We’re looking for a senior trusts & statutory fundraising professional to continue this amazing work.

You will have the opportunity to work closely with the CEO (with a particularly strong fundraising background) and across the wider team to develop inspiring bids, tenders and applications.

Head of Fundraising - Trusts & Statutory

Full Time, Permanent (part time considered)

Gloucester with flexible hybrid working

Up to £45,000 per annum

Duties will include:

• Lead on writing bids, tenders and applications (5 & 6 figure),  managing and growing the existing portfolio of trusts, foundations and statutory funding
• Build and develop relationships with a portfolio of potential and strategically important grant, trust & statutory funders
• Maintain and deliver a schedule of applications and reporting to funders, including prospecting for new support opportunities
• Undertake funder research and network mapping, building the donor prospect pipeline and undertaking donor cultivation

Suitable candidates will have:

• Proven record of personally securing 6 figure grants from Trusts, Statutory and other grant-making bodies
• Strong project planning and financial management skills, including planning, forecasting, modelling and performance analysis
• Experience of developing robust cultivation and stewardship plans to build positive, long term relationships with key funders and supporters
• A strategic outlook with the ability to spot opportunities and join up dots between different projects, funder needs and create a compelling narrative around this
• Exceptional written skills, with the ability to write persuasive copy to influence funders to give
• Exceptional inter-personal skills, with the ability to build warm long-term relationships with colleagues across the charity, charity partners and a diverse spectrum of funders

Purpose of the Executive Support Assistant role:

Key duties and responsibilities of the Executive Support Assistant:

We’re looking for a Data Officer to join our growing Young Sounds team. You will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes.

About Young Sounds UK

Young Sounds exists because musical talent is everywhere but opportunity isn’t: family finances and other obstacles too often get in the way. We’re here to change this in two key ways:

• We support young musicians from low-income families with funding and other help;

• We support music education through training, advocacy and research.

We became an Arts Council England National Portfolio Organisation in April 2023 and also joined an expanded cohort of National Youth Music Organisations (NYMOs). We currently support around 900 individual young people across the UK every year and demand for our support is increasing. It’s an exciting time to join a pioneering organisation at the forefront of British music education.

The role

The Data Officer will fulfil an important cross-organisational role, working closely with the team to collate and analyse the data collected through all our programmes. Young Sounds is a reflective organisation. We’ve always invested time and effort in seeking out, understanding and demonstrating the difference our programmes are making. We believe in learning from experience. This is what we mean by evaluation.

Since 2023 we have committed to evaluating all three of our main programmes, each of which tackles a key barrier to young people’s musical progression. Each quarter we review our progress against both our Arts Council England Activity Plan (where measures of success are agreed annually) and the actions we’ve set for each year against each of Arts Council England’s four Investment Principles. We believe that data plays an integral part in telling the story of our work, and we regularly draw upon the information collated through evaluation to update our wider funding base (e.g. Trusts and Foundations) on the work we are doing. The Data Officer will work with the External Evaluator to enable us to report effectively and accurately on our progress to all our funders.

Working relationships

Reporting to the Finance and Operations Director you will also work closely with the External Evaluator, Development Manager, Finance Officer, and other members of the wider Young Sounds team.

About the role

The Music Industry Lead is key to amplifying the work of Nordoff and Robbins through delivering a successful artist/celebrity ambassador program. This role will support the growth of our audiences by aligning high-profile voices with our events portfolio, marketing campaigns, and press opportunities, consistently increasing the reach of the charity. It also supports the understanding of our work by identifying media opportunities to tell our stories in collaboration with the engagement and communications team.

Strong interpersonal skills are essential to keep our ambassadors informed and engaged in our work as well as identifying and onboarding new voices who can champion our cause and grow our audience

The Music Industry Lead is part of the Music Industry team reporting into the Head of Music Industry. The post holder will be responsible for maintaining music industry relationships, identifying, recruiting and stewarding all artists, VIPs and celebrities to support the work of Nordoff and Robbins through an all year-round ambassador engagement programme that also generates income from artist led activities.

About the role

The Head of Fundraising at InFocus is our senior fundraiser. They report to the Director of Income Generation and Business Development (IGBD) who has a varied portfolio that also includes marketing and communications, catering, charity retail, and strategic partnerships. This means that you will be part of a wider team (and all the support that comes with it), but will still have overall responsibility for setting the direction of our fundraising activity.
This appointment comes at a time when we need to consolidate our existing unrestricted fundraising activities and look towards preparing a substantial capital campaign to develop our site.
Our charity receives a large amount of statutory funding and has a relatively small pool of regular supporters and donors. It’s essential that the Head of Fundraising can take a strategic approach to growing income, but particularly through researching and writing quality applications to charitable trusts and foundations (which has typically made up a large part of our fundraising mix).
A Fundraising Relationship Officer is in post and is managed by the Head of Fundraising. They will need to be supported to make sure that we continue to grow our emerging individual, community and corporate fundraising streams. 

