About the role
The Natural History Museum is seeking a proactive and self-starting, ambitious, driven, creative and forward-thinking Internal Communications Manager to support its 1100 members of staff, across three sites. This role is responsible for developing and overseeing the delivery of the Museum’s internal communications strategy.
You will relish seeking out (and prioritising!) the vast amounts of news within the organisation – creating engaging content that resonates with colleagues. With a creative, inclusive and strategic approach to delivering engaging employee communications, you will ensure the Museum adopts best practice. You will be encouraged to explore and share new innovations in internal communications.
This role has a broad remit to develop and manage internal communications for the Museum that informs and celebrates the varied work of colleagues from creating temporary exhibitions, delivering world-famous visitor events and leading the transformation of the Museum’s galleries, to the ground-breaking research conducted by our 350 scientists.
Supporting a wide range of internal communications activities, this role will inform, engage and motivate colleagues about the Museum’s vision and mission and all the vital work the Museum is undertaking to create advocates for the planet.
You will have a proven track record of developing and delivering impactful communications strategies that incorporate in-person and online events and digital communications which are effective throughout a multi-site organisation.
About you
A talented self-starter, you will have excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to establish good working relationships quickly. You will be a creative storyteller with good attention to detail, accustomed to working proactively with a breadth of stakeholders to develop compelling narratives and impactful communications.
With proven experience managing a breadth of Internal Communications channels and in-person and hybrid events, you must be comfortable working autonomously in a fast-paced, varied environment. You will have experience managing crisis communications.
You will play a key role in advising colleagues, including the Executive Board, on Internal Communications and in supporting the development and maintenance of Internal Communications channels.

• Developing and implementing a member engagement strategy, ensuring that institutions gain significant value from their involvement in the Centre of Excellence to include a recognition and awards programme to reward and celebrate members’ excellent practice and engagement with the Centre of Excellence.
• Providing strategic oversight to the enrolment and validation process for new members, ensuring that new institutions meet the Centre of Excellence’s standards, and work closely with the Network Member Manager to streamline onboarding, guaranteeing a positive initial experience that sets the stage for long-term involvement.
• Overseeing the tracking and evaluation of member engagement, using data to identify trends and areas for improvement. 3. Workforce Development:
The Senior Workforce Development Manager will lead a team of High Performance Skills Coaches to design, implement, and continuously improve a world-class teacher training programme. By incorporating global insights and innovative practices, this role ensures that the programme enhances teaching quality and raises educator capacity to deliver world-class education.
• Utilising insights from international benchmarking and emerging trends from global partners to incorporate cutting-edge methodologies and world-class standards into the teacher training programme.
• Leading a team of Skills Coaches to guide the development and delivery of high impact teacher training experiences, focusing on practical and solutions focussed strategies underpinned by international best practice that improve teaching, learning, and assessment.
• Overseeing the planning and scheduling of training activities to align with the academic calendar, ensuring that sessions are well-timed and accessible to educators throughout the year. Collaborate with the Marketing and Communications teams to promote training opportunities, generate demand, and expand programme reach, actively engaging member institutions and their teaching staff.

This role is office based (as above) but with flexible hybrid working. It is expected the postholder will attend the office at least once or twice a week.
Full time working hours are a minimum of 35 hours per week, normal working hours are 09:00 to 17:00 Monday to Friday although we pride ourselves on having a flexible approach to our working practices and service delivery and are happy to discuss flexible working options, including part time, with suitable candidates.

We are seeking a Senior Outreach Manager to join our dynamic team. Key Responsibilities - after onboarding, we will expect you to:
- Develop and lead the 2025 growth and marketing plan, including creating marketing emails and social media content to engage prospective members. - Manage agency relationships; overseeing the management and development of any campaigns from briefing through to post-campaign analysis, collaborating with external partners, taking responsibility for resolving queries, trafficking all stages of the project and escalation of potential problems.

Role Requirements
- Working alongside the Head of Public Fundraising, you will strengthen and implement business planning, pipeline and budgeting processes as well as devise comprehensive audience-led stewardship plans, maintaining momentum and focus to achieve targets.
- Lead the implementation and delivery of the strategy for the Events and Partnerships teams and work with the Head of Public Fundraising and the teams to develop and review strategies to maximise income from events and partnerships
- Manage partnership pipeline including building opportunities with new businesses to increase the range, value and number of partnerships for The Children’s Trust
- Lead the Events team to review and overhaul our current events programme so that we are maximising net income and ROI as well as meeting the needs of our supporters and local community, and building connections and long-term relationships with our events supporters
- Work across the Retail, Fundraising and Communications directorate to maximise opportunities for contact mapping, cross-sell and support the activity of other teams within the directorate (including but not limited to stock donations, sponsorship of committee-led events, pro bono support, gifts in kind etc.)
- Be responsible for the implementation of the budgets and delivery of income and expenditure against the plans
- Bring the Events and Partnerships teams together to ensure that we are seizing opportunities to integrate the programmes, for instance through corporate sponsorships of events, employee volunteering or participation, donated goods for raffles and auctions, match funding and more
- Develop relationships with colleagues across the Public Fundraising Team, wider directorate and organisation to ensure that opportunities for engagement, integration and promotion of events and partnerships are maximised and publicised

The Children’s Trust is the UK’s leading charity for children with acquired brain injury, providing expert rehabilitation, education, therapy, and care at our national specialist centre in Tadworth, and to children and their families across the UK, via our Brain Injury Community Service.

Rehabilitation of Offenders

Online Searches
