About the Role:

You will be working within a strengths and recovery framework embedded within a trauma informed approach to meet the varying needs of young people experiencing a multitude of varying needs including offending behaviour and complex mental health. You will have responsibility of housing management and will work within the management team and internal SHP Central teams to ensure the service are delivered to the highest standard.

About the role

Alongside the Service Manager, you are responsible and accountable for monitoring, maintaining and providing the highest standards of clinical and personal support and service delivery, while promoting independence and choice to the people supported in the service. You will support the Service Manager to manage and ensure the delivery of the service’s key quality and safety priorities by holding delegated responsibility in key areas of the day-to-day running of the residential service. As a Deputy Service Manager, flexibility is important for both you and for the service. You will be required to do on-call shifts during out of office hours. • Support the PEN national calendar of events through attendance or promotion. This includes Excellence Hub meetings and other activities centred around our national priorities.
• Work closely with the PEN National Clinical Leadership Team (CLT) to discuss and review national and regional priorities. Attend a virtual meeting with CLT 2 times per year.

What expertise you’ll bring

You’ll:

• Be a UK-based clinical healthcare professional, working in Parkinson’s or with extensive interest and expertise in the condition, with exceptional interpersonal and influencing skills. Healthcare professionals living with Parkinson’s are also encouraged to apply.
• Have a good understanding of the landscape of health and social care delivery, education and workforce development to support the strategic aims and objectives of Parkinson’s UK.

What you can expect from Parkinson’s UK

You’ll:

• Be formally welcomed and introduced to the Excellence Network and your role as a regional clinical lead.
• Be provided with an introduction pack, which outlines all the activities of the PEN at a national, regional and local level, so that you can gain an understanding of where your role fits in.
• Meet regularly with the Professional Engagement team to discuss and plan activity in your region, working to a co-developed engagement plan for your PEN region. We will be flexible, taking into account your individual needs.
• Meet with the Professional Engagement Lead or Associate Director of Policy & Health Strategy after 6 months in the role for a review meeting and then annually thereafter (or more frequently if required).
• Be provided with a set of resources and information to support you in your role eg. a ready made presentation on the PEN, data from the services within your patch, including relevant data from the UK Parkinson’s Audit.
• Be invited to an annual event for the National and Regional Clinical Leads, to provide updates, training and opportunities for discussion.

A bit more about the opportunity

• Time commitment will be 0.5 days per week (1 programmed activity) to be worked flexibly across the month.
• Monthly rate will be based on skills and experience.
• Term of consultancy services will be set tenure of 3 years from date of appointment, with an option to extend once for a further 3 years.

The role of an IDVA is to address the safety of victims and survivors at high risk of harm. IDVAs work with their customers from the point of crisis by safety planning and risk assessing using the DASH to ascertain the level of risk to the victim. OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

As Senior Scientific Projects Officer, you will be pivotal in delivering Beacon’s scientific training initiatives. Your role will involve creating and delivering educational content through written guides, webinars, and workshops, aimed at equipping patient group leaders and academics with the knowledge to contribute effectively to the development of new therapies for rare diseases.

Alongside the Scientific Projects Manager and other key team members, you’ll work across two main areas of the charity’s work:

1. REMEDi4ALL: A European-wide drug repurposing platform, aiming to expedite the use of existing medicines to address unmet clinical needs. 2. Rare Disease Research: Supporting the development of the UK rare disease research ecosystem, alongside LifeArc’s newly funded Rare Disease Translational Research Centres. You will help establish new standards in patient-centred research, disseminating findings and insights from this innovative network to accelerate rare disease treatment development in the UK.

Across these projects, you will manage the development of educational materials, including writing and reviewing content, supporting and coordinating volunteers and pro bono contributors, planning and delivering live training events, and assessing needs through feedback and stakeholder engagement.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Designing curricula and programmes for live training sessions for patient group leaders, academics, and other stakeholders.
• Creating written and video training materials for our projects, both independently and with Beacon team members, collaborators, and pro bono supporters.
• Developing and maintaining the REMEDi4ALL Digital Repurposing Academy using a WordPress-based learning management system.
• Overseeing and coordinating the expansion of the REMEDi4ALL Digital Repurposing Academy.
• Delivering live training on various topics on behalf of Beacon.
• Leading project work, engaging with a diverse range of stakeholders, and representing Beacon at meetings and forums as you expand your knowledge and confidence.
• Researching and conducting interviews to identify the training needs of our target beneficiaries.
• Performing in-depth research to understand user needs and training experiences and incorporating into training content.
• Collaborating closely, primarily through virtual communications, with project partners across the UK and Europe.
• Managing and updating a database of drug repurposing training opportunities.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION 

This is a role suitable for someone with, ideally, 2 or more years of experience within science or medical communication - this may be in the form of medical writing, developing and delivering training or medical science liaison work - and looking to contribute to a non-profit environment.

The Role

As our Deputy CEO, you'll support the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and be responsible for the delivery of programme, funding and impact strategies. 

You’ll play a crucial role in shaping the future of Unfold by supporting the development and implementation of Unfold’s organisational strategy and taking ownership of the delivery of our programmes, funding and impact strategies.
