Sobell House is a hospice based in Oxford. It is jointly funded by the NHS and Sobell House Hospice Charity. The hospice offers specialist palliative care to those facing life threatening illness, death and bereavement in Oxfordshire.

This is an exciting opportunity for an individual to join our Charity Fundraising Team in a newly formed role. We are looking for an individual with a passion for making a difference and who thrives on building long-term, multi-faceted relationships.

You will be responsible for the delivery and growth of our philanthropy and corporate fundraising programmes, building significant donor relationships including creating, developing and implementing a portfolio of donor cultivation, stewardship and touchpoints.

Your role will highlight the vital work Sobell House does, and raise vital income for Sobell House.

Overall Tasks and Responsibilities:

• Work proactively to deliver and maximise philanthropic and corporate relationships and delivery of income targets
• Secure long-term, sustainable income from High Net Worth Individuals (HNWIs) and Corporate Partners to meet fundraising targets
• Work with the Director of Fundraising and Fundraising Management Team to build and grow a donor pipeline by identifying potential prospects and connecting networks
• Diversify the Corporate Partnerships and Philanthropy income streams by developing a suite of opportunities for income generation including; multi-year donations, sponsorship, Gifts in Kind, Charity of the Year, Sobell Business Club and payroll giving as well as stocks and shares
• Build, manage and maintain a portfolio of HNWI and Corporate events
• Steward relationships to ensure donor satisfaction and long-term financial commitment, including detailed and timely reporting
• Manage effective and collaborative relationships with colleagues across Sobell House to support prospect cultivation and donor stewardship
• Review and develop strategic plans with the Director of Fundraising and Relationship Fundraising Manager to ensure growth and sustainability
• Manage and maintain donor records and plans on our CRM, Donorfy.
• Develop and maintain stewardship plans to ensure successful development of prospects

Salary: £32,853

Hours of Work: 37.5 hours per week

In the role of Counsellor, you will provide one to one counselling and group therapy to survivors of sexual violence. Fauna & Flora’s Scotland team is actively working to develop ways to offer further in-depth support to the community groups we work with to address the barriers that they identify and are looking to build our input in the terrestrial sphere, including taking part in conversations around rapidly developing nature finance mechanisms, and increasing our stakeholder network. This is an exciting stage for the team, as we further develop aspirations around land-based community conservation, as well as support the Coastal Communities Network (CCN) on their journey towards independence as a community-governed network. 

This internship is a valuable learning opportunity for someone with an interest in community-led conservation in Scotland. You will work across the Scotland team, engaging with colleagues within the wider Eurasia regional programme and relevant cross-cutting teams, as well as locally-based partners and contacts. You will gain knowledge of the current conservation context in Scotland, increase your understanding of project development within small teams, build your networks and support the planning and running of workshops and events. More specifically, you will play a key supporting role in the development of our work in Scotland through: desk-based research on community-led conservation, updating stakeholder mapping, network research, supporting key meetings, and a review of Scotland’s national and international nature obligations. There is also the opportunity to support the organisation and delivery of the CCN annual gathering in October 2024 and planned community workshops later in the year, as well as to engage in national policy consultations.

The Policy Communications Officer will assist in increasing the visibility of Alzheimer’s Research UK (ARUK) to external audiences, with a particular focus on influencing key political stakeholders, such as the next UK government, to support policy change.

The Policy Communications team sits within the Communications Department but works closely and collaboratively with the Policy and Public Affairs Department to maximise the success and influence of their work by gaining cut-through with key audiences and inspiring positive, urgent action. This is a varied role, covering areas across diagnosis, treatment and prevention. The postholder will also assist with efforts to shape public health policy around dementia, including dementia risk reduction and brain health messaging.

The postholder will develop engaging and compelling content for a range of communications channels, with the aim of developing the charity’s voice as an expert commentator on dementia policy and establishing the charity as a thought leader in the UK.

Main duties and responsibilities of the role:

· Working with the Policy Communications Manager to lead on the creation and delivery of communications and content to support ARUK's policy and public affairs activity, working through multiple channels including national media, newsletters, website content and social media.

· Develop effective relationships with ARUK’s Communications Department, Policy & Public Affairs Department, and with external stakeholders and partners, in order to identify and deliver on communications needs.

· Help find, develop and pitch news stories, press releases, thought leadership pieces and other content to national press on ARUK’s policy and public affairs activity, bringing the charity’s expertise and key messages to the forefront.

· Support the running of ARUK’s press office by co-ordinating responses to breaking news stories relating to relevant dementia policy developments, including drafting reactive comments, briefing spokespeople and accompanying spokespeople to interviews when appropriate.

· Monitor relevant media coverage; keep up to date with policy, social, scientific and charitable sector issues which could benefit, or have relevance to, ARUK.

· Assist with the organisation and delivery of events, including ARUK’s research conference and events in parliament.

