A4ID seeks to recruit a dynamic, vibrant and experienced Policy, Research and Learning (PRL) Officer who will champion and be responsible for supporting the development of A4ID’s policy, research and learning portfolio. In collaboration with the Programmes Team and under the supervision of the Policy, Research and Learning Lead, the PRL Officer will conduct cutting-edge and rigorous research, write policy papers and briefs and creative content for articles, reports, and presentations to communicate A4ID’s policy recommendations.

You will also have the opportunity to work with experienced staff across the organisation, and the PRL Officer will ensure that A4ID has up-to-date, relevant evidence and creative policy solutions on salient issues as delegated by the Policy, Research and Learning Lead in close consultation with the CEO, CPO and the Programmes team. The role:

• Lead and develop the Financial Reporting team, including regular 1-2-1's, coaching, mentoring & upskilling where appropriate.
• Lead the planning, execution and management of the group external audit and preparation of the UK consolidated financial statements under UK GAAP and Charities SORP.
• Responsible for the integrity of the Trial Balances including regular reconciliation of balance sheet control accounts.
• Set the accounting standards by which the financial transactions are recorded including income recognition criteria. Accounting and reconciliation of restricted funds.
• Lead on the month end close activities and production of high quality, accurate and timely management accounts pack and associated reports.
• Oversee the collation of meaningful commentary including highlighting deviations from financial target, impact analysis and actions required to recover financial position.
• Provision of regular and ad-hoc reports for internal stakeholders to drive financial performance and decision making.
• Set the financial planning framework including methodology, assumptions and timetable, analysis of risks and opportunities and recommendations to the senior finance team.
• Act as technical lead on more complex areas of accounting and reporting.

We're looking for 5 kind, compassionate and resilient Support Workers to join our Heany Cluster service in Kensington and Chelsea.

There are 5 hostels in the cluster ranging from high, medium to low support which are all based in the borough of RBKC. The

Heaney Cluster an intensively supported housing scheme for the most challenging customers in the borough. The majority of the customers come with a history of entrenched rough sleeping; often coupled with enduring mental health difficulties. The aim is to offer a home to those who would have difficulty finding accommodation because of their lifestyle choices involving extreme drug and alcohol misuse. The high support hostel caters for eleven service users with complex needs and is staffed 24 hours a day with the minimum of three staff on duty. The medium support services are staffed from 9am to 9pm where the customers present with varying degrees of mental health issues. The Assessment Centre is staffed 24/7.

The hostels are in close proximity to each other, and staff will be expected to work across the units. Three of the hostels supports both male and female customers and one is males only.
Heaney Hub implements and promotes the Psychologically Informed Environment (PIE) model. This is an approach to supporting people out of homelessness, particularly those who have experienced complex trauma or are diagnosed with a personality disorder. It also considers the psychological needs of staff: developing skills and knowledge, increasing motivation, job satisfaction and resilience.

Support Workers will devise person centred support plans with customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet their needs and goals. This will include sign posting them to the local drug and alcohol services to address substance misuse issues. They will work with customers to promote social inclusion and alongside other members of the team to promote independent living, encouraging customers to maximise their skills and choices.

This role requires a valid Right to Work for the UK as Look Ahead are not a sponsoring organisation.

Job summary 

We're looking for an ambitious and talented Head of Public Fundraising join our team. As a member of the extended leadership team, you'll inspire and lead a talented team of fundraisers committed to growing income from community, events fundraising and individual giving (including legacies). A highly motivated, creative team player with a strong track record of success, you'll support our fantastic public fundraising team to take these vital income areas to the next level and beyond. 

