We are seeking to recruit a passionate and hardworking new Marketing and Communications Executive, to oversee our communications strategy and help develop the organisation during an exciting period of growth.

Reporting to: CEO

Location: Remote

Working Hours: Part-time, 16 hours per week (working days are flexible)

Salary: £25,000 pro rata (based on a full-time equivalent 37.5 hour week)

Contract Length: One year, fixed term (with the potential to extend based on available funding)

Restrictions: Must have the right to work in the UK

This is a 16 hour a week role which would be perfect for someone looking for a flexible job that makes a big social justice impact. This would suit someone with family responsibilities or who is studying a part time masters course for example, who needs a job role that fits in around their other commitments. You could work it full time over two days or part time over 3, 4 or 5 days a week.

You will be joining a wonderful team in the UK and Uganda. We currently have two paid staff (based in London and Bournemouth) and a variety of volunteers in the UK, plus a team of 26 staff in Uganda. Your views will be valued and you will get the chance to work together within our team to problem solve and suggest ideas to improve our programmes at every step of the way.

We are looking to recruit a new Marketing and Communications Executive who believes in our vision that there should be “No Street Called Home” for children living on the streets in Uganda and who wants to help us to grow this impact and further change children’s lives.

Job Purpose

- To design and deliver our communications plan, to a high standard.

- To design and deliver our supporter care plan

- To support volunteers of a wide variety of skill sets to help S.A.L.V.E. to better achieve our aims and objectives in a variety of roles.

- To work collaboratively with, and offer support to, the rest of the UK team, to best meet S.A.L.V.E.’s aims and objectives.

- To work with the S.A.L.V.E. team as required, developing and improving our existing programmes of work to best benefit our service users.

- To raise awareness of the work of S.A.L.V.E. International and be an ambassador for us in the community.

Key Activities

The following activities are intended as a guide to the main responsibilities of the post and are not an exhaustive list of duties and tasks. To carry out these activities you will be working together with and given support by the CEO. The post-holder may be required to undertake other duties that are not listed below, at the direction of their manager. The job description may be amended from time to time after consultation with the post holder.

- Design and deliver the communication plan of the organisation. This will include administration of:

• Website
• Social Media channels
• Newsletters
• Campaigns
• External comms and brand development

- Administration of our Supporter Care Programme. This will include:

• Being a dedicated point of contact for Community Fundraisers
• Regular comms with new donors and regular givers
• Developing campaigns to attract new supporters

- Supporting the UK team, as required. This will include:

• Supporting the CEO on a variety of projects at different times in the year (eg. working on our annual report, preparing papers for board meetings, preparing assets for a supporter event etc.)
• Supporting the Development Manager with fundraising bids, including design work and proof reading.

- Managing communications volunteers in the UK to help to build the capacity of the organisation.

- Supporting with general organisational admin, as required.

- Working with the S.A.L.V.E. team to deliver on our strategic plan. Contribute to its review and improvements over time to maximise the organisation’s impact with our service users through regular evaluation and learning reviews where required.

· Experience of completing a website redesign/relaunch

· Experience in using a customer data platform for customer records such as Beacon (preferred).

· Video, photography and editing experience.

· Knowledge of Uganda and its culture, particularly if you have spent time there.

Usher Kids UK is looking for a compassionate and enthusiastic Family Liaison Officer to provide emotional wellbeing support, guidance and information to our wonderful community of children, young people and their families living with Usher syndrome.

Job Title: Family Liaison Officer

Location: Remote, with requirement for in-person attendance at some meetings and events during the year (travel expenses covered)

WORKING AT USHER KIDS UK

Our charity provides vital support to the Usher community.  In recent years, demand has grown for our services so this year we are very excited to be growing our staff team.  The new Family Liaison Officer will work alongside our CEO and Events and Communications Officer, playing a vital role in providing both emotional wellbeing and practical support to our young people and their families.

