Responsibilities of our Associate Director of Communications:

• take accountability and leadership for Cats Protection’s integrated communications, providing strategic leadership of the function
• take a strategic approach to integrating different approaches to communications to a deliver a proactive strategy which delivers against agreed organisational priorities
• lead, manage, and motivate the Communications team in line with Cats Protection’s people policies
• responsible for the successful delivery of Public Relations campaigns ensuring objectives are met and work is achieved within budget
• build a culture of positive engagement across functions and promote and role model the values and behaviours of the charity
• maximise the value for money achieved by the charity’s expenditure, with responsibility and accountability for the planning and management of the Communications budget
• work in collaboration with members of the Senior Management team, to fulfil all duties and responsibilities set out in the terms of reference

About the Communications Department

The newly formed Communications department consists of three functions;

• Digital – respnsible for the digital footprint of the organisation across social media and website, creating content and supporting engagement across branches and teams
• Internal communications – delivering creative and effective communications strategies to ensure effective engagement of employees and volunteers
• Media – responsible for developing and delivering innovative strategies to enhance and protect Cats Protection’s reputation in the media, through national stories and supporting local branches and centres

Together, these functions are responsible for the external voice and visibility of Cats Protection, delivering integrated, impactful messages and campaigns in support of organisational priorities.

What we’re looking for in our Associate Director of Communications:

• experience developing and integrating new teams

Our first step in helping us realise our potential in volunteering is to build greater capacity in our central volunteering team. To head this team up we are looking for an experienced and inspirational leader who will line manage 3 Volunteering Business Partners and: 

• Deliver an inspirational, aspirational and impactful Volunteering strategy for Dogs Trust which engages all stakeholders and embeds an integrated approach to volunteering.
• Defines and measures KPIs for volunteering, ensuring decisions for the service are evidence-led and data-driven and report on these at People Programme Board, Leadership Team and Trustee level.    
• Establishes and maintains Dogs Trust national standards, processes and policies to support volunteering across the entire volunteer journey, ensuring compliance and best practice.  
• Leads and develops the central volunteering team as a highly-respected and valued function across Dogs Trust.  

About you: 

To be successful in this role you’ll have extensive experience in leading a central volunteering team, with an up-to-date understanding of best practice in volunteering, current trends and relevant legislation.   

You’ll have substantial senior management experience to include monitoring and evaluation, improving and sustaining performance through people and systems, and planning, implementing and managing change across teams/functions, as well as fantastic leadership and management skills to instil and maintain a sense of accountability, high performance, self-confidence and ambition in a regionally dispersed team.

About the Role

Medical Aid for Palestinians (MAP) works for the health and dignity of Palestinians living under occupation and as refugees. MAP is the leading UK charity delivering health and medical care to those worst affected by conflict, occupation and displacement, in the occupied Palestinian territory (oPt) and Lebanon.

The Deputy Director of Philanthropy will play a pivotal role in advancing MAP's mission by leading and expanding our fundraising efforts across trusts and foundations, major donors and corporate partnerships in the UK and internationally. Duties and key responsibilities
Leadership, Strategy and Planning
•Build and inspire a high-performing, results-oriented team focused on delivering fundraising targets through tailored partnership plans
•Lead the development of the Philanthropy and Partnerships strategy, setting ambitious targets in line with the fundraising strategy and goals in the UK and globally. 
•Collaborate with the Director and Heads of teams to develop team plans aligned with the Fundraising and Marketing strategy.

Relationship Development and Management
•Cultivate and manage strong relationships with corporates, major donors, trust and foundation representatives to secure grants with a focus on multi-year partnerships.
•Develop and manage the portfolio of major donor prospects, creating tailored engagement plans to maximize their philanthropic potential.
•Lead stewardships events to bring the work to life and to connect supporters with MAP programme colleagues and medical volunteers. 
•Collaborate with programmes and communications teams to ensure the team creates persuasive proposals, impactful reports, and engaging donor communications.
•Lead and be responsible for the due diligence procedure for new partners, as well as periodically ensuring that current partners still meet MAP’s guidelines. 
 
Budgets, reporting and compliance
•Lead, create and manage annual and three-year rolling budgets working with programmes, communications and finance.
•Working with the Head of Fundraising Operations, provide reporting for the SMT and Board on a quarterly basis, and at a team level on a monthly basis, highlighting risks and opportunities and making necessary adjustments to ensure continued success.
•Ensure all grant applications and reports are submitted punctually and meet funders' requirements.

Blue Ventures is a marine conservation organization that puts people first. Summary job description

As the Director of Programme Performance, you will be pivotal in leading a team responsible for the design, implementation, and management of monitoring, evaluation, and learning (MEL) systems. What will I be doing?

• Leading the CRM & Marketing Engineering team, incorporating all necessary disciplines (Development, Environments, and Support) to deliver the priorities defined by the Head of Product Portfolio and the Relationship Management & Marketing Product Managers. This will involve:

  • Balancing the needs of the organisation to ensure development progresses at pace and environments are reliable.

  • Supporting DevOps approaches and Support teams to ensure an excellent service that meets user needs and maintains the platform's data integrity.

• Collaborating closely with the Head of Product Portfolio and Product Managers to:

• Leading the CRM & Marketing Engineering in transitioning from the legacy monolith Siebel to the new Salesforce.

  • This will include providing technical leadership for decommissioning Siebe ensuring to coach the team while maintaining morale and developing their skills to take on the new platforms.

• Collaborating closely with the implementation partners to ensure the new platforms meet Cancer Research UK's needs, and that team members are appropriately involved in the implementations.