You’ll have a solid understanding and experience of one or more public fundraising income areas, be adept at identifying and creating opportunities for income growth and be able to communicate with a wide range of audiences, organisations and stakeholders — internally and externally. An understanding of health and medical causes would be beneficial but certainly not essential. About the Service

The Sexual Health project was piloted in Islington and the project has expanded and will now cover Camden, Haringey and Barnet. From late 2021, the Sexual Health project covers a further three sexual health clinics in North London and will continue to provide high-quality holistic support to survivors of sexual abuse and violence who approach the sexual health clinic. As with all Islington SASS services, the Sexual Health project is inclusive to all survivors, but this project has a specific focus on increasing the engagement for LGBTQ+ survivors.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sexual Health Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates to sit in the Islington SASS team and co-locate in Barnet Sexual Health Clinics. As a IDSVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse attending the clinic including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referral. In addition, you will act as the Sexual Health lead for Solace in for Barnet, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Sexual Health professionals.

The Sexual Health IDVAs also hold a caseload providing one-to-one support to high-risk victims/survivors at the point of crisis as well as those at standard and medium risk levels, co-ordinating multi agency support and providing practical solutions.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

Fundraising Lead  (Part-time, fixed-term contract)

Peers for the Planet (P4P) is the House of Lords cross-party climate and biodiversity action group bringing together over 160 members of the Lords to put climate change and biodiversity loss at the top of the political agenda. Since our launch in 2020 we’ve seen exciting momentum, building cross-party collaboration and winning world-leading legislative changes to  embed climate and nature requirements in areas as diverse as financial markets, pensions, energy, health, skills, R&D, built environment and much more.

A combination of seed funding and subsequent grants has enabled the organisation to flourish. Following a successful start-up phase, P4P is established as a valued, trusted and highly effective specialist in the climate policy landscape. Fundraising to support and sustain our objectives for the future is a top priority over the coming year.

Role Profile

We are excited to recruit an experienced fundraiser who will work closely with our Director and our Board of senior Parliamentarians in the House of Lords to meet our ambitious targets. This is our first dedicated fundraising role and is an opportunity for a fundraising specialist with considerable experience of managing relationships with funders and bringing in new funding partners. This could have been as a fundraising manager in a larger institution or as a Director or Head of Fundraising.

Our annual budget is around £700k a year, and the single key priority is to find someone who can help manage the relationships we have with 5-10 existing funders, and research, engage and bring in 5–10 additional funders as part of a funding portfolio, which may include high net worth individuals. We will prioritise those applicants with direct experience of finding and engaging new high value donors/granters. Whilst we welcome interest from candidates with a climate fundraising background, we would also strongly encourage applications from well-connected, dynamic fundraising experts with a strong track record of securing grants and donations in other fields.

This is a critical role for us to help realise a sustainable future for a unique organisation which punches above its weight in impact and which offers a flexible and warm working culture. The position is being offered on an initial 9 month contract but if we can find someone able to deliver on key objectives, we have every intention of extending the role and cementing it into our leadership team.

Our fundraising lead will have an exceptional track record of securing grants and in developing and operationalising funding strategies. You will be able to think both creatively and strategically, navigating the funder landscape with intelligence and confidence, and will drive fundraising activity forward and coordinate all the necessary processes and systems to enable this to happen effectively and efficiently. You will be a resourceful do-er, using your funder knowledge, financial acumen and communications skills to work both independently and in collaboration with our talented and supportive team. Fundraising priorities:

• Develop/operationalise a fundraising strategy, leveraging the best return on investment of fundraising activity for the organisation and, where necessary, diversifying funding sources
• Along with the Director and Board, hold responsibility for meeting fundraising targets, including securing a mix of new grants/donors at the £10k-£250k+ level.
• Craft and coordinate compelling funding bids, drawing on the expertise of staff

Managing funder engagement:

• Coordinate a programme of engagement and internal systems/processes needed to nurture and steward a range of current and potential funder/donor relationships
• Work closely with the Board and staff to understand and build on pre-existing relationships with donors, Trustees and senior leaders at relevant trusts and foundations
• Undertake prospect research to identify new potential funders
• Deepen existing connections with the broader fundraising community, both within the climate/nature funders community but also in related/overlapping sectors
• Work with the Policy and Communications Lead to ensure that P4P’s organisational comms are compelling and meaningful for a broad spectrum of potential grant makers or donors
• Organise fundraising events

