Working as a Supporter Merchandise and Fulfilment Officer, you will work collaboratively with stakeholders, both internally and externally to provide the tools needed for our employees and the public to support our work and maximise their fundraising activities. Working alongside the Supporter Merchandise and Fulfilment Manager you will be integral to the ongoing success of this fast-growing area of the business.

A vital part of this role will involve building and maintaining strong relationships with internal stakeholders, key account managers with existing suppliers, and with new suppliers to the organisation.

The Merchandise and Fulfilment team sits within the Brand department, which plays a leading role in the development, management, and understanding of Alzheimer’s Research UK’s brand. Our aim is to help the charity become a household name, by collaborating with teams across the organisation to consistently bring our brand to life through all that we do. We strive to deliver excellence across brand management, celebrity management, creative content, and merchandise

This role is a 12-month fixed term contract (or on return of the substantive post holder) to cover a period of maternity leave.

This role will be known internally as *Supporter Merchandise and Fulfilment Officer - FTC

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

Merchandise

· Proactively engaging with new external suppliers, ensuring that they are reliable, compliant and offer the best value for the charity

· Help to drive the team’s work on sustainability to ensure that goals set out in the teams Sustainability Charter are successfully achieved

· Maintain strong relationships with existing suppliers and build an understanding of the strengths and gaps we have in our supplier portfolio

· Working with internal stakeholders to fully understand the requirements of ad-hoc merchandise requests so these can be accurately briefed to suppliers

· Taking a lead on any internal merchandise queries, such as quotes, lead times and suitable suppliers

· Offering advice and insight to internal stakeholders around selection and use of materials

Ecommerce

· Leading on development of the charity’s online shop including product selection and marketing activity

· Working with the digital team to identify and implement any required site development and updates.

· Thinking creatively and innovatively to generate ideas that push the boundaries and drive our ecommerce offering forward

· Support the Merchandise and Fulfilment Manager in the development of a wider charity ecommerce strategy

· Monitoring the online shop email inbox and actioning any customer queries

· Reconciling stock levels between the online shop and fulfilment provider

Fulfilment

· Leading on queries relating to fulfilment from both internal stakeholders and external suppliers

· Ensuring the successful upload of weekly material order files to charity’s third-party fulfilment provider

· Weekly stock level monitoring, reporting any concerns or queries to the Supporter Merchandise and Fulfilment Manager

What we are looking for:

· Good knowledge of Microsoft Office, particularly Outlook, Excel and Word

· Experience of working independently and as part of a wider team

· Excellent written and verbal communication skills

· Good organisational skills

· Ability to manage and prioritise own workload

· Ability to work under pressure and to a tight timeline

Additional Information:

Ways of working: As part of our Agile ways of working you will be required to work approximately 2 days a week from the office, which is subject to the requirements of the role and the business needs. Flexibility on where you work can be split between working from home and our office.

Roles that are classed as part of the Agile ways of working are not able to claim any costs for Mileage/Travel on Public Transport, Accommodation and/or Meals.  This includes when attending the office for various meetings/events.

Role Summary     

With Alcohol Change UK’s innovative Try Dry® app welcoming more users than ever before, we are excited to be developing our offer to Local Authorities which will benefit from receiving valuable local health data trends and insights taken from our app. This role will be instrumental in designing a refreshed product, recruiting new Local Authorities to join us and providing ongoing support to them to make a real difference to those drinking at risky levels in communities across the UK.   

Key Tasks and Responsibilities   

Development of a Try Dry local product   

• With the Senior Digital Programme Manager, take learnings from existing contracts with Local Authorities and develop a refreshed package of support to market to Local Authorities, enabling them to gain valuable insights into the drinking behaviours of people in their local area  

• Develop professional, standardised reports to be shared with those who have signed up   

• Develop a ‘package’ of benefits (access to local data, insights, tailored marketing materials, additional support) that makes signing up a more compelling offer   

• Working with our digital agency, recommend ongoing technical improvements to the app and reporting platform to improve user experience   

Recruiting to a Try Dry Local ‘network’  

• Recruit new Local Authority members to our Try Dry ‘network’ – presenting regularly to Local Authority clients and demonstrating the benefits of membership through presentations and marketing calls   

• With support from other staff, develop wider marketing approaches across multiple channels, including digital, print and social media advertising  

• Attend conferences, events and trade shows to advertise as appropriate  

• Work with colleagues in our Consultancy and Training team to explore opportunities for cross promotion   

 Relationship Management   

• Provide ongoing support to Local Authority clients, acting as a first point of contact    

• Prepare data reports for each Local Authority throughout the year  

• Share insights into local data in engaging, easy to understand ways   

Wider support for the Communications and Marketing team   

• Enable other members of staff to use insights from the Try Dry® app and local user data in their work, evidencing the difference that our Behaviour Change interventions can make to individuals   

• Support the development of a range of content to highlight the benefits of the Try Dry® app, particularly around key campaigns such as Dry January, Alcohol Awareness Week and Sober Spring  

• Particularly during our Dry January campaign period (December – January) provide additional support for the team across a range of roles

• Experience of using a CRM database - donor record management and insight/reporting.

