The Association of Directors of Public Health (ADPH) is looking for a new permanent, full-time Project Administrator.

The successful candidate will across the ADPH team to support the development and delivery of successful work programmes and provide high quality administration for projects, events and programme business as usual across the whole team. 

Candidates must be comfortable working independently in an administrative role and have experience of successful remote working.

ADPH is a Charity and Company Limited by guarantee and is the representative body for Directors of Public Health (DPH) in the UK. 

It seeks to improve and protect the health of the population through collating and presenting the views of DsPH; advising on public health policy and legislation at a local, regional, national and international level; facilitating a support network for DsPH; and providing opportunities for DsPH to develop professional practice. 

The Association has a rich heritage, its origins dating back more than 160 years. It is a collaborative organisation working in partnership with others to maximise the voice for public health.

The role

We are seeking an exceptional Associate Director of Programme and Impact to join the Centre for Early Childhood senior leadership team. Reporting to the Centre’s Executive Director, and working closely with Royal Foundation and Kensington Palace teams, you will play a key role in designing and implementing our ambitious programme of work to drive action on the extraordinary impact of early childhood.

You will combine optimistic and creative leadership, with a rigorous, collaborative and hands-on approach, to support the delivery of existing programmes and the design of new ideas from concept to launch. This will involve working with stakeholders from right across the system around children and the adults in their lives, including health, education, business, and voluntary and community sectors.

The role requires cross-sector experience, broad subject-matter expertise, and an ability to make sense of a complex evidence and policy landscape for a range of audiences - to support strategic decision-making and prioritisation, as well as to ensure the quality of our day-to-day work. You will provide sound counsel to internal and senior stakeholders, and be a trusted, credible voice when engaging externally.

You will provide expert oversight of the Centre’s research plans and activities, ensuring our programme of work is evidence-informed and that we can evaluate our impact. You will be adept at taking a brief and working with a range of perspectives to develop high impact programmes and products, and skilled in leading cross-functional teams to deliver to the highest quality.  As Chief Revenue Officer, you will play a key role in realising the charity’s vision and mission of expanding its activities and impact. The overall purpose of the role is to lead the development and implementation of the charity’s revenue strategy, collaborating with cross-functional teams to optimise existing revenue streams, identify new business opportunities, and drive the organisation's overall growth and sustainability.

Key responsibilities include:

• Establishing short, medium, and long term income targets and business plans in line with the charity’s strategy and growth ambitions.
• Providing oversight of the charity’s current and future income streams, their relative value, impact and sustainability
• Development and execution of revenue generation tactics including sponsorship, business and charity of the year partnerships, commercial sales & licensing, government contracts, lottery funding, trusts & foundations, and individual giving
• Business development within the charity and through its trading subsidiary harnessing existing properties and developing new assets.
• Maximising the charity’s intellectual property and pursue a pipeline of new business opportunities, partnerships, and alliances.
• Working across the senior leadership team to develop new properties and partnerships which generate revenue for the charity while contributing to the mission, and aligning with charitable objectives.

The successful candidate will have a track record in establishing and growing revenue streams and organisational income, with proven experience in diverse leadership roles, driving and implementing revenue growth. Experience in a senior leadership role driving revenue growth is key, for example from activity, commercial activity, corporate partnerships, commissioned services and fundraising and demonstrated experience in business development, sales, and customer/member retention is a must.

About the Service

The Sexual Health project was piloted in Islington in 2020 and the project has since been expanded and now covers Camden, Haringey and Barnet. We continue to provide high-quality holistic support to survivors of domestic abuse and sexual violence who approach the sexual health clinics based in these boroughs. As with all Islington SASS services, the Sexual Health project is inclusive to all survivors, but this project has a specific focus on increasing the engagement for LGBTQ+ survivors.

About the Role

We are looking for a Sexual Health Independent Domestic and Sexual Violence Advocates to sit in the Islington SASS team and co-locate in Barnet and Islington Sexual Health Clinics. As an IDSVA you will provide immediate support for victim/survivors of domestic and sexual abuse attending the clinic including carrying out risk and needs assessments, safety planning and providing short-term support and onward referrals. In addition, you will act as the Sexual Health lead for Solace for Barnet and Islington, providing advice and guidance to Solace staff and Sexual Health professionals.

The Sexual Health IDSVAs also hold a caseload providing one-to-one support to high-risk victims/survivors at the point of crisis as well as those at standard and medium risk levels, co-ordinating multi agency support and providing practical solutions.

You will be working as part of a multidisciplinary team and collaborating with external agencies in your work.

Additional Information

• There may be occasional instances where you'll need to cover at Kidbrooke or Croydon, but this won't be often and you'll be given advance notice.

The Commercial Strategy Team is responsible for driving the department's 5-year growth strategy through data, insights and business development and we are now looking to grow the team to help us meet our ambitious goals.

We are recruiting for a Business Development Officer to join the team to help us identify and secure new customers across our online learning, trainer-led courses and consultancy service as well as support the work of the wider Business Development team. This role will give you the chance to change the future for thousands of children.

About the role

The key aspects of the role:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities to agreed targets and KPIs
• Take the lead on business development campaigns for key sectors
• Progress new business enquiries, delivering key activities including providing quotes and product demos
• Conduct high quality industry and prospect research to grow the new business pipeline, proactively generating leads to agreed targets
• Attend conferences and events to raise awareness of Professional Learning Services to key audiences

We are looking for someone with: 

• Experience in a business development, sales or fundraising role, either in the charity sector or in the commercial sector
• Track record of successfully identifying and securing new business opportunities
• Experience of researching and managing a prospect pipeline
• Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal communications skills
• Experience of working with one or more commercial sectors, education or sport would be beneficial

Working environment and benefits

Whilst the role is primarily home based, there is an expectation for the successful candidate to regularly travel to other parts of the country for events, conferences, client meetings, team meetings, training and to support the wider team. Therefore, this role is suited to candidates on the UK mainland only.

What will I be doing?

• Working with the MFE Product Manager - Sports, account managing and developing various high-value relationships with 3rd party event partners across the portfolio 

• Inform the development of the Sports Team PR and social communications plan with particular focus on our key events

• Proposing stretching sponsorship income and recruitment targets 

• Responsible for creating and managing Sports Team web pages and social media pages and producing innovative and bespoke content that is user friendly across all devices and briefing in social priorities

• Working in collaborate with our Event Delivery Team to support the planning and delivery of "On the day experiences", working with our operation teams and 3rd party event organisers to coordinate this

• Managing annual cycle of each event within portfolio including managing the online registration platforms, updating event pages, opening/closing events and fulfilling on-the-day activities at events 

• Through sector networking & tracking, establishing a solid understanding of our competitors and regularly conducting analysis that can be used to benefit the Sports Team as a whole

• Develop internal relationships with multiple teams across Cancer Research UK to maximise our internal Sports Team brand

• Play a key part in our Cancer Research UK on the day team for a number of Sports events (on weekends) nationally - such as the VM London Marathon and the Great North Run.

What skills will I need?

• Experience working with event entry systems

• Experience managing relationships with external stakeholders and influencing them in order to advance individual or organisational goals

• Ability to manage challenging stakeholders effectively

• Experience of managing website content and using CRM systems

• Experience of developing and delivering new business opportunities

• Good strategic thinking skills 

• Proficient in Microsoft Office and experience working with IT databases 

• Good analytical and reporting skills 

• Proven ability to manage own time effectively and can work well under pressure

• Proven ability of agreeing and meeting financial targets 

• Willing to work some unsociable hours, travelling extensively and staying away from home during the event delivery season when necessary.