· Develop effective working relationships with relevant members of the media, government and NHS communications contacts; respond promptly to queries, including occasional out-of-hours queries.

· Work with the Public Affairs team to build on existing relationships with ARUK’s campaigners and parliamentary advocates, developing engaging content to strengthen our communications with these groups.

· Work with the Internal Communications team to create and disseminate materials to support staff across the organisation in engaging their stakeholders and the wider public with ARUK's policy and public affairs work, including toolkits and Q&As.

· Liaise with the Social Media team to develop compelling content in support of the charity’s policy and public affairs work.

· Ensure activities comply with ARUK’s branding and style guide.

· Undertake any other relevant duties and projects delegated by the Policy Communications Manager in line with the responsibilities of the post. 

What we are looking for:

· Educated to degree level in related subject or equivalent level of experience.

· Experience of working with national media on health/science or policy issues.

· Experience of working with external stakeholders and partners.

· Experience of delivering communications programmes through a variety of media (e.g. press, social media, email, events).

· Confidence working with computers; knowledge of Microsoft office packages and databases, good keyboard skills.

· Understanding of the UK political landscape, its potential impact on health policy and the role communication plays in policy change.

· Excellent journalistic skills and news sense.

· Ability to understand and translate complex policy into consumable communications for journalists and the public.

· Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with a high standard of accuracy and attention to detail.

· Excellent organisational skills; the ability to manage many tasks with internal and external stakeholders to multiple deadlines.

· Ability to communicate appropriately and effectively with a broad range of people, including journalists, policymakers, representatives from partner organisations, and people affected by dementia.

· A confident and friendly manner; would feel at ease representing the charity to a range of audiences.

Who are Women’s Aid?

Women’s Aid is the national charity working to end domestic abuse against women and children. We are a federation of over 170 organisations which provide just under 300 local lifesaving services to women and children across England. For almost 50 years we have campaigned on behalf of our members and survivors to shape policy and practice, and to raise awareness of domestic abuse.

Purpose of the Public Affairs Officer role: 

As the Public Affairs Officer in the External Affairs team at Women’s Aid, you will play a pivotal role in our government and parliamentary engagement work. This will include leading on monitoring parliamentary activity and identifying opportunities for Women’s Aid to influence the political agenda and ensure parliamentarians are kept up to date on issues related to domestic abuse. You will play a pivotal role in supporting our influencing work with the new government on key pieces of legislation, Women’s Aid’s next big campaign and assisting Women’s Aid’s secretariat role to the All-Party Parliamentary Group (APPG) on Domestic Violence and Abuse. Alongside organising meetings and events for the APPG and with key political stakeholders, you will lead on the development of public affairs and campaigns materials, including policy bulletins, briefings, speaking notes and letters to government ministers.

Key duties and responsibilities of the Public Affairs Officer:

• Carry out regular political monitoring, keeping the team updated with important developments for Women’s Aid, identifying opportunities for influence and providing analysis on policy announcements.
• Draft newsletters, correspondence, and website and social media content for parliamentarians, Women’s Aid’s member services and campaigners on a range of campaign and policy priorities.
• Support Women’s Aid’s work on key pieces of legislation - responding to queries, drafting briefings and parliamentary questions, working with Parliamentarians on draft amendments, and the development of joint sector work.
• Lead on projects that widen participation in Women’s Aid public affairs and campaigning work, including organising meetings with sector colleagues, survivors, and our member services.

• Experience in liaising and working with external organisations and individuals, including via correspondence and joint working groups/joint sector meetings.
• Experience in supporting the delivery of projects and campaigns.

Youth Futures Foundation is the What Works Centre for youth employment. We exist to address the significant disparities in youth employment for marginalised groups. We want to ensure that all young people can access and keep good quality jobs.

We are looking for a Relationships Manager to accompany local partnerships through the development and testing of potential local systemic solutions, acting as the key point of contact for Youth Futures to:

•  support each partnership to make the most of their work during this period, with the aim for partnerships to establish a local shared ambition for systems change and commitment to action.
•  enable Youth Futures to make informed decisions about further partnership investments to deliver their ambition.
•  bring local insight and learning into Youth Futures, and to channel information and support from Youth Futures to local partnerships. 

You will lead our relationship with up to three local partnerships, working as part of their team to help Youth Futures understand the potential for change, and how and where we can add value. As well as support and future investment from Youth Futures, this may include helping partnerships identify alternative sources of funding, develop business cases for future support or capture their learning to influence decision-makers. You will have the strategic vision and analytical thinking to assess future potential as well as current progress, and spot these emerging opportunities.

This is an enabling role, which requires exceptional abilities to establish and maintain close, supportive relationships that put local partners and young people in the lead. You will have excellent stakeholder management skills, helping partners navigate the tensions between different parts of the system, while keeping their eyes on the prize of connected, consistent and responsive support.