• Provide practical and personal support to clients in an approachable, caring and person centred way.

• Work as part of a dedicated team in the hostel/ accommodation setting to provide a high quality, positive and safe service to clients.

• Work on the weekly shift rota that includes early and late shifts as well as some weekends and bank holidays.

About you

Context and background: 
 
There are 1.5 million children and young people with a disability (CYPD) in the UK.  Over 3/4 cannot access regular leisure facilities which massively impacts their health and well-being. Furthermore, the impact of living with a disability can have a significant impact on the wider family, with over 72% of parents reporting mental health challenges and over two thirds saying they feel isolated some or all of the time.  
 
Gympanzees’ mission is simple. We want all children and young people living with any disability to have access to high-quality, fully inclusive leisure facilities so that they can enjoy fun, fitness, and friendships and support their families out of isolation.  
 
Sounds simple, but it’s a huge task.  There is nowhere in the UK like this. Anywhere. At all.  But we’re changing that, and we want you to join us! 
 
Since 2018 we’ve been hosting Pop Up’s during easter and summer months, across Bristol, in various special schools which has seen us welcome over 23,500 visitors.  Each one has helped hone and improve our delivery model, and longer-term plans.  These Pop Ups have seen some incredible firsts, including: 

• A 6-year-old taking their first steps 

• A 12-year-old sleeping through the night for the first time 

• A 3-year-old having his first laugh 

• An 18-year-old standing independently for the first time 

Families have travelled from all over the country to enjoy the Pop Ups, some covering 6-hour journeys just for their afternoon of fun! 

During COVID we quickly adapted our offer to include a Lending Library which continues to this day, offering nearly 300 items of specialist equipment, free of charge. 

In 2023 we purchased a new site to develop into a permanent home which will open in summer 2026.  Redevelopment is underway, and so too is an £8 million campaign to support this extraordinary project.

Where you’d fit in 

Gympanzees is a growing team which currently consists of 16 people.  The fundraising team consists of 6 people.  This role is a crucial member of the fundraising team and will be delivering on a vital income stream that is both financially and strategically significant for the capital project.  Overseeing a total income budget in the region of £1.4m across Corporate, Events and Groups fundraising, this role will lead and deliver on the strategy to identify, engage and steward key supporters from across these income streams, with a heavy focus on our corporate partnerships. 

Job description 

As the Business Development Manager, you will play a pivotal role in securing vital income from across the corporate partnerships funding stream, whilst leading a small team to maximise their own fundraising efforts from across small events and group fundraising.  
 
This position is ideal for someone with proven experience delivering the above and especially those with capital campaign experience, but this is not a pre-requisite.  The main focus is on developing new business through corporate relationships. 
 
You'll be tasked with distilling complex information into compelling narratives that effectively convey our mission and objectives while aligning with a corporate partners CSR and ESG strategy.  Energy, confidence and excellent communication skills are essential.  
 
To do this you will need to use your experiences of identifying, developing and winning new corporate support utilising and developing our Corporate Champion scheme, Charity of The Year as well as commercial & strategic opportunities. 

Your approach will be highly organised and methodical to ensure effective and efficient processes lead to meaningful corporate partnerships.

• Line management and support of one corporate & events fundraising officer who stewards our corporate partners and oversee a small events calendar.

• Line management and support of one fundraising administrator who provides admin support across fundraising, Just Giving reporting, direct comms with groups and individual supporters, whilst also delivering discrete projects such as pieces of research.  

• Ensure that our database and supporter information systems are updated on a regular basis in line with Data Protection legislation and Gympanzees policy and procedures to ensure all records are up-to-date and accurate. 

Please demonstrate to us you are, or have: 

1. Experience of researching and engaging with key decision makers within a corporate environment including but not limited to C-suit and CSR/ESG leads. 

1. Experience of working with and through senior volunteers and committee members. 

1. Experience of success in delivering five, six and seven figure relationships. 

1. Experience of account management or partnership management within charity or private sector. 

1. Ability to work under pressure and manage a varied and competing workload using initiative and creativity to problem solve and deliver success.

1. Excellent written and verbal communications skills to analyse, interpret and present complex information in a clear and persuasive way for a wide range of audiences (including senior) to inspire support. 

1. Proficiency in using Windows based software packages, MS Teams, and CRM databases. 

1. An independent, outgoing, and confident individual, who is results orientated, working on their own initiative, whilst also being a compassionate and supportive line manager who can create the environment for their team to thrive and deliver.

1. Proven ability in accurate financial record keeping and assimilating and presenting data in a clear and accessible format. 

1. Strong business acumen and understanding of how different sectors and organisation might want to engage with a charity.

