Role Purpose
We are seeking a highly motivated, creative, and ambitious person to be a critical part of The Centre for Early Childhood team. The role will be highly involved in our exciting work with corporates following our Business Taskforce report launch in the Spring, as well as supporting the wider activity across the team.
You will drive the day-to-day delivery of a range of projects including campaigns, events, content, and partnerships. As you maintain the momentum day-to-day you will bring stakeholders along with you and always have an eye on the longer-term strategy. You will be comfortable prioritising workloads, thinking creatively and communicating plans to the wider team.
Key responsibilities will include:
· Working closely with the whole team to devise the plans to deliver ambitious, impactful work. This role is all about the ‘how’: connecting people, collaborating on a strategy, and making sure the work gets done.
· Thinking creatively about how all our activity has maximum impact and pushes our team towards our goals.
· Keeping the team on track and motivated, being clear on the key milestones and coordinating day-to-day activities – all to ensure delivery against the plan.
· Ensuring that work remains in line with agreed budgets and defined objectives.
· Identifying risks (both current and potential) and contributing to risk mitigation strategies.
· Coordinating and communicating with multiple stakeholders and partners to ensure everyone is aligned.
· During busy delivery phases, maintaining a meticulous attention to detail.

· Playing an active role in the Centre team, working collaboratively to offer ideas on broader strategy and designing new projects.

We are working in partnership with Chichester Counselling Services (CCS), a registered charity, who are a highly regarded training school and counselling service. Their aim is to provide affordable counselling and training services to the community of Chichester and the wider areas of West Sussex and East Hampshire. CCS’s psychodynamic training programme, accredited by the BACP, has a reputation for rigour and depth. The counselling offered is frequently recommended by local health professionals and is well-respected in the community: around two thirds of their clients approach CCS having been encouraged to do so by professional advisors or by their family, friends, or employers.
The Board of Trustees are seeking an Interim CEO to stabilise the organisation after recent disruption. The Interim CEO will appraise the current situation, and quickly define and deliver a program of short- and medium-term actions to get CCS into a position from which it can move forward. The Interim CEO will be accountable for all aspects of operational delivery, ensuring that targets are met while enabling the Board of Trustees to fulfil its strategic and governance responsibilities. Working with the Board to review the medium- and longer-term strategy for the organisation and developing and implementing a strategic plan, presents a longer-term opportunity.
Required experience and skills:
- A track record of delivery in turnaround situations.
- Experience ideally in health and social care, counselling, or wider mental health.
- Solid engagement skills with the ability to build confidence across a wide range of stakeholders quickly.

The job
We’re looking for someone to wear two hats.
The first hat you’ll wear is that of a client lead. You’ll have full responsibility for the clients and projects that you and your team are working on. One day you might be working on ocean policy campaigns, helping technical clients adapt their language to make it engaging and influential, and in doing so helping to push the ocean agenda forward. The next you could be working with a not-for-profit, leading the creation of their brand identity, marketing strategy and overseeing the launch of their new website.
We’re on the hunt for a seasoned communications strategist and a creative campaigner. You’ll be someone who feels at home bringing your knowledge and experience to any communications challenge: from campaign strategy to brand strategy, from policy communications to digital marketing.
You should be a creative thinker, a problem solver, and someone who knows how to run projects profitably – and grow client relationships at the same time. You’ll be able to build relationships quickly, with clients and colleagues. You’ll spot mistakes, tactfully ask difficult questions, and tell us and our clients how to improve things.
The second hat you’ll wear is that of a new business lead. You’ll work with the CEO, Head of Strategy and other colleagues to identify, respond to, and win new business opportunities. We’re looking for someone who has directly relevant experience here – so you’ll have had experience in new business for an agency or consultancy, or have supported that function.
You’ll have experience responding to RFPs (and hopefully winning them – definitely tell us if you have a good hit rate), you’ll be excited by the idea of travelling abroad to give presentations to prospects and convert them to clients, and you’ll have ideas about how we can improve our marketing to generate more inbound leads. Where some see new business efforts as taxing and draining, you’ll be energised by it, and see new business as a game that is fun to play, and win.
Key skills and experience
The core things we are looking for are:
- Minimum 6 years experience, with at least three years in an equivalent agency setting
- Have communications expertise in creating stories, shaping narratives and social/policy campaigns and/or public affairs
- Experience and expertise in brand communications and/or strategy development
- Ability to produce creative and engaging communication materials: reports, websites, social media and print

New business & sales
- Identify and respond to appropriate RFPs; lead pitch approaches

As their Head of Customer Service Improvement, you’ll lead the Customer Resolution Team, taking a strategic, forward-thinking view of the service and ensuring that our client is effective in managing and learning from customer complaints. You’ll effectively manage the budget for the team and work closely with the Housing Ombudsman Service to ensure all regulatory returns and requests for information are handled in a timely manner and that they build a strong external reputation of trust, transparency, and a willingness to learn and improve. Salary
The spot salary for this post is £59,952 per annum for applicants who fully meet the requirements of the post. Applicants, who do not meet all the requirements of the post, will start 5% or 10% below the spot salary.

