Part 1: Role Purpose:

We are seeking an outstanding Programmes Officer for an exciting opportunity to support Street Child’s programme portfolio in Sierra Leone. The key objectives of this role are to work closely with Street Child’s national partner to support the effective implementation of adaptive programming, and to support accurate and timely donor reporting across a range of institutional, trust & foundations, and corporate donors. The ideal candidate will have strong written and excel skills, with experience of MEAL and financial management processes, and a strong preference for German language skills and experience of working with Bengo funding. The role will include regular, detailed interaction with Street Child’s UK and European fundraising community, in support of donor reporting and future funding opportunities

The role holder will work in close collaboration with Street Child’s regional Head of Programmes, based in Freetown, as well as partner Programmes, MEAL and Finance teams to coordinate timely and quality implementation and reporting across the programmes portfolio.

Part 2: Key Responsibilities:

1) Reporting & Programme Funding Engagement – 35%

• Review narrative and financial quarterly reporting from country teams and provide feedback.
• Lead on the consolidation of narrative reporting (low-mid value donors) for a variety of donors within the portfolio.
• Ensure regular information flow to Street Child communications and fundraising teams, inclusive of collection and drafting of case studies and photos.
• Supporting income-generation opportunities - potentially including supporting donor visits, in-country donor engagement and broad-based support to the group’s global programme-funding efforts for Sierra Leone.

2) Programme & MEAL Management – 35%

• Work in collaboration with national partner and cross-country implementation teams across Liberia and Sierra Leone to ensure quality and timely implementation of project activities.
• Work alongside social, enterprise and education teams across both countries to support a joined-up approach to project implementation and MEAL, ensuring relevant data are collected with due care and utilised for project planning, reporting and learning.
• Provide strong support to programme staff and partners in Sierra Leone in programme and MEAL department.
• Alongside colleagues provide training, guidance and advice to partner delivery staff to ensure effective and accurate use of programme documents and tools.
• In liaison with Safeguarding Focal Points monitor safeguarding policies ensuring adequate implementation of policies and procedures, and support to close feedback loops with partners & project participants.

3) Financial Support – 25%

• Support the country teams in compiling requisitions in line with programme forecasts and budgets.
• Support on the collation of financial reporting requirements for low-mid value donors.
• Support on tracking of donors & match funding.

4) Other – 5%

• Cordinating staff, stakeholders and donor visits.

 What will you be doing?

• Manage the global calendar of donor deliverables for the Development team

• Consistently create and deliver compelling reports and other donor deliverables, according to our grant agreements, including collecting data, writing content, reviewing financial information, and ensuring compliance details.

• Work collaboratively across the Development team, engaging with key stakeholders, to deliver on strategic goals and KPIs.

• Liaise with Program and Finance colleagues to share grant requirements and reporting expectations, build reports and deliver high -quality stewardship items. 

• Work alongside the team to keep an accurate record of donor relationships in Salesforce, including stakeholder information, notes from meetings, reporting and submission deadlines, and correspondence with donor staff 

• Build and develop new relationships with prospective foundation donors and foundation fundraising strategy in collaboration with Senior Manager and Vice President for Strategic Partnerships 

• Represent the organisation, both internally and externally where opportunities arise, including donor visits, public events, and partner convenings 

• Keep abreast and keep the wider team updated of best practices and trends in the philanthropy sector, scoping out strategic opportunities to help us engage new prospective donors

• Contribute to the development of a strong values-based team culture across different countries, areas and streams of work

Salary – UK-based salary range for this role will be £40,000 - £45,000, depending on experience

Weekly hours – 35 hours per week.

We need to create a wilder Hampshire and a wilder Isle of Wight. Wildlife is in freefall both locally and nationally and we need many, many more people on nature’s side if we are to tip the balance in favour of nature’s recovery. 

We need a talented community organiser to work with us on an exciting project to help wildlife flourish in urban areas across Winchester, Basingstoke and Petersfield and bring people together to tackle the climate and nature emergencies, as part of Team Wilder. This person will be working with and supporting communities, individuals, local groups and volunteers across Hampshire. 

The role will focus on catalysing and supporting self-sustaining community led initiatives to support wildlife –this could be anything from greening community spaces or streets, improving areas for particular wildlife such as pollinators, bats, swifts or hedgehogs to setting up groups to tackle problems such as litter or household pollution or influencing others, including local government and businesses, to take action. This role will also require key partnership engagement and the ability to see opportunities to link Wilder to existing and emerging third-party initiatives. This role sits within the Advocacy and Engagement team and will work with others in the team and across the Trust to help build Team Wilder as a key strand of the Trust’s strategy.

