We’re seeking an Interim Training Manager for a 6-9 month contract, with the potential to transition into a permanent position for the right candidate.  This is a unique opportunity to lead and enhance our training programmes within the charity sector.
In this role, you’ll ensure our training initiatives meet their objectives, stay on budget, and deliver exceptional outcomes.

About the role

Working closely with the Programme Officer for Training, the Training Manager will manage the training function, leading the delivery and continuous improvement whilst managing key relationships ranging from associate trainers who deliver training on behalf of Student Minds to external organisations who wish to purchase training. This role has responsibility for income generation within the organisation and management of the trainer network.

Responsibilities

• Oversee and continuously improve the training function, ensuring objectives and outcomes are met on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
• Lead detailed programme planning, including risk management and budget oversight, in collaboration with colleagues.
• Drive income generation, develop pricing models, and lead marketing strategies for training programmes, working towards annual financial targets.
• Manage relationships with key stakeholders, coordinate professional development for trainers, and assure the quality of training delivery.
• Stay informed on sector developments, adapt training content accordingly, and represent the training programmes at external events.
• Support the implementation of digital systems and contribute to website development for training-related content.
• Collaborate with the team on cross-organisational events, provide consultative feedback, and uphold the organisation's values, including EDI practices.

Full-Time Salary Range: £28,552 - £32,445 per annum
Pro-Rated Part-Time Salary Range: £22,841.6 to £25,956 per annum (based on 30 hours per week, equivalent to 80% of a full-time role)

Main Duties/Tasks:

Leadership & Team Development

Lead the development and execution of the overall marketing strategy for Alder Hey Children's Charity, aligned with the organisation's goals and values of Courage, Together, Passion, and Magic.

Support the Head of Marketing & Communications to develop ongoing strategy for the Brand, adhering to set KPIs, and sticking to budget and deadlines.

Work with the Head of Marketing & Communications to provide leadership and direction to the Marketing & Communications Team, empowering the team to deliver against set goals and objectives.

Marketing & Communications

Collaborate with the Trust’s communications team to integrate marketing and PR activities, ensuring consistent messaging and brand representation.

Collaborate with fundraising teams to strategise, plan and implement integrated marketing campaigns across multiple channels, including digital, social media and print.

Manage TV advert development, scripting, storytelling and creative.

Be a brand gatekeeper across all activity, internal and external.

Lead the team to produce timely and relevant social media activity, scheduled across all channels, identifying our audiences and creating appropriate content.

Other Duties

Be an outstanding advocate for Alder Hey Children’s Charity in line with the core values of the organisation.

Be an active and supportive member of the charity management team, contributing to the charity’s higher aims, working collaboratively with senior managers, colleagues and volunteers.

Manage the team to collaborate with the fundraisings teams to create compelling marketing materials, including appeal narratives, brochures, newsletters, and online content, to engage potential donors and supporters.

The charity is currently conducting a four-day working week trial, due to end on 30th September 2024. This means that, for example, staff previously working 37.5 hours a week are now working 30 hours a week to enable a four-day working week. The trial is monitoring the benefits of a four-day working week against productivity. We are confident that by embracing a more flexible and balanced approach to work, we can continue to create a thriving and fulfilling work environment while driving growth and success for our charity. A decision will be made before the 30th September 2024 to agree the next steps, based on an assessment of the trial period; the four day working week trial may be ended, extended or adopted permanently.

Springhill Hospice provide the highest standard of physical, psychological, emotional and spiritual care for patients with life-limiting illnesses, their families and carers.

The Role

We are looking for a Trusts and Grants Fundraiser to join the growing fundraising team. You will play a significant role in delivering funding for projects to support the provision of hospice care. The main purpose of this role is to:

• Research and deliver new and existing trusts and foundations income to achieve income targets.
• Match costs for projects to potential funders and manage applications for funding.
• Report on the use of funding, providing timely and up to date information on hospice activities.
• Develop long term relationships with funders.
• Acquire accreditation and awards to gain recognition for the hospice.

The Person

We are looking for someone who excels at building relationships and provides exceptional supporter care. You will need to have the ability to communicate effectively, both written and verbally. Experience in writing and editing copy would also be advantageous in this role.

The Grants and Compliance Manager will: -

Manage the grant application process including

• Inviting people, groups, schools, churches and charities to apply

Manage the grants award process

This is a fantastic opportunity to work for a charity providing vital support to some of
the most deprived members of our community. The Watford and Three Rivers
Refugee Partnership (WTRRP) provides services to refugees, asylum-
seekers and other vulnerable migrants in our area, to improve their well-being and interaction with the local community and services. The Casework Coordinator role will focus on ensuring that asylum seekers and refugees engaging
within our service will receive specialist information, advice and advocacy support.
This role will provide support to clients dealing with key issues of
immigration, housing, welfare and health. You will work alongside a strong
established group of volunteers who currently provide a number of roles within the
organisation.

Responsibilities:

• Manage a caseload of clients who require specialist advice and support, ensuring that cases are progressed effectively, including detailed record-keeping.
• Work effectively with the Committee, Office Manager and caseworker
volunteers to ensure issues are resolved. This includes the running
of regular Case Review meetings and managing the minutes and case
records.
• Offer support and guidance, including training where appropriate, to volunteer
Caseworkers and Befrienders.
• Implementation of our safeguarding policies coordinating with our
Safeguarding Lead.
• Take a lead role in weekly Drop-In sessions on
Tuesdays 11am – 1pm.
• Manage a referral phone line.
• Process enquiries about WTRRP, take referrals for clients and contribute to
regular referral intake meetings, offering triage support and signposting.
• Create links and work effectively with public sector agencies to ensure our clients can access all entitled support in a timely and appropriate manner.
• Create effective referral relationships within the refugee sector and wider
charity sector to ensure our clients have access to high quality and effective
support through specialist agencies and services.