About the role

As an Intensive Case Management Worker, you will work in a psychologically informed way to establish open, trusting and high-quality professional relationships with members. Women at the Well is a support service for women based in the King’s Cross area of central London. We provide practical support and advocacy to women facing a wide range of disadvantages, and we have a specialism in working with women whose lives have been affected by prostitution and/or sexual exploitation.

We run three inter-related services: (1) a women only drop-in service, where food, laundry, showers and gentle activities are available without any pressure to undertake anything else; (2) an advocacy service from our King’s Cross hub where assigned key workers support women to access their entitlements and more; and (3) an outreach service where we visit areas of London where women are rough sleeping as well as hostels and other settings. In everything we do we are trauma informed, holistic and woman-centred. We take referrals from many external partners and while we have a hub-centre in Kings Cross we are a pan-London service.

We are currently recruiting for two roles in our small and friendly support worker team doing vital and life-saving work with very marginalised women. We are seeking: an Outreach Support Worker (works shifts in the community, with some time spent at King’s Cross hub); and an Inhouse Support Worker(based at our King’s Cross hub), both on 9 months contracts with a possibility of extension.

A fantastic opportunity has arisen for a Welfare Assistant to join a leading occupational benevolent organisation, on a part time, temporary basis, until the end of November 2024. You will act as the first point of contact for new and existing beneficiaries, via their helpline and email enquiries. You will determine eligibility for support and how the charity can best help the individuals concerned. This involves providing information about the service and support that they offer. Where appropriate you will pass on enquiries to the Welfare Caseworkers and coordinate occasional referrals to their service delivery partners. All contact with beneficiaries will need to be recorded in the databases used by the charity.

To be considered for this role you will have experience of working in a helpline/contact centre role or similar, in the not-for-profit sector and have experience of supporting those in need (for reasons of health, financial etc.) confidentially and sensitively. Knowledge and experience of the welfare benefits system and of other support agencies is desirable, as well as having strong interpersonal skills to communicate with a diverse range of people, often including people in distress. Excellent administrative and organisational skills are required for this role. The Involvement & Engagement Officer will play a crucial role in delivering the new patient and public involvement and engagement strategy for Alzheimer’s Research UK.

The role forms part of the Involvement & Engagement team, previously known as the Public Engagement team. This is a new team, formed in October 2023, and is part of the Information and Involvement (I&I) department. The team has a growing focus on patient and public involvement, managing a key group of involvement volunteers, supporting colleagues and dementia researchers through developing guidance and training, and enabling best practice. The team also delivers public engagement initiatives, with the aim of making dementia research accessible and inspiring to the public through face-to-face events and participatory projects and supporting researchers to deliver engagement. The team also supports fundraising colleagues and activities through helping to embed and enhance ways to engage supporters with dementia research.

The team forms part of the busy Policy, Communications & Involvement directorate and works closely with colleagues both within the directorate and across the charity. The I&I department’s mission is to improve understanding of dementia and the diseases which cause it and encourage and support the public and people affected by dementia to get involved in research. The evolving remit of the team means this role has significant scope to shape and develop this area of work.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager, implement ARUK’s public involvement and engagement strategy.

· Coordinate and deliver the online public event series, working with colleagues across events, marketing and social media to plan sessions and effectively promote them, both externally and internally, to engage supporters and other members of the public with dementia research funded by ARUK.

· Coordinate and deliver public facing activity around ARUK Research Conference, identifying opportunities to engage with local communities about dementia research.

· Seek opportunities for public facing activity, that engage people with the topic of dementia and the importance of research, in line with ARUK’s strategic goals.

· Maintain relationships with the ARUK Research Network and facilitate Centres in the planning, promotion and delivery of public engagement activity.

· Support colleagues to effectively engage with their audiences, creating and maintaining compelling activities and resources that bring dementia research to life.

· Facilitate, plan and deliver the work of the Insight and Experience Panel, including liaising with members and providing dementia specific assistance, arranging logistics for meetings, responding to queries, liaising with internal stakeholders.

· Support the recruitment of new lived experience representatives, with a focus on improving representation from people with a dementia diagnosis and those from underserved communities.

· Responsibility to ensure records relating to involvement work are kept up to date in line with ARUK policies and procedures.

· Helping to develop and deliver training on engagement and involvement for the panel, colleagues and the research community, working with the Research Involvement Manager.

· Work closely with the Research Involvement Manager and wider Research team, sharing knowledge and insights and supporting their work focussed on involvement in research. Collaborate on special projects relating to involvement as appropriate.

· Act as a champion for public involvement across ARUK, effectively communicating the importance of involvement in the charity’s work and supporting colleagues to effectively incorporate involvement into key projects and initiatives.

· Working with the Involvement & Engagement Manager to produce ongoing evaluation of the involvement and engagement programme, proactively coming up with suggestions for new initiatives and continuous improvement of the programme.

· Keep up to date with patient and public engagement and involvement sectors to identify emerging knowledge and best practice that might benefit ARUK’s work. Take part in groups that support professional development around involvement and engagement.
