The Football Foundation are partnering exclusively with Robertson Bell in their search for a permanent Head of Finance. The Football Foundation are the Premier League, The FA and the Governments charity that helps communities improve their local football facilities through football grants.
The Head of Finance will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. With responsibility for a team of five you will lead and provide statutory, financial and management accounting, including all financial planning and analysis, for the Football Foundation (Foundation) and the Premier League Stadium Fund.
The role:
- Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation’s visions e.g. treasury management, developing long term cashflow strategies to maximise returns to the organisation.
- Lead and work with the SMT, Management Group, PMO Lead, and Data & Insight team to create and maintain financial and cost models to support the development and finalisation of strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts, focusing on the relationship between services, resources, and productivity.
- Work with the CFO in preparing and presenting the consolidated budget and plan to the SMT and ARG Committee.
- Develop high level models to support strategic and operational decision making, e.g. assessment of financial sustainability of grant applications and monthly reporting to funders in line with contractual obligations.
- Continue the development and transitioning of the finance team from a mainly transactional team to a team providing forwarding looking information. Enhance collaborative decision making through improved business partnering and transparent reporting.
- Ensure all legal entities comply with relevant legislation and prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT, Charity Commission, and other statutory financial returns as appropriate.
- Lead and manage the finance team, motivating and developing them so that that they are clearly focused, competent, and work effectively and efficiently.

Essential criteria:
- Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.
- Proven experience at a senior level in a finance role with responsibility across the entire finance function, including hands on experience in delivering business partnering.
- Knowledge of the legislative, tax and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.
- Leading an end-to-end external audit process.
- Developing/improving and implementing financial procedures and controls.
- Strong presentation and interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate and interpret complex issues at Board level, and to communicate and manage well at all levels of the organisation including experience of working with non-executives.
- Can demonstrate a ‘can-do’ attitude to delivering organisational change and improvement.
- Strong leadership skills, including the ability to motivate and develop team members.
The position will be based at The Football Foundation’s head office at Wembley Stadium and requires on average 2 visits per week to the office, dependent on business need. The closing date for applications is 8th September with first stage interviews taking place on the 19th September.

- Ensure youth participation at Family Action is at the core of the service delivery, ensuring young people voices support and shape organisational planning.
- Contribute towards developing policies and procedures for the organisations youth services, ensuring they are translated into practice with support and training.
- Contribute towards implementing identified practice improvements to drive high quality and performance.

· Professional and relevant youth qualification (Youth Work Degree). JNC Professional Youth Work Status.

The Role
Working together with two other experienced administrators, this role will support managers and full-time officers in the important trade union work for our members, including being a first point of contact for enquiries from our representatives and local volunteer SOR representatives relating to casework.
Providing administration support to full time officers, this role will also organise network events and member communications and provide support for the balloting and industrial action process.
Working with other departments, this role will assist in updating and ensuring the integrity of our member data and will produce research and data reports to assist in business planning and decision making. This is an exciting time for the SOR and this role will engage with and provide support for a number of emerging projects that support the business plan and our membership growth plans.
Who we are looking for
The ideal candidate will have previous trade union experience in the administration of case management ballot consultations, industrial action and member networks. Very strong data analysis skills are important, along with the ability to work positively across the team, whilst manging multiple tasks to support projects and varied case work.

About this role
As BI Developer, you’ll:
- work with different teams across the charity to support with data collection and analysis,
- recommend and produce reports using different tools, understanding the needs of various stakeholders to build customer queries, dashboards, and worksheets,

The Fundraising Executive role and purpose is to:

The role:
The postholder will be vital in securing growth in our Enterprises, Training and Supported Housing services. They will create imaginative proposals and partnerships to attract funding for our Enterprises and Training team to access trusts, foundations and national funding programmes. They will develop local marketing and fundraising initiatives enabling us to create new ideas and enhance our work. Working closely with the Senior Leadership Team to develop new supported housing services, their role will be crucial to us achieving our Income Strategy and the goals of our next five-year Business Plan.
Key duties and responsibilities:
• Compile and upkeep a database of relevant opportunities on Zoho database so that we can accurately plan fundraising activity
• Evaluate opportunities with the CEO to ensure they meet organisational needs and that we achieve a high success rate
• Write and submit a range of well-researched and persuasive fundraising applications to trusts and other sources for support
• Lead on completion and submission of complex funding applications, involving other PBHA staff, notably the Enterprises and Training Manager.
• Build and nurture positive relationships to mutual benefit with trusts and foundations, promoting the impact of PBHA and how we may enable a trust to realise their mission
• Work in conjunction with the Director of Finance to create budgets and collate financial information fully supporting the delivery of proposed projects or activities
• Develop, in conjunction with a team of volunteers and the Information Project Manager, a range of mechanisms for maintaining and developing relationships with funders, including using Zoho, social media and events
• Work with managers and use Zoho to ensure accurate and on-time reporting to funders
• Work with project managers to ensure compliance with funding requirements of all future, existing and recently finished contracts and grants
• Assist the Director of Services in the coordination and completion of PQQ documentation and tender documentation in response to tender opportunities
• Identify and respond to opportunities for sponsorship support for PBHA’s activities
• Monitor performance in relation to fundraising and business development providing regular updates to the Senior Leadership Team
• Keep abreast of fundraising methods, trends and sources, communicating these internally
• Continually develop, taking responsibility for own learning and personal development.
Customer Focused Services:
• Lead your volunteer team in promoting participation and co-production opportunities so that tenants/participants have maximum influence over the development of PBHA.
• Positively promote and signpost tenants and participants to report complaints in line with PBHA’s practice.
The Kingsland Hub site has one level and is accessible to wheelchair users.
The post holder is accountable to the Chief Executive Officer.
Main Conditions of Service:
This post is for 22.5 hours per week, 3 days per week, Monday – Friday, 7.5 hours per day with days to be negotiated on appointment. Duties will occasionally be carried out over evenings and some public holidays. Overtime is not paid but in line with Agile working, hours can be averaged out over a 2-week period.
Salaries and expenses are based on PBHA’s salary scales and are revised each year. The salary for this post will be in the range of £38,143 - £40,095 points 22 to 25 and the starting salary is £38,143 point 22, for the full-time hours.
In common with all posts at PBHA, confirmation of appointment is subject to a probationary period (6 months). The notice period for this role is 4 weeks.

The Prince's Trust is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. As part of this commitment, we undertake basic disclosure checks by the Codes of Practice for all roles within the Trust, and for our roles working directly with young people, at an enhanced level. Having a criminal record will not automatically exclude applicants.
We have both Youth Development Lead positions for Foundations and Delivery Partnerships specialisms across our East Midlands region. We will be hosting an assessment centre on the 11th September at our Nottingham centre for both roles. Please note you must be available to attend on that day. As part of a team across the Midlands and Southern England you will manage an existing cohort of approximately 75 active volunteers providing dedicated support in their work helping their mentees secure outcomes including personal development, jobs and self-employment.
Are you excited about providing volunteers with consistently stellar service that inspires them to make a real difference in young people's lives, and are you ready to empower them for incredibly positive outcomes? Picture yourself leading and supporting a group of volunteers. You'll use our CRM (Customer Relationship Management) and your connections with fellow team members to link up with opportunities that support young people and our programmes.
We're all about keeping things in tip-top shape so can you dive into the detail and keep things running smoothly, like accurately tracking, recording, and keeping tabs on volunteer activity? And can you encourage volunteers to do their part by keeping our systems up to scratch, ensuring we're always on the ball with core vetting and training requirements?
As well as the serious stuff, we're big on showing love to our volunteers! Our volunteers are exceptional individuals driven by a deep passion to ensure the success of the young people they mentor. You'll collaborate with volunteers from various backgrounds, each bringing a rich tapestry of skills to support a young person's journey. As part of the role, you will be expected to host some memory making events in the Birmingham Centre or our partner offices with volunteers and our young people. You will work closely with colleagues, delivery partners, and external stakeholders to enhance volunteer opportunities and strengthen our volunteer network. Can you help us expand?