OVERVIEW OF THE ROLE

Family Support Lead

As Family Liaison Officer, a big part of your role will be providing tailored support, information and advice to families from diagnosis onwards.  This will include:

o Responding to enquiries from families

o Assessing support needs and signposting to external services as appropriate

o Providing follow-up remote support where required

o Providing face-to-face support at occasional clinics (normally based in London)

o Designing and maintaining support processes and systems

o Monitoring engagement and using insight gained to make recommendations for service improvement

Emotional Wellbeing Lead

As our lead emotional wellbeing practitioner, you will assist in the design and delivery of several of our projects and events.  These will include:

o Providing support and facilitating daily group sessions with young people aged 11-25 at our annual USHthis! summer camp (in 2025, the camp will take place from Friday 25th July - Friday 1st August and you will need to be available for these dates)

o Help to deliver our one-day events in the spring and autumn

o Co-create the Empowerment Programme for 17-25 year olds with Usher syndrome.  This is a pilot programme that aims to support our young adults in developing self-advocacy and identity alongside mentoring through the key milestones in young adult life

o Facilitate 1:1 and group sessions on the Empowerment Programme

o Facilitate monthly virtual USHchats for parents and carers (these take place one evening a month)

Across all aspects of the role, you will need to ensure the safeguarding of and promote the welfare of children and adults at risk who are engaging with Usher Kids UK.

PERSONAL SPECIFICATION

Experience and Knowledge:

o Over 2 years’ experience of providing emotional wellbeing support to:

- children and adolescents

- parents/carers and family members

o Experience of supporting families with additional needs

o Experience of supporting families with sensory or dual sensory needs (desirable)

o Experience of family support case management

Animal Equality is an international animal protection organisation working with society, governments and companies to end cruelty to farmed animals. Animal Equality has offices in the United Kingdom, United States, Germany, Italy, Spain, Mexico, Brazil and India.

Animal Equality releases investigative materials captured from inside factory farms and slaughterhouses, exposing the conditions that farmed animals face around the world. We publish our findings on television, in newspapers and online. We routinely secure mainstream media coverage, including on the BBC, ITV, Sky news, The Times, the Guardian, New York Times and many more.

Animal Equality also advocates for political change. Our current campaigns include a UK ban on foie gras imports, increased enforcement of existing animal protection laws, legal protections for farmed fish, and Government subsidies for transitioning towards a plant-based food system.

We focus on farmed animals because of the scale and severity of the issue. More than a billion animals are confined and killed for human consumption every year in the UK. Farmed animals also often suffer in some of the worst ways: pigs typically endure painful mutilations, many chickens die of heart attacks, fish are confined in underwater cages, and some farmed animals are victims of deliberate abuse and neglect. But the problem is solvable! By utilising effective campaigning strategies, Animal Equality is having an impact for animals around the world and building a future where all animals are respected and protected and are no longer exploited for human consumption.

About the role

An experienced advocate with a sound understanding of the UK political system and legislative process, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will be responsible for leading on Animal Equality’s life-saving legal advocacy campaigns on behalf of farmed animals.

Working as part of a highly effective team, within a fast-paced environment, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will develop and implement advocacy strategies that influence public policy with a goal to advance Animal Equality UK’s mission: to end the exploitation of farmed animals.

An excellent communicator, with an ability to convey complex information in a digestible way, the Policy and Advocacy Specialist will be a professional with a proven track record of policy programme delivery. The role involves engaging with policymakers, building relationships with coalition partners, overseeing public affairs initiatives, and influencing Government policy to create meaningful changes for farmed animals.

General responsibilities:

• Contribute to the organisation’s policy programmes: Garner reliable intel, conduct in-depth research, and carry out robust data analysis to inform Animal Equality UK’s ongoing policy and advocacy efforts for animals. Develop authentic, ambitious, and inspiring short-term and long-term policy goals that have the greatest impact for farmed animals. Maintain and develop the organisation’s policy statements, as required.

Keep abreast of relevant political developments and maintain Animal Equality’s strong external policy presence through coordinated, proactive, and reactive lobbying and campaigning efforts.

Salary band £32,500-£35,000, depending on experience. This is a remote working opportunity (UK-based candidates only); colleagues are expected to attend mandatory monthly meet-ups in central London.