About you

You will have practical experience in trusts and foundations, and be prepared to step into a leadership role in a small but friendly team. You’ll need to be a confident communicator with donors and supporters, as well as a diverse staff team spread across our large campus at the edge of Exeter (and six charity retail stores).
You will be confident in balancing strategic planning with practical tasks (which will include preparing materials and applications to trusts and foundations).
You may already have leadership experience, or you may be stepping up into a more senior role for the first time. Either way, you will have the support of the Director IGBD, CEO and colleagues from across the InFocus team.

THE ROLE
To direct, manage and oversee the Programme Leaders of the College’s Counselling Programmes, and to ensure that the quality of the research, teaching, learning and assessment strategies of the programmes is maintained at an excellent standard. To contribute to the college’s Strategic Leadership Team. This role will include some temporary cover of our PG faculty until February 2025.

KEY TASKS
To be responsible for:

- Directing, line managing and overseeing the Programme Leaders of the College’s Counselling Programmes;
- Collaboratively working alongside the Academic Dean and Strategic Leadership Team (SLT) to assure that all programmes are delivered at an excellent standard;
- Championing and encouraging the enhancement and research and development of innovations to existing counselling programmes, as well as the creation of new counselling courses and programmes;
- Collaboratively working alongside Programme Leaders and ensuring their continuous professional development in their field of study, as well as enabling them to achieve AdvanceHE status (i.e. AFHEA, FHEA, SFHEA;)
- Ensuring that Programme Leaders are providing effective management of their programmes to an excellent standard;
- Collaborating with the Academic Dean and Chief Finance Officer in the setting of budgets, and then the successful management of those budgets by Programme Leader in the counselling faculty;
- Assuring that Waverley Abbey Trust vision, mission and values are communicated and upheld within the faculty, and that staff are enabled to align with them;
- Assure that the student voice is heard, and that Student Representatives are consulted appropriately in order to assure that teaching, learning and assessment processes are of an excellent standard, and that student well-being is optimised;
- Facilitating monthly departmental meetings with all Programme Leaders, and to ensure that Programme Leaders fulfil their responsibilities to lead their programmes.

OTHER RESPONSIBILITIES
To be responsible for:

- Ensuring that all training is in line with academic and professional requirements as appropriate;
- Assuring the integrity and ethos of the Waverley integrative framework and consistency with all Undergraduate (UG) and Postgraduate (PG) Programmes;
- To oversee and organise yearly reviews of all UG and PG programmes, reviewing programme teaching, learning and assessment strategies and contributing to the Universities’ EMER yearly return;
- To assure the planning of minor changes to all programmes as required, ensuring that modules are up to date with the latest scholarship and professional practice, and at the appropriate point in the validation agreement with the university to prepare the programme for revalidation;
- To be responsible for staff discipline, grievances and complaints, and to deal with them in consultation with the Academic Dean, and in line with college policies;
- To determine staff resource allocation requirements, and to advise the Academic Dean/ Principal of staffing requirements if new staff members need to be recruited to fulfil specific roles;
- To conduct two appraisals of Programme Leaders each year, as well as assuring that Programme Leaders conduct two appraisals a year with their programme staff;
- To work closely with Programme Leaders to oversee and assure the welfare, spiritual well-being and psychological safety of students, within the parameters of the course;
- To attend some residential training teaching blocks and some weekday blocks;
- To continue their own personal professional development through professional conferences, further education, training and engagement in peer reviewed research and publication in journals;
- To maintain a personal counselling caseload (e.g., in private practice or at an agency) in accordance with the highest standards required by professional bodies, including having professional indemnity insurance, clinical supervision, and any other requirements in accordance with the context of the practice (e.g., DBS check);
- Attendance at Waverley Abbey College Team meetings, Academic Boards, Programme Boards, Assessment Boards and events such as Graduation Days;
- To attend two college-wide all staff training days per year;
- To be, or become, a Senior Fellow of the Higher Education Academy;
- To have BACP/ ACC full membership, or other recognised professional body;
- Any other reasonable duties as requested by the post-holder’s line manager;
- To ensure that Programme Leaders work collaboratively with the college office team, so that all programme related matters, such timetables, learning materials for moodle, assessment questions, assignment marking, preparation for all college meetings, as well as university assessment boards etc. are successfully fulfilled;
- To work collaboratively with the Academic Dean and Academic Registrar for all Assessment Boards, ensuring that college procedures and policies are adhered to fairly and properly;
- To attend Programme Voice groups;
- To attend Programme Leaders’ meetings;
- To interview some potential students for entry on to the college’s counselling programme;
- To ensure that programme leaders maintain a strong collaborative relationship with the college’s Admissions Team;
- To consult with the college’s marketing team to ensure that all programme marketing materials are an appropriate representation of the college’s programme, and do not represent a negative impact on the college’s reputation with bodies, such as BACP, or ACC et al.