Insight & opportunity:

• Maintain latest insights on trends and issues, as well as on specific grant opportunities and other potential income streams, both in the climate funding sector and related/overlapping policy areas (health, finance, science, skills etc)
• Develop and maintain a thorough understanding of the opportunities for P4P to drive positive change for climate and nature in order to identify new funding opportunities

Operations & finance:

• In collaboration with our Finance and Operations Manager, develop and maintain a thorough understanding of organisational budgets, funding gaps, resourcing requirements, and income targets in the short, medium and long term
• Coordinate reporting and monitoring for all grants and lead on maintaining our funder database
• Set up and lead the preparation (e.g. briefings) for meetings with current and potential funders, and ensure timely follow up
• Lead internal fundraising meetings with relevant colleagues/directors to support development, implementation and evaluation of our fundraising plans
• Take responsibility for internal training to embed fundraising skills across the team

Skills and experience

• Long-term experience of developing and delivering fundraising strategies and functions with an established track record of meeting fundraising goals
• Good knowledge of the funding landscape across a range of geographies and sectors, which may include climate and nature but also other subject fields that may intersect with or complement these
• Exceptional writing, editing and presentation skills; able to communicate with precision and in an engaging style
• Evidence of analytical skills and ability to think innovatively and creatively about funding opportunities, within political and other restraints
• Strong relationship and influencing skills, with evidence of ability to persuade and negotiate at a senior level
• Evidence of ability to respond with energy and speed to new and unexpected opportunities
• Strong understanding of fundraising regulation, governance and compliance, and of diverse giving models
• Strong process, planning, database management, budget and monitoring skills
• Commitment to P4P’s mission and to using your skillset for the good of people and planet

The Head of Finance will lead the finance team, ensuring robust financial management and sustainability to support our charitable objectives. With responsibility for a team of five you will lead and provide statutory, financial and management accounting, including all financial planning and analysis, for the Football Foundation (Foundation) and the Premier League Stadium Fund.

The role:

• Develop and implement financial strategies that support the organisation’s visions e.g. treasury management, developing long term cashflow strategies to maximise returns to the organisation.
• Lead and work with the SMT, Management Group, PMO Lead, and Data & Insight team to create and maintain financial and cost models to support the development and finalisation of strategic plans, budgets, and forecasts, focusing on the relationship between services, resources, and productivity.
• Work with the CFO in preparing and presenting the consolidated budget and plan to the SMT and ARG Committee.
• Develop high level models to support strategic and operational decision making, e.g. assessment of financial sustainability of grant applications and monthly reporting to funders in line with contractual obligations.
• Continue the development and transitioning of the finance team from a mainly transactional team to a team providing forwarding looking information. Enhance collaborative decision making through improved business partnering and transparent reporting.
• Ensure all legal entities comply with relevant legislation and prepare statutory accounts, corporation tax, VAT, Charity Commission, and other statutory financial returns as appropriate. 
• Lead and manage the finance team, motivating and developing them so that that they are clearly focused, competent, and work effectively and efficiently.

• Professional accountancy qualification (e.g. ACA, ACCA, CIMA) with significant post-qualified financial and operational management experience.

• Knowledge of the legislative, tax and regulatory framework of companies, ideally in the not-for-profit sector.

About the role:

We are looking for an Independent Domestic Violence Advisor (IDVA) to compliment our existing IDVA working alongside East London Foundation Trust. This is a part time, fixed term role. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse who are inpatients across Bedfordshire. This role will be working with victims of domestic abuse who are predominately risk assessed as standard/medium. This role will also work alongside our other specialist services covering Bedfordshire.

As an IDVA you will be:

• Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic abuse.
• Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
• Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
• Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
• Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training

You will need:

• Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic abuse is advantageous
• To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
• To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
