Purpose of this role YMCA Thames Gateway offers support and accommodation to young people in need and children in care. The service aims to help young people develop the skills and knowledge to be able to live independently and improve their life chances. The Head of Support will be the strategic lead of the Young Futures Programme and ensure that accommodation and support services are delivered in a regulatory and contractually compliant way. The role will be the Registered Service Manager. The role will ensure that Key Performance Indicators are being met with accurate reporting to Commissioners. Service improvement plans will be developed and implemented.

We are looking for a skilled and enthusiastic Programme Coordinator to lead our programme for care leavers in Bolton. The programme funded by The Albert Gubay Foundation is in its second year of providing much needed support for care leavers to aide their transition to adulthood.

The activities provide individuals with opportunities to develop essential life skills, increase their wellbeing and create new support networks.

The programme will help individuals to build new friendships, develop aspirations and gain access to a supportive worker who they can approach for advice and guidance.

We are looking for a Programme Coordinator that can be a flexible and committed team player. In return you will have the chance to have creative ownership of this programme, bringing your own skills and ideas to make it an amazing experience for young people to be involved in.

In this role, you will need to be confident in inspiring and engaging care leavers and be able to develop positive partnerships with various stakeholders.

The main activities delivered through this programme include:

• Life skills workshops such as cooking, budgeting, travel training.
• Creative/outdoor activities such as music, cooking, drama, art, sport etc.
• One-to-one support to provide bespoke guidance so young people can overcome barriers to access education, employment and training opportunities.

A key part of the role will be promoting the programme to stakeholders and working to recruit young people. The successful candidate will integrate themselves within the Bolton Leaving Care Service to ensure we receive referrals for the programme.

Key Responsibilities

· Shopping Assistance: Help customers with their shopping needs, ensuring they have access to essential items.

· Light Housework: Perform light cleaning tasks to maintain a safe and comfortable living environment for customers.

· Medical Escort: Accompany and support customers during hospital and GP appointments, ensuring they receive the necessary medical attention.

Employment Details

Contract type

This contracted post is for 21 - 35 hours per week (working day pattern to be decided) and may require some out of hours or weekend work as required.  We welcome application for flexible working including reduced hours and other flexible working arrangements.

The post holder will be mostly based at Across the London boroughs of Hackney, Newham and Tower Hamlets including the Homerton, Newham and Royal London hospitals

Holiday entitlement

About the role

The Head of Fundraising at InFocus is our senior fundraiser. They report to the Director of Income Generation and Business Development (IGBD) who has a varied portfolio that also includes marketing and communications, catering, charity retail, and strategic partnerships. This means that you will be part of a wider team (and all the support that comes with it), but will still have overall responsibility for setting the direction of our fundraising activity.
This appointment comes at a time when we need to consolidate our existing unrestricted fundraising activities and look towards preparing a substantial capital campaign to develop our site.
Our charity receives a large amount of statutory funding and has a relatively small pool of regular supporters and donors. It’s essential that the Head of Fundraising can take a strategic approach to growing income, but particularly through researching and writing quality applications to charitable trusts and foundations (which has typically made up a large part of our fundraising mix).
A Fundraising Relationship Officer is in post and is managed by the Head of Fundraising. They will need to be supported to make sure that we continue to grow our emerging individual, community and corporate fundraising streams.

• Able to respond to victims of and those affected by crime by providing emotional support, information and referral on to Victim Support services and other agencies

About the role:

This role offers help and support directly to victims and survivors of sexual violence, working to the national ISVA framework to provide support throughout victims criminal justice journey, or if they haven't reported the incident to the police, on their own recovery journey.

The role involves regular travel across West Yorkshire, and supporting victims and survivors directly at criminal justice hearings: a driving licence and access to a vehicle is desirable.

The successful post holder will ensure victims and survivors receive ongoing continuity of support, advocacy and impartial advice and information including reporting to the police, accessing Sexual Assault Referral Centre (SARC) services, and specialist support such as pre-trial therapy and sexual violence counselling. The suite of sites includes a significant acreage of the MOD training estate, which is comprised of internationally important lowland heath; there are also an exciting range of fen, woodland, wood pasture, also neutral and acid grasslands within the wider Northern estate. 