The Hummingbird Project is a youth-centred organisation that aims to provide trauma-informed services and promote youth-led action that is underpinned by our shared belief in human rights.

Our services support young refugees, between the ages of 14 and 25, many of whom arrived in the UK as unaccompanied children. The project is based in Brighton and works with those living in the city and across East and West Sussex.

As well as our direct services for young people, we actively campaign for the rights and protection of young refugees at a local and national level.

Our vision is a community standing together for the rights and protection of young refugees.

The Youth Service Manager will play a key role in ensuring services are delivered to a high standard and that the young people we support have the care and services they need, as well as a voice in decisions that affect them.

The role incorporates line management for service leads, including support and advice where individual cases are particularly challenging and/or complex. It will support the overall management and the delivery of our high-quality services through regular supervision and coaching of project leads, as well as contributing to developing new services and monitoring and evaluating activities.

Muslim Aid is a UK faith-based international development organisation that provides support to communities around the world affected by disasters, conflict, or endemic poverty without regard to their social, religious, or ethnic background. 

Established in 1985, Muslim Aid has facilitated the engagement of the British Muslim and non-Muslim community in support of its work in a variety of ways. • Quality Assurance: Assisting the MEAL Manager in developing and implementing effective MEAL systems to ensure quality service delivery across all programmes.

You will play a crucial role in this newly formed unit, working closely with partners, country offices, and donors to improve systems within the IPD and support the dynamic global programme portfolio of Muslim Aid.

About the Role:

1.  Lead donor mapping process for Trusts and Foundations. Continuously, update this mapping document regularly based on engagement with prospective donors.
2. Lead the proposal/concept development process for T&F and MA Partner offices submissions.
3. Support the Global Programme Development and Quality Assurance Manager in managing a portfolio of institutional donor grants relationships and implement donor engagement strategies for prioritised donors (including FCDO, UN agencies, USAID, SIDA, START Network, etc.).
4. Support the Monitoring Evaluation Accountability and Learning (MEAL) Manager to strengthen MEAL system globally. This includes ensuring high-quality data tracking progress, analysing data, and generating knowledge and documentation of best practices.
5. Work with Country Offices, Global Programme Development and Quality Assurance, Humanitarian and Programme units to support on disaster responses and associated appeals.
6. Support the unit in providing the development and implementing capacity development workshops for the IPD team, country offices, and partner offices either face to face or virtually.

About You:

To be successful in this role, you will need:

1. Educated to bachelor’s degree level.
2. Experience of successfully fundraising and dealing with institutional donors and international donors with a focus on Trusts and Foundations.
3. Experience and understanding of monitoring and evaluation of programmes; using quantitative and qualitative research data collected in support of programme development.
4. Significant experience and knowledge of effective budgetary control and grant management.
5. Good interpersonal and communication skills and ability to liaise effectively with people at various levels. Good tact and diplomacy at all times.
6. Strong and well-developed analytical skills coupled with strong bid and report writing skills.

White Gables is a 24-hr crisis service, supporting people experiencing a mental health crisis and working to a recovery model.  We provide a range of support services for people with mental ill health to access in their local community, including outreach support, peer support and supported housing. As the Manager of our Integrated Sexual Health Service (ISHS) in Hertfordshire you will lead a team of five staff to deliver a dynamic sexual health education and prevention service. You will work with colleagues from the NHS, pharmacies and community stakeholders to deliver in local communities, ensuring better sexual health outcomes for the local population.  You will work with the METRO training and communications team to ensure the delivery of that METRO’s services are communicated across a wide range of targeted audiences, and that a high standard of training programmes for professionals and service users are delivered. The services you will oversee consist of a condom distribution scheme, the National Chlamydia Screening programme (NCSP), sexual health promotion and campaigns, training and education and support for schools and colleges.

METRO is working in partnership with Central London Community Healthcare Trust (CLCH), to deliver our ISHS in Hertfordshire. In this contract, the METRO team will be fully integrated and co-located within CLCH’s services in Hertfordshire, delivering outreach activities in the local community tailored to local needs. The service aims to reach those who are most vulnerable or at risk, and involves collaboration with local outreach organisations targeting LGBTQ+ people, speakers of other languages, young people, and those living in more deprived areas.
