Job Summary

The Senior Philanthropy Manager will play a key role in advancing Anthony Nolan’s mission by managing major gift fundraising efforts. This role is responsible for cultivating and stewarding relationships with HNWIs, and key stakeholders. The Senior Philanthropy Manager will develop and implement tailored fundraising strategies, collaborate with senior leadership to identify opportunities. The successful candidate will have exceptional strategic thinking and relationship building skills to maximise philanthropic support and drive long-term impact.

THE ROLE

We are looking for a motivated and passionate Director of Finance and Operationsto join our team, to provide strategic and financial leadership and support to Climate Spring as it continues to grow

Key responsibilities:

• Strategic leadership on all finance and operational matters affecting Climate Spring’s activities
• Manage and oversee the organisation’s budget in line with the organisation’s strategy
• Support the Executive Director and Director of Impact with fundraising strategy and funder management.
• Oversee the financial management of the organisation
• Provide financial and operational leadership for the organisation’s establishment of a new production fund
• Prepare and present financial reports for board and funders.
• Manage relevant internal and departmental operational developments
• Oversee the organisation’s operations, ensuring effective and inclusive practices and policies
• Oversee the organisation’s HR policies and practice
• Supporting the Executive Director in reporting to the board and ensuring effective governance

Minimum role criteria:

• 10+ years of experience working in philanthropic, social investment or charity sector with significant leadership experience.

Battersea is entering an exciting phase of innovation and transformation as we embark on the first year of our new five-year strategy. Our fundraising team bridges the journey of the animals in our care with the wider public, demonstrating how their contributions enable us to support every dog and cat. This is a new role working across Battersea’s Income Generation department, in particular Philanthropy, Partnerships and Commercial (PP&C), to help drive income growth and maintain strong funder relationships. 

As part of this role, you will work primarily on information gathering and management, and the creation of inspiring cases for support, funding propositions and impact reports. You will keep fundraisers informed of updates and progress in key projects and areas of work, supporting funder meetings by providing up to date information. You will also help us explore more creative ways of delivering cases for support, funding propositions and impact reports, so that we stand out from other organisations.