About the role
The Senior People Advisor works within the People and Culture team to provide staff with advisory support across the whole employee lifecycle from onboarding through to offboarding and ongoing HR support, which reflects and highlights our organisational culture and values. The role is supported by the People team who operate across the globe and work collaboratively to ensure our culture, people and processes are well aligned. The role will lead on providing advice on employee relations issues to all employees and people managers in their regions.
You will also ensure that staff who are hired and/or paid through PEOs receive the same positive, welcoming and nurturing experience as staff who are employed directly by Sunrise.
You will work closely with the Learning and Development Director and People and Culture team to assist in the design and delivery of areas that drive culture and transformation across Sunrise. This will include overseeing and utilizing our LMS system and supporting leadership development, JEDI, core compliance related areas and any other areas identified as part of learning needs analysis. You will also support the evaluation of our programmes, tools and techniques for delivering learning.
The role will also lead on developing the curriculum for our organisation wide onboarding programme and materials.
Key Responsibilities
Provide generalist people support that will include areas such as:
- Employee/industrial relations - providing support, advice and guidance on a range of issues including conflict management and working with and escalating when required to our people and culture lead(s)
- Providing onboarding support and coordinating issue of contracts and any updates to employment for specific for regions that you support
- Providing local hiring support working with the Hiring Advisor as needed, this may include coordination support, quality assuring our process and providing advice to hiring managers.
- Being first point of call to responds to queries /requests for your regions and escalating as appropriate to People and Culture Lead(s)
- Support the implementation of the JEDI strategy within the regions you work in
Managing communications between PEOs and Sunrise and their HR leads for Europe based staff (Remote, Safeguard,Velocity) with some support for North American based staff including:
- Facilitating employee life cycle to facilitate pre-boarding, payroll changes, onboarding and offboarding including exit interviews.
- Providing the PEO with guidance and updates on employee relations issues e.g. performance management, grievances, workplace health & safety, etc. by investigating issues, evaluating potential solutions and assisting in implementing agreed-upon actions via the PEO.
- Working with PEO’s to seek advice and expertise on labour law legislation and related risks, to ensure that alignment between Sunrise and PEO HR practices is balanced with compliance to local legislation.

- Work with the Director of Learning and Development and People and Culture Leads to design, deliver and implement opportunities that are aligned with learning needs
- Work with Managers to regularly evaluate learning needs analysis and seeking input from L&D Director to design solutions where appropriate
- Support with sourcing, design and delivery of compliance related resources and learning for the organisation
- Utilize our learning management system to support learning activities and development and maintenance of the LMS
- Oversee and develop our approach to onboarding globally and lead on the design and implementation of the curriculum, ensuring regular updates are made as we grow
- Evaluate the effectiveness of learning activities working with the L&D Director to develop a consistent framework
Other
- Leads and/or participates in HR-operational related projects, e.g. Intranet, HRIS, program reviews, etc
- Works with P&C Leads to provide relevant data and reports for board and organisation reporting
Required skills, knowledge and experience
- A working knowledge of, and experience in a people advisory role, in particular contemporary HR practices and related regulatory/compliance requirements.
- Prior experience (equivalent to 5 years of experience) and success in designing and delivering learning interventions with experience of remote content design and delivery.
- Knowledge of and experience of applying learning theories and best practices
- Experience of managing commercial partnerships and relationships with third party suppliers
- Experience of designing and delivering learning experiences globally taking into consideration JEDI and cultural differences.
- Experience of using learning technologies, learning management systems and/or virtual learning environments.
- A high level of emotional intelligence, with advanced communications and engagement skills (rapport building, influencing and trust building).
- Advanced level organisational, time management and administrative skills. Operational focussed project management experience, including competence in using project management tools (ideally Asana, or similar)
- Well developed experience of managing issues and conflict management, troubleshooting and problem solving skills, together with a positive, collaborative approach.
- Experience of facilitation and coaching and implementing coaching programmes (Essential)
