We are seeking 2 part-time Children, young people & family activity officers that can provide engaging, fun and valuable activities that bring children, young people and their families together both in person and online.
No two days look the same in the Activity Programme Team. You might be running an online peer support session one afternoon, taking children and young people out bowling in the school holidays, running a Family Fun Day at our Life Without Limits Centre or taking part in our residential visits twice a year. You’ll also be conducting meetings with colleagues to plan for activities, and ensuring our database is up to date is essential.
The most important asset you can bring to this role is a “can do” attitude and enthusiasm, alongside a strong team work ethic. A commitment to quality is vital as RSBC strive to provide high quality activities for our beneficiaries.
Experience in working with children, young people and/or families would be an advantage, as well as an understanding of supporting children with disabilities.
The key responsibilities within this role are:
· Design, plan and deliver a wide range of high-quality activities for vision impaired children and young people and their families
· Support vision impaired young people with goal setting and achieving their desired outcomes.
· Support the recruitment of vision impaired children, young people and families to activities so they can benefit from RSBC services.
· Link with existing and potential external referral sources to promote RSBC activities and services and encourage children, young people and families to engage.
· Organise inclusive activities led by children, young people and family’s wishes and needs, that ensure building independent skills, confidence and well-being and encourage them to connect with others.
Flexibility is vital for these part time roles with some evening working, and weekends to fit with the needs of children, young people and their families.

Tameside SHS is a mental health, 24 hour supported housing and community-based service, working to a recovery model. We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, tenancy support, peer support and supported housing. We have been operating in the area for a number of years and offer a staffed service to our residents aged 18 and upwards. Care to join us?
As a Specialist Intervention Coach your challenge will be to monitor, develop and share good practice across staff teams to ensure individuals and teams are better equipped to work with a greater range of challenging support needs. We’ll also rely on you to provide high quality intensive support using psychotherapeutic intervention and support the staff team in delivering these. Working to deliver the guided intervention model and brief interventions for Waythrough as a requirement of service expectations will be important too. What’s more, when it comes to seeking to maximise a multi-agency approach for complex cases, provide effective leadership in formulating support plans or ensuring data entry to reporting systems is accurate, timely and in line with quality assurance requirements, again we’ll count on you.
You’ll be working closely with a range of professionals to ensure risk assessment, management and safeguarding requirements are effectively planned, assessed responded to and met, so good verbal and written communication skills are essential. You’ll also need a track record of dealing with ‘high risk’ clients and managing resources effectively, as well as experience of carrying out investigations and writing reports and recommendations. Change for Good Community Chaplaincy is a volunteer mentoring charity that works across London to support prison-leavers before and after release and as they resettle in the community. Central to our mission is the empowerment of those leaving prison to transform their lives through mentoring, advocacy, and peer support. We achieve this by offering support in prison, painstaking ‘through the gate’ work, volunteer mentoring, and our peer support group Next Chapter.
The last 4 years have seen Change for Good go from a mentoring project in HMP Wandsworth to an innovative resettlement charity serving 5 prisons. As we grow further, we need a CEO who can lead in the development of our strategic plan; inspire, train and support our small staff group in delivering our programmes; support the vital role of our volunteer mentors; and develop the roles of members of our community peer support group. The role also involves liaising with organisations across the criminal justice sector, working with multi-faith prison chaplaincies in challenging prison environments, and enabling the building of community.
As CEO you will:
● Ensure the effective delivery of Change for Good’s programmes, including in-prison support, through the gate, volunteer mentoring, and our peer support group Next Chapter

The Senior Youth and Play Worker will play a pivotal role in the Children, Young People and Families team, working as the senior practitioner and ensuring the smooth running of all our programmes and services. About this key role
Our successful candidate will carry out initial and ongoing assessments of the support needs of individual participants, before providing them with essential advocacy, mentoring, guidance and training interventions that meet their needs, plus engage and case-manage eligible participants on the CFO Evolution programme by providing ongoing resettlement support. You will be expected to create an Action Plan, plan and design appropriate activities, training programmes and interventions, and establish and deliver high-quality, engaging one-to-one and group sessions, while also monitoring participants’ progress and providing timely monthly reports.
We will also rely on you to develop strong relationships with HMPPS/agencies offering support, where appropriate provide holistic wrap-around with general elements of resettlement support and working collaboratively plan for and facilitate effective Through the Gate and warm handover to the relevant Support Worker in Community.
What we are looking for
- Working intensively with individuals and supporting their progression
- Working with offenders, or those disaffected and marginalised from mainstream services, in training, guidance, advice and counselling environments would be advantageous
- High level guidance skills, with the ability to deliver one-to-one and group sessions
- Knowledge of the issues affecting the rehabilitation of offenders and desistance theory
- Knowledge of HM Prison environments and/or training, education and employment opportunities locally and nationally, and of training and guidance
- Demonstrable ability to support and motivate learners with multiple complex needs
- The ability to effectively assess evidence and identify assessment criteria using a range of assessment methods
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- A flexible, collaborative and professional approach to your work.

Development and Renumeration

About the role
You will deliver high quality housing advice and advocacy in line with the hub’s local community priorities and work with people who are experiencing homelessness and bad housing to identify issues facing local communities. You will plan and deliver casework to individuals and communities to resolve their housing situation and engage with community groups, local organisations and individuals to understand local housing issues and raise awareness of people’s rights.
You will also work in local community settings and with community groups to deliver advice and rights awareness workshops and make sure that people with lived experience of homelessness have opportunities to share their story, give their opinions and participate in the design and delivery of Shelter services.
Offering day to day support to volunteers, providing learning, shadowing and mentoring and being a consistent role model for our values are also key aspects of the role.
About you
You are able to listen to, engage and work with individuals and communities and with all stakeholders, including people with lived experience of homelessness. You will have experience, knowledge of and/or proven ability in housing and homelessness advice and advocacy and are able to progress to specialist level knowledge, as well as the ability to carry out casework related interviews, maintain detailed case records, advise and support clients to make informed decisions.