We are seeking a highly skilled finance professional to perform this essential senior leadership, strategic financial  and management position in our London headquarters. The approximate annual income for Internews Europe and its subsidiaries, of which the post-holder has oversight, is c. £20m.

The post-holder will report directly to the COO for Internews Europe. The post-holder will be a leader on matters of corporate financial strategy, inter-Alliance financial accounting, budget management, and overall accounting operations.

This is an exciting opportunity to drive systems and process improvements in corporate financial management and planning, whilst also ensuring the smooth running of the financial service centre of the organisation.

The Finance Director is a key member of the Senior Management Team (SMT) in London, in addition to other international management units.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following:

Key Strategic Deliverables will include the following:

· Lead on strategic financial management of Internews Europe, promoting effective and efficient processes to ensure the financial health and sustainability of the organisation.

· Oversee and deliver on the statutory audit and delivery of the Annual Report and Accounts in line with UK charity requirements.

· Act as the focal point in all financial matters for the Internews Board of Trustees, Finance and Audit subcommittee and the Senior Management Team (SMT)

· Act as the primary Finance Team representative of Internews Europe in the relationship with Alliance partners, modelling and implementing improvements in the recording of financial data and transactions and improving financial reporting to the Programme Management Units.

· Ensure timely production of financial management information to key stakeholders across the organisation to enable informed decision making and alterations to existing plans where required.

· Co-ordination of the annual organisational budget preparation process and ensure effective budget oversight and management by project and department managers

· Promote strong collaboration with colleagues from Grants and Contracts and Development Teams to reforecast and test progress towards annual targets for income and expenditure.

· Ensuring professional and compliant delivery of all Internews Europe financial processes, to drive improvements in processes and ensure all staff understand and adopt such processes

Finance Department operations Specific duties with support from the Finance Team will include the following:

· Management of the Finance Team, providing effective leadership and creating an environment where Finance staff can learn and develop professionally

· Oversight of core accounting processes including cash-flow planning and management, accounts payable and receivable, and analysis of the balance sheet debtors and creditors

· Management of the relationship for resource sharing and associated accounting transactions arising with the other entities in the Alliance network to facilitate combined management/programmatic reporting when required, while ensuring sufficient financial controls to ensure distinct financial reporting and protection of separate legal entity status.

· Oversight of international banking processes (GBP and foreign currency, income and payments) and Treasury management to minimise organisational risk and negative foreign exchange valuations.

· Primary holder of the Banking relationship, including monitoring banking arrangements in international offices

· Co-ordinate the monthly payroll process with HR colleagues and the external payroll bureau

Oversight of subsidiary financial processes

· Currently Internews Europe has two subsidiaries, Internews International (II) based in France and Internews Media Development based in Ireland, currently dormant.

· Oversight of financial processes including relevant controls, policies and procedures

· Oversight of financial reporting in accordance with relevant GAAP and regulatory requirements.

· Monitor local regulatory requirements and ensure compliance with relevant tax and reporting and audit requirements

Key Stakeholder Engagement and Compliance

· Primary advisor to SMT of ramifications of strategic decisions, including financial, tax and other regulatory impacts

· Input to strategic development initiatives regarding appropriate application of donor funding mechanisms and utilization of subsidiaries.

· Ensure compliance with the UK regulatory regime and with the requirements of our principal funders and other supporters

· Lead responsibility for ensuring the maintenance and regular review of all statutory and best practice policies and procedures, staff training and socialization of changes

· Assisting the Programme teams with interpretation of donor compliance requirements, their translation into Internews Europe operational and/or financial procedures, and their effective implementation

Participation in global business operations leadership

· Collaborate with other members of the global senior leadership team for efficient operations and execution of the mission

· Collaboration with Information Technology and Solutions for effective implementation of software and other technology solutions, providing information and expertise and support for appropriate budgeting and expense allocation.

· Collaboration with Enterprise Risk Management and Security team regarding identification and mitigation of financial and other risks, as well as preparing policy and reports in accordance with Charity Commission guidelines

· Collaboration with People and Culture team to ensure appropriate labour regulations, Internews policies, procedures and financial controls are adhered to in the processing of payroll and other benefits; includes oversight and development of payments to employees and consultants working outside of the UK on Internews projects.