This role is fixed term until January 2026 with the possibility of extension - Full Time –37.5 hours per week. We offer flexible working and consider alternative patterns of work.

Are you looking to get into fundraising? Are you an organised administrator and a proactive people person?An exciting opportunity has arisen at Prospect Hospice for a Fundraising Coordinator to support the community and events team.

Our fundraising team raises vital income to enable us to care for people with life limiting illnesses in our community. We do this through events, activities or other platforms to promote the Hospice out in the community and are passionate about providing an excellent supporter experience.  We are looking for a new team member to join us to help us achieve our goals and support our fundraising activities.

Hours: Monday to Friday 9-5 (with flexibility required on occasion to support events and activities outside regular working hours). Full or Part-time applications considered, minimum of 28 hours per week.

What is the role?

The Fundraising Coordinator will be an integral part of the fundraising team,  providing excellent administrative support for fundraising campaigns, events and in aid of fundraising. You will also be responsible for the administration of accurate supporter records and bookings, responding to enquiries and cultivating relationships with our supporters and volunteers. You will support the team to meet departmental targets and objectives to drive ongoing stewardship and supporter engagement.

Working as part of a small, busy team there will be opportunities for you to get involved with projects and initiatives outside of the day to day administration, helping to expand your knowledge and develop your skill set.

As a Recovery service facilitator, you’ll be a key point of contact within the Recovery service.
Your responsibilities will focus around designing, delivering, evaluating, reporting and the continuous development of structured learning programmes for people with mental ill health. You will help shape the ongoing vision and goals of the Recovery College to ensure that future development of the service meets the needs of the people it supports. You will also participate in external forums, workshops and events to promote the work and ethos of Mind in Bexley.

Key Responsibilities

1. Make a positive contribution to the delivery of a thriving, innovative and effective Recovery College.

2. As part of the Recovery College team, deliver both face to face and online courses, workshops and groups according to curriculum requirements.

3. As required, design, deliver and evaluate courses, workshops and groups ensuring co-production at each stage.

4. Ensure effective learning takes place by using evidence based interventions, appropriate teaching methods and learning processes.

5. Demonstrate effectiveness by achieving high levels of student retention, measuring impact, increased involvement of participants and positive individual progress.

6. Contribute to the development of best practice within the service.

8. Support individual students in setting learning goals and participating in workshops, courses and groups to ensure positive learning outcomes.

We are looking to recruit a Community Development Officer in Stirling, to engage key partners and stakeholders in the region tailoring support, training, and education to create suicide safer communities.

What you will do:

Identify, develop and maintain effective partnerships with local communities, volunteers and key partners across the region to engage them in the prevention of young suicide.

Proactively promote suicide prevention including raising the profile of PAPYRUS and engaging with those personally affected by young suicide.

Equip a wide range of stakeholders to enable them to create sustainable suicide safer communities through the provision of tailored support, training, and education.

Deliver training and awareness raising products to a variety of groups including professionals, parents, young people, volunteers, and other trainers.

Contribute to the development and review of projects, and education and training products, in line with the strategic plan.

Contribute to and promote campaigns, training and opportunities as outlined in the Regional and Strategic Plans.

Represent the charity at events including conferences, panels, working groups and through media channels as required.

To be successful in this role you will have:

Previous experience working in a community setting, delivering information and training sessions, leading workshops, or educational activities.

A proven track record of networking and building and managing effective relationships, tailoring the approach to meet the differing needs of the audience.

Experience as a qualified ASIST Trainer or willingness to gain qualification and experience.

Experience of using own initiative and creativity to develop a project, programme, or area of work.

The ability to travel to different locations across Scotland and the wider UK to attend meetings, events and deliver training.

Salary: £29,269 per annum (NALC SCP 18) progressing by increments to £32,076 per annum (NALC SCP 23)

· Deliver marketing and recruitment strategies to ensure we reach our targeted number of participants for each event

· Deliver best in class stewardship (across phone, email, SMS and post) to all supporters ensuring they have the best experience with Meningitis Research Foundation

· Work with the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to ensure we maximize income potential from each event through improving key performance indicators i.e. average value

· Develop the events portfolio by evaluating and monitoring current products and seeking out new events when appropriate

· Manage relationships with external partners including event companies, logistical suppliers and fundraising platforms

· Work with the Communications Team and Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community) to identify strong supporter stories and PR opportunities

· Seek opportunities to share knowledge and learning with other members of the Events & Community Team

· Identify supporters with high value potential (i.e. corporate or major donor) and ensure they are shared with the Head of Fundraising

· With the support of the Senior Fundraising Manager (Events & Community)  create and deliver budgets and KPIs targets for your area ensuring you monitor and report on progress against these budgets and KPIs

Skills and experience required

· Strong project management skills and the ability to work on multiple projects simultaneously
