The Children's Society has been helping children and young people in this country for over 140 years. We run local services that support children when they are at their most vulnerable and in desperate need of help. We're there for children, every step of the way.

This role sits within our Youth Impact directorate, which works to provide immediate one-to-one and group support for children who urgently need support. Your role will be to advocate for children and young people in Cheshire East and Cheshire West & Chester local authorities.

We are currently looking for a confident and empathetic person to join our dynamic, ambitious team.

A key part of this role will be your ability to work directly with children and young people and ensure their voices are heard by adults in their lives.

In order to be successful in this role, you must have:

-A relevant professional qualification e.g. Youth & Community, Education or NVQ 3 Health & Social Care Or HNC in Social Care or Early Years 3 NVQ3 Health & Social Care.

-Knowledge and understanding of a range of evidence-based interventions and creative ways of working with children and young people

-An ability to develop and maintain positive and constructive relationships with children and young people 

-An understanding of issues that affect children and young people who are looked after by the local authority

We seek an experienced professional with strong inter-personal skills and integrity who can travel throughout North Wales. This is a newly created role, to ensure that EU citizens in North Wales secure their immigration status under the EU Settlement Scheme and understand and access the rights and services which come with that status. 

You will reach out and build diverse partnerships throughout all parts of North Wales so that the most isolated and vulnerable EU citizens receive good quality information and advice services, and expand provision of new face to face advice services in community venues.

This post is funded by the Welsh Government and the postholder will be expected to meet requirements and demonstrate results as agreed with the Welsh Government. Historically, North Wales has had less immigration advice provision than South Wales so this role is part of an important effort to address this imbalance and provide the EU communities of North Wales with a more accessible service.

About this exciting opportunity
Our successful candidate will provide operational management and effective leadership to a team of Financial Wellbeing Coaches (FWCs) and Peer Advisor volunteers employed in the delivery of one or more contracts awarded by the HMPPS to deliver Finance, Benefit and Debt (FBD) services in Wales.  

We will count on you to set performance objectives and monitor progress – ensuring compliance with contractual performance indicators and quality improvement, and to monitor and manage all aspects of delivery and performance.  

This key role will also involve managing partnerships, developing and maintaining strong working relationships with stakeholders, and managing and coordinating allocated resources, including volunteers and spot purchase funds.  Ensuring there is a safe and trusting working environment for staff and working closely with other St Giles Wise Managers to ensure consistency of approach and sharing of best practice are also key duties.

What we are looking for 

• Experience of working in, or managing, services supporting challenging people
• Experience working in or managing multi-agency partnerships working towards common objectives 
• Hold a relevant qualification, or be able to provide evidence of training at specialist level in money and/or welfare benefits advice 
• Sound understanding of the requirements of managing a caseload 
• Familiarity with relevant legislation, regulations, guidance codes of practice and industry standards
• Ability to coach and mentor staff to motivate and facilitate optimum performance Excellent interpersonal, relationship-building and communication skills, both verbal and written

In the last year, we have scaled up the Fundraising Operations function, as part of the Fundraising & Income Generation Support department, growing from one person to a team of four, to ensure we are providing the best possible support to our fundraising team, and the wider federation of local Minds.

Our goals are to ensure that they have the tools and training to be successful in their role, that we are maximising on all opportunities, that we are working effectively across teams and that we are ensuring all activity is compliant and follows best practice.

The Fundraising Operations team consists of:

The team is part of the wider Fundraising & Income Generation Support department, working closely with our Innovation teams and Network Support teams.

Key duties and responsibilities

Do you have experience managing internal communications, working within fundraising teams or delivering training and briefings to staff?

The post holder will:

-lead on improving communication and cross working between teams, across the directorate of 100+ people and with the wider organisation, ensuring that fundraising staff are equipped with the information, tools, networks, processes and systems to be able to carry out their roles effectively.

-champion collaboration across the directorate, the federation, with Mind Retail and with Mind Cymru, enabling teams to problem-solve together and deliver solutions that place our supporters front and centre, whilst maximising the value of our products and assets.

-help to support the fundraising teams to have a united sense of purpose and direction, a sound understanding of the tools, protocols and cross-working processes that enable them to do their job effectively, and that their needs are understood both within the directorate and wider organisation.

The post reports to the Head of Fundraising Operations and works with staff across Mind and closely with senior management roles within Fundraising. The post holder will also need to work effectively with independent local Minds and colleagues in Wales.

The post holder will also line manage the Directorate Administrator, who provides secretariat support to the Fundraising leadership team and the wider directorate.

One of the oldest hospices in the country, for over 50 years St Joseph’s Hospice has been passionate about providing high-quality, professional nursing care within a peaceful, home from home environment.

