Horatio’s Garden is an independent charity that nurtures the wellbeing of people after spinal injury in beautiful, vibrant sanctuaries within the heart of NHS spinal injury centres. Leading designers create the accessible gardens where the charity’s team, alongside volunteers and creatives, care for people and plants alike.  

The charity is growing. With seven garden projects open, we have an eighth garden under construction in Sheffield due to open in 2025. After winning ‘Best in Show’ at RHS Chelsea Flower Show in 2023 with a show garden designed for people with mobility needs, the charity’s profile was significantly increased and there are major plans to expand the special events programme to raise awareness and generate sustainable income.

Key responsibilities

· Assist with the administration and coordination of fundraising and stewardship events

· Assist with communications, mailings and guestlist management

· Set up event ticketing

· Update supporter details on the fundraising database

· Support with third party fundraisers including responding to queries, sending out fundraising packs and monitoring income

· Attending events where required including some evenings and weekends

· Perform general office administration tasks

You will act as a friendly, reassuring first point of contact providing support for those seeking our services. About the role:

The Islington Multi-Disciplinary Service is funded by the London Borough of Islington. The service is funded to  support vulnerable residents aged 18 and upwards , with a focus on tenancy sustainment and developing independent living skills. The service works closely with partner agencies across the borough to support clients to maximise opportunities to lead fulfilling lives. Partner agencies include local Housing Departments , DWP , Treatment Agencies and Mental Health Services.

The role of the FSW is to support a caseload of up to 25 clients within a recovery framework. 

The primary focus is on preventing tenancy breakdown, improving quality of life and promoting independence. This can involve helping our clients to maximise or stabilise their income. It could also involve us helping tenants to address other issues such as substance use and mental health problems. 

The role includes hybrid working and will be based in our office in Holloway and at home.

About you:

• Experience/knowledge of supporting clients to carry out tasks such as budgeting , calculating benefit entitlements and understanding rent arrears and housing options.

The Bexley SASS team provides advocacy and support to survivors of domestic and sexual abuse living in Bexley. This includes a package of support covering crisis intervention, risk assessment, safety planning, assessment of needs and individual support planning. A key aspect of the role will be to advocate on behalf of service users pursuing remedies through the criminal and civil justice systems.

About the Role

We are looking for an advocate to join our dynamic team in Bexley, working with survivors who have experienced domestic violence and abuse. You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work. In this role you will work as part of the Bexley Solace Advocacy and Support Service (SASS), providing support to high risk survivors of domestic abuse in the borough. In addition to this, you will work in partnership with local agencies in order to provide the best support for our service users.

About You

The Bexley SASS Team is looking for passionate advocates who understand the importance of working in a trauma-informed way with both survivors and colleagues, who are willing to continuously learn and develop their skills, and who understand intersectionality and the impacts violence against women and girls can have on survivors with intersecting identities.

While prior experience of working with survivors of abuse is desirable, it is not a requirement and if you have transferrable skills and a passion for supporting women and children then we would love to hear from you.

THE ROLE

KEY TASKS

- Within that broader context, and supported by the MA MAPCo Programme Leader, to be responsible for the structure and delivery of the MA Year 3 cohort, including the student assessment processes. Responsibilities include:

Every year, Restore works with over 500 people across Oxfordshire, supporting them on their mental health recovery journey including helping them plan for the future.

The Garden Cafe in Manzil Way is one of Restore’s recovery groups, working with people who have experienced challenges in their mental health to progress their recovery and achieve their goals. By contributing to the running of a working cafe the members build confidence, resilience and work skills, helping them back into work, volunteering and greater social involvement in their communities.

Our friendly and committed team of 45 staff and 100+ volunteers support around 4,000 local older people each year. 

Our Information & Advice service is a central part of our organisation. Our small team of staff supported by excellent volunteers provide free and confidential Information & Advice to older people across the borough on a range of topics. The main area of support is to claim welfare benefits and other forms of financial support – but also includes a range of other topics such as accessing care & support; independent living; sorting out paperwork and housing.

We currently have an excellent opportunity for an Information & Advice Officer / Administrator to join the team. This key role will include:

· Handling phone calls and emails coming into the service, ensuring we are always taking a holistic and responsive approach to dealing with enquiries.

· Completing a range of administration to support the team.

· Giving information and supporting clients with benefit form filling.

· Developing an excellent understanding of the benefit system, the services available to older people and other voluntary groups to give the best possible support.

We are looking for an individual with excellent administration, IT and communication skills with a real will to work with older people  A proactive, flexible and positive approach is also essential, with a keen interest in improving the lives of older people at a local level and a willingness to learn. Experience working in an Information & Advice or adult social care role would be highly useful.

About the role:

We work within a coordinated partnership response to violence against women and girls as part of the Angelou Partnership. Within the partnership ADVANCE provides independent domestic abuse advocacy and support for women, children and young people who have experienced domestic abuse.

The IDVA will work within a dynamic, fast paced, crisis intervention, advocacy, and support service to ensure the voice of survivors informs every stage of the process specialising in working with clients at high risk. They will work within the team to make proactive contact and provide high quality advocacy and support based upon a client led needs and risk assessment to women from aged 13, focusing on working with those aged 18 and over who access the domestic abuse service. They will advise women on criminal justice and civil remedies and related matters, support women to attend court where necessary, and coordinate the provision of multi-agency support. Part of the role will to be to establish positive, proactive, and innovative working relationships with services providing services to clients and partner agencies within the Angelou Partnership. As a Core IDVA will work across the boroughs mentioned above, under the guidance of the team leaders and project manager.

To be successful as the Core IDVA you will need the below experience and skills:

To be successful as a Core IDVA, you’ll need to have an excellent understanding of domestic abuse and its effects on women and children and of best practice within the domestic abuse sector. As an experienced domestic abuse advocate who has worked with complex and multiple needs, you will be skilled in risk management and safety planning, remaining calm in a crisis and in handling sensitive information on a daily basis. Experience of direct work with female survivors of domestic abuse, of supporting women involved in mental health services, and of working within safeguarding procedures is essential for this post, as is the need to adopt and promote a strong partnership approach to service provision.

Support Workers will provide support to customers to help them develop the life skills they require to meet the assessed needs of the customers of the service. This Support Worker role is on a 4 week rolling rota which includes a combination of early (8.00 - 16.00) and late (14.00 - 22.00) shifts including weekends. No sleep in's required.

About the role

You'll be instrumental in ensuring Claire House remains a legacy confident charity.

Taking the lead on the Legacy (Gifts in Wills) and In Memory strategy, you'll make sure supporter journeys, audience insight and effective targeting are always front and centre, by initiating impactful marketing campaigns across a variety of channels.

The nuts and bolts of the job:

• Develop and implement a sector-leading legacy and in-memory fundraising strategy.
• Build relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders, creating legacy leads and converting to legators.
• Be an active member of Fundraising Team Leaders, working collaboratively with colleagues to optimise legacy giving opportunities.
