Background to School Food Matters

School Food Matters (SFM) exists to teach children about food and to improve children’s access to healthy, sustainable food during their time at school. We provide fully funded food education programmes to schools. Our experience delivering these programmes informs and strengthens our campaigns, bringing the voices of children, parents and teachers to government policy. 

Job purpose

· To support the team with the organisation and delivery of all food education programmes

Key tasks include:

· Providing project support to the Senior Partnerships and Programmes Officer and Development Manager in both the office and on-site to deliver SFM’s food education programmes, including gathering quotes and photos on projects

· Creating new and maintaining existing relationships with schools

· Delivering some assemblies and workshops to schools

· Supporting existing relationships with programme partners and funders

· Assisting with grant-giving processes

· Supporting the food education team with the preparation of grant monitoring reports

· Keeping up to date with safeguarding requirements and reporting procedures

• Maintaining the ethos of the charity and positively promoting our work at all times

· The Project Assistant will also undertake any other tasks relevant to the affairs of SFM that may arise from time to time.  Therefore, being flexible and approaching the job with an open and positive mindset is essential!

· Strong administrative, organisational, and motivational skills with great attention to detail

· Experience of building relationships with partner organisations and individuals

· Comfortable engaging with a variety of audiences (students, school staff and programme partners) including writing and responding to emails, conducting telephone, virtual and face-to-face meetings, running workshops and delivering assemblies

Homemaker Southwest provides independent advice and support to people who require help in finding, setting up or maintaining accommodation throughout Devon.

As a Money Advice Caseworker, you will be responsible for delivering high quality support services to clients across Devon, by telephone and face-to face, to sustain tenancies and prevent eviction wherever possible, with due regard to Homemaker’s policies and procedures.

You will have experience providing money advice to individuals at risk of homelessness and contemporary knowledge of debt solutions and welfare benefits.

Important qualities include strong communication skills, the ability to work independently and empower others, and the capacity to simplify complex information for clients. While most appointments will be conducted over the phone, some clients will require in-home visits, so the job demands flexibility to travel and work from different locations, necessitating the use of a personal vehicle

MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

 Work with clients

• Ensure that clients receive a prompt and professional service.
• Provide advice and assistance through a range of channels: face-to-face, by phone, or by email. Seeing clients in office and at outreach locations and visiting clients in their own homes as required.
• Receive and respond to referrals from identified agencies in accordance with prevailing guidelines/funding.
• Provide support to clients including preparing accurate financial statements, budgeting advice, progression of debt options, advising on court proceedings for debt recovery and repossessions, and income maximisation to ensure take up of benefits and options such as backdating, overpayment and sanction challenges, appeals and representation if required.
• Keep the client at the centre of every case; check the client’s understanding and communication needs, agree on an action plan with clarity on who is doing what, encourage the client to be involved with actions as appropriate, keep the client informed of progress of case, and ensure cases are concluded in a positive way.
• Communicate and negotiate on clients’ behalf with third parties as appropriate.
• Give support in the sustainment of any tenancy, as appropriate.
• Ensure clients understand the terms of any tenancy or other legal obligation entered, or about to be entered into.
• Take a holistic approach to issues presented and signpost/refer to other services to help ensure that the advice and other support needs of the client are addressed appropriately.
• ·Ensure clients are encouraged to give feedback on the service they receive and take on any comments on ways we could improve the service.

Networking/Partnership

• Work closely with partner agencies
• Promote the services of the organisation to local housing, justice, social welfare, government agencies and other stakeholders.

Administration

• Set up and maintain casework and other admin systems in accordance with organisation specifications.

• Keep up to date with legislation, case law, and good practice in debt and welfare benefits advice, attending appropriate training courses, using online resources and reading relevant publications.

General

The Senior Fundraising Officer will play a key role in the Fundraising Team helping to generate significant and increased income from charitable trusts and foundations and corporate partners.

The role will be responsible for ensuring a regular pipeline of new and existing income from both areas and ensuring partners are stewarded appropriately to maximise engagement with the charity’s aims and objectives.

The post holder will:

• Identify, research and develop new trusts and foundations leads.
• Proactively oversee and grow relationships with trusts and foundations that give four and five figure grants, identifying opportunities to strengthen relationships utilising meetings, project visits, informal updates and monitoring and reporting as appropriate.
• Produce formal reports to funders regularly as directed by grant giving bodies.
• Maintain accurate records to support reporting requirements and forward planning.
• To be proactive in cultivating relationships with potential new funders
• To identify relevant statistics and research to contribute to applications.
• Working with colleagues from across QAC to be able to produce compelling cases for support.
• Writing up case studies and developing other content to be used for applications but also within the wider fundraising functions.

About the role:

The Advice Service Manager is responsible for all advice team operations and developing the Kinship advice pathway.

You’ll manage a team to deliver a consistent, high quality and effective service. You’ll be responsible for developing and implementing systems and monitoring service quality and performance.

