We’re recruiting for a Fundraising Project Lead to join Samaritans. You’ll work in a small & friendly team to lead and deliver a programme of virtual fundraising challenges and with plans to grow our current virtual flagship event to include an in-person element. You’ll lead a ‘best in class’ stewardship programme, with engaging content and communications that support participants to maximise their fundraising and build lasting relationships with Samaritans.
You’ll have previous event management or community fundraising experience, within the charity sector. You’ll have experience of managing moderating an online community and excellent project management and written communication skills.
This is a fun and varied role. We’re looking for a creative individual with a growth mindset, who thinks outside the box, brings new ideas to our event portfolio and can tailor their creativity to suit different audiences/groups. We want our events to stand out in a crowded marketplace so we are looking to think differently about how we deliver our events and provide best-in-class supporter stewardship and a great supporter experience.

The Person
We are looking for a people person with the ability to lead, develop and support large groups of fundraisers. You’ll have exceptional project and time management skills. You’ll need to be an excellent communicator, be adaptable to changing priorities and have a good understanding of online communities and digital fundraising. You’ll have experience of working with charity supporters in a fundraising environment and an understanding of databases and processes.

About SCEC
SCEC was founded over twenty years ago to provide learning enrichment opportunities to primary school children in disadvantaged communities in south London. Together with our partners, several leading independent schools, we currently operate four schemes in math, literacy, science and art. Children learn through fun, engaging group activities like science experiments, storytelling and mathematical treasure hunts, all taught by qualified teachers with added support from student mentors. Your Role
The Scheme Director is a newly created role that will be pivotal in helping SCEC extend its reach. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will help SCEC design and implement an expansion programme as well as coordinating the delivery of the existing schemes via our school partners. In this exciting role you will be responsible for implementing the charity’s Individual Giving, Legacy and In Memory fundraising programmes (target of £1.3m in 2024). You will manage a team of up to two with the support from the Head of Fundraising, with whom you will work closely with to develop a series of targeted multi-channelled appeals and campaigns to engage with existing supporters and to attract, recruit and retain new ones.
You will be confident in handling and interrogating data, utilising your experience to deliver insight led creative campaigns across several channels. You will use data to test and learn through the delivery of persuasive and compelling appeals and campaigns - aiming to grow supporter loyalty and inspire repeat donations.

Key responsibilities
Planning and implementation

About the role:
We are looking for an Independent Domestic & Sexual Violence Advisor (IDSVA) to be based at Carlisle Infirmary.
This is a full-time post on a fixed term contract until 31st March 2025. The aim of this role is to support victims of domestic abuse predominately risk assessed as high risk service across Cumberland. This is a key role at the hospital working alongside the safeguarding team to ensure that victims of domestic abuse have access to appropriate support.
As an IDSVA you will be:
- Providing a high quality support and advocacy service to victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse.
- Managing a caseload; identifying and assessing risks and needs, providing a tailored crisis intervention service through individual safety planning, advocacy, emotional and practical support.
- Working with other agencies and advocating on behalf of service users in order to help them access services to keep them safe.
- Working within a multi-agency framework consisting of partners as well as MARAC and other local partnerships to offer a coordinated response to domestic abuse.
- Promoting the service and raise awareness of domestic abuse through the delivery of training to hospital staff and local partner agencies
You will need:
- Experience of working in support and advocacy with victims of domestic and/or sexual abuse is advantageous
- To be able to prioritise work and deal with competing or conflicting demands/needs and interests and promote organisation interests and values.
- To ideally hold a SafeLives IDVA accreditation, relevant degree, vocational qualification or relevant experience of delivering a service and working with domestic and/or sexual abuse victim's/service users in a statutory, voluntary or community work setting.
