About the Role:

This role is a hybrid working role and is based at our office in Shoreham-by-Sea for a minimum of one day a week. As a Senior Caseworker in the Hate Crime Team you will:

• Effectively lead and develop a high quality, innovative and pro-active hate crime service for victims and witnesses.
• Manage a team of specialist hate crime caseworkers, providing regular supervision, case management review and support.
• Have experience in working with vulnerable adults and/or families
• Ensure that services are delivered in accordance with the service specification and performance targets set by the services funders, in line with Victim Support's policies, procedures, business process and plan.

We are excited to advertise a new post for our growing employment and learning support service - The Greater Manchester Education, Training and Employment Service (GM ETE).  Our delivery will support the Probation Service’s service users into quality learning and employment opportunities. 

If you have experience of working with disadvantaged people, people on probation or prison leavers - we would love to hear from you.

The job will involve working with people in prison to engage them in learning, training and employment opportunities, both through one-to-one and group work. You will be based in both HMP Hindley and Forest Bank.

You’ll need to be proactive, a good communicator and able to manage your own caseload.  The successful candidate will have experience and/or skills to deliver group work to people who have faced disadvantages.  You will be effective at working with partner organisations to ensure the best results for our participants. Recording of accurate information on participant plans is an important part of the job, so you’ll need to be comfortable working on databases and systems and have a strong attention to detail. 

Together with the prisoner, you will set an action plan, arrange ETE goals for custody and appropriate plans for when he/she is released.

You will make plans with the community-based Key Worker for a handover, arranging for a 3-way meeting upon release in their local probation office, which might be in any of the 10 boroughs of Greater Manchester. You will be paid for any accrued travel expenses.

Essential job duties

· Complete initial assessment appointments with all new referrals.

· Create action plans outlining activities to be undertaken with service users.

· Motivate service users to engage with the programme and attend appointments.

· Effectively case manage service users.

· Deliver interventions as outlined in the action plan.

· Signpost service users to specialist support organisations for further support.

· Tailor support to suit service user needs and learning styles.

· Effectively liaise with Probation Practitioners and prison staff.

· Attend a prison several days a week, engaging with potential new participants.

· Liaise with the prisoner’s Probation Practitioner, asking for a referral via HMPPS case management system.

· Attend the prison resettlement boards.

We are especially looking for applicants who can connect with people to help move them forward, can network with partner organisations and research new opportunities for the people on your caseload. As well, you will have the skills to work towards individual performance outcomes.

We’ll give you all the training you need to do the Key Worker job and provide you with support to get established in the new role.

Employment is subject to successful Enhanced Level 1 clearance via Shared Services Connected Limited (SSCL), which is the vetting required of all probation and prison-based staff. This will be arranged with you.

About the Role

The Finance & Administration Assistant is a newly created role that will provide various parts of the organisation with administrative support, as well as some receptionist duties. This dynamic role will sit within the Finance team and report to the Director of Finance, however it will directly support the areas of Administration, Finance, Fundraising, and three different Service Delivery functions.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities

Administrative tasks

• Manage external communications through post, telephone and email, ensuring information is redirected to the relevant person to be dealt with efficiently and effectively.
• Support service/department managers with necessary purchasing.
•  Keep up to date record of monthly invoicing information for services and liaise between the Senior Finance Officer and the Service Managers to ensure this system is running efficiently and effectively.

Finance related tasks

•  Manage Petty Cash transactions on site, ensuring accurate and up to date records are kept at all times, and perform the bank runs.
• Collect and check monthly debit card and credit card reports with all necessary Purchase Invoices and PO’s from the card holders.
•  Assist the Finance Officer in processing expenditure: checking Purchase Invoices against PO’s, ensuring that all authorisations are in place, and posting expenditure on the QuickBooks database.
• Assist the Senior Finance Officer in sending out statements to overdue Debtors from QuickBooks.