The Reserve Officer (North Hampshire) will deliver Countryside Stewardship Scheme and other work plan objectives, working with fellow staff, volunteers, contractors, project partners and the grazing team to implement habitat management activities. Estate management will also include the maintenance of reserve infrastructure and gathering ecological data through working with partners and carrying out surveying when required. 

Alongside the practical and administrative delivery associated with reserve management and general estate management tasks; this role will also be working closely with the wider team to ensure the northern estate and its staff are being as effective as possible, while maintaining a close and supportive relationship with our grazing team.

As a Housing Domestic Abuse Advocate, you will provide intervention, advocacy, and support to survivors of domestic abuse. Working within a fast-paced team, you will help empower women and ensure that the voice of survivors informs every stage of their journey towards improved safety. You will have your own caseload of survivors who hold social tenancies with local authorities or housing associations, and you will encourage them to engage with our service and ensure they have access to support. To be successful as the Domestic Abuse Housing Advocate you will need the below experience and skills:

You will bring solid experience of supporting women who have experienced domestic abuse in all its forms; coming from a sector with transferrable skills or possess a feminist/VAWG degree and be keen to learn and to train on the job. You will have a good understanding of violence against women and girls with a particular focus on the dynamics of domestic abuse (physical, emotional, and sexual abuse, so-called ‘honour-based violence’, forced marriage, stalking and harassment) and its impact on women, children, families, and communities. You will have proven skills and experience in conducting comprehensive assessments of needs and risk for survivors experiencing domestic abuse, including carrying out short risk management and safety planning. We will expect that you have experience in assessing the needs and safety of any children that women using the service may have and an understanding of the criminal justice system and relevant legislation with regard to legal and civil options, housing, benefits, matrimonial and children. Lastly you will bring your knowledge of safeguarding practice, procedures, and legislation.

With many skills and qualities to add to this role, if you have good IT literacy, data collection and monitoring these skills are maximised in your role. We are looking for a Meetings Co-ordinator to join our team.

Are you a great communicator, with first-class organisational skills, and experience of co-ordinating meetings?

Do you have excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to establish rapport, empathise and build trust with Carers from diverse backgrounds.

The Meetings Co-ordinator will lead the co-ordination and development of the five Local Carer Involvement Meetings and be responsible for facilitating/ chairing these meetings.  These meetings are an opportunity for Carers to share their experiences and to come together with practitioners to co-produce solutions to gaps in support. The role involves supporting a network of unpaid Carers in Norfolk & Waveney. You will be helping Carers to have a say on issues that matter to them; strengthening the ‘Carers Voice.’ You will play a key role in outreach, engagement and advocacy, to ensure that Carers Voices are heard.

Main Relationships:

The role will maintain effective connections with: Carers and Past Carers (individuals and groups), Co-production & Project Officer, Membership & Administration Officer, Adult Social Services Operational Business Lead and integrated health and care practitioners, service providers and user-led groups and VCSE organisations and statutory bodies such as Healthwatch Norfolk.

Tasks:

1. Networks / Community Development

1. Lead (operationally) the coordination and development of five Local Carer Involvement Meetings to give Carers a space to share their voice in the design, delivery and evaluation of services and support which affect them, ensuring Carers feel heard and supported.

2. Chair the five Local Carer Involvement Meetings quarterly, providing organisational and facilitation support, including aspects of administration (setting and distributing notes, agendas and documentation and taking forward and reporting back on actions). Minute taking will be provided by another member of staff whenever possible.

3. Develop the membership of Locality Networks to ensure good representation from Carers, Carer peer support groups, practitioners, service managers and commissioners.

4. Building networks between local services and Carers. Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders, including healthcare professionals, social services agencies, and community organisations.

5.  Provide a quarterly report on the Local Carer Involvement Meetings to the County Wide Partnership Board and wider Integrated Care System

This role reports into the People Operations and Systems Manager and is a mixture of remote working and office based.

This is a hands-on position for someone who has already started their career in HR (at least 18 months experience) and therefore has an understanding of HR administrative practices; together with recruitment and payroll support. The role will provide HR administrative support to all departments across the organisation, across various processes including recruitment, onboarding, coordinating logistics for new hires, implementing and tracking data on Bright HR and the preparation of all documents for payroll.