"My father-in-law spent the last few weeks of his life there and the care he and his family received was second to none. Being perfectly honest when my turn comes if I am not lucky enough to die peacefully in my sleep then this is where I would want to be.".

Surrounded by 12 acres of beautiful woodland garden the hospice cares for around 200 patients, and their families, every year from across a diverse geographical area, which includes Sefton, Liverpool and West Lancashire. All of the invaluable services the hospice provides, which include bereavement services, are entirely free of charge to patients and their families despite costing around £10k per day to run, so the hospice is largely dependent on fundraised income.

We are looking for a committed and enthusiastic Community & Events Fundraiser to join the ambitious and dedicated Fundraising Team at the hospice.

The Role

 

As a Community & Events Fundraiser you will be responsible for developing and implementing a programme of vibrant, commercially successful fundraising events. Duties will include:

• Managing community fundraising and building relationships with donors to maximise income.
• Recruiting and managing the Fundraising volunteers.
• Supporting the Income & Business Development Manager in delivering the annual objectives and targets.
• Attending third party fundraising events to offer support and promote the hospice within the community

The Person

 

To be considered for this exciting opportunity you will have excellent people skills with the ability to enthuse and motivate others. Proven experience of fundraising and events would be ideal, however we are keen to hear from people with transferable backgrounds including volunteering, business development/ sales or account management.

You will have a creative and proactive approach to all areas of work, with the capability to successfully lead a team by example and collaborate with others. You will also have superb numeracy and planning skills with a flair for social media.

With strong written and verbal communication skills, and a passion for fundraising, community and events, this could be the next rewarding step in your fundraising career.

We are looking for a fixed term Impact and Evaluation Manager to help us to develop an initial impact and evaluation framework for the organisation. Reporting to our Chief Operating Officer, the aim is to be able to understand, evaluate and learn from our impacts and to track our organisational performance through appropriate data and metrics. It will build on an existing set of metrics that have been developed and provide the foundation for a longer term impact evaluation approach.

Role purpose: 

Lead the development of an initial impact and evaluation framework that will help us to track our progress, demonstrate achievements and ensure accountability.

Your responsibilities will include: 

• Consult and work closely with staff and relevant external stakeholders to review current impact performance tracking across all organisation objectives and identify gaps in or improvements required.

• Lead the development and design of an initial impact and evaluation framework and data collection system for Rewilding Britain, including clearly defined and measurable outcomes linked to our Strategic Plan and Theory of Change. 

• Lead on the collation, analysis and communication of monitoring and evaluation data across the organisation and highlight any key trends. 

• Design a dashboard and reporting mechanisms for presenting the data in a way that is easy to use and understand.

• Contribute towards the continuous improvement of processes, data and our technology to enable the charity to collect and analyse impact and monitoring data on an ongoing basis.

• Champion good data practise for all internal databases to ensure data quality and centralisation of data. 

• Support the Fundraising Team in their work to identify, cultivate and inform existing and prospective donors and funding partners with relevant evidence and insights

• Support and collaborate with the wider team on evaluation and monitoring to instil a culture of learning and evaluation across functions

• Extract, interpret, summarise and communicate key stakeholder needs from evaluation and data outputs 

• Work closely with our Data Monitoring Project team to incorporate data from our emerging Rewilding Monitoring Framework into our impact and evaluation framework.

• Produce evaluation reports and the data, stories and case studies for a high quality 10 year Impact Report using this framework.

Skills, experience and behaviours

• Experience of designing, executing and embedding measurement frameworks.

• Experience of conducting quantitative and qualitative research.

• Experience of using insight from data and research to add value.

• Strong reporting skills using different outputs and mechanisms for different audiences.

Terms and conditions and staff benefits

This is a full time, fixed term role for an initial 9 month period, with the possibility of extension. The salary is £37,000 to £42,000 f.t.e depending on experience.

There will be some freedom for the person to determine their own working arrangements each week, within limitations, providing the work is delivered.

Rewilding Britain employees benefit from 25 days annual leave per year (pro rata for part time roles), rising to 30 days over 5 years. A generous employer-matched pension scheme is also available.

Home-Start London is an independent charity that connects and strengthens the 16 local Home-Starts in the capital so that together we can reach more families. Collectively, our network supported over 6,500 families including 9,500 children last year.

Working closely with the Director and Home-Start staff, volunteers and partners across the capital, you will play a vital role in ensuring the successful delivery of our joint projects and activities from our peer learning groups and network events to our growing portfolio of funded partnerships.