  • It is crucial that knowledge transfer is taken seriously to avoid long-term dependency on the implementation partner and to build internal capacity for ongoing transformation.

• Defining and delivering the Relationship Management & Marketing aspects of the Engineering Strategy.

  • This includes optimising the delivery of work through the team in terms of throughput and quality, by promoting and embedding DevOps tools and processes, and Agile methods as appropriate.

• Continually improving the availability, stability, and resilience of our platforms by addressing technical debt, improving support mechanisms, acting on support pain points, and ensuring the voice of the customer is heard in the team.

• Coaching and developing staff in the team ensuring that they are gaining in skill, learning the new platforms, and that they can support each other through cross-skilling.

• Providing expert insight into the ongoing development and delivery of the Relationship Management & Marketing technology elements of Cancer Research UK's Engage transformation programme (including strategy and delivery).

What skills will I need?

• Extensive experience in line managing, leading, and motivating technical Development and Support teams (c. 8-10+ direct reports) across various disciplines and levels (this can either be within CRM or non-CRM Engineering).

  • Ideally has navigated teams through periods of ambiguity and transformation (this is desirable, we welcome applicants without this experience)

• Some knowledge of CRM platforms within hybrid environments (on-premise & cloud / SaaS)

  • You do not need to have managed CRM teams before or be a CRM expert - our key priority is finding someone with the management skills to lead CRM specialists.

• Some understanding of Salesforce (e.g., Sales Cloud and Service Cloud).

• Previously managed and transformed the development and operation of enterprise-grade platforms.

• Proven ability to influence, challenge, and engage internal and external stakeholders from a leadership and strategic perspective.

Role Summary

Reporting to the Director of People & Finance, the Head of Finance will oversee financial activities in the charity with the support of a team of two.  The Head of Finance is responsible for overseeing the financial management, planning, and reporting functions to ensure the charity's fiscal health and compliance with regulatory standards. This role takes responsibility for developing and implementing financial strategies, managing budgets, forecasting, and financial risk, as well as ensuring accurate financial records and reporting for both internal and external stakeholders. The Head of Finance works closely with SLT to align financial planning with the charity's mission and business plan, provides financial insights for decision-making, and ensures that funding is managed efficiently to maximise impact. Additionally, they line manage the finance team and liaise with auditors, HMRC, pension bodies and fundraising stakeholders as required.

Key Duties/ Responsibilities:

Strategic Purpose:

• Oversee the financial operations of the charity
• Implement robust internal financial controls and compliance with the Charity’s accounting/finance policies and procedures
• Responsibility for compiling annual budgets, 3-yr forecasts (budgets, cashflows, reserves)
• Provide strategic advice to the trustees on all aspects of finance and taxation

Engagement:

• Collaborate with HR to ensure delivery of payroll

The Director of Professional Services is responsible for our professional affairs activities, overseeing the creation, maintenance and application of relevant standards through our professional affairs committee, and certification and accreditation schemes. They are also responsible for member recruitment and management, ensuring we continue to attract new RSS members and partners, and that their needs are met. They also oversee a range of activities that engage RSS members (including groups that bring members together on a topic or geographical basis, RSS honours and awards, and our volunteering opportunities), securing both our impact on society and member retention.

About the Investment Team

The Investment Team is responsible for selecting charity partners, managing our charity investments and supporting our charity partners to improve and scale their impact.

The Investment Team also leads the Impetus Leadership Academy, a leadership development programme to support talent from ethnic minority backgrounds in the UK youth sector to progress into senior leadership roles.

The team is made up of 18 people, including former teachers, charity chief executives, charity impact leads, management consultants, social investment portfolio managers and impact consultants.

Job description – Investment Director

The Investment Director (ID) is a key member of the Investment Team, playing a leading role in identifying, assessing, and supporting portfolio partner charities and other non-profit organisations to deepen their impact and scale their outcomes. • Providing direct support to CEOs and senior colleagues on key strategic topics, using a mix of at least monthly one-to-one meetings and group facilitation to:
  • clarify theory of change
  • define long term ambition
  • develop growth strategy
  • achieve a step change in the delivery and performance management of outcomes
  • strengthen leadership (individual and collective) and governance capabilities

• Scoping and project managing pro bono capacity-building projects (in addition to providing direct management support). Ensure projects are delivered to a high standard and contribute to charity progression
• Identifying engagement opportunities for our donors and supporters with charity partners that are aligned with the charity’s activities and do not distract or undermine their core work

Support to Impetus

• Developing expertise about “what works” in the sector through cultivation and use of expert input and engagement as well as investigation into key research and evaluative literature
• Working closely with team colleagues to use learnings from our work and domain expertise to inform our strategy, our model and delivery over time
• Leading on and contributing to internal topics, such as team strategy development, digital transformation, or equity, diversity, and inclusion
• Contribute towards Impetus’ public affairs and philanthropy objectives through input into case studies, research and policy campaigns, donor reports and fundraising events
• Sharing the learning from our work across the team, across the organisation and externally working within Impetus strategy, policies and procedures
• Engaging in Impetus pro bono, communications, and advocacy events, and engage charity partners appropriately in these events
• Where appropriate, line-managing and supporting Investment Managers on the team to grow and develop, and achieve their project, role and team objectives.

Desirable

• Experience in the non-profit (charity or social enterprise) sector, through work, as a pro-bono volunteer or Trustee capacity 
• Experience in consulting, investment management, senior charity management, or other in-depth grant making and advisory work
• Knowledge and expertise in UK education or youth employability sectors
• Board experience in private, public or third sector
• Understanding of or experience with commissioning impact evaluations.