As a Digital Campaigner and Fundraiser (German Language), your tasks will include:

Digital, Creative, Comms 

• Identify European campaign opportunities and develop and lead on campaigns from planning phase, to execution, pulling out the creative digital tactics in between
• Storytelling - Write strong, compelling copy which results in our members taking action on various issues, including for email and social media platforms
• Tailor our emails fundraisers and messages to the German context 
• Manage email communications with our German members, including setting up and sending emails using our online campaigning tools (currently, ActionKit), and analysing data and user engagement
• Run ads in your country to optimise our campaigns for growth and impact
• Stay up-to-date with digital campaigning and marketing trends and find innovative ways to apply them at WeMove Europe

About You - Who are we looking for?

We are seeking a passionate and dedicated Digital Campaigner and Fundraiser (German Language) who brings these qualities to the table:

• You are comfortable with and excited by helping people understand their own power and becoming agents of change
• You understand the power of words and stories to make change, and you write great copy and have great writing skills in English and German
• You speak and write German at a native or fluent (C2) level
• Results drive you and crave more data, keen to run tests that are backed by statistical significance and are always looking to improve your work 
• You excel at finding visuals and creating engaging graphics and video content for campaigns.
• You are comfortable with new software, online tools and all things digital
• You are deeply committed to working in Germany and Europe for bold, structural change and believe in empowering the people around you to do the same
• You have some experience with non-partisan political campaigning, and if that experience is online and digital that’s an added bonus
• You have a strong understanding of the political and social context in Germany as well as some understanding of the European context.
• You are fluent in English to a degree that you can work in an English-speaking environment and can translate from English into German
• You are happy with travel in Europe 
• You look forward to working in a team where we all strive to learn from each other in order to have the biggest possible impact
• You have some experience in digital fundraising

• Salary range: Gross year salary per country, depending on experience level and location. The ranges below are indicative and based on 2+ years of relevant experience.

  • Netherlands, UK     46,000 - 54,000 (Amsterdam, London ranges 15%-20% higher)

  • Germany, Italy    41,000 - 49,000 (Berlin, Rome ranges 5% higher)

  • Spain, Poland        33,000 - 39,000 (Madrid, Warsaw ranges 3%-4% higher)

We’re looking for an inspiring and influential leader to join the Kids Matter Senior Leadership Team as Head of Fundraising. In this exciting role you will inspire, lead, and develop the Fundraising team, ensuring clear objectives, effective performance assessments, and tailored development plans. You’ll lead, shape and deliver an ambitious fundraising strategy, with a target of £854k in year one and continued growth ahead. We are seeking someone who can balance big-picture planning with hands-on management, ensuring everything runs smoothly day-to-day.

The Role

The team are determined to increase the prominence of legacies both internally and externally in order to grow and protect this important income stream, which accounts for over half of donated income.

To be successful in this role, you will be an exceptional team player, a strong communicator and an excellent relationship builder. We’ll need you to acquire and steward supporters through a legacy journey while optimising the value they bring to the Association in both gifts in Wills and affinity to our cause. 

Key responsibilities will include:

• Providing outstanding, tailored supporter journeys and ensure legacy supporters have a stewardship plan that best suits their individual motivations

• Engaging with supporters at stewardship events, on the phone, and via email

• Event planning and management of legacy stewardship events

• Supporting the development of a robust legacy pipeline by identifying and cultivating leads, and by building relationships with existing legacy pledgers.

About You

Your experience in legacy fundraising / community fundraising / direct marketing / stewardship or running events will stand you in great stead, but most of all, we are looking for somebody who excels at building relationships and who shares ouar vision to make the Association the charity of choice when it comes to gifts in Wills.

You will bring to this role:

• Experience and understanding of working within a legacy/community fundraising or business development environment

• Experience of working as part of a high-performing team, achieving and exceeding targets

• Excellent networking and relationship management skills

• Excellent communication and presentation skills

• Proven ability to innovate and adapt your approach to meet the needs of different supporters