Fundraising related tasks

• Process donation payments received via cheque, cash or PayPal and similar platforms onto the Beacon database.
•  Assist the Fundraising Manager in keeping the Beacon database up to date with donations/grants received, gift aid eligibility and forms, and grant contracts.
• Instigate periodic thank-you letters to donors.

Key responsibilities of the role include but not limited to:

• Provide high quality support to the Head of Governance and HR on aspects of the Trust’s HR function and on the provision of accurate, timely and relevant updates and reports as required by the Executive Team.

• Lead on the Trust’s EDI policy, ensuring that the policy is implemented in a practical way throughout the organisation and in all our activities. Ensure the HR-related recommendations of the Tutu Foundation review into institutional racism at the Trust are progressed to a conclusion.
• Support the Head of Governance and HR in delivering the actions that support preparations for the next Investors in People (IiP) external assessment in late 2024. Ensure the Trust’s HR policies and practices remain consistent with the IiP standard.
• Work proactively with the HR Business Partner on the running of staff recruitment and selection processes, including sitting as the HR representative on the interview panel for more senior roles.

Essential Experience, Skills and Attributes

• Substantial experience of working in HR operations and of developing and reviewing appropriate HR policies and procedures in a charity or similar setting.
• Sound understanding of employment law and a willingness to keep up-to-date with relevant legislative changes.
• A passion for EDI and an ability to be creative and engaging in communications around this subject.
• Strong organisational skills and an understanding of the importance of discretion and confidentiality.
• Excellent written and oral communication skills, including evidence of ability to adapt to a variety of cultural settings.

As an Employment Coach with our Employcare Project you will be supporting unpaid carers living in Manchester; providing support and coaching in order for them to re-enter paid employment or voluntary roles.  The successful candidates will manage a small caseload of carers and provide them with 1:1 support, helping them overcome barriers to employment and training.  You will be responsible for supporting them through every stage of their journey, enabling participants to address their barriers and realise their aspirations.

This role is subject to a Basic DBS check.

Peer Support Worker

£27,344 – £29,439, depending on skills and experience

37.5 hours per week with some evening/weekend work

Hybrid working - based on the needs of the service.

The Peer Support Service operates alongside other clinical and wellbeing services to provide formalised peer support for people living with common and complex mental health needs and complex emotional needs, including personality disorder. 

The service compliments and collaborates with NHS Peer Support Workers and is delivered from community-based locations and NHS Hubs across Kensington and Chelsea and Westminster to help people regain control over their lives, shaped by their own unique recovery process. 

The role involves experiential sharing, connecting relationships and community building to deliver a range of peer support activities, including one to one peer support, peer support groups, social peer support, peer support training and Living Well Workshops.

The successful candidate will have:

· Personal lived experience of recovery and living well with a mental health condition

· Knowledge of recovery focused approaches in mental health and trauma informed practice

· Proven experience of delivering peer support in a mental health setting

· Knowledge and experience of common and complex mental health conditions, including complex emotional needs and personality disorder

· Experience of working with diverse communities

· Strong communication skills

· Ability to use your own lived experience to inspire hope and recovery in others

· Ability to manage self-care

· Ability to plan and organise your own time and work

· Ability to facilitate online support face to face and using Zoom or Teams

About the role

The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.

You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.

You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.

The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.

Key Responsibilities

Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:

• Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
• Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
• Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.
• Being first point of call to responds to queries /requests for your regions and escalating as appropriate to People and Culture Lead(s)
• Support the implementation of the JEDI strategy within the regions you work in

Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:

• Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
• Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
• Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

Specialist areas will include:

Learning and Development

• Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
• Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
• Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
• Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
• Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
• Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework

Other

• Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
• Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting

Required skills, knowledge and experience

• A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
• Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
• Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
• Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
• Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
• Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
• A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
• Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
• Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
• Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)
• A strong commitment to the principles of justice, equality, diversity and inclusion within the context of developing learning opportunities
• A passion for action on climate change and a commitment to social justice
