can change at short notice.

Your skills

You will have a strong track record in delivering Facilities Management and a focus on quality, performance, safety, welfare and management controls. We want to hire a ‘can-do’ and energetic leader who will build and sustain positive working relationships with key internal customers, while developing partnerships that will continue to evolve and effectively meet the needs of the charity and every service user we support.

Main Responsibilities:
•To supervise the performance of external contractors for minor and major project work.
•To monitor the Family Action contracts, including the payment of invoices and budgets.
•Assisting in the procurement of necessary services such as M&E, security and telecoms.
•Collaborate with relevant stakeholders and suppliers through meetings and KPIs.
•Conduct Health and Safety site audits to a schedule across the central region.
•Support project managers with risk assessments and advise regarding their H&S system.
•To work closely with the Head of Facilities to develop corporate services for the region.
•Help develop the Facilities departments’ JWA (SLA) and regional measurables reported.
•Assisting with planning and undertaking major repairs, refurbishment and maintenance.
•Help continue to develop central procurement of services, equipment and goods and negotiating terms in liaison with the Head of Facilities.

•Member of IWFM to at minimum at Affiliate level (or equivalent).
•Trained to IOSH Managing Safely Level.
•Good working knowledge of standards and legislation as applicable to Facilities Management.
•Broad understanding of Telecommunication systems including VOIP phones, smartphones, and networks.
•Experience of delivering small site relocation projects.
•A friendly, helpful, and welcoming manner as well as excellent written and oral communication skills.
•Ability to deal calmly and efficiently with difficult situations both on the telephone and face to face.
•Willingness and ability to deal with emergencies.
•Experience of setting up and running office systems, maintaining records, and collating statistics.

As Complex Needs Community Keyworker you will provide one-to-one support to women on Probation living in the community, and women being released from Prison as part of their Post Sentence Supervision. You’ll provide focused support in identifying their needs and empowering them to access appropriate services in the community. You will also provide some in-reach and ‘Through the Gate’ support prior to women being released from prison.

You will manage a caseload of women with complex needs who are facing housing issues and provide them with advice, guidance and support that helps them connect with other support services in the community that can assist them to overcome barriers when securing safe and appropriate housing.

The role involves a significant amount of data recording and updating case management systems so you need to be prepared to spend a minimum of 35% of your working hours on this aspect and will need to manage your time effectively to meet the data management requirements. This is also a predominantly independent role, so you will need to be confident to make decisions and able to manage your own workload.

You will be employed by One Small Thing but will be part of a wider team of Community Keyworkers employed by our partner Advance. You will also have a desk space at Hope Street, Southampton, to facilitate close working with the rest of the Hope Street team.

You will be required to participate in training and team building events with the wider One Small Thing team as well as the Advance team, in Hampshire.

Our partner is a leading environmental organisation with impactful programmes in PNG. They are seeking a Finance Director to oversee the finance function; provide strategic analysis and advisory support; and to lead through succession planning and capacity strengthening within the country office. 

Responsibilities

• Financial oversight of the programme – this includes ensuring that there is a strong control environment across the HQ and regional offices, that policies and guidelines are properly understood and implemented, properly manage and account for income, and monitor banking, cash and cash advances and expenditure.
• Prepare and submit the annual accounts & statutory returns, ensuring that these are compliant with local laws and requirements.
• Financial management – creation and review of the organisational budget, oversee the monthly close and reconciliations, and prepare financial & KPI reports, and cashflow management.
• Grants compliance, management and reporting – supporting in budget creation for new grants proposals, monitoring expenditure versus grants income, ensuring that all project finance activities are compliant with grants requirements, providing financial oversight to sub-grantees, and preparing donor/grants reports.
• Undertaking due diligence on, and overseeing compliance and reporting from sub-grantees, supporting them with capacity building as required..
• Lead in the preparation of donor and other local audits, ensuring that the organisation is tax & legally compliant to the regulations in PNG.
• Assess and mitigate financial risks, safeguard the organisational asset.
• Coaching and building confidence and capacity of the local finance team.

Requirements

• A bachelors degree in accounting or finance; additionally an MBA or an accounting qualification is strongly preferred.
• Senior finance professional with at least five years of experience of leading the country finance function of a charity that is complex, both in terms of projects, but also portfolio of funding. Previous experience of working in a complex environment such as PNG is desirable.
• Willing to be hands on, alongside offering strategic advisory support.
• Strong technical accounting, financial management, reporting and grants compliance, management and reporting experience.
• Significant experience in the compliance and management of grants from institutional donors, including the US and European governments.
• Experience of developing a team, and building capacity of finance staff and staff in partner/sub-grantee organisations.
• Effective communicator.
