Nursery Practitioner

The Downs Malvern are looking to recruit multiple Nursery Practitioners to be part of our brand new Mini Malvern Nursery for children aged 6 months and up.

The nursery comprises three bright, modern classrooms and two outdoor gardens with adventure play areas, in addition to accessing The Downs Malvern’s beautiful 55-acre site, including a Forest School and a smallholding with pigs, quail, chickens, and sheep.

In this role, you will be responsible for supporting our youngest children and will work closely with the Nursery Manager to ensure the Nursery provision remains at a consistently high standard. You will have a deep knowledge of Early Years Education and a willingness to nurture and support children in their early development.

This role is on a full time basis, 40 hours per week. Mini Malvern is open from 8 am to 6 pm, 49 weeks a year. We close for bank holidays, as well as one week at Easter, one week in August, and one week at Christmas.

The Downs Malvern is a busy, vibrant and successful co-educational preparatory school for boarding and day children up to the age of 13. We have a welcoming staff community and are situated near to Great Malvern on the western slopes of the Malvern Hills.

The Role

The role

As our Financial Controller, you will be at the beating heart of our global finance function, leading the production of insightful reporting and protecting the charity’s assets.

Reporting to the Head of Finance and managing a small team of Finance Assistants, you will:

• Lead our financial planning, budgeting and forecasting efforts – working with Finance Business Partners and colleagues right across our global organisation and influencing our Executive team.
• Manage our accounting, treasury, tax and audit activities – contributing directly and drawing on external advisors as necessary
• Support and develop a small team and manage external providers as we expand internationally
• Help us continuously improve and ensure our controls are effective and proportionate

Who are we looking for?

• A qualified accountant, including those qualified by experience
• Experience producing management accounts and managing financial transaction processing
• Some experience across any combination of VAT, tax, treasury management, budgeting and audit management, with a desire to learn skills across these areas

We are looking for a Tennis Development Officer to support with the development and delivery of our Tennis Programme as our inaugural focus sport. The role combines coaching delivery with desk-based sports administration. We are looking for someone passionate about developing tennis in all forms; an experienced coach who is confident with coaching beginners through to talented athletes.

The post holder will need to ensure high quality tennis coaching for all tennis club activity, including BUCS and LUSL team training. This will be achieved through a combination of direct coaching delivery and coordination of a wider tennis coaching network. They will also support the Sports Administrator with developing relationships with new tennis facility partners, and maintain strong relationships with all key external stakeholders including the LTA. The role holder will also deliver beginner-friendly coaching for our ‘Learn to…’ tennis sessions.

This is an exciting opportunity where you will be involved across our communications and marketing campaigns, focusing on a wide range of global audiences, helping us to target activity using timely, unique and relevant messaging based on preferences and behaviours, supporting both emotional and rational positioning to drive action and engagement.

As Digital Channel Owner you will play a key role in managing a range of digital channels to deliver impactful activity to support our ambitious campaigns. You will be expected to develop close relationships with colleagues, including delivery teams and those based overseas.

In this role, you will:

• Create and deliver content across digital channels (social media, website, email)
• Specialise in multiple digital platforms, becoming an in-house expert across our digital estate, including X, Facebook, LinkedIn, Instagram, TikTok and YouTube.
• Monitor and analyse digital metrics to improve channel effectiveness, advising colleagues on digital best practices
• Stay current with digital communication trends as well as legal and best practices
• Collaborate with colleagues on integrated marketing and communications campaigns, including paid activities
• Ensure data integrity and provide performance reporting, building knowledge to monitor target audiences and industry trends
• Develop and maintain RSC brand consistency across all digital communications
• Collaborate and support Communications team in delivering strategic priorities

What we are looking for:

• Degree level and/or a relevant communications/marketing qualification and/or relevant communications/marketing experience.
• Experience within an organisation of some or all of the following: social media management, digital advertising, content creation, email marketing.
• Experience of using social platforms as digital marketing tools – specifically the range of organic posting methods; social posting tools and measurement; paid promotion and measurement
• Experience of creating and using video on digital platforms, with a professional understanding of video content, video production and best practise for content on YouTube (including – but not limited to – closed captions, SEO tagging etc.)
• Experience creating and publishing content for corporate social media accounts such as X, Facebook/insta reels and LinkedIn, and using social media analytics tools to optimise social strategies.
• Experience of using leading email platforms and marketing automation systems, email automation and trigger/behaviour based email communications.
• Experience in measuring and reporting on the performance of digital content and channels.
• Experience of using website content management systems and knowledge of search engine marketing and SEO (search engine optimisation)
• Demonstrable interest in how the digital environment is evolving and an appreciation of its role in the delivery of effective and efficient organisational communications and marketing, together with an understanding of complementary disciplines such as advertising and ecommerce