Key deliverables of the role:

• Advise the CEO and board on financial strategy and operations.
• Develop and implement the trust’s strategy, providing financial analysis and guidance on all activities.
• Conduct financial due diligence on potential new members of the trust and report recommendations.
• Manage the budget process, ensuring alignment with the trust’s strategic objectives.
• Develop and monitor the trust’s business plan using effective financial and budget modelling.
• Ensure robust financial management through the development and monitoring of financial policies and procedures.
• Manage internal and external audit procedures, ensuring compliance and addressing any recommendations.
• Oversee the trust’s commercial contracts and procurement procedures to achieve financial efficiencies.
• Complete and submit financial returns as required by regulatory bodies.
• Manage the central finance team, ensuring professional development and best practices.

Required Skills & Qualifications:

• Professional accounting qualification (ACA, ACCA, CIMA, or equivalent).
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Accounting, Business Administration, or a related field.
• Proven experience in a senior financial leadership role within a similar sized organisation.
• Demonstrated success in financial planning, analysis, and strategy development.
• Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and inspire teams.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively at all levels.
• Strategic thinker with strong project management skills.
• In-depth knowledge of financial regulations, standards, and best practices.

Background to Rackets Cubed

Rackets Cubed is a thriving young charity formed in 2016. Its purpose is to help primary age children from disadvantaged backgrounds by introducing them to a racket sport, providing additional tuition in a STEM subject, and then giving them a nutritious meal, all in an inspirational setting. We work closely with primary schools in areas of significant deprivation across the UK, and our host sites include sports clubs, universities, local authority leisure centres and selected school sites. 

Rackets Cubed also runs the Community Box Programme. 17 hubs across London and the Midlands providing food parcels to young families that require support. In Roehampton the charity runs a social supermarket that operates as a Community Hub.

Role Purpose

The COO will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the charity and for assisting the CEO in a variety of tasks.

·To run the day-to-day finances of the charity including paying and raising invoices for all charity activities.

·To run HR to include contracts, holiday requests, staff reviews

·To manage and update all policies and procedures

·To maintain good relations with all charity partners, especially schools and host sites and food suppliers, councils etc for our Community Projects.

·To support the CEO with stakeholder relationships with funders, corporate organisations and the Local Council.

Key Tasks include

The successful candidate will be supported by, and be in close communication with the CEO, but will also work with the wider Rackets Cubed Team.

·Process and pay all invoices

·Reconcile invoices and payments on Xero

·Monitor cost of community projects and core programmes

·Reporting on costs

·Responsibility for safeguarding

·HR – producing job descriptions, contracts, updating holiday forms, managing staff reviews

Key Qualifications/Skills

 ·Strong analytical skills

·Super organised. 

·Strong communication skills, both written and oral. 

·A clear interest in, and passion for, supporting underserved communities. 

·Excellent relationship-building and networking skills. 

·Proficiency in Microsoft Office. 

·Some financial experience

·A demonstrated history of working in a team and working independently and striking the right balance between the two.

·The ability to work as part of a team, communicate well, and ensure that administrative processes are properly followed. 

·Highly motivated with a pro-active approach, the ability to solve problems, and adapt to changing circumstances. 

·The ability to prioritise workload and to take on a range of tasks

·A demonstrated history of working in a team and working independently and striking the right balance between the two.

·The role requires 32 hours per week. Regular hours can be fixed (with some flexibility).

Canaan Project are seeking a Director to lead the organisation in to a new season of growing and strengthening our support for young women .

Canaan Project is a charity motivated by Christian ethos and values with a mission to work collaboratively with 11-19 year old girls and young women in Tower Hamlets to see them flourish, have broadened horizons and raised aspirations. We do this by providing experiences and opportunities through innovative approaches to youth work within schools and in the community.

The Director has oversight of the organisations effective running, ensuring it continues to meet its aims and objectives.  This includes having oversight of all Canaan Project operations and activities, in conjunction with the Senior Young Women’s Worker and beingresponsible for the ongoing financial security of the project, fundraising, strategic planning and vision, development of all policies relating to the work including staff and volunteer management, safeguarding, and finance.