Continuously improving the service, embracing digital solutions and creating efficiencies and processes to drive performance, you’ll increase our ability to provide more support to kinship carers across England and Wales.

You’ll ensure that kinship carers are able to access the information and advice they need in an accessible and consistent way within a clear operational framework.

Key responsibilities include:

• Deliver high quality, targeted and tailored advice to kinship carers in England and Wales.
• Develop a service framework that delivers a consistent service within clear timeframes.
• Set out clear expectations for enquiry response across all channels.
• Manage daily advice line operations, including work on cases, data and continuous improvement.
• Act as deputy designated safeguarding officer (DDSO) providing clear advice on actions needed when safeguarding concerns are raised.

Essential criteria includes:

• Substantial working knowledge of advice service delivery frameworks.
• Working knowledge of call handling and client record systems.
• Working knowledge of assessing the needs of individuals (e.g. social care, financial and legal) to provide appropriate advice and information.

This rewarding post oversees the exciting research portfolio of the Psoriasis Association.  You will join at an exciting time with involvement in the updating of the Research Strategy.  The Psoriasis Association is a busy charity who alongside promoting and funding research, offers authoritative, reliable, quality information, advice and support for people whose lives are affected by psoriasis, in addition to raising awareness of psoriasis.

Principal Roles:

Do you have experience in successfully managing complex projects, ideally in a not-for -profit environment?  We are seeking an experienced Programme Manager to develop and shape programmes to successfully deliver against the Church of England’s ambitious target to become net-zero by 2030.

 Key Responsibilities

The post-holder(s) will:

• Oversee the ongoing development and delivery of the Net Zero Carbon (NZC) programmes for both dioceses.
• Maximise the alignment of the plans for each diocese as far as is practical to optimise the benefit of working together in partnership, and actively identify and develop opportunities for partnership working in delivery. Specifically, to develop a NZC action plan for Rochester including managing the adoption of the plan by the appropriate governance committees. (Note: Canterbury already has an approved NZC action plan.)
• Develop, maintain and deliver an implementation plan which highlights the strategic activities, has clear objectives and impact measures; including evaluation.
• Working with other diocesan colleagues, oversee the planning and development of decarbonisation projects to deliver the ambitions and targets in the NZC Action plans.

The Ideal Candidate

You will have a track record of delivering complex multi-stakeholder projects, ideally in a not-for-profit environment with and understanding of environmental and climate issue.  An understanding of how these issues affect the Church of England would be beneficial.

You will play a leading role in the operation and improvement of our data capture and analysis tools, including our Salesforce-based programmes MEL portal. You will contribute to the development of a data strategy for the organisation, and associated process improvement. You will help to ensure the quality of data, and contribute to research, programmatic learning, advocacy and more. To be successful in this role, you will be a fast learner, get things done and excel in working across teams as well as managing a varied portfolio of work. You will be a strategic thinker with an ability to manage complex problems in situations with significant uncertainty.

Key Responsibilities

1. Data Management and Analysis:

• Review and oversee data management processes, including storage and retrieval of data.
• Support the quality assurance of data across platforms, including data cleaning and audit, and providing input to the improvement of data collection.
• Lead on the development of data analysis reports as required, for programmes, research or advocacy.
• Contribute to the analytical design of research initiatives and knowledge products.
• Lead on the oversight and analysis of strategic data points over time. Create and maintain dynamic data visualisations.

2. Organisational Improvement

• Contribute to the development of a data strategy aligned with THET’s wider learning agenda.
• Identify issues and lead on the improvement of data related processes. Develop tools/guidance and engage in staff capacity building.

3. Programmes MEL Portal (Salesforce based)

• Ensure best practices are embedded across the use of the portal for quality, relevant data capture.
• Lead on the capacity development of staff and partners on use of the portal for data collection and extraction.
• Ensure the portal is fit for purpose, including interacting with service providers on troubleshooting and improvement.

As Community Fundraising Co-ordinator for the Huntington’s Disease Association, you will help deliver our strategic plans and objectives by generating and growing income through community fundraising activities. You will support our existing supporters and community fundraising portfolio as well as proactively expanding our reach with community-based groups, organisations, and volunteers, to ensure maximum financial return for the charity. Through the development of community fundraising products, you will engage with our supporters in new and exciting ways.

This is an essential role in a small, national organisation supporting people affected by Huntington's disease. This is an income-generating role, but it is also about connecting with our supporters and creating long-term relationships for the future. 

You will develop and deliver excellent stewardship for supporters and fundraising groups to secure and maximise income; you will advise supporters on fundraising legal requirements, fundraising policies and regulations, ensuring that all community fundraising activities meet the high standards of the Huntington’s Disease Association. In addition, you will also manage your own financial income and expenditure targets and budgets. 

You will be able to demonstrate experience of fundraising at a charity as well as experience of budget management. You will represent and promote the work, vision and purpose of the Huntington's Disease Association.
