Role Responsibilities:
Strategy, planning and growth
· Track progress against plans and budgets, and support shop teams to adapt, phase and prioritise work where appropriate.
· Ensure that broad and long-term thinking is brought to decision making and avoid reactionary behaviour, whilst capitalising on arising opportunities.
· Support the delivery of a five-year Retail Strategy (2024 – 2028), to include:
o The professionalisation of our systems and processes to capitalise on all income opportunities.
o Putting a positive customer experience at the heart of our approach.
o Delivering income upwards of £2.5m per annum with year-on-year growth to £10.6m by 2028/29.
o Deliver Gift Aid targets across all shops.
o Assist the Retail Development Manager in launching new shops.

o Support fundraising through the shops, including legacy and IG marketing.

Sales and Profit
- Monitor and be accountable for sales and category performance, as well as ensure that the team are aware of and engaged in the area financial performance
- Foster a creative and entrepreneurial environment where team members seek to maximise income in new and innovative ways both within their shops and through a variety of channels, such as community events
- Drive the team to maximise income from Gift Aid on donated products
- Ensure that all financial procedures are adhered to and executed in a timely fashion by the shop teams
Shop Floor
- Ensure sourcing sufficient levels of donated stock locally in collaboration with the shop management and Retail Partnerships team
- Ensure compliance with efficient and commercially successful stock processing systems (such as pricing, quality standards, consumer safety, stock density and culling stock), including backroom systems and ensure these are adhered to by the volunteer team. Ensure that all legal and internal regulations regarding donated stock are adhered to
- Inspire the team to provide a great customer and donor experience, which enables us to attract new supporters every day. Ensure that feedback, including complaints are escalated to the Director of Retail within the agreed timeframes
- Empower the team to work in partnership with the Visual Merchandising Manager to create original, appropriate and commercially successful visual merchandising displays, including shop windows
- Make sure that all procedures for the sale of new and donated corporate products are followed by the volunteer team
- Work with the Director of Retail to ensure our shops are in good condition, maximise their potential and are fit for purpose

The role of Supporter Care Manager is a vital role in our delivery of fundraising services to our client and is a new role created by splitting our current Database & Supporter Care Manager role into two separate roles. This role will focus on the quality of our donor journey, associated communications and the accuracy of our reporting in conjunction with our client’s Finance team.
The Supporter Care Manager will ensure that all processes for recording and thanking donations is accurate, timely and meets regulatory and reporting requirements, whilst providing a friendly and supportive donor experience. - Working with our communications team, pro-actively provide content for external communications to highlight our work, the Team Wilder approach and the work of the communities and groups we are working with.
- Finding creative ways to reach previously underrepresented groups/individuals who may benefit from improved access to nature and who could help to take-action for nature in their communities.
- Supporting and inputting to the Local Nature Partnership Nature and Wellbeing Sub-Group, chaired by Somerset Wildlife Trust, and Somerset Nature and Wellbeing Practitioners Network.
Responsibility 2: Supporting Communities/Groups with Nature Connection for Wellbeing
- Championing the ‘Team Wilder’ approach to help create a movement for nature, sharing skills, experience, knowledge and learning about community organizing within the Trust and through the movement.

Role Purpose

The Head of Fundraising & Events will contribute to the growth of upReach through the raising of significant funds; you will have oversight of income generation from various sources including major donors, individuals, trusts & foundations and a portfolio of events. CORE RESPONSIBILITIES
The Head of Fundraising & Events will support upReach's mission by meeting financial targets, recognising when to make the fundraising ‘ask’ and leading the annual budget process. Reporting to the Director of Income Generation and External Engagement you will manage three direct reports and support individuals participating in the Future Charity Leaders Programme (upReach’s graduate scheme). Our expert team of canine behaviourists provide behavioural support and advice to teams within Battersea, members of the public, and the rescue organisations we work with around the world. You will be working as part of a care group to create behaviour modification plans, support with handling difficult dogs and make recommendations, along with the individual care group, for individual dog outcomes.

This is a new role, as we are looking to appoint our first Fundraising Manager.
Currently, we have a strong programme of Trust and Foundation fundraising, delivered by our CEO and functional managers, and a small programme of individual giving managed by our Communications and Campaigns team but no dedicated fundraising staff.
We are looking for an efficient fundraiser with an understanding of various fundraising strategies, from individual giving to trusts and foundations.
You will have to opportunity to build this role within a supportive and friendly organisation, and as part of our dynamic Communications and Campaigns Team.