• Be familiar with delivering and achieving sales and room hire income targets
• Become the familiar face and first contact to each new work space member.
• Lead, develop and coordinate community initiatives to connect members. This includes but is not limited to; delivering member introductions, event organising, electronic and print communications.

• Meet and communicate with members to resolve issues, process membership departures and other issues of complexity.

• Seek opportunities to engage members to discover and discuss members’ business, social and personal objectives.
• Proactively enquire regarding members’ business objectives and identify both St Matthews and member services that could assist in achieving their goals.
• Manage inbound post.
• Implement rules, guidelines and best practices for the community to enhance the member experience.
• Identify and communicate observed weaknesses within community management, sales, events, training, and member experience on a company-wide level.
• Work with Giroscope’s operations team to ensure that all in-house tech is operating correctly at all times.
• Ensure our facilities are compliant with all ongoing health and safety requirements.

What you’ll be doing (Key Responsibilities):

1. Fundraising Strategy Implementation:

• Support the Director of Strategic Development to develop and refine fundraising and partnership goals and objectives.

• Execute the organisation’s fundraising strategy, working as part of the Development Team towards a shared target, with a focus on major gifts.

• Identify and pursue new funding opportunities, populating the organisation’s pipeline, ensuring alignment with organisational priorities and project needs 

• Work with team members in each area of the organisation to develop a strong model for donor collaboration linked to impact.

• Monitor market insights and adapt to fundraising trends and donor behaviours.

2. Strive Network Management and Development/ Donor Community Development:

• Lead the management and growth of a mission-aligned network, engaging high-net-worth individuals, including those who participate in Strive Challenges.

• Develop and implement strategies to deepen relationships within the Strive Network, fostering a sense of community and shared purpose.

• Work with our comms and marketing team to develop the donor network’s shared purpose, vision statement, brand identity and visibility.

• Oversee the careful research, qualification and stewarding of new partnerships that will help to enrich and evolve the Strive network towards inclusivity and participatory approaches.

• Co-develop value propositions with existing members of the Network to encourage others to join the group.

• Create opportunities for the Strive Network to connect with and add value to our community of changemakers on the ground (eg. mentoring, connections, follow on funding).

3. Major Donor Engagement:

• Lead on relationship management with existing major donors, designing tailored stewardship and ensuring ongoing engagement.

• Review, evaluate and further develop key touchpoints with major donors, collaborating with team members across the organisation and other funders where appropriate.

• Accountable for the identification, cultivation, and welcoming of new major donor prospects, with a focus on diversifying and expanding the Strive Network beyond its current reach.

• Oversee the production of personalised proposals, presentations and reports, sparking ongoing engagement with the network and linking their contributions to Big Change’s community and impact.

• Work closely with the Director of Strategic Development in managing high-profile donor relationships and securing multi-year commitments.

3. Team Leadership and Collaboration:

• Provide training and professional development opportunities for team members.

• Work closely with other teams at Big Change to ensure alignment between fundraising activities and organisational needs.

• Develop, inspire, motivate others to fulfil their potential and foster collaboration across Big Change and its community

4. Data Management and Reporting:

• Working closely with the senior leadership team, track and report fundraising progress, ensuring transparency and accountability in all pipeline development activities.

• Oversee the management of donor databases, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records of all fundraising activities.

• Track and analyse engagement metrics to evaluate the effectiveness of strategies and campaigns.

Main Areas of Responsibility

Your role will be to jointly support our team in leading our educational programmes, the Harris Experience (HE) and Harris Experience Advanced (HEA), which are already in place from Year 9 through to Year 13. The HE programme spans three years for each cohort, from Year 9 to Year 11; the HEA programme spans two years for each cohort, from Year 12 to Year 13. Both programmes aim to broaden the cultural and academic experiences of some of our brightest young secondary students in the federation, to give them an outstanding preparation for some of the UK’s top university destinations, including Oxford, Cambridge and medicine. About the role

We want to reach and support more people with heart and circulatory conditions, helping them to feel informed, empowered and understood. 

You’ll play a key role in doing this, using analytics to evaluate, analyse and plan content; developing and improving user journeys; and producing new content that meets users’ needs.

You will help shape and drive the user-centred digital content of the Health Content Team, working closely with colleagues across the BHF, in particular in insights, digital products, UX and CRO, and marketing and communications.

Acting as the content management system expert within the Health Content team, you will also be the main point of contact with the Digital team.

Working arrangements 

This is a 12 month fixed term contract, covering a sabbatical. 

This is a blended role, where your work will be dual located between your home and our London office.

Your extensive stakeholder management experience helps you work well with multidisciplinary teams, acting as an ambassador for the Health Content team.
