About the Role
We are now recruiting for an experienced Director of Operations to play a crucial role in guiding our driven and committed team as we shift our culture and infrastructure, upholding our vision, mission, principles, and values.
The post holder will work with colleagues to develop, implement and review Hibiscus’s strategy and plans, particularly as they impact our operating and finance models. They will be responsible for developing and monitoring the annual business plan, reporting progress and providing reliable structural, financial and people management. They will support the CEO in building and instilling a sense of unity and purpose into the work of the organisation, and represent the operational work to the Board. They will be responsible for the efficient running of operations and central functions, conducting risk assessments, monitoring performance and reviewing procedures, with a particular focus on overseeing the effective financial management of the organisation.
The successful candidate will be responsible for financial planning and producing financial budgets for the organisation, alongside monitoring projects from start to finish, preparing costings for funding applications, agreeing contracts and grant terms, monitoring deliverables and co-ordinating timely reporting. They will oversee the production of quarterly management accounts and yearly finance audits, and communicate the financial landscape of the organisation to the Senior Leadership Team (SLT) and Board. The Director of Operations will play a key role in risk and compliance, with a focus on data, safeguarding, policies and procedures, and legal and statutory requirements. They will work to increase the effectiveness of our operations, whilst supporting and contributing to the fundraising efforts of the organisation. A key element of the role will be to work to integrate our workplace culture into HR processes and procedures, modelling a fair and open management approach that ensures trusted relationships are embedded throughout the organisation.

About you

The successful candidate will have significant experience of strategic financial planning and managing organisational finances. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a strong understanding of safeguarding, health and safety, data protection, Charity Commission and Companies House requirements, alongside other major compliance areas. This will include demonstrable skills around change management and a strong understanding of risk management. Job Overview
The PA & Assistant Company Secretary will help to ensure that Ben operates within its charity regulatory framework and adheres to best practice in charity governance. We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Poppy Appeal Compliance Officer to join our team. In this role, you’ll play a crucial part in supporting the Poppy Appeal, one of the UK’s largest and most important fundraising initiatives. You will assist in ensuring that all fundraising activities are compliant, enabling us to maximise the creativity and ambition of our supporters and partners. This includes overseeing the end-to-end management of street and house-to-house collections, ensuring compliance with relevant legislation, and working with various local authorities to obtain the necessary permits.

As a Poppy Appeal Compliance Officer, you will work closely with the Poppy Appeal Compliance Manager and the wider Poppy Appeal Support Team to manage licensing processes, maintain accurate records, and ensure that all post-collection reporting requirements are met. As the Senior MEL Officer in the MEL team, you will support the Head of Impact & Learning and the MEL Manager, as well as the Programmes & Impact department and wider team, to measure and analyse the quality and impact of our programming. You’ll use your strong organisation skills, experience in data collection and analysis, and ability to identify key trends and impact in our work. You will also work with colleagues across the organisation to ensure that our impact and expertise in working with women entrepreneurs is measured and communicated accurately and effectively to our Board of Trustees and external stakeholders.
Department purpose
This role sits within the Programmes & Impact department, which is responsible for the development and delivery of our programmes and services, ensuring they are delivered to a high quality, remain responsive to women entrepreneurs’ needs and have demonstrable impact. The department is divided into three teams: Entrepreneurship, which is responsible for delivery of services such as HerVenture and the four ‘Road to’ programmes, Mentoring, which is responsible for development and delivery of the Mentoring Women in Business programme, and MEL, which is responsible for quality impact measurement, analysis and research.
Key responsibilities
Main obligations
- Support the development and implementation of MEL systems and tools across Mentoring and Entrepreneurship projects, providing the Foundation with the necessary information to understand our impact and inform programme improvements.
- Support in collection and analysis of organisational KPIs and provide overall operational support for the MEL team.
Specific responsibilities
- Programme Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning
- Ensure up-to-date programme monitoring and evaluation materials (surveys, data collection tools and theoretical frameworks) are in place for existing programmes as well as those that are in development.
- In collaboration with colleagues in the Mentoring and Entrepreneurship teams, execute the annual calendar of programme and partner surveys, including uploading and testing the surveys.
- Develop analysis plans aligned to key research questions, programme goals and logical frameworks.
- Collect, clean and analyse quantitative and qualitative programme data aligned to programme goals, logical frameworks, organisational KPIs, and general summaries of findings.

The Role

This role will deliver tailored, one to one support and case work to support and resolve both immediate, crisis situations experienced by people and on a longer-term basis in the community. In the main people we support are Irish or of Irish descent including the Traveller Community. However, our services are open to all.

Informing and supporting community-based advocacy, awareness, and public campaigns to inform and increase knowledge and education of the community on how to access help, and the availability of support which is open to people as needs develop. This will attract and support our community by making our services local, appropriate, and accessible to those who mainly do not access mainstream services. This will include advocacy and representative services in order for people to secure welfare benefits, enabling people to access the financial benefits they are entitled to.
This will support people experiencing mental and physical health issues, substance misuse, facing legal issues, those who require debt management, threatened with eviction, domestic abuse, and bereavement. This will be done mainly on an outreach basis across Manchester, supporting people in their own homes, in care homes, hospital and where they are resettled to their home environment.

Role Description
The Chief Finance Officer (CFO) will lead in the development and implementation of the Cathedral's financial strategy and objectives, providing expert financial guidance and support to Chapter and senior colleagues to develop strategy to deliver Chapter's vision. Key Responsibilities

Strategic:

- Support departments across the Cathedral with project development by advising on financial and commercial plans and help develop capital projects and generate business cases and financial forecasts for major developments, undertaking effective tendering for works, and to fulfil the reporting requirements, and their terms and conditions, for donors and grant-making bodies.
- Work with the COO to effectively manage contracts held by the Cathedral (e.g. maintenance, utilities, IT, etc) and ensure value for money.
- Be the lead liaison on the Cathedral’s relationship with our Bankers, Insurers and Investment Managers.
- To support the COO and Director of Enterprises in ensuring that the activities carried out by Enterprises are properly costed, and that all business plans are robust, generating positive returns, with stocks correctly accounted for, reducing the risks wherever possible.

Governance:

The Vacancy

We offer free advice, support, counselling, therapy and group work to adults, children and young people, who have been affected by abuse and trauma and provide trauma-informed care through a range of services designed to foster recovery and empowerment.
You will identify and secure new funding opportunities through a variety of channels. With a focus on securing funding, developing partnerships, and implementing strategies to expand Safety Net's reach and impact, you will be adaptable and flexible particularly in managing deadlines for charity bids and work closely with the Heads of service to achieve our organisational goals.
This role offers a fantastic opportunity for a recent business or marketing graduate or someone with some experience to develop their strategic and development skills within a supportive and impactful environment. As a pivotal member of the team, you will have strong financial and analytical acumen and a strong understanding of budgets, particularly in the context of competitive bids and grant applications.

Proactive contribution to the development and implementation of Safety Net's strategic plan.

Engaging and professionally working with our external comms to support the development and implementation of marketing and communication strategies to raise awareness of Safety Net's services.
