About the role
This role will be instrumental in ensuring Claire House remains a legacy confident organisation. The postholder will lead on the planning of our Legacy (gifts in Wills) and In Memory strategy, ensuring supporter journeys, audience insight and effective targeting are at the heart of the programme while initiating impactful marketing campaigns across a variety of channels.
You’ll be a creative thinker and determined self-starter with the entrepreneurial spirit and experience to deliver a successful programme of legacy giving that will sustain our charity for future generations. We work hard to provide a learning culture and you should not be afraid to try new things, fail quickly and learn from mistakes. The postholder will have the ability to distil Claire House’s work down to compelling propositions to demonstrate the impact of supporters’ gifts and ensure a stable pipeline for future income.
The nuts and bolts of the job:
· To develop and ensure effective implementation of a legacy and in memory fundraising strategy.
· To build relationships with a range of external and internal stakeholders, creating legacy leads and converting to legators.
· A member of Fundraising Team Leaders, work collaboratively with colleagues to optimise legacy giving opportunities, utilising the full range of marketing platforms and events.
· To develop key messages and tools to enable all staff to integrate legacies into their everyday conversations with our supporters.
What you’ll need to bring to the role
· Proven experience and a successful track record at a senior level in legacy fundraising, including the creation, development and implementation of strategic fundraising plans.
· Excellent people management skills.
· Excellent relationship management, marketing and programme delivery skills.
· Ability to produce accurate budgets and regular forecasts and to communicate complex financial information.
· Experience of developing and promoting in memory and/or legacy fundraising products.
· Strong understanding of relationship fundraising, legacy and in memory giving, including the latest trends and opportunities
· Ability to create compelling legacy and in memory messaging and asks.

As a charity, we depend on the kindness and support of our local community to continue offering our services free of charge. It may come as a surprise, but only 16% of our funding comes from the government. End-of-life care is an essential service, not a luxury, yet it is not funded like other care services. To keep the Hospice’s services running, we need raise an additional £15,000 every day.
The role
As our Individual Giving Lead, you will ensure that everyone that makes a donation to St. Michael’s Hospice, feels valued and that their donation has truly made a difference.
You will maximise opportunities for individual supporters across the individual giving portfolio. Identifying areas for growth and achieve new income across all income streams and enjoy building and deepening engagement with existing supporters.
This role can be office based or hybrid (a mix of home and office working). We would like someone to work a minimum of three days, however hours can be worked across the week, to suit the candidate.
The fundraising office is in Millennium House, Priestley Road Basingstoke and has free parking. It is within a short walking distance from St. Michael’s Hospice and Basingstoke Hospital.

We are looking for an enthusiastic and highly organised individual to join our Special Events Team as Senior Special Events Fundraiser.
We have some exciting events coming up including a reception in October and a high-profile dinner at The Design Museum in November, so we need somebody to come in and hit the ground running. Please note that these events are in the evenings so the role will require some flexibility.
You will work closely with the Head of Special Events to deliver our events, taking responsibility for key elements of the management and delivery of each event and ensuring they meet budget targets. Purpose of Role:
Reporting to the Supporter Care Manager, you will deliver excellent customer care to supporters and potential supporters of Operation Smile UK. As an integral part of the Supporter Care team, you will successfully support the Individual Giving programme and wider fundraising activities, providing support to ever increasing income and supporter stewardship for the delivery of increasing levels of unrestricted income for Operation Smile UK.
Key Responsibilities:
- Be the first point of contact for existing supporters and new supporters who respond to our fundraising activities by phone, email, letter or in person, letter, or email delivering outstanding supporter care
- Liaise with supporters in timely communication via email, phone, and mail with excellent customer care
- Priority is to answer incoming phone calls and escalate any difficult situations/complaints to Supporter Care Manager
- Support processing incoming phone and postal donations
- Assist with banking and processing incoming/outgoing post
- Be responsible for thanking our supporters including by letter, email and phone, despatch of information and fundraising materials
- Enter and maintain accurate records on our Database
- Maintain and assist with all types of donation processing administration and Database record amendments/records being kept up to date this will include Gift Aid status and contact consent requests
- Assist with cancelling and amending all types of regular gifts and sending out appropriate letters
- Manage removal process and consent process
- Assist with sending out problem payment letters
- Assist with handling material requests and recording actions on Database
- Assist with any third-party agency supporter care requests
- Maintain sensitive information and records with appropriate confidentiality

Skills and Experience Required:
Essential:

We are looking to recruit a law graduate (1-3 years post-graduation) with experience in environmental law, economic justice and/or international development to join our small but dynamic team. Depending on experience, the role will support our programmes challenging economic injustice caused by environmental damage, biodiversity loss, deforestation, illegal resource trafficking, climate change and conflicts over natural resources; promoting transparency and accountability in public and private institutions to encourage responsibility and minimise the impacts of corruption; and promoting fairer and more effective economic and fiscal policy tools to help states meet development goals and enhance the rule of law. Working as part of a small, busy team, you will have the opportunity to learn at very close hand what it means to work for an international NGO focusing on achieving environmental and economic justice. You will develop projects with a range of partners, including international agencies, NGOs and CSOs, and governments and government bodies. You will collaborate with a range of volunteer lawyers (law firms and barristers chambers) who are leading experts in their field.
