The Upper Room (TUR) works with a wide range of financially and socially disadvantaged groups including homeless people, people with long-term mental health conditions, asylum-seekers, refugees and ex-offenders – helping them to improve their lives and become productive members of society. Central to our offering is our UR4Meals service, providing free, home-cooked food to people who cannot afford to provide for themselves. We are also very proud of our UR4Driving programme, which supports people recently out of prison with free driving lessons in exchange for community volunteering. Gaining a driving licence greatly enhances their future employability prospects and helps break the cycle of re-offending. The role
As Senior Programmes Officer you will closely with our peacebuilding partners to help deliver an ambitious new programme of work. 'Local First: Transforming the Peacebuilding System' will support local peacebuilders in Mali, Afghanistan, Sudan and eastern DRC to increase prospects for sustainable peace.
Through Local First, Peace Direct will work with policymakers and power holders, supporting them to understand the dysfunctions of the peacebuilding system, and find ways to better support locally-led peacebuilding.

You will work closely with our other SPOs who manage partnerships in the four countries, and create and manage opportunities to bring partners together to learn from one another. As Exams Assistant you will support the day to day running of the examinations with a particular focus on question bank management. You will be working with the Examinations Team and examiners across all specialties. This will include supporting examiner panels to organise and run question writing sessions and ensuring that question banks remain up to date.

ABOUT THE ROLE
We are seeking a Programmes Coordinator/Facilitator to join the Safe Ground team in HMP Lowdham Grange, Nottingham and take the lead in the effective setup, delivery, and evaluation of Safe Ground's programmes. The role involves delivering arts-based interventions aimed at supporting participants in their personal development, family relationships, and rehabilitation. You will be based at HMP Lowdham Grange, where you will develop collaborative partnerships with colleagues at the Visitors' Centre, as well as with key prison teams, wing staff, and, most importantly, the programme participants.
SIG Safe Ground is a nationally recognised and award-winning arts organisation, specialising in the design and delivery of impactful, arts-based therapeutic group interventions. With nearly three decades of experience, we have established ourselves as leaders in transforming lives within both prison and community settings. Our evidence-based programs are known for their artistic high quality and adaptability, offering flexible delivery options and bespoke solutions tailored to the specific needs of each service.
You will be required to undertake additional training and vetting as per the requirements of the prison.
Hours/Shift Pattern: 37.5 hours Monday to Friday 09:00 - 17:00, hours may vary dependent on needs of the service.

ABOUT YOU
We're looking for someone with a passion for arts-based interventions, you will see relationships as central to personal development and be creative in your approach to positively influence and persuade others. You will be able to use group work, arts, and drama techniques to support participants to rehearse new behaviours and experience alternative perspectives. You will have excellent communication skills, and support skills.
What we are looking for:
- Background in arts education, dramatherapy, applied theatre or equivalent
- Practical experience and/or knowledge on group work facilitation
- Experience of working with and engaging with diverse groups of people from varying backgrounds
- IT proficiency, able to learn new software. Confidence in Microsoft packages
- Resonance with Safe Ground and Social Interest Group values
- Understanding and/or experience working with therapeutic groupwork techniques, be able to deliver this to others
- Ability to follow organisational policies and process in line with external governance
What we would like, but not essential:
- Previous experience within a prison or other criminal justice setting and/or within a similar role
- Previous experience in a similar organisation/industry/role
- Understanding/experience working with therapeutic groupwork techniques
- Ability to positively persuade, empower, and influence others
OVERVIEW OF KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
- Create and deliver engaging high-quality programmes which support rehabilitation, reintegration, and reablement for participants within the prison at various stages of their personal journey.
- Coordinate all aspects of promotion, recruitment and evaluation of programmes.
- Develop content and deliver this to different learning needs and styles.
- Co-Facilitate workshops and activities to support rehabilitation, combining arts-based interventions with course delivery.
- Collect and manage feedback, using this to continuously improve content and programmes.
- Support with all aspects of risk management, information management, and case recording as needed.
- Admin will vary.
Other responsibilities than those described above may be required to be undertaken from time to time and will be expected to be performed to as long as it is within the capability and level of the position.

The Head of Proposition Development will lead a newly created team that will provide compelling opportunities for donors to support initiatives across the National Trust and will deliver a step change in the approach to propositions.
