About the vacancy
In this role, you will support a steering group of volunteer parents and carers who oversee the running of the Forums. Your excellent organisational skills will ensure parents and carers have a voice at key local meetings, plus you will arrange monthly events for parents and carers such as workshops with key local decision-makers. You will provide opportunities for parents and carers to develop their own networks of support through WhatsApp & social media, and oversee the publication of bi-annual newsletter. Each year, you will use your analytical skills to measure the impact the Forum is having on the lives of its members and recommend areas for development to the steering group, always seeking to improve the service and reach more families.
You will line-manage a Forum Administrator who will support you and the work of the Forums.
This important role forms part of our charity’s strategic offer to local parents and carers. You will join our senior team plus you’ll have the opportunity to contribute to the wider work of the charity such as by attending fun community fundraising activities, working with our partners, and enjoying our social events.
You will receive our mandatory training in safeguarding, health & safety, confidentiality, equal opportunities & diversity and mental health, plus more technical training including risk assessment and first aid.

Your role:

We are on the search for a creative and proactive Learning and Development Specialist who will join our HR Learning and Development team.
Reporting to HR Learning and Development Lead. The purpose of this role is to provide support with development programmes, training initiatives, and carrying out administration duties.
The Learning and Development (L&D) Facilitator plays a key role in enhancing the skills and capabilities of our employees by coordinating and implementing effective training programs.
This role supports the planning, organisation, and execution of L&D initiatives, ensuring that employees have the necessary tools and knowledge to excel in their roles and contribute to the company’s overall success.
The L&D Facilitator works closely with internal teams to deliver engaging and impactful learning experiences, tracks training progress, and provides administrative support for all L&D activities.
Role Responsibilities
You will be responsible for creating and delivering engaging content to our employees across the business, and you will play a key role in driving forward our Equality, Diversity, and Inclusion training through learning programs working closely with our EDI Co-Ordinator.
The role also comes with administration responsibilities, and you will be responsible for scheduling courses and working on our learning management system (LMS). You will also be involved in projects such as delivery of induction programmes, safeguarding training and equality, diversity and inclusion training
Through continuous learning and development efforts, this position aims to foster a culture of growth, development, and employee engagement within the organisation.
This role is a hybrid role and there will be an expectation to travel to London once or twice a month, which is inclusive of your salary. If you are required to travel further, then this will be covered by expenses. The role is offered on a part-time basis of 28 hours over 4 days a week, this will be open to discussion.
The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for individuals who have excellent communication and facilitation skills who are adaptable and who are passionate about learning and development.

- Experience designing and delivering engaging training sessions, especially for managerial audiences
- Strong communication and presentation skills with the ability to engage participants at different levels
- Creative approach to content creation and training delivery, ensuring a dynamic and interactive experience
- Experienced in delivering training in a Face-to-Face setting and virtually.
- Understanding of diversity and inclusion and the ability to promote these values through learning and development activities
- Ability to work independently and prioritise tasks effectively
- Strong organisational skills and attention to detail
- The ability to organise and prioritise workloads effectively.
- Comfortable in using a Learning Management System (LMS), e-learning tools, and other technology to design, deliver, and track learning programmes, and an understanding of Ms Office 365
- Experience in developing pre-coursework documentation guides for training
- Previous experience in a similar L&D role, with a track record of successfully implementing training courses.
- Ability to think creatively to design engaging and impactful training solutions.
- Comfortable with experimenting and trying new approaches to make learning more interactive, enjoyable, and effective.

Eligibility:
To be eligible, you will need:
· An undergraduate bachelor's degree with honours, or equivalent.
· A GCSE grade 4/C or above in English and maths, or equivalent.
· Primary school trainees will need a GCSE grade 4/C or above in science, or equivalent
· By the start of the training, successful candidates must have permission to work in the UK full-time for the duration of the programme.

Tuition fees:
All trainees will need to pay tuition fees unless you are a salaried trainee - salaried places are limited. Tuition fees are £9,535 for full-time study and £7,145 per year for part-time study. If you are eligible for a student loan in the UK, you can get a student loan to cover these costs, as well as a maintenance grant up to £13,762.
If you want to train as a secondary trainee teacher, you may be able to apply for funding to cover the costs of your tuition fees through a bursary or scholarship, which you would not need to pay back.
Funding:
We offer a few salaried placements, but if you do not choose a salaried teacher training course, and depending on your subject choice, you may be eligible to receive funding through a bursary or a scholarship up to £31,000, which you do not have to pay back. What you’ll be doing:
As a Training and Development Officer, you will be working directly with teachers and other education staff supporting their journeys in taking curriculum learning and play outside and to utilise their school grounds. You will deliver LtL’s training and projects within diverse communities across a significant geographical area. This role is part of our exciting new climate change education initiative. What you’ll need:
· Experience of delivering projects with diverse communities
· Experience of training and advising educational staff in primary or secondary schools.
· Experience of delivering outdoor nature-based and curriculum linked learning activities
· A passion for nature
· Experience of producing written materials; educational resources, reports, and similar project related communications
· Competent IT skills (particularly Microsoft Office, Teams and Outlook)
· Excellent planning and organisational skills with the ability to manage and deliver a varied workload
· Excellent problem-solving skills and ability to find creative solutions
· Good interpersonal skills
· An understanding of the role safeguarding plays in education
· Ability to work from home or suitable office-type venue