Qualities and skills:
Be able to work on your own initiative and independently, with good
organisational skills and IT knowledge.
Be a team-worker with good communication skills, and should have
experience of casework and of working alongside volunteers. You will have an understanding of
safeguarding of vulnerable adults and children.
Have a good understanding of the issues affecting asylum seekers, refugees
and people seeking Leave to Remain and the barriers they face.
Experience in relation to the benefit
system, be able to keep up with law changes as they take place and the impact of these changes on our clients.

Desirable experience:
Experience of advocating on behalf of vulnerable client
groups to ensure that they get fair access to services, including a
knowledge of housing options available and the mechanisms that can
be used to advocate effectively on behalf of clients.
Experience of working with people from a wide variety of cultural backgrounds,
and/or skill in languages.
OISC Level 1 (or higher) qualification or are willing to study for this in the future.

Proposed terms of employment:
• Salary: £27,000-£33,000 depending on experience and qualification

Role Overview:

As a key member of our team, you will:

• Supporting MindTHNR’s approach to securing both statutory income (grants and contracts) and voluntary income (trusts, corporates, major donors, individuals), in partnership with our Leadership Team.

• Working with the CEO to support organisational tendering and commercial income generation activities aligned with the strategy, coordinating solution design and written bids.

• Lead on grant identification and research- conduct research to identify potential grant and foundation funding opportunities and other sources aligned with Mind THNR's mission and projects.

• Lead on grant applications – including the development of compelling grant proposals, you will manage the end-to-end grant application process, including drafting, editing, and submitting grant proposals within deadlines, and ensuring compliance with funder requirements.

• Working alongside the Director of Finance, support the preparation of budgets for tenders and fundraising.

• Ensure all our income generation activity is compliant with fundraising governance and legislation, including GDPR, PECR, and the Code of Fundraising Practice, and ensure our systems and processes (including the database and reporting) are compliant and fit for purpose in Business Development.

• Grant writing, fundraising, or development, preferably in the nonprofit sector

This is an exciting time for Norfolk’s largest conservation charity following the launch of our new ambitious strategy, a Wilder Norfolk for All, which focuses on bringing more wildlife back to Norfolk and supporting more people to enjoy and act for nature. We want to empower 1 in 4 people to take action for nature, but to do this we need to provide opportunities for a wider diversity of people to connect with nature and experience the benefits it offers.

We are looking for someone dynamic, with an innovative approach to engagement, to lead on developing and delivering our Wilder Events programme of activities across Norfolk, engaging new and diverse audiences as well as our current members and supporters. As someone with excellent relationship management skills, you’ll also lead on working with health and wellbeing organisations across Norfolk to create opportunities for people to connect with nature, supporting local green prescribing initiatives.

The post will be based at NWT HQ in Norwich (with scope for hybrid working considered).  However, due to the nature of the role, the post-holder will need to travel to venues across Norfolk to oversee events taking place and will be required to work some evenings and weekends, for which time off in lieu will be earnt.

The Role

They're looking for a dedicated Children Young People and Families Worker to play a pivotal role in their mission to support service users make positive changes to their life and reduce their likelihood of committing serious violent crime. Their Children Young People & Family Workers will deliver support to individuals accessing the Community Diversion Service and motivate and encourage individuals to both make positive changes to their lives and work with specialist services in order to achieve further positive outcomes. 

As a Children Young People & Family Worker, you will be responsible for: 

• Caseload Management: Effectively manage a caseload of service users, providing comprehensive support tailored to their unique needs.
• Intervention Planning: Devise, implement, and review ongoing support plans and treatment strategies in collaboration with the service users. Your role is instrumental in helping them achieve their goals.
• Collaborative Approach: Work closely with a diverse team of professionals, including fellow colleagues, family members, and significant others, ensuring a holistic and integrated approach to support.
• Goal Setting: Assist service users in setting and working towards their goals, fostering a safe and supportive environment.

This post is a Hybrid Working with Community Outreach in the Sunderland area. You will work 09:00 am- 17:00pm Monday-Thursday and 09:00-16:30 on Fridays. However, there may be a need to work flexibly to account for your service user’s needs. 

Skills and Qualifications

To succeed as a Children Young People & Family Worker at the Community Diversion Service, you will ideally have.

• A strong commitment to the well-being and rehabilitation of service users. 
• Substance misuse, support work, mental health, or criminal justice work experience 
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. 
• Ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team. 
• Knowledge of best practices in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults. 
• Adherence to ethical standards and guidelines in the field.

About the role
This is a new, pivotal role in the organisation, working closely with the Executive Director and Senior Management colleagues, to develop, embed, and drive forward a strategic approach to fundraising.

You'll lead a significant step-change in the charity's approach to philanthropy - articulating a compelling Case for Support, and using the Theatre's 25th Anniversary Year (2024-2025) to implement a new fundraising strategy.

With broad scope and potential to increase impact across all fundraising income streams (Individuals, Corporates, and Trusts & Foundations), this could be a fantastic opportunity to widen your portfolio and take on strategic responsibility.
